Trump DOJ to File Antitrust Lawsuit Against Google Within Weeks: Report

The Justice Department will reportedly file antitrust charges against Google later this month focused on how it has used its search dominance in the online advertising business.

Attorney General William Barr is planning to bring the case against the tech behemoth earlier than expected, the New York Times reported Thursday, citing career DOJ lawyers, in order to allow the Trump administration to take credit for the action. Most of the approximately 40 Justice Department lawyers working on the Google investigation opposed ending their work by the end of September but were overruled by Barr.

The Justice Department and some state attorneys general have been investigating Google over the past year or so, focused on the anti-competitive conduct in Google’s online advertising business fueled by its dominance in the search engine sphere, connecting online publishers and advertisers to hundreds of millions of users. Oh, So Only This Percentage of BLM Protests Are Violent

By Townhall. Black Lives Matter is constantly protesting something. Pretty much every day and in pretty much every city there’s a demonstration, a die-in, a march, a rally, or straight looting taking place. So it’s not reassuring that a new study finds that just seven percent of the time a Black Lives Matter protest is violent.

The Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED) looked at 7,750 BLM-linked demonstrations occurring in 2,400 identified locations representing all 50 states and Washington, D.C. The protests took place between Aug. 22 and late May, following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. According to ACLED, 220 of the locations, or just under 10 percent, could be characterized as violent. And around seven percent of the 7,750 BLM demonstrations analyzed by the group were deemed violent.

Despite the finding, the analysis appears to be an attempt to whitewash BLM’s violence. Here’s an excerpt from the ACLED study where they reference a CNN “fact check” of the president to reassure us that the violence is usually confined to just a few blocks within a city. (Only 10 percent of the city is on fire!)

The vast majority of demonstration events associated with the BLM movement are non-violent (see map below). In more than 93% of all demonstrations connected to the movement, demonstrators have not engaged in violence or destructive activity. Peaceful protests are reported in over 2,400 distinct locations around the country. Violent demonstrations, meanwhile, have been limited to fewer than 220 locations — under 10% of the areas that experienced peaceful protests. In many urban areas like Portland, Oregon, for example, which has seen sustained unrest since Floyd’s killing, violent demonstrations are largely confined to specific blocks, rather than dispersed throughout the city (CNN, 1 September 2020).

Black Lives Matter Protesters Riot in Manhattan, Cause $100,000 Damage: NYPD

By New York Post. Eight people were arrested Friday night when a group of 150 Black Lives Matter protesters smashed windows and graffitied the storefronts of Lower Manhattan chain stores and banks, police sources said.

At least two Starbucks, five banks and a Duane Reade had their windows busted, causing an estimated $100,000 in damage.

Police recovered two stun guns, smoke grenades, and burglary and graffiti tools.

The protest had been advertised on Twitter by groups calling themselves the “New Afrikan Black Panther Party” and the “Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement.” (Read more from “Black Lives Matter Protesters Riot in Manhattan, Cause $100,000 Damage: NYPD” HERE)

Trump Approval Numbers Return to Pre-Shutdown High

President Trump’s approval rating is back up to its pre-pandemic high of 52 percent, according to a Rasmussen poll.

Friday’s Rasmussen Reports approval rating for Trump was 52%. At the same time, 48 percent disapprove. Strong feelings for the president are equal on both sides– 42 percent strongly approve of the president’s job and 42 percent strongly disapprove.

The last time Trump hit 52 percent approval was late February, weeks before coronavirus lockdowns kicked in.

The highest approval rating Trump has had was in late September 2019, at 53 percent, according to Rasmussen. The highest former President Barack Obama had was 52 percent, in late January 2011.

Daily tracking results for Rasmussen are collected via telephone surveys of 500 likely voters a night and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. (Read more from “Trump Approval Numbers Return to Pre-Shutdown High” HERE)

AG Barr: Antifa Member’s Killing Shows America Won’t Be Ruled by Violent Mobs

Attorney General William Barr said Friday that the killing of alleged murderer and self-described member of Antifa Michael Reinoehl showed that the U.S. will be “governed by law, not violent mobs.”

In a statement released Friday, Barr praised police for their efforts in finding Reinoehl, and said his death made the United States “safer.”

“The tracking down of Reinoehl — a dangerous fugitive, admitted Antifa member, and suspected murderer — is a significant accomplishment in the ongoing effort to restore law and order to Portland and other cities,” Barr said. “The streets of our cities are safer with this violent agitator removed, and the actions that led to his location are an unmistakable demonstration that the United States will be governed by law, not violent mobs.”

Reinoehl was accused of killing Aaron “Jay” Danielson, a member of Patriot Prayer, in Portland, Oregon last Saturday. Patriot Prayer is a far-right group founded in 2016, and describes itself as being formed to defend the interests of American Christians. Herschel Walker’s Son Goes off on Black Lives Matter: They’re ‘the KKK in Blackface’ and ‘a Terrorist Organization’

Christian Walker, the gay son of football legend Herschel Walker, unloaded on Black Lives Matter protesters and rioters in an in-your-face video posted to social media on Monday, calling them “domestic terrorists.”

“Anybody who honestly cares about black people could not support Black Lives Matter — it’s a terrorist organization, and personally I think it’s the KKK in blackface,” Walker said in the opening of the video posted on the Log Cabin Republicans’ Twitter account.

Log Cabin Republicans is the nation’s largest Republican organization dedicated to representing the LGBT community.

In the video, Walker, who lives in Los Angeles, recalls being frightened and then enraged after witnessing looting and burning taking place on the streets right outside his home.

“I was on the roof of my building in Los Angeles, and I was looking around town and the whole town was on fire because of radical BLM domestic terrorists,” he said. “There were 12 helicopters in the sky. I was freaking out, and all anyone had to say was, ‘Oh, let me go post a black square on Instagram!’ And I said, ‘Oh, no-no-no, I’m not giving up my country up to the radical left.'”

Joe Biden Lies in Church, Brings ‘Very Fine People’ Hoax to Kenosha

Former Vice President Joe Biden told a small audience at the Grace Lutheran Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin, that President Donald Trump had called neo-Nazis “very fine people” — repeating a false claim he has made since his campaign began.

Biden — whose campaign billed his visit as an opportunity for racial healing — repeated the same script he has used over and over again, talking about white supremacists coming “out of the fields,” and “carrying torches,” with their “veins bulging.”

He added that a “young woman was killed” protesting against them. (Her name was Heather Heyer, a detail he often omits.)

Biden — standing before the cross — went on to say that the president, when asked about the white supremacists, said there were “very fine people on both sides.” But Biden misled his audience: Trump actually condemned the white supremacists. . .

The former vice president told the congregation that Trump’s words — which he misrepresented — “legitimize[d]” hate. (Read more from “Joe Biden Lies in Church, Brings ‘Very Fine People’ Hoax to Kenosha” HERE)

DOJ Begins Indicting Rioters With Federal “Civil Disorder” Charges

18 U.S. Code § 231. “Civil Disorders” is a charge defined under federal law as a “public disturbance involving acts of violence which causes an immediate danger of or results in injury to people or their property.” [LINK] Apparently this federal statute is now being used by U.S. attorney’s across the country.

OREGON – Two men and a woman appeared before a federal judge Wednesday in Portland, becoming the first in Oregon to face the rare federal charge of civil disorder for alleged violence during this summer’s turbulent protests.

A Seattle man is accused of launching a ball bearing with a slingshot during a downtown demonstration in July and striking a Portland Fire Bureau medic.

A Portland woman is accused of throwing a helmet that struck a police sergeant in the head last week outside the Police Bureau’s North Precinct.

Another man is accused of repeatedly using a hammer to strike the glass above the front door of the Police Bureau’s East Precinct and elbowing an officer in the face in early August and then throwing frozen eggs and other objects at police three days later outside the Penumbra Kelly Building on East Burnside Street.

The felony cases against Jesse Herman Bates, 38, Michelle Peterson O’Connor, 31, and Krystopher Michael Donnelly, 27, mark a significant detour from past practice in Oregon — federal prosecutors here haven’t used the charge in recent memory. (read more)

Man Suspected of Gunning Down Trump Supporter in Portland Is Killed When Marshals Try to Arrest Him

By PJ Media. The man who appears to have admitted to shooting and killing a supporter of Donald Trump in Portland on Saturday was killed Thursday night as U.S. Marshals moved in to arrest him. . .

His connections with antifa were well known. He acted as antifa “security” at several protests and was apparently working in that capacity when he took it upon himself to “execute” Danielson, as the Trump supporter’s friend, an eyewitness, put it.

In an interview published by Vice News, Reinoehl all but admitted to carrying out the shooting. He claims that his friend, a person “of color,” was being threatened by the victim of the shooting, Aaron “Jay” Danielson, in downtown Portland.

The suspect in the shooting was known to bring his kids with him to riots and demonstrations. He was arrested multiple times, recently for bringing a loaded gun to a riot. He was let go on his own recognizance by Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt and his underlings who have begun a new, liberal policy of releasing antifa and Black Lives Matter, Inc™ rioters, instead of prosecuting many of them. Report: Suspect in Fatal Shooting of Conservative Activist Killed by Police

By Breitbart. The man being investigated in the shooting death of a member of the conservative group Patriot Prayer was killed Thursday night by police near Seattle, according to a report from the New York Times.

Michael Forest Reinoehl was encountered by a fugitive apprehension task force in Lacey, Washington, a city to the southwest of Seattle.

According to the New York Times, “An arrest warrant had been issued by the Portland police earlier Thursday, on the same day that Vice News published an interview with Mr. Reinoehl in which he appeared to admit to the shooting, saying, ‘I had no choice.’”

In an odd twist, President Trump had urged law enforcement to apprehend Reinoehl only moments before his fatal encounter with police.

Unnamed law enforcement confirmed Reinoehl’s death the Times. (Read more from “Report: Suspect in Fatal Shooting of Conservative Activist Killed by Police” HERE)

Gov. Cuomo: Trump Had ‘Better Have an Army’ to Protect Him If He Comes to NYC

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday all but threatened President Trump’s safety if he returns to New York City in a rant responding to an exclusive story by The Post that Trump is looking to pull federal funds from “lawless” cities including New York.

Cuomo called an emergency press briefing within a half-hour on Wednesday night to tear into Trump for the order, which cites New York’s rising murder rate and defunding of the NYPD.

“He better have an army if he thinks he’s gonna walk down the street in New York. New Yorkers don’t want to have anything to do with him,” the Democrat said, all but threatening the commander-in-chief.

But Cuomo — who, like Trump, hails from Queens — wasn’t done. “He can’t have enough bodyguards to walk through New York City, people don’t want to have anything to do with him.”

On substance, Cuomo said he doubted the legality of Trump’s five-page memo ordering a review of federal funds that can be redirected from New York City, Portland, Seattle and Washington, DC. (Read more from “Gov. Cuomo: Trump Had ‘Better Have an Army’ to Protect Him If He Comes to NYC” HERE)
