Writer: ‘I’d Rather My Daughter Dated an MS-13 Than a Member of the Republican Party’

MS-13 is a gang whose motto is: “Kill, rape, control.” So, freelance writer Rob Rousseau drew headlines on Monday when he announced on Twitter: “I would rather my daughter dated a member of MS-13 than a member of the Republican Party.” . . .

Turns out, Rob doesn’t even have a daughter. Also turns out, Rousseau fashions himself as a troll who loves to get right-wingers worked up.

Rousseau says on his Twitter profile that he’s a “gun expert, mediocre musician, and cool dad,” in addition to his credentials as a writer for VICE Sports and Paste Magazine.

In the profile, Rousseau also posts his phone number, which might change after his Twitter reactions — considering another tweet where he admitted: “Think I’m going to go ahead and close up the old DMs now” after posting a series of messages directed toward him that were seen as threats. . .

What’s interesting, is the fact that Rousseau admits in his Paste piece that when he Tweeted that “AR stands for assault rifle,” he “didn’t end up learning what the AR in AR-15 stands for” and that he “didn’t really care.” It’s also quite evident that either he’s not a gun expert, or that’s also a joke. ‘We’ve Devalued Life’: Texas Lt. Gov Says Abortion, Violent Games and Divorce Play Part in Shootings

By ABC News. The Texas lieutenant governor, speaking two days after 10 people were killed in a school shooting in his state, said abortion, divorce and violent video games and movies show that ‘we have devalued life,’ which he pointed to as a cause of school shootings.

Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick told ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos on “This Week” Sunday, “We have devalued life, whether it’s through abortion, whether it’s the breakup of families, through violent movies, and particularly violent video games.”

Patrick continued, “Psychologists and psychiatrists will tell you that students are desensitized to violence, may have lost empathy for their victims by watching hours and hours of video violent games.”

He said, “the problem is multifaceted. It’s not any one issue. But we, again, we have to look at our culture of violence, just our violent society, our Facebook, our Twitter, the bullying of adults on adults, and children on children. We have to look at ourselves, George, it’s not about the guns, it’s about us.” . . .

The Republican lieutenant governor also said, “We can’t sit back and say, ‘It’s the gun.’ It’s us as a nation, George … On this Sunday morning, when we all go to church and pray or go to synagogue or the mosque or wherever we go, let’s look inward at ourselves as a nation.” (Read more from “‘We’ve Devalued Life’: Texas Lt. Sheriff: Texas Deputies and Alleged Santa Fe Gunman Exchanged Fire for 25 Minutes

By Fox 6. A shooting at a Texas high school lasted for a terrifying 30 minutes on Friday. For 25 of those minutes, officers and the gunman engaged in a gunfight, Galveston County Sheriff Henry Trochesset told CNN Sunday.

The first shots were fired not long after classes began around 7:30 a.m. (8:30 a.m. ET), officials said. Officers arrived to the Santa Fe High School art lab section about four minutes into the shooting, Trochesset said, and engaged the shooter right away.

A total of 10 people — eight students and two teachers — were killed and 13 were injured as a result of the shooting. Dimitrios Pagourtzis, 17, was identified as the shooter. He was armed with a shotgun and a .38 caliber handgun.

When asked whether all of the victims were shot by Pagourtzis, Trochesset said authorities will have to learn that after the medical examiner autopsies are complete.

There is a “decent amount of cameras in the school,” Trochesset said, so a lot of video does exist. Investigators are going through all of the video and putting together a timeline, Trochesset said. Cougar Kills Biker in Rare Attack

By The New York Times. Two friends riding their bikes in a mountainous, wooded area of Washington State on Saturday morning were attacked by a cougar, which killed one of them in the state’s first such fatality in more than 90 years, officials said.

The authorities said the two cyclists saw the cougar, a 100-pound male, in pursuit and one of them screamed. They stopped, got off their bikes and made noise to ward it off as people in such situations are advised to do, the authorities said. . .

But as they were about to pedal away, the cougar returned, Sgt. Ryan Abbott of the King County Sheriff’s Office said. It jumped on Isaac M. Sederbaum, putting its mouth around his head and shaking him. It released him and chased after the other cyclist, who had started to run. The authorities identified that cyclist as Sonja J. Brooks. State Orders Pathology Tests on Cougar That Attacked Bicyclists

By The Seattle Times. The state’s Department of Fish & Wildlife will have “an independent, third-party” forensic necropsy conducted on a cougar that attacked a pair of bicyclists near North Bend on Saturday, killing one person and mauling the other.

The independent review is a nod by the state to the politicized world of cougars, one of the state’s largest and most successful predators, despised by ranchers and defended by conservationists . . .

The 3-year-old cougar killed S.J. Brooks, 32, of Seattle, and injured friend Isaac Sederbaum, 31, also of Seattle, on a remote, dirt road northeast of Snoqualmie . . .

The dead cougar weighed 101 pounds. A cougar that age, considered “a sub-adult” – should weigh 130 to 140 pounds, said Beausoleil. (Read more from “State Orders Pathology Tests on Cougar That Attacked Bicyclists” HERE)

Judicial Watch: Obama Can Still Be Impeached

If Congress is considering impeachment charges related to the 2016 election, they should center not on President Trump but on former President Obama “and his Nixonian use of various agencies to target candidate Trump,” contends Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. . .

The Judicial Watch chief was referring to the operation codenamed “Crossfire Hurricane,” reported May 16 by the New York Times, which had at least one “government informant” in the Trump campaign who met several times with campaign volunteers Carter Page and George Papadopoulos. . .

He noted the Jan. 6, 2017, meeting at Trump Tower in which then-FBI director James Comey informed Trump of the “salacious and unverified” allegation in the Steele dossier of an incident with prostitutes at a Moscow hotel. Trump later said he thought Comey was trying to blackmail him. Obama’s national security adviser, Susan Rice, Fitton pointed out, later wrote a “CYA” email after a Jan. 5, 2017, to memorialized an Oval Office meeting she attended with Obama and Comey in which they discussed confronting Trump the next day with the dossier information. . .

Fitton pointed out that the White House won’t be subject to public-records disclosure for years, but Congress can obtain them, and the president has authority to release the records as well. . .

The history professor, Murphy, said that while a former president could be impeached, he views a “lengthy and contentious impeachment process” as a waste of time, because any impeachment proceeding would necessarily involve federal crimes that could be more easily prosecuted through the criminal justice system. Shock: High School Students Pull ‘Prank’ Mass Shooting at School

By The Daily Wire. School officials at a high school in Maryland are apologizing to parents after a group of senior students pulled a prank at the school simulating a mass shooting. The students behind it are now facing potential criminal charges.

WJLA reported that approximately 20 students participated in the prank on May 15. Clad in black masks ran into the school setting off firecrackers to simulate gunshots and then shot kids with squirt guns that were filled with various liquids.

Emily Birckhead, a student at the school, was injured by the fireworks, and sustained second-degree burns on her ear, adding that someone squirted her with vinegar and that she had heard that other people were squirted with urine.

Bowie High School Students in Black Masks Simulate School Shooting as a Senior Prank

By WJLA. . .The students face discipline and possible charges. The incident occurred in the high school’s main building, according to a letter from Bowie High School principal Robynne W. Prince.

“Around 10:45 a.m., a small group of students participated in an inappropriate “senior prank” that resulted in a school evacuation,” the letter in part reads. “The prank involved spraying students and staff with squirt guns and setting off fireworks in the hallway.”

“School administration is taking this incident very seriously and coordinating with local police; the students involved will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law and disciplined according to the PGCPS Student Code of Conduct.” (Read more from “Bowie High School Students in Black Masks Simulate School Shooting as a Senior Prank” HERE)

Evidence: Cell Conversations are Being Intercepted and It May Not Be the Deep State

Rogue unknown cell-site simulators are being actively used in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia according to News4 I-Team who worked with a mobile security expert to determine the usage of the devices.

Last month, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said it had seen activity in Washington, D.C., of what appear to be rogue surveillance devices that could be used to hijack cellphones, listen to calls and read texts. The devices are otherwise known as International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) catchers or stingrays, NPR reported.

The devices work by tricking mobile devices within a determined radius into connecting onto them instead of legitimate cell towers, revealing the exact location of a cellphone. More sophisticated versions of the device can even eavesdrop and intercept calls by forcing phones to use 2G wireless technology. Some even attempt to plant malware on the devices that are being targeted.

The devices can be mounted in vehicles, drones, helicopters, and airplanes, allowing police to gain highly specific information on the location of any individual phone, down to a particular apartment complex or hotel room. But where police can use them, so can anyone else with knowledge to build them or where to buy them.

IMSI catchers can cost anywhere from $1,000 to around $200,000. They are the size of a small briefcase; some are as even as shockingly small as a cellphone. However, according to the EFF, “anyone with the skill level of a hobbyist can now build their own passive IMSI catcher for as little as $7 or an active cell-site simulator for around $1000.”

The agency added that it believes “the malicious use of IMSI catchers is a real and growing risk.” Senator Ron Wyden wrote to DHS asking for information about the use of IMSI catchers by foreign intelligence agencies.

DHS has warned rogue devices could prevent connected phones from making 911 calls, saying, “If this type of attack occurs during an emergency, it could prevent victims from receiving assistance.”

D.C. Councilwoman Mary Cheh said that the spy technology should be a concern for all who live and work in the District.

The I-Team’s test phones detected an absurd 40 potential locations where the spy devices could be operating while driving around for just mere hours.

The DHS hasn’t disclosed how many IMSI catchers it found or where those “rogue surveillance devices” were detected. The agency also said it did not determine who was operating them.

According to NBC the devices are operating in Langley, the Pentagon and Fort Myer to name a few places where they were found.

Although NBC tries to dismiss the devices as “rogue technology,” stating they are likely used by law enforcement, it’s worth noting the DHS has stated previously they don’t know who is operating this tech.

“The good news is about half the devices the I-Team found were likely law enforcement investigating crimes or our government using the devices defensively to identify certain cellphone numbers as they approach important locations,” Aaron Turner a mobile security expert, said.

Further, even if the technology was used by law enforcement, its usage is violating privacy and is illegal without a warrant as it scoops up all the data collected by cell phones in the area without discrimination; which violates constitutional protections, according to the EFF. And what if it’s being run by a rogue police force, like the one that operated at Norfolk, Virginia, Naval Shipyard for 12 long years before being caught, as Activist Post reported on?

DHS acting undersecretary, Christopher Krebs, the top official in the National Protection and Programs Directorate, noted in a response letter to Wyden that the DHS lacks the equipment and funding to detect Stingrays even though their use by foreign governments “may threaten U.S. national and economic security.”

Krebs wrote, “Use of IMSI catchers by malicious actors to track and monitor cellular users is unlawful and threatens the security of communications, resulting in safety, economic, and privacy risks. … Overall, DHS’s National Protection and Programs Directorate believes the malicious use of IMSI catchers is a real and growing risk.” The agency added that NPPD “has observed anomalous activity in the Nation Capital Region that appears to be consistent with IMSI catchers. NPPD has not validated or attributed such activity to specific entities or devices.”

After the DHS admission, three House members sent a letter to the Federal Communications Commission, demanding that the FCC “take immediate action under federal law to address the prevalence of what could be hostile, foreign cell-site simulators—or stingrays—surveilling Americans in the nation’s Capital.”

Last month, Senators. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.), Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Ed Markey (D-Mass.) called on the DHS to release an unclassified PowerPoint presentation detailing the threat, The Hill reported.

The presentation was given by a DHS official at the Federal Mobile Technology Forum in Mclean, Va., in February, according to the four lawmakers.

The PowerPoint presentation was described as “detailed,” but gave no other information about what it may reveal.

“The American people have a legitimate interest in understanding the extent to which U.S. telephone networks are vulnerable to surveillance and are being actively exploited by hostile actors,” they wrote in a letter to DHS official Christopher Krebs.

The EFF states that the “problem is law enforcement and the intelligence community would surely agree that these technologies are dangerous in the wrong hands, but there is no way to stop criminals and terrorists from using these technologies without also closing the same security flaws that law enforcement uses.”

In that respect, that means in order to stop rogue potential criminal activity the security flaws would have to be fixed and the holes patched; but if that’s done, then law enforcement wouldn’t be able to use it either. This reporter must be the only one who is okay with that? (For more from the author of “Evidence: Cell Conversations Are Being Intercepted and It May Not Be the Deep State” please click HERE)

Christian Therapist Fired over Traditional Marriage Stance

A longtime licensed clinical social worker who was ordered to be a “social worker first, Catholic second” and then fired because of her biblical beliefs about marriage is suing the agency that dismissed her. . .

Lorentzen had asked permission from her former employer, HealthSource Saginaw in Michigan, for permission to refer a homosexual duo to another counselor for “marriage” counseling.

She then was fired. . .

She wanted to refer them to someone else, because seeing them on that issue “would violate her religious beliefs and practices regarding the sanctity of marriage as the union between one man and one woman.” . . .

“Federal civil rights law generally requires employers to reasonably accommodate an employee’s religious beliefs so long as doing so would not impose an undue hardship. In this case, the couple could have easily been referred to another therapist.” (Read more from “Christian Therapist Fired over Traditional Marriage Stance” HERE)

Hahahaha! Wash Post, NYT: FBI Embedded Informant in Trump Campaign to Protect Him

. . .Throughout the last week, stories exploded about the Obama FBI embedding an informant inside the campaign of Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign. Trump called the reports “bigger than Watergate” and the “all-time biggest political scandal!”

But not to the Washington Post and the New York Times. Over the weekend, both stellar news agencies wrote stories saying the insertion of an informant was simply to protect Trump.

“The FBI didn’t use an informant to go after Trump. They used one to protect him,” read the Post’s headline.

“Trump and his backers are wrong about what it means that the FBI reportedly was using a confidential source to gather information early in its investigation of possible campaign ties to Russia. The investigation started out as a counterintelligence probe, not a criminal one. And relying on a covert source rather than a more intrusive method of gathering information suggests that the FBI may have been acting cautiously — perhaps too cautiously — to protect the campaign, not undermine it,” wrote Asha Rangappa, a “lecturer” at the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs at Yale University and a former FBI agent.

As a former FBI counterintelligence agent, I know what Trump apparently does not: Counterintelligence investigations have a different purpose than their criminal counterparts. Rather than trying to find evidence of a crime, the FBI’s counterintelligence goal is to identify, monitor and neutralize foreign intelligence activity in the United States. In short, this entails identifying foreign intelligence officers and their network of agents; uncovering their motives and methods; and ultimately rendering their operations ineffective — either by clandestinely thwarting them (say, by feeding back misinformation or “flipping” their sources into double agents) or by exposing them.

DOJ Responds to Trump’s Demand for Review into Alleged Spying for ‘Political Purposes’

The Department of Justice responded to President Donald Trump’s Twitter message on Sunday, demanding an investigation into whether the FBI and DOJ infiltrated his campaign during the 2016 election for “political purposes.”

In a statement, DOJ spokesperson Sarah Isgur Flores said, “The Department has asked the Inspector General to expand the ongoing review of the FISA application process to include determining whether there was any impropriety or political motivation in how the FBI conducted its counterintelligence investigation of persons suspected of involvement with the Russian agents who interfered in the 2016 presidential election. As always, the IG will consult with the appropriate U.S. Attorney if there is any evidence of potential criminal conduct.”

Rush Calls Deep State Agent James Clapper a Liar over His Explanation of the FBI Informant in Trump’s Campaign

That’s what talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh is saying after Barack Obama’s director of national intelligence, James Clapper, claimed it was a “good thing” if the reports that the Obama administration had someone spying on the Trump campaign are true.

Clapper said in a CNN interview the Obama administration’s FBI “may have had someone who was talking to them in the campaign, but, you know, the focus here … is not on the campaign, per se, but what the Russians were doing. ”

[Rush responded:] “You know, here’s another thought. And this is how I know that the snake Clapper is lying. Clapper tells CNN ‘Oh, no, no, no, we weren’t interested in the Trump campaign, our spy. We think it was a good thing the FBI had a spy to look for pernicious activity from the Russians, the Russians tampering with our electoral process. It was a good thing they had a spy in that campaign, not to look at the Trump campaign, but to look at the Russians.’

“Mr. Clapper, then why didn’t you put a spy in the Hillary campaign? She was interacting with the Russians. She was rigging the DNC primary. She did hire a guy to write a phony opposition research with Russian agents on Trump. The Hillary campaign was intertwined with the Russians for months. Why didn’t you have a spy in her campaign, if it was the Russians you were really interested in? Why not look at how Hillary was working with them?”

Limbaugh’s conclusion: “But of course they weren’t looking for the Russians, because I think they’ve known from the get-go the Russians didn’t affect the outcome of this election. Remember, if Hillary had won, you’d a never heard about the Russians, other than whatever steps they took to destroy Trump, which I think they would have done. Even if Trump had lost, I think they would have made moves to further destroy this guy, to send the message to any other outsiders, ‘Don’t even think about trying this. Look what we’ll do to you.’” (Read more from “Rush Calls Deep State Agent James Clapper a Liar over His Explanation of the FBI Informant in Trump’s Campaign” HERE)
