New Poll Results Freaking out Democrats

By Townhall. The liberal mainstream news media have a narrative about Donald Trump and they do not deviate. The constant refrain is that the President is unhinged, idiotic, tyrannical and especially racist. Recently, the President was labeled a racist when he criticized CNN’s Don Lemon and NBA star LeBron James. Their latest obsession is the new book written by fired White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman.

In the book, Omarosa accuses the President of being a racist and using the “N-word” while hosting The Apprentice on NBC-TV. The President’s inflammatory language was supposedly captured on a tape that has been withheld from the public. Nevertheless, the show’s former producer, Mark Burnett, denied that such a tape exists. The President also tweeted that he doesn’t “have that word in my vocabulary, and never have.”

Despite the denials, the media will continue to focus on Omarosa as a way of damaging the President who they love to hate. According to the Media Research Center, the coverage of the President by the major networks has been extremely biased. At least, 90% of the coverage has been negative, much worse than the positive press they showered on Barack Obama.

In this toxic media environment, it is amazing that a new Rasmussen poll shows that Trump has a 50% overall approval rating. This is higher than Obama’s rating at a similar point in his presidency.

Among the findings is an interesting trend among African American voters. Despite the constant media portrayal of the President as a flaming racist, the August 15, 2018 Rasmussen poll showed that 36% of African American respondents gave the President a positive approval rating. In one year, the President’s African American approval rating increased by 17% in the Rasmussen poll. (Read more from “New Poll Results Freaking out Democrats” HERE)

Trump at 36 Percent Approval Among African-Americans, New Poll Finds

By USA Today. Even as cable news networks debate reports of the existence of a recording of President Donald Trump using a racial slur, a new poll from Rasmussen Reports says that the president’s approval rating among African-Americans is at 36 percent, nearly double his support at this time last year.

“Today’s @realDonaldTrump approval ratings among black voters: 36%,” Rasmussen said in a tweet. “This day last year: 19%.”

That is a staggeringly high number for a man who only won 8 percent of the African-American vote in 2016.

It is even more unexpected given the president’s rocky history on matters related to race, including his current nasty feud with former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman, who has alleged Trump said “n word” on the set of the reality-TV show “The Apprentice.” . . .

Charlie Kirk, the founder of the conservative campus group Turning Point USA, cited the poll as evidence that Trump “is breaking the Democrat party as we know it.” (Read more from “Trump at 36 Percent Approval Among African-Americans, New Poll Finds” HERE)

The Dossier: Trump Plays Hardball With Turkey; Manafort Trial Ends

Gauntlet thrown: Trump demands release of U.S. pastor held in Turkey

In a Thursday evening tweet, President Trump expressed his frustration with the nation of Turkey and the Erdogan regime’s imprisonment of American Pastor Andrew Brunson.

The president tweeted:

“Turkey has taken advantage of the United States for many years. They are now holding our wonderful Christian Pastor, who I must now ask to represent our Country as a great patriot hostage. We will pay nothing for the release of an innocent man, but we are cutting back on Turkey!”

It is likely that Pastor Brunson is being used as a bargaining chip to negotiate the extradition of Fethullah Gulen, a cleric living in self-imposed exile in Pennsylvania and one of the chief rivals of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Erdogan has claimed, without much evidence, that Gulen is behind plots to overthrow his rule in Ankara.

As Turkey continues to devolve into an Islamic authoritarian regime, Ankara progresses in distancing itself from the United States. The technical NATO ally has found new partners in American adversaries such as Russia and Iran, while cozying up to rogue actors like Qatar.

A cautionary tale: Yazidi woman flees Germany after encountering ISIS captor

A young Yazidi woman and her family have been forced to flee Germany after its open immigration system allowed one of her captors to secure refugee status inside the country.

“I ran away from Iraq so I would not see that ugly face and forget anything that reminds me of it, but I was shocked to see him in Germany,” Ashwaq Haji Hamid, the Yazidi refugee, told InfoMigrants.

Hamid is just one victim of the open migration system in Germany, which allows hundreds of thousands of Middle Easterns to flood into the country — and many other European nations — completely unchecked.

The story from Germany is a cautionary tale for what open borders and unchecked migration can look like. Our refugee vetting system is very imperfect, as shown through the arrest of an ISIS terrorist in Sacramento this week. The man slipped through the U.S. refugee vetting process, as authorities later found out that he was an ISIS jihadi when living in Iraq.

Manafort trial comes to a close

The jury is currently deliberating whether or not to convict Paul Manafort on several charges related to bank and tax fraud. Although Mueller has been tasked with investigating Russian actions and interference related to the 2016 election, none of the charges from Mueller’s prosecutors have anything to do with Russian collusion or any of the events surrounding his short stint as President Trump’s election campaign chairman.

Mueller is now in the fifteenth month of his investigation into Trump-Russia collusion. He has yet to charge a single member of President Trump’s campaign or transition team with anything related to Russian collusion.

POTUS may revoke DOJ official Bruce Ohr’s clearance

Bruce Ohr is believed to be a central player in the laundering of the anti-Trump dossier — which came from paid Clinton operatives — into the Department of Justice. There’s also evidence that he frequently communicated with foreign spy Christopher Steele, who produced the Trump-Russia dossier for the Clinton campaign.

President Trump suggested Friday that Ohr may have his clearance revoked imminently.

When asked about Ohr’s clearance, the president responded: “I suspect I’ll be taking it away very quickly. For him to be in the Justice Department and doing what he did, that is a disgrace.” (For more from the author of “The Dossier: Trump Plays Hardball With Turkey; Manafort Trial Ends” please click HERE)

The Home Stretch: Big Numbers to Know From the Week in Politics

The weekend’s on tap. In spite of the adjoining photograph, we’ve already had our say on Omarosa. Same with John Brennan (here’s one more take, for your consideration). Now, off we go…

[40,000] – The approximate number of employees at one firm who’ve now received bonuses, thanks to the GOP tax reform law. Every Congressional Democrat opposed the bill — with party leaders sneering at the “crumbs” from which workers are benefiting and rolling their eyes at exceptionally robust employment figures. Some politicians may not be impressed by any of this, but I’d bet most of these folks are:

[26] – As of yesterday, two more than two dozen Circuit Court judges have now been confirmed during the Trump era, far outpacing other recent presidents’ clips on this important front. We wrote about these developments earlier today, but as a follow-on, please enjoy this latest expression of impotent shouting from a top former spokesman for Hillary Clinton’s failed 2016 campaign:

. . .

[Two] – That’s how many weeks it took after the Supreme Court handed down its 7-2 Masterpiece Cakeshop decision for Colorado’s Grand Wizards of Right Thinking (known to some as the “Civil Rights Commission”) to issue another authoritarian decree against the exact same small business. The High Court rebuked the commission for its heavy-handed approach to compelled speech, which was laden with anti-Christian animus. Undeterred — or even defiant and resolute to prove the Court’s point — these unaccountable, miniature autocrats have this time sided with an obvious troll, prompting yet another lawsuit. This Republican Is Defending Trump’s Brennan Ordeal

Earlier this week President Trump officially pulled former CIA director John Brennan’s security clearance, citing a number of reasons for doing so.

“At this point in my administration any benefits that senior officials might glean from consultations with Mr. Brennan are now outweighed by the risks posed by his erratic conduct and behavior,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders announced from the briefing room on behalf of the president.

Before President Trump made the decision to strip Brennan of his clearance, Republican Senator Rand Paul publicly backed the idea and had a conversation about it at the White House.

Meanwhile, President Trump may pull the security clearances for a number of other former and current government officials. Those on the list include fired FBI director James Comey, current DOJ official Bruce Ohr and former DIA director James Clapper. Facebook Censors Videos on ‘Masculine Men,’ ‘Moderate Muslims’

Conservative non-profit group PragerU appears to be facing Facebook censorship, as many recent posts from group are suffering from a 99.9999 percent drop in engagement based on Facebook’s own dashboard. The Social Media Masters of the Universe also pulled down two PragerU videos, which it labeled “hate speech.”

Echoing the apparent page limitation of conservative commentating duo Diamond and Silk, the conservative non-profit group PragerU — which produces educational videos on conservative issues — appears to have found its Facebook page’s reach drastically limited. The group’s Facebook page boasts three million followers, but its most recent posts have been seen by almost none of its followers, according to the Facebook dashboard.

PragerU social media influencer Will Witt posted a screenshot of the Facebook page’s dashboard which shows a number of statistics relating to posts from the page, including the reach posts have and how many users have clicked on links in the posts. According to the photos posted by Witt, PragerU’s last nine posts have reached between one and three of their followers. Previous posts have reached between 50,000 and 95,000 of PragerU’s followers.

Witt also posted a number of screenshots of PragerU videos that have been removed by Facebook for “hate speech.” The videos that were removed include one titled “Make Men Masculine Again,” and “Where are the Moderate Muslims?”

Former CBS News Reporter Delivers Kill Shot to Liberal Media Narrative That Trump Is Silencing John Brennan

By Townhall. Former CIA Director John Brennan no longer has a security clearance. It’s been revoked. He’s out of the club. Oh, and you bet the liberal news media was all over this, once again going into meltdown mode over something that was perfectly within the president’s authority. But like with anything that Trump does, we’re always on the verge of a total constitutional crisis…in CNN-land. Guy also wrote that Brennan’s pervasive partisan antics warranted his clearance being revoked. Oh, but it’s all politically motivated, you see (via Politico):

President Donald Trump’s decision to revoke former CIA director John Brennan’s security clearance is a “politically motivated” attempt to silence those who disagree with the president, Brennan said in a New York Times op-ed on Thursday.

“Mr. Trump clearly has become more desperate to protect himself and those close to him,” Brennan said. “which is why he made the politically motivated decision to revoke my security clearance in an attempt to scare into silence others who might dare to challenge him.”

Brennan’s op-ed published Thursday, one day after the White House announced the president had revoked the former CIA director’s security clearance and placed the clearances of several current and former officials under review. Brennan, who has often been critical of Trump, helmed the intelligence agency from 2013 to 2017.

Wait, you’re saying there’s a campaign to silence you, yet you can still say whatever you want, right? You just did. And the anti-Trump media are going to give you even more media its and exposure over this security clearance nonsense. Former CBS News investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson also torpedoed this absurd narrative.

Trump Tears Into John Brennan in Tweetstorm After Revoking Former CIA Chief’s Security Clearance

By Newsweek. President Donald Trump embarked on a Twitter spree on Wednesday evening, sharing criticisms of former CIA Director John Brennan as they aired on Fox News, before unleashing a string of commentary on topics covered by the broadcaster.

“John Brennan is a stain on the country, we deserve better than this,” Trump tweeted, quoting Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent and author of a new book, Spygate: The Attempted Sabotage of Donald J. Trump, who frequently appears on Fox News as a conservative commentator.

“Thank you Dan,” Trump added. “Good luck with the book!” (Read more from “Trump Tears Into John Brennan in Tweetstorm After Revoking Former CIA Chief’s Security Clearance” HERE)

Pro-Abortion Bernie Sanders: There Is Something Morally Wrong With the Country

Socialist Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders trashed America on Wednesday while downplaying the debate between the ideas behind socialism and capitalism.

Appearing on “CBS This Morning,” Sanders told co-host John Dickerson that he was not concerned that millennials are unable to name someone whom they think is the leader of the Democratic party. . .

Sanders continued by bashing America, claiming that there is something morally wrong with the country.

“But I will also say this, John, I think that there is growing resentment, not only among young people who in many cases are going to have a lower standard of living than their parents, I think that there is an understanding or something fundamentally immoral and wrong about a nation in which we have three people who own more wealth than the bottom half of the American people,” Sanders continued. “That does not make sense.”

At the very end of the segment, co-host Bianna Golodryga quickly interjected that many Americans want to know how Sanders plans to pay for all of his ideas but then ended the segment, saying, “We’ve run out of time, Senator.” (Read more from “Pro-Abortion Bernie Sanders: There Is Something Morally Wrong With the Country” HERE)

Your Hardworking Senate Passes Pro-Media Resolution: ‘Not the Enemy of the People’

The United States Senate took a rhetorical stand against President Donald Trump Thursday, passing a resolution defending the press and declaring that the press is “not the enemy of the people.”

This nonbinding resolution passed with unanimous consent by voice vote and was introduced by Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

This resolution follows tweets Trump sent Thursday morning criticizing the “FAKE NEWS” media.

It’s nice to know the United States Senate called off the August recess to stay in Washington and pass virtue-signaling resolutions offered by Democrats to throw shade at the president.

Now how about the senators get to work securing the border and addressing the staggering national debt? (For more from the author of “Your Hardworking Senate Passes Pro-Media Resolution: ‘Not the Enemy of the People’” please click HERE)

Ben Rhodes Invokes Bin Laden to Shame Trump — Then the Seal Who Shot Him Spoke Up

Former Obama foreign policy advisor Ben Rhodes took a shot at President Donald Trump on Wednesday after learning that the White House had revoked former CIA Director John Brennan’s security clearance.

Citing Brennan’s involvement in the raid that killed 9/11 terrorist Osama Bin Laden, Rhodes seemed to suggest that proved Brennan was above reproach.

ISIS Fighter Wanted for Murder Posed as a Refugee to Get Into the U.S.

An ISIS fighter who posed as a refugee to get into the United States was arrested in California by FBI agents this week.

Before his detainment, forty-five year old Omar Ameen was wanted for the murder of an Iraqi police officer and officials allege he engaged in a number of terrorist activities in his home country. . .

“Ameen, originally of Rawah, in the Anbar province of Iraq, fled Iraq following the alleged murder, and later settled in Sacramento as a purported refugee. It is alleged that Ameen’s family supported and assisted the installation of al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) in Rawah, and that Ameen was a member of AQI and ISIS,” the Justice Department released. “It is also alleged that he participated in various activities in support of those terrorist organizations, including helping to plant improvised explosive devices, and committing the murder that is the subject of the extradition request. Ameen concealed his membership in those terrorist groups when he applied for refugee status, and later when he applied for a green card in the United States.” . . .

“The Iraqi arrest warrant and extradition request allege that after the town of Rawah, Iraq fell to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) on June 21, 2014, Ameen entered the town with a caravan of ISIS vehicles and drove to the house of the victim, who had served as an officer in the Rawah Police Department,” DOJ says. “On the evening of June 22, 2014, after the caravan arrived at the victim’s house, Ameen and other members of the convoy allegedly opened fire on the victim. Ameen then allegedly fired his weapon at the victim while the victim was on the ground, killing him.” (Read more from “ISIS Fighter Wanted for Murder Posed as a Refugee to Get Into the U.S.” HERE)
