Graham Invites Special Counsel Mueller to Testify…Under One Condition

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham sent a letter to Special Counsel Robert Mueller Friday afternoon. In it, Graham invited Mueller to testify in front of the Committee if he believes Attorney General William Barr has somehow misrepresented his investigation.

From the letter:

On the eve of Attorney General Barr’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, several news outlets broke a story alleging that you believed Attorney General Barr’s March 24, 2019, letter to this Committee “did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance” of your investigation. Of course, Attorney General Barr has since released your report to the public, including your executive summaries, with redactions deemed necessary by both you and the Department of Justice, and testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

In response to questions by Senator Blumenthal, the Attorney General testified in essence that you told him in a phone call that you did not challenge the accuracy of the Attorney General’s summary of your report’s principal conclusions, but rather you wanted more of the report, particularly the executive summaries concerning obstruction of justice, to be released promptly. In particular, Attorney General Barr testified that you believed media coverage of your investigation was unfair without the public release of those summaries.

Another Ridiculous Candidate Is Supposedly Jumping Into the 2020 Race

Mayor de Blasio will jump into the 2020 presidential race next week, according to four people with knowledge of his plans, entering a crowded field of 21 other Democratic hopefuls and two Republicans — dead last. . .

And not a second too soon. The last-minute announcement by the mayor — whose reputation for being late was cemented by his tardiness to a 2014 event honoring victims of American Airlines Flight 587 — has many politicos scratching their heads.

“Whatever theoretical bases he may target are already being courted by nationally recognized figures,” one of the sources said. “He may have a shot if every Democratic candidate is caught sending racy selfies to minors.” . . .

Fairness PAC spokesman Mike Casca — who took an unpaid leave of absence from City Hall last month to work for the committee — said “no decision” has been made yet but wouldn’t explicitly deny that de Blasio was announcing a campaign next week. . .

Two other City Hall staffers — deputy press secretary Olivia Lapeyrolerie and deputy director of executive operations Alexandra Kopel — will take leaves to work for the PAC and use their vacation days. De Blasio’s intergovernmental affairs director Jon Paul Lupo is already using time off to work on the nascent campaign. 2 Californians Killed in Drunk-Driving Wrecks With Illegal Aliens

Raul Gulliver and Margaret Abudawood are two Californians who were killed within hours of each other in different parts of the state by drunk drivers. Both of the suspects are illegal aliens.

The media make sure that every American knows the name of every illegal immigrant who dies in DHS custody. But they do everything they can to cover up the number of people in America killed by illegal aliens who should never have been in the country. Raul Gulliver and Margaret Abudawood are names that should be known to all Americans.

Raul Gulliver, 34, from Riverside County, was riding his bike Saturday morning when he was struck head-on by a pickup truck driven by Hector Manuel Polanco, a 32-year-old illegal alien from Mexico. Polanco was charged with two felonies. Not a single local media report mentioned the fact that Gulliver was an illegal alien or that ICE had placed a detainer on him. But this week, ICE spokesperson Lori Haley in California confirmed to me that ICE had placed a detainer on Polanco on April 27.

In Fairfield, California, a day later, 31-year-old Arnulfo Santos-Reyes, a previously deported illegal alien from Mexico, allegedly ran a red light and crashed into a Toyota Sienna occupied by three people, killing 85-year-old Margaret Abudawood. The two others in the vehicle were brought to a hospital with major injuries. Santos-Reyes is being charged with felony DUI, vehicular manslaughter, and manslaughter with gross negligence after allegedly driving with both drugs and alcohol in his system. He was also driving without a license, even though California has openly granted licenses to one million illegal aliens. He is being jailed in a Solano County facility on more than $200,000 bond, according to county records.

Once again, not a single local media report mentioned his immigration status or the fact that ICE placed a detainer on him. In fact, the only article to even mention immigration status was one for the Solano County Daily Republic, which noted, “Questions about the citizenship of Santos-Reyes have been raised,” but then wrongly concluded based on a conversation with the Solano County Sheriff’s Office that ICE had not placed a hold on Santos-Reyes.

Indeed, an ICE hold was placed on Santos-Reyes on Sunday, April 28, according to ICE’s regional spokesman, Paul Prince. “U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) lodged a detainer, April 28, 2019, on a previously removed Mexican national Arnulfo Santos-Reyes, following his arrest by local law enforcement in Fairfield, California, for charges including gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated,” said Prince.

It turns out that this is not his first criminal charge in this country, aside from coming here illegally. “ICE initially took custody of Santos-Reyes, Aug. 13, 2013, after he was arrested by local law enforcement on criminal charges,” said Prince. “He was released on an immigration bond pending removal proceedings before an immigration judge. On Mar. 18, 2015, an immigration judge ordered Santos-Reyes removed to Mexico after he failed to appear for his court hearing. ICE later located and arrested Santos-Reyes and removed him to Mexico Oct. 5, 2017.”

Under California law, local police departments are not allowed to inquire about immigration status or notify ICE they are holding any criminal aliens. ICE must find them on its own. This has created a systemic magnet for criminal aliens to remain in the state or continue returning even after being deported, as appears to be the case with Santos-Reyes. Now, an 85-year-old Californian has died a tragic death as a result of the epidemic of drunk driving among illegal immigrants.

Prince noted that “ICE remains committed to professionally and equitably enforcing the laws of the United States, and continuing its work with other law enforcement agencies to enhance public safety and national security.” Indeed, ICE has sought to make deporting those with DUI convictions a priority, as witnessed in its recent operation in New Jersey resulting in the arrest of 123 criminal aliens, the majority of whom were convicted of driving offenses.

Americans being killed by illegal aliens, particularly as a result of drunk driving, often go unrecorded and unreported in crime statistics and media accounts. Recently, there has been a rash of Americans killed by illegal alien alleged drunk drivers in Tennessee, Minnesota and Alabama.

Just this week, a Guatemalan national was sentenced to four years in prison in Virginia for a drunk-driving incident last year that killed a four-year-old boy and seriously injured both parents and two siblings. Despite 10 convictions on driving and drug offenses between 2014 and 2018, Jose Armelio Gonzalez-Flores was allowed to remain in the country and was even granted DACA status.

By the end of the week, most Americans will know that one illegal alien child died of natural causes in the custody of HHS after being transferred by ICE at the border, but almost nobody will know about Raul Gulliver and Margaret Abudawood. They were allegedly killed by illegal aliens who could have been removed if ICE were allowed to do its job and if states would actually work with ICE to simply root out the criminal elements among the illegal immigrants. And if Border Patrol wasn’t tied down with the endless flow of Central American families, agents would likely be able to catch more of those criminals returning after being deported.

The looming question is how many Americans are killed or seriously victimized by illegal aliens on a weekly basis without anyone ever reporting it? (For more from the author of “2 Californians Killed in Drunk-Driving Wrecks With Illegal Aliens” please click HERE)

Bombshell Collusion: DNC Reached out for Dirt on Trump, Ukraine Embassy Confirms

By The Hill. The boomerang from the Democratic Party’s failed attempt to connect Donald Trump to Russia’s 2016 election meddling is picking up speed, and its flight path crosses right through Moscow’s pesky neighbor, Ukraine. That is where there is growing evidence a foreign power was asked, and in some cases tried, to help Hillary Clinton.

In its most detailed account yet, Ukraine’s embassy in Washington says a Democratic National Committee insider during the 2016 election solicited dirt on Donald Trump’s campaign chairman and even tried to enlist the country’s president to help.

In written answers to questions, Ambassador Valeriy Chaly’s office says DNC contractor Alexandra Chalupa sought information from the Ukrainian government on Paul Manafort’s dealings inside the country, in hopes of forcing the issue before Congress. . .

Chaly says that, at the time of the contacts in 2016, the embassy knew Chalupa primarily as a Ukrainian-American activist, and learned only later of her ties to the DNC. He says the embassy considered her requests an inappropriate solicitation of interference in the U.S. election.

“The Embassy got to know Ms. Chalupa because of her engagement with Ukrainian and other diasporas in Washington D.C., and not in her DNC capacity. We’ve learned about her DNC involvement later,” Chaly said in a statement issued by his embassy. “We were surprised to see Alexandra’s interest in Mr. Paul Manafort’s case. It was her own cause. The Embassy representatives unambiguously refused to get involved in any way, as we were convinced that this is a strictly U.S. domestic matter. Ukraine Embassy Says DNC Operative Reached out for Dirt on Trump in 2016

By Fox News. Ukraine’s embassy wrote that a Democratic National Committee (DNC) insider reached out in 2016 seeking dirt on President Trump’s team, according to a bombshell new report Thursday that further fueled Republican allegations that Democrats were the ones improperly colluding with foreign agents during the campaign.

Ambassador Valeriy Chaly said DNC contractor Alexandra Chalupa pushed for Ukraine’s then-President Petro Poroshenko to mention Paul Manafort’s ties to Ukraine publicly during a visit to the U.S., and sought detailed financial information on his dealings in the country, The Hill reported. At the time, Manafort was Trump’s campaign chairman. . .

Chaly continued: “All ideas floated by Alexandra were related to approaching a Member of Congress with a purpose to initiate hearings on Paul Manafort or letting an investigative journalist ask President Poroshenko a question about Mr. Manafort during his public talk in Washington, D.C.” . . .

However, Chalupa acknowledged that she met with “representatives of the Ukrainian Embassy,” but said the topic of conversation was an “Immigrant Heritage Month women’s networking event.” She also told CNN that when Manafort was named Trump’s campaign chairman, she flagged for the DNC that Manafort had worked with the Russian-backed Viktor Yanukovych, Ukrainian’s president at the time.

Federal Election Commission (FEC) records confirm that Chalupa’s firm provided various services to the DNC in 2016, and that the DNC paid Chalupa more than $412,000 from 2004 to 2016. Chalupa had other clients besides the DNC during that period. (Read more from “Ukraine Embassy Says DNC Operative Reached out for Dirt on Trump in 2016” HERE)

Border Patrol Is Supposedly About to Be Given the Authority It Needs to Handle the Border Crisis

There is a border crisis. Sorry Democrats, it’s an actual crisis. It’s been one for decades, which has reached fever pitch in recent months. Migrants are overwhelming border enforcement agents. The Department of Homeland Security, which recently underwent a shakeup, says it needs more money to handle this amount of migrants. The number of apprehensions has approached or reached into the six-figure territory on a monthly basis. Even The Washington Post and The New York Times have reported on the situation. CNN was forced to admit there’s a border crisis. Illegal aliens crossing the border interrupted Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo’s interview with Border Patrol. They all come and claim asylum, which is part of the problem. Now, according to Anna Giaritelli of The Washington Examiner, there are reports that Border Patrol will soon be given on-the-spot authority to decide asylum claims:

The Department of Homeland Security is racing to implement a plan that would give federal law enforcement on the border the authority to conduct interviews with asylum seekers who fear returning to their home countries, according to two sources with first-hand knowledge of the plan.

Under the pending procedural change, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services officers would train Border Patrol agents on the southern border how to conduct “credible fear interviews,” which immigrants must pass to go on to claim asylum. Agents would conduct the interviews shortly after apprehending people who have illegally crossed from Mexico to the U.S

Dem Rep Defends Shocking Remarks, Adds Trump Jr Should Have Been Aborted

Democratic Alabama State Rep. John Rogers went viral on Thursday for making some awful remarks about abortion.

“Some kids are unwanted, so you kill them now or you kill them later,” he stated while filibustering a pro-life bill in Alabama. “You bring them in the world unwanted, unloved, you send them to the electric chair. So, you kill them now or you kill them later.”

Just about everyone, including Donald Trump Jr., rebuked Rogers for his callousness. He concluded that what Rogers said was even worse than Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s infamous comments on babies who survive abortions.

How did Rogers respond? With another shocking remark.

FBI Attempted to Use ‘Attractive’ Woman for Information From Trump Aide

After two years, over 2,800 subpoenas, and nearly 500 search warrants and witness interviews, Special Counsel Robert Mueller “did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its efforts to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election.” While the “Trump-Russia collusion” conspiracy theory that has largely driven the mainstream news cycle for two years is dead, the story behind the investigation is getting juicier by the day.

More details about how U.S. intelligence attempted to infiltrate, or “spy” on, the Trump campaign have come to light, including that the FBI used an “attractive” female undercover investigator in an ultimately fruitless attempt to draw out some relevant “collusion”-related information from Trump aide George Papadopoulos.

“The conversation at a London bar in September 2016 took a strange turn when the woman sitting across from George Papadopoulos, a Trump campaign adviser, asked a direct question: Was the Trump campaign working with Russia?” The New York Times reported Thursday. “The woman had set up the meeting to discuss foreign policy issues. But she was actually a government investigator posing as a research assistant, according to people familiar with the operation. The F.B.I. sent her to London as part of the counterintelligence inquiry opened that summer to better understand the Trump campaign’s links to Russia.”

The role of the woman, who told Papadopoulos her name was “Azra Turk,” is “one previously unreported detail of an operation that has become a political flash point in the face of accusations by President Trump and his allies that American law enforcement and intelligence officials spied on his campaign to undermine his electoral chances,” the Times notes.

Trump has decried the FBI’s investigation into his campaign as “Spygate” — and the name seems more appropriate with each new revelation. The Times admits as much, noting that the “Azra Turk” wrinkle could give Trump and his defenders “ammunition” about their “spying” allegations. White House May Be Looking to Make NSA Wiretapping Permanent

The White House is reportedly seeking to make a temporary surveillance law, that enabled the National Security Agency to collect cell phone metadata in bulk, permanent in December, even though the NSA has abandoned the program.

The Washington Post and Greenwich Time both report that the White House has been discussing plans to extend a 2015 revision to the USA Patriot Act, which allowed the NSA to collect “metadata” from Americans’ cell phones without warrants.

The program, revealed by then-NSA contractor Edward Snowden, was designed to help the NSA ferret out Americans who had contact with terror cells abroad, and collected basic information about millions of telephone calls made between Americans at home and abroad.

Snowden, of course, is now living in exile in Russia after revealing the metadata collection program, then known as PRISM, to journalists from The Guardian. Snowden had come into contact with information about the program while working for a string of defense contractors who either helped develop or administer the program.

At the time PRISM was revealed, the government contended that the metadata collection program did not require law enforcement to pursue individual warrants since the information gleaned from the program didn’t contain details of what was said in the calls themselves — just date, time, duration, and destination information. Several courts, over the years, have disagreed, chipping away at the program and the government’s self-given blanket permission to spy on American citizens, but only when the plaintiff has provided proof that they were the subject of a warrantless NSA wiretap. DOJ Sets Pelosi Straight After Attack Against AG Barr

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Thursday that Attorney General William Barr lied to Congress, something she noted would be a “crime.” The Department of Justice has called these accusations “baseless,” “reckless,” “irresponsible,” and “false.”

On Wednesday, Barr testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee. He had been asked to answer questions related to special counsel Robert Mueller’s final report on the investigation into whether or not the Trump campaign colluded with Russia in the months leading up to the 2016 presidential election.

During the hearing, Senate Democrats accused Barr of covering for President Donald Trump instead of respecting the integrity of the investigation. Barr told the committee that Trump “fully cooperated with Mueller’s investigation,” a point Democrats contested since Trump himself refused to be interviewed by Mueller. Also under scrutiny was Barr’s summary of the Mueller report, which Mueller had said in a letter did not adequately reflect his results. The full Mueller report, with redactions, was released more than three weeks after Barr’s summary.

Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, told Barr in the hearing that “America deserves better” than him and that he “should resign.”

Barr, who had appeared before the Senate committee voluntarily, opted not to return for a second day of questioning on Thursday before the House Judiciary Committee. So that hearing proceeded without Barr, with a ceramic chicken sitting on the table near where he would have sat — a mocking gesture from Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn.

While several Democratic leaders have accused Barr of going out of his way to defend Trump, Pelosi took things one step further.

“What is deadly serious about it is the attorney general of the United States of America is not telling the truth to the Congress of the United States. That’s a crime,” she said.

“He lied to Congress. If anybody else did that, it would be considered a crime. Nobody is above the law.”

But the DOJ scoffed at Pelosi’s accusations. Justice Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec told CNBC that Pelosi’s “baseless attack on the Attorney General” was “reckless, irresponsible and false.” Conservative Review has reached out to the Department of Justice for further comment. Lefties Are Clinging to This ‘Bombshell’ Mueller Letter but They Get Stopped In Their Tracks

By Daily Wire. After Attorney General William Barr sent his four-page letter to Congress with the key findings of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, Mueller sent a letter to Barr explaining he was unhappy with how the media was characterizing what took place.

“The summary letter the Department sent to Congress and released to the public late in the afternoon of March 24 did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this Office’s work and conclusions. We communicated that concern to the Department on the morning of March 25,” Mueller wrote. “This is now public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation. This threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the Department appointed the Special Counsel: to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations.” . . .

Wednesday night, the Washington Post and New York Times clung to this narrative to Mueller criticized Barr’s letter on the investigation’s key findings. Their reports launched a news cycle focused solely on what was in the letter, despite both outlets omitting the full letter from their reports (coincidental? I think not).

House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows made an important point: why is the mainstream media clinging to this notion that Mueller was unhappy with the tone of his findings? The full report was made public two weeks ago. The point is rather moot.

AG William Barr testifies before Senate Judiciary Committee over Mueller report handling

By Fox News. Attorney General William Barr testified Wednesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee and faced questions over the handling of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia report and accusations from Democrats that he sought to present the investigation’s findings in President Trump’s favor.

Barr was grilled over a Washington Post article that said Mueller contacted Barr to express concerns about the public summary his office put out in March. (Read more from “AG William Barr testifies before Senate Judiciary Committee over Mueller report handling” HERE)
