No Compromise: Biden Goes Extreme on Gun Control (VIDEO)

Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden went far to the left on the issue of guns on Monday, telling reporters that he wants to ban magazines that hold “multiple bullets” — which means all magazines.

Biden, who made the remarks while talking to the press during a campaign stop in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, said there should be “no compromise” on guns as he also voiced his anger at the state of Texas for allowing people to carry firearms in places of worship to defend themselves from those who seek to harm others.

“And we’re talking about loosening access, to have guns, to be able to take them into places of worship, I mean, it is absolutely irrational. It’s totally irrational,” Biden said. “The idea that we don’t have elimination of assault-type weapons, magazines that can hold multiple bullets in them, it’s absolutely mindless.” . . .

Biden’s extreme gun control push, if ever enacted, would effectively ban the overwhelming majority of handguns, all semi-automatic shotguns and rifles, and many hunting rifles which use magazines. . .

“None,” Biden. “None on this. I think this is no compromise, this is one we have to just push, and push, and push, and push, and push.” (Read more from “No Compromise: Biden Goes Extreme on Gun Control” HERE)

New NASA Data on Forest Fires, Deforestation Refutes Climate Alarmists

Newly released data from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) refutes claims made by climate alarmists that forest fires are becoming more prevalent as a result of climate change and that the world is losing its forests.

“Any reader of the New York Times and other mainstream media outlet would be forgiven for believing that fires globally are on the rise, but they aren’t,” Forbes reported. “In reality, there was a whopping 25 percent decrease in the area burned from 2003 to 2019, according to NASA.”

“For the last 35 years, the world has been re-foresting, meaning new tree growth has exceeded deforestation,” Forbes continued. “The area of the Earth covered with forest has increased by an area the size of Texas and Alaska combined.”

Forbes reports that the main reason that forest fires are declining is because of economic development and urbanization since less land is being converted into ranches and farms, as technology continues to advance which allows farms to grow more food on less land.

The Forbes’ report, authored by energy reporter Michael Shellenberger, also examined how many in the media push manufactured narratives that lead people to believe that the climate is on the verge of collapse. By Townhall. The 36-year-old man who went on a shooting rampage Saturday in the Odessa-Midland area of Texas was fired from his job at a trucking company hours before he indiscriminately opened fire on people.

The shooting began with a routine traffic stop after he failed to use a turn signal. The man then opened fire on police and led officials on a high-speed chase during which he fired on people, killing seven and injuring 22 others. . .

FBI: Texas Shooter ‘on Long Spiral Down.’ Here’s What We Know

By USA Today. he gunman who killed seven people and left at least 25 others injured on Saturday was fired from his job that morning and “on a long spiral down.”

Odessa Police Chief Michael Gerke said at Monday news conference Seth Aaron Ator, 36, and his employer at Journey Oilfield Services both called 911 Saturday to complain about the other over the firing. The shooter made a “rambling statement,” but no threats were made. . .

Ator left the business before officers arrived and then called the FBI’s tipline. In that call he also made no threats of violence, Gerke said. . .

FBI Special Agent Christopher Combs said the shooter’s home was “a very strange residence” that reflected his mental state.

“He was on a long spiral of going down,” Combs said, after a search of the property west of Odessa. “He didn’t wake up Saturday morning and go into his company and then it happened. He went to that company in trouble and had probably been in trouble for a while.” (Read more from “FBI: Texas Shooter ‘on Long Spiral Down.’ Here’s What We Know” HERE)

Former Marine Had Firearms Seized Under ‘Red Flag’ Law over Anti-Antifa Comments

By The Blaze. Shane Kohfield, a Trump supporting former Marine, had his firearms confiscated by law enforcement last month under Oregon’s new “red flag” law.

The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task took “extraordinary steps” against Kohfield last month after he threatened to “slaughter” Antifa in self-defense during a demonstration outside Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s house, the Oregonian reported.

“If Antifa gets to the point where they start killing us, I’m going to kill them next,” Kohfield reportedly said. “I’d slaughter them and I have a detailed plan on how I would wipe out Antifa.”

FBI agents reportedly responded within days, forcing Kohfield to temporarily surrender his firearms — which included an AR-15, handgun, rifle, and shotgun — to authorities. He was also committed to a veteran’s hospital for psychiatric observation. . .

Oregon’s red flag law allows a judge to issue an “extreme risk protection order” against individuals who law enforcement or family members believe is potentially violent to themselves or others. The “protective order” lasts one year, but can be renewed indefinitely. (Read more from “Former Marine Had Firearms Seized Under ‘Red Flag’ Law over Anti-Antifa Comments” HERE)

Former Marine Said He’d ‘Slaughter’ Antifa. the FBI, Using Oregon’s New Red Flag Law, Took His Guns Away

By The Oregonian. . .Kohfield, who spoke with The Oregonian/OregonLive, suffers from bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder, medical records show.

He returned home Tuesday from the VA hospital and maintains he never planned to hurt or maim other people. But he understands why he alarmed police.

“I looked unhinged. I looked dangerous and have the training to be dangerous,” said Kohfield, who lives with his father in Canby and receives disability payments for physical and psychological injuries he sustained during two tours of duty in Iraq. . .

“I figured that the key to de-escalating the situation was to not be the most violent person in the room,” he said. “It was to be the scariest person in the room.” (Read more from “Former Marine Said He’d ‘Slaughter’ Antifa. the FBI, Using Oregon’s New Red Flag Law, Took His Guns Away” HERE)

Amazon, Google Reap 15 Percent Discount to Hire Foreigners over American Graduates

The federal government is helping giant multinational corporations such as Amazon and Google to reap a 15 percent discount every time foreign workers are hired over American college graduates, says Hilarie Gamm, author of Billions Lost: The American Tech Crisis and The Road Map to Change and co-founder of the American Workers Coalition.

During an exclusive interview with SiriusXM Patriot’s Breitbart News Tonight, Gamm explained how the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program provides a tax incentive, and thus a subsidy paid for by U.S. taxpayers, for corporations to hire foreign workers over American graduates. . .

“So what’s happening today is you’ll have children that are American citizens where their parents have basically bankrupted themselves to send their kids to these American universities and they’ll be sitting alongside their foreign friends who are … earning the same degree,” Gamm continued. “And those foreign children will have a job offer in hand when they graduate and the American child will not have even gotten an interview for that same company.”

As Gamm explained, corporations like Amazon, Google, Deloitte, and Intel employ thousands of OPT foreign workers over American STEM graduates every year. In 2017, alone, Amazon had placed nearly 2,400 OPT foreign workers into white-collar STEM jobs that could have otherwise gone to American graduates. . .

“So where a Jane Doe is hired and they have to contribute and pay into Medicare and Social Security when they have a job because they are an American citizen and then their employer, let’s say Deloitte, has to contribute as well,” Gamm said. “In the case of an OPT candidate and hire, neither the … worker or Deloitte has to pay … anything if they are an OPT hire. They don’t pay Medicare contributions and they don’t pay Social Security contributions.” (Read more from “Amazon, Google Reap 15 Percent Discount to Hire Foreigners over American Graduates” HERE)

Bernie Goes Full Oprah: Promises to Erase Billions in Medical Debt

The Democratic primary war is truly something to behold. One Democrat after another promises voters the world and then some. Heck, the universe and then some. See their plans to erase student debt. It’s insane, it’ll cost taxpayers a ridiculous amount, but a Democrat who opposes erasing student debt will have to fight an uphill battle to win the nomination. Yes, even if his name happens to be Joe Biden.

Well, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has just upped the ante. He now promises to erase $81 billion in medical debt. I kid you not. HeadlinezPro explains:

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) revealed one other piece of his plan to overtake the well being care system in America on Saturday, teasing his proposal to cancel $81 billion in previous medical debt.

In an announcement, Sanders said that “in the United States of America, your financial life and future should not be destroyed because you or a member of your family gets sick.” He went on to say that he is “sick and tired of seeing over 500,000 Americans declare bankruptcy each year because they cannot pay off the outrageous cost of a medical emergency or a hospital stay.”

“In the wealthiest country in the history of the world,” he went on to say, “42 percent of Americans should not be losing their entire life savings two years after being diagnosed with cancer.” (Read more from “Bernie Goes Full Oprah: Promises to Erase Billions in Medical Debt” HERE)

President Trump: Stronger Background Checks Would Not Stop Attacks

While speaking to reporters Sunday morning President Trump said stronger background checks would not have stopped the mass public attacks our nation has witnessed over the past six or seven years.

Trump said, “I will say that for the most part, sadly if you look at the last four or five going back even five or six or seven years, for the most part, as strong as you make your background checks, they would not have stopped any of it.” . . .

On August 20, Breitbart News reported Trump saying, “We have very, very strong background checks right now. But we have, sort of, missing areas and areas that don’t complete the whole circle. And we’re looking at different things.”

On August 19, Politico quoted Trump saying, “Congress is going to be reporting back to me with ideas. And they’ll come in from Democrats and Republicans. And I’ll look at it very strongly. But just remember, we already have a lot of background checks.”

NBC reports Trump saying the shooting incidents in the Midland-Odessa area do not change discussions about guns. Trump said, “We are in the process of dealing with Democrats and Republicans, and there’s a big package of things that’s going to be put before them by a lot of different people I’ve been speaking to a lot of senators, a lot of house members, Republicans, Democrats — this really hasn’t changed anything, we’re doing a package and we’ll see how it comes about.” (Read more from “President Trump: Stronger Background Checks Would Not Stop Attacks” HERE)

Texas Lawmaker Delivers Blistering Rebuke to Anti-Gun Democrats, Media

Rep. Matt Schaefer (R-Tyler) delivered a blistering rebuke to Second Amendment-hating forces in the media and Democratic Party on Saturday in response to the tragedy in Odessa, Texas, saying that he will not cave and surrender the rights of law-abiding Americans. . .

Schaefer’s tweets came in response to the usual choir of voices from the far-left who demand action in the wake of tragedies, yet never have any solutions to address the problem.

Texas loosened restrictions on firearms on Sunday, which was planned long before this weekend’s tragedy. (Read more from “Texas Lawmaker Delivers Blistering Rebuke to Anti-Gun Democrats, Media” HERE)

What We Know About the Shooting in Midland and Odessa, Texas

By Townhall. Police believe there was only one suspect in the shooting, despite initial reports that there were two shooters.

“Initially it was thought that there may have been multiple shooters, and that is because at some point this subject changed vehicles. We’re now confident that there was just the one actor,” Odessa Police Chief Michael Gerke said during a Sunday press conference. . .

According to CNN, the shooter has been identified as 36-year-old Seth Ator. He used an “AR-style weapon” during the attack. . .

Saturday night’s tragic shooting in Odessa and Midland, Texas began when Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers attempted to make a routine traffic stop. The gunman pulled out a rifle, pointed it towards his rear window and fired at the two troopers. One trooper was shot.

The gunman fled the scene and continued shooting at innocent bystanders. He shot at civilians along East Loop 338 and I-20 before stealing a U.S. Postal Service truck. He then used the USPS truck to carry out his rampage along State Highway 191, KOSA-TV reported. The shooting eventually ended at the Cinergy Movie Theater when the gunman shot at two police officers, one from the Odessa Police Department, the other from the Midland Police Department. Police returned fire and killed the suspect. (Read more from “What We Know About the Shooting in Midland and Odessa, Texas” HERE)

Police Still Don’t Have a Motive for the Shootings, Source Says

By CNN. A law enforcement official tells CNN authorities have not yet been unable to identify a motive in the Midland-Odessa shootings. . .

Dustin Fawcett told CNN he was with his 3-week-old daughter at Starbucks on Saturday, about 40-50 yards away from 42nd Street, when chaos erupted.

He said 42nd Street is the town’s busiest intersection. The light was red before the shooting so cars were waiting there.

“Sitting ducks,” Fawcett said. (Read more from “Police Still Don’t Have a Motive for the Shootings, Source Says” HERE)

Death Toll in Odessa Shooting Rises to 7, a 17-Month-Old Child Among Those Injured

By NBC News. A 17-month-old girl was among the 22 injured in a shooting rampage around Odessa, Texas, as the death toll increased to seven victims Sunday. The gunman was killed in a shootout with police.

The little girl, Anderson Davis, suffered shrapnel in her right chest and has a hole through her bottom lip and tongue after being shot in the face, according to her family. Eric Finley, marketing director of Texas’ UMC Health System, said Anderson was in satisfactory condition at a hospital in Lubbock.

“We praise God for walking beside us during this time and our prayers go out to all of the families that are walking this same walk,” Anderson’s parents said in a statement. “We hurt so badly for the families whose loved ones didn’t survive this tragedy. GOP Senators Respond To Dems’ Threat Against The Supreme Court

Earlier this month, a group of Democratic senators signed an amicus curae brief in New York State Rifle and Pistol Association v. City of New York, defending New York City’s blatant attack on the Second Amendment. For years, those who live in NYC could transport handguns, as long as it was to a few select gun ranges in the area. If you were a gun owner in NYC and wanted to take your firearm outside of city limits to a different gun range, that wasn’t allowed.

New York State and City have since changed their statutes and now allow gun owners to transport firearms throughout the city. NYC is now arguing that the Supreme Court does not need to hear the case because it’s “moot.”

According to the group of Democratic senators, the Supreme Court should turn down the case because it’s political in nature. At the end of their letter, the Democratic senators essentially told SCOTUS to dismiss the case or they would move to pack the High Court.

A group of 56 Republican senators, lead by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), sent their own letter to the Supreme Court, urging the justices not to be impacted by Democrats’ empty-handed threat.

“The Democrats’ threat to pack the Court if it doesn’t rule the way they want is synonymous in American history with the idea of an unprincipled power grab. Instead of improving their arguments, our colleagues seem determined to undermine our constitutional structure,” McConnell said in a statement. “Senate Republicans reject this dangerous and opportunistic assault on our independent judiciary and will continue to uphold our oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” (Read more from “GOP Senators Respond To Dems’ Threat Against The Supreme Court” HERE)
