Christian Persecution Increasing in the U.S.: Churches Across the Country Attacked, Burned to the Ground; Statue of Jesus Beheaded

(Editor’s note: here’s our article on the rash of church burnings and vandalism across the U.S. last week)

By Tony Perkins. It looked like something out of a 2015 news report—a picture from ISIS, maybe, torching its way through Mosul. But the charred pews and collapsed roof were not the work of Islamic terrorists, but America’s own.

Over the weekend, the rioters, the same ones who wanted us to believe their cause is justice, came for our churches—using gasoline, lighters, gallons of paint, and vans to drive their message of destruction and chaos through the heart of America’s faithful.

It took more than 50 firefighters to put out the mountain of flames at San Gabriel Church, which—by Saturday night—was nothing but a rickety frame of smoldering ash. . .

Laughing about it later with police, the 23-year-old arsonist said he was on a “mission.” Turns out, it was a mission several radicals shared, as a wave of destruction hit as many as five more churches in 48 hours.

In New York City, the mobs made bonfires out of two Virgin Mary statues, with words like “IDOL” scrawled in ugly black paint down others. Tuesday, even a Jesus sculpture was decapitated. (Read more from “Churches Across the Country Attacked” HERE)

Florida Church’s Statue of Jesus Beheaded, Similar Attacks Occur Across U.S.

By Fox News. A statue of Jesus Christ was decapitated and knocked off a pedestal at a Catholic church in Florida, another in a string of similar incidents nationwide.

The Rev. Edivaldo da Silva, a parish priest of three years at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Southwest Miami-Dade, discovered the desecrated depiction of Christ July 15. Police are now investigating.

“This incident has saddened the parish community,” Good Shepherd said in a statement. “It is too soon to arrive to any conclusion, but we have seen other churches vandalized around the country. We totally ‘condemn’ this action. We invite our community to pray for peace.” . . .

In a separate incident, a Catholic congregation in Ocala, several hours north of Miami, was targeted Saturday morning while preparing for Mass. Steven Anthony Shields, 24, is accused of slamming his vehicle into the church before setting it on fire. He was arrested and faces several charges, including attempted murder. Police said Shields told them he was on a mission and was opposed to the Catholic Church.

In another act of violence, the pastor of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Chattanooga, Tenn., found a statue of Mary decapitated on Saturday and they have not located the statue’s head, Catholic News Agency reports. Arrest Made in Fire at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ocala

By Ocala Star Banner. Marion County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Dunnellon man and accused him of setting a fire Saturday morning inside Queen of Peace Catholic Church. The blaze caused significant damage but no one was injured.

In an interview with sheriff’s Detective John Lightle, suspect Steven Anthony Shields said he has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and is not taking his medication.

Shields said that what he did was “awesome,” and he smiled and laughed while he was questioned at the Sheriff’s Office, according to an arrest affidavit. Referring to himself as the “king” and saying he was on a “mission,” Shields told the detective he has problems with the Catholic Church and made reference to several Bible passages, including the Book of Revelation.

The detective said Shields reeked of gasoline and admitted setting the church foyer on fire. (Read more from “Arrest Made in Fire at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ocala” HERE)

Who in DC has Ordered the Execution of Congressman Steve Stockman?

By the day if not by the hour, conservative movement champion former Congressman Steve Stockman’s situation grows perilously close to a death sentence.

Steve is the only over-60 diabetic prisoner remaining at the Beaumont, Texas federal prison facility, which also has the highest per capita COVID-19 infection rate of any prison in the country.

And he’s been told by prison officials he will not be leaving on orders “straight from the top” in Washington!!!

It’s clear someone wants him dead.

Someone in Washington is ordering that his life not be saved by being released to home detention.

There needs to be investigations into who it is.

My July 8 article explained why Steve and Roger Stone were American political prisoners. Roger’s sentence has since been commuted. Steve’s situation, on the other hand, has gotten worse.

As of July 14, the number of prisoners infected with COVID-19 at the Beaumont prison facility where he is located was 432, up from the 180 I reported earlier this month.

Steve’s age (63), multiple co-morbidities (diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, asthma, and more), and the nonviolent, non-sexual nature of his conviction (charges after three grand juries refused to indict him, involving campaign finance and fundraising from two wealthy Republican donors, neither of whom filed complaints) clearly make him eligible for release to home detention, consistent with a March 26 directive from Attorney General William Barr to the Director of the Bureau of Prisons for “at risk” inmates.

(Editor’s note: Joe Miller’s interview with Steve Stockman a few years ago where he hammers Obama in typical Stockman-style)

And despite the known positive benefits of sunlight to fight off coronavirus, Steve has not been allowed outside in many weeks.

Given his age and health, Steve is a sitting duck in the COVID-19-ravaged Beaumont prison.

Releasing Steve to home detention would be a no-brainer. A UCLA COVID-19 Behind Bars Data Project reports that over 70,000 people have been released from jail due to the COVID-19 threat, and over 33,000 released from prison consistent with federal “compassion” guidelines directed by a very law-and-order Attorney General, William Barr.

Steve has filed and even re-filed the papers for release to home confinement, including a petition for “Compassionate Release” he filed with Warden F. J. Garrido on April 4, to which Garrido responded on April 20. Steve was told on April 24 he’d be placed in pre-release quarantine, but was then turned away at the door by prison staff.

Soon after, and one more time since then, Steve was told by prison officials he will not be leaving on orders from the top.

On May 21 Warden Garrido wrote responding to someone inquiring about Steve’s release, noting that Attorney General Barr authorized the Director of the Bureau of Prisons to “maximize appropriate transfers to home confinements of all appropriate inmates” at certain prisons where “COVID-19 is materially affecting operations.”

Garrido’s letter goes on to say the Beaumont prison “will take swift action to exercise its expanded home confinement authority for any inmate who is found to be at risk for COVID-19 and suitable for home confinement.”

Steve fits the criteria for release to home detention. The directions “from the top” that he not be released is a death sentence.

Dead men, after all, tell no tales.

Indeed, after publication of various articles describing his unfair politicized treatment in the justice system, Steve was told by one prison official that he has a “publicity problem.”

One time Steve was sent to solitary confinement. Shortly after he was placed in a jail cell with a notorious murderer.

Why is Steve Stockman being treated in such an obviously discriminatory and almost certainly deadly way?

Writing in The Washington Times, Rebecca Hagelin explained:

The 2018 criminal trial of Stockman has laid bare the underbelly of political targeting by the Obama administration’s Department of Justice. As a congressman, Stockman had exposed many instances of high-level corruption by Obama officials. His ability to chase down and hold accountable Obama officials is legendary. Stockman called for the impeachment of Attorney General Eric H. Holder for obstruction of justice and contempt of Congress.

Over at The Epoch Times, Matthew Vadum reported how Steve’s many supporters in the conservative movement described him as “a victim of a complex, politically motivated runaway prosecution” who “is being punished for his zealous pursuit of Obama-era wrongdoings.”

Former prosecutor Rachel Alexander writing at Townhall.com said:

[Steve] was known for boldly opposing President Obama. He was a Congressional whistleblower on Obama administration corruption, with such actions as calling for the House Select Committee to investigate the government’s handling of the Benghazi embassy tragedy of lost American lives, exposing President Obama’s payment to the Haqqani terrorist network in exchange for the release of Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl, and revealing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s violation of the Iran sanctions to allow the sale to Iran of specialized steel used in nuclear weaponry.

General Michael Flynn’s superstar lawyer Sidney Powell is quoted by Michael Tennant at The New American: “It is highly likely [the Justice Department Public Integrity Section] targeted former Congressman Stockman and have been extremely and unreasonably harsh toward him because he was so outspoken in trying to hold Lois Lerner, the Clintons, and Obama accountable.”

Steve’s enemies in the Deep State go right to Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation. Steve pushed to expose their ties to Ukrainian oligarch Victor Pinchuk.

Pinchuk was the largest non-state donor to the Clinton Foundation, donating between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000 according to ABC News. His Interpipe company engaged in possibly illegal Iranian pipeline transactions under Hillary’s watch and approval while she was Secretary of State. Rory Ross at Newsweek wrote in 2015:

In November 2014 . . . Steve Stockman wrote to the US Department of the Treasury, questioning Interpipe’s dealings with Iran.

Newsweek has seen a copy of that letter, in which Stockman refers to a “body of evidence” detailing “exports from Interpipe to Iranian entities” that “may have contravened US sanctions to Iran”.

All this stinks, of course, and fits with the larger exposure of how the corrupt Deep State under the Obama administration and the corrupt Clinton rein at the State Department used nefarious government tactics to target their political enemies.

Steve Stockman was an outspoken critic of their corruption, and now someone in Washington’s Deep State wants their political prisoner to die in jail, when instead he should be released to home detention.

Conservatives take action; protect life, especially for those who can’t help themselves:

The entire conservative movement needs to demand investigations into who ordered what is essentially a death sentence for Steve Stockman.

Please reach out to people you know, and who know that corruption exists in the Deep State: Attorney General Bill Barr, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Republican senators, and conservative or even any honest independent journalists.

Ask them, who is executing Steve Stockman? We want names.

Tell them that we want names, and that we will push for investigations into major abuses in the prison system, including at Beaumont.

Federal Judge’s Son Is Shot Dead and Her Criminal Defense Attorney Husband Is Critically Injured After a Gunman Ambushed Their Home – Four Days After She Was Assigned a Case Linked to Jeffrey Epstein; Suspect Found DEAD

By Daily Mail. The son of a federal judge has been shot dead and her husband critically wounded after they were attacked at their home by a gunman dressed as a FedEx driver.

The attack happened at the home of Esther Salas, 51, an Obama-appointed District Court judge, in North Brunswick, New Jersey, on Sunday evening.

The judge’s 20-year-old son Daniel Anderl was killed, and her defense attorney husband Mark Anderl, 63, was critically injured. . .

Judge Salas had recently been assigned to a civil financial fraud case tied to Jeffrey Epstein.

It was brought by Deutsche Bank investors who claim the bank made false and misleading statements about its anti-money laundering policies and failed to monitor ‘high-risk’ customers including convicted sex offender billionaire Jeffrey Epstein. ‘Anti-Feminist’ Lawyer Identified as Shooter Who Killed Judge Esther Salas’ Son Then Self

By ABC News. The suspect in the fatal shooting of a federal judge’s son, who was an attorney that had a previous case in front of the judge, has been found dead, law enforcement sources told ABC News.

The son of Judge Esther Salas was shot and killed, and her husband shot and injured in an attack at the family’s New Jersey home on Sunday night. Salas was not hurt in the attack. . .

The suspect was a white man who wore a face covering and a FedEx uniform, law enforcement sources told ABC News, and he used an ordinary car to make a getaway.

The suspect has now been identified as Roy Den Hollander, a Manhattan lawyer and self-described antifeminist, multiple law enforcement sources briefed on the case told ABC News and the FBI confirmed.

Den Hollander’s body was discovered in a car by a municipal employee in the town of Rockland, New York. He died of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound, the sources said. New York State Police were on scene and the FBI was called. (Read more from “‘Anti-Feminist’ Lawyer Identified as Shooter Who Killed Judge Esther Salas’ Son Then Self” HERE)

Michael Cohen Sues AG Barr After Being Sent Back to Prison

Michael Cohen is suing Attorney General William Barr, claiming he was thrown back in prison because he refused to put the kibosh on his tell-all book about President Trump.

Cohen — who was sentenced to three years in prison for tax evasion, bank fraud, and lying to Congress — was released in May after one year due to concerns over the spread of coronavirus inside Otisville prison.

But Cohen was locked up again on July 9 after the former Trump fixer was caught by a Post photographer chowing down at a Manhattan restaurant.

Federal officials said he violated the terms of his home confinement — and threw him into solitary confinement back at Otisville.

But Cohen, 53, claims in the lawsuit filed in federal court in Manhattan Monday that he was locked up because he refused to cancel plans to publish a behind-the-scenes book that would make Trump out to be “a cheat, a liar, a con man, a racist,” the suit said. President Trump: There Will Be No National Mask Mandate; but Fauci Responds, States Must Force Mask Mandate

By Breitbart. In an interview set to air on this weekend’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” President Donald Trump rejected the possibility of a national mask mandate. . .

“No, I want people to have a certain freedom, and I don’t believe in that,” Trump said. “No, and I don’t agree with the statement that if everybody wear a mask, everything disappears. Hey, Dr. Fauci said, don’t wear a mask. Our Surgeon General – terrific guy – said, don’t wear a mask. Everybody who is saying don’t wear a mask – all of sudden everybody’s got to wear a mask, and as you know, masks cause problems, too. With that being said, I’m a believer in masks. I think masks are good.” (Read more from “President Trump: There Will Be No National Mask Mandate” HERE)

Fauci Tells States to Be Forceful With Mask Mandates

By CNN. The nation’s top infectious disease expert on Friday urged governors and mayors to “be as forceful as possible” to get people to wear face coverings.

Social distancing, an important factor in blunting the spread of coronavirus, can be difficult with more people going out, Dr. Anthony Fauci said.

“When you’re living your life and trying to open up the country, you are going to come into contact with people. And for that reason, we know that masks are really important, and we should be using them everywhere,” he said during a US Chamber of Commerce virtual event. Donald Trump Promotes Wearing Masks

President Donald Trump on Monday shared an image of himself wearing a mask, noting that many people believed it was “patriotic” to do so. . .

President Trump shared the image on Twitter as government officials continue pressing for more mask mandates to fight the virus.

In an interview with Fox News host Chris Wallace last week, Trump resisted calls for a national mask mandate from Democrats like New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and former Vice President Joe Biden.

“I want people to have a certain freedom, and I don’t believe in that,” Trump said, adding that he did not agree with the idea that if everyone wore a mask the virus would vanish. Trump also said during the interview that he was a “believer in masks” but added that “masks cause problems, too.

Missouri Couple Who Defended Home Against Protesters Facing Charges (VIDEO)

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner said Monday she’s charging the couple who flashed guns at a crowd marching to the mayor’s home last month, further igniting the gun-rights debate.

Gardner, the city’s top prosecutor, said Mark and Patricia McCloskey will be charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon following the June 28 incident.

“It is illegal to wave weapons in a threatening manner — that is unlawful in the city of St. Louis,” Gardner said in a statement. She added that she was recommending a diversion program as an alternative to jail.

The McCloskeys have said many times they were defending themselves, with tensions high in St. Louis and other cities over race and law enforcement. They said that the crowd of demonstrators broke an iron gate marked with “No Trespassing” and “Private Street” signs, and that some violently threatened them.

In a statement to Fox News, the couple’s attorney, Joel Schwartz, called the charges “disheartening.”

Oh Yeah, There’s an Election: Presidential Campaign Overshadowed as World Explodes

By Washington Examiner. For those outside the Washington, D.C., Beltway and not consumed with political news, it’s easy to forget that there’s a presidential election this year. While society-changing, earth-shattering events such as the coronavirus pandemic, mass unemployment, and violent protests have taken center stage, the 2020 election itself is a bit of a snooze.

President Trump and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden certainly respond to the catastrophic events as they try to sustain their campaigns. But the election itself is not driving the news, a dramatic change from previous years.

An April Pew Research Center survey found that 52% of people in the United States were paying close or fairly close attention to news about presidential candidates, significantly down from the same point in the 2016 cycle when 69% said they were paying close or very close attention to the presidential candidates. Meanwhile, 87% in the April survey said that they are paying close or very close attention to the coronavirus pandemic.

A former D.C. political digital operative now based on the Pacific Northwest put it bluntly: “Truly, who can really be thinking about the election when the pandemic is happening and it feels like society is ripping apart at the seams?”. . .

Even seasoned political operatives and activists confess that the Trump-Biden contest slipped their minds. (Read more from “Oh Yeah, There’s an Election: Presidential Campaign Overshadowed as World Explodes” HERE)

Trump Declines to Say Whether He’ll Accept 2020 Election Results in Fox News Interview

By Newsweek. President Donald Trump declined to say whether or not he will accept the results of the presidential election in November during an interview broadcast by Fox News Sunday.

“I have to see. Look … I have to see,” Trump told Fox News anchor Chris Wallace when he asked if the president would accept election results if he lost. “No, I’m not going to just say yes. I’m not going to say no, and I didn’t last time either.”

During the interview, the president dismissed polls that show him trailing presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden by significant margins – with many showing him down by double digits nationally.

“First of all, I’m not losing, because those are fake polls. They were fake in 2016 and now they’re even more fake. The polls were much worse in 2016,” the president said. (Read more from “Trump Declines to Say Whether He’ll Accept 2020 Election Results in Fox News Interview” HERE)

Trump Chief of Staff: ‘I Expect Indictments’ From John Durham Investigation

President Trump’s chief of staff said that he expects criminal indictments to result from U.S. Attorney John Durham’s wide-ranging inquiry into the origins and conduct of the Trump-Russia investigation.

Mark Meadows, who took over as chief of staff in late March after serving as a North Carolina congressman since 2013, told Maria Bartiromo of Sunday Morning Futures on Fox News that, based on what he’d seen, he believes people involved in the investigation into Russian interference and alleged collusion with the Trump campaign will end up with charges being leveled against them by Durham, the federal prosecutor handpicked by Attorney General William Barr to lead the investigation of the investigators.

The Trump chief of staff also predicted that new, damning details would be made public soon, just a couple days after Republic Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham of South Carolina released newly-declassified documents, which cast doubt on the veracity of British ex-spy Christopher Steele’s dossier and undercut the Russian collusion narrative pushed by some in the media.

“I think the American people expect indictments — I know I expect indictments based on the evidence I’ve seen. Lindsey Graham did a good job in getting that out. We know that they not only knew that there wasn’t a case, but they continued to investigate and spy, and yes, I use the word ‘spy,’ on Trump campaign officials and actually even doing things when this president was sworn in and after that and doing it in an inappropriate manner,” Meadows said.
