Trump Issues First Tweet of 2018

In his very first tweet of the new year, President Donald Trump directed fire at the government of Pakistan, suggesting that the U.S. should stop sending them billions in foreign aid while they continue to spread “lies & deceit” and harbor terrorists.

While the tweet may have been intended as a warning to Pakistani government officials to be more cooperative in the fight against Islamic radicalism, it was certainly not the first time the Republican president has openly pondered slashing aid to the country, long accused of harboring terrorists and undermining U.S. military efforts.

In August, Trump explained that the “next pillar” of his strategy for battling radical Islamic terrorism would include a “change in our approach to Pakistan.”

Addressing military personnel at Fort Meyer, Trump outlined a new strategy for Afghanistan and South Asia and accused Pakistan of giving “safe haven to agents of chaos, violence and terror,” according to First Post.

In that same speech, Trump also issued a warning shot to Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan.

“Pakistan has much to gain from partnering with our effort in Afghanistan,” he explained. “It has much to lose by continuing to harbor terrorists.”

“We will also expand authority for American armed forces to target the terrorist and criminal networks that sow violence and chaos throughout Afghanistan,” he went on. “These killers need to know they have nowhere to hide — that no place is beyond the reach of American arms.”

During pivotal moments when American forces executed operations to rescue civilians or take down high-ranking terrorists inside Pakistan, that government has often been described as dragging its feet or working against U.S. efforts entirely.

After Osama bin Laden was killed by American forces in the northern part of the country in 2011, the Pakistani government jailed the man largely credited with helping the CIA locate the world’s most wanted terrorist — Dr. Shakil Afridi.

Afridi is accused of running a fake vaccination campaign and having ties to militant Islamists — charges Afridi and the U.S. have labeled ridiculous. Pakistan is refusing to hand the doctor over to American forces or even release him from prison, according to Reuters.

More recently, the Pakistani government rescued an American-Canadian family held hostage by the Taliban-affiliated Haqqani network for years. However, the operation only came to fruition in October after Secretary of State Rex Tillerson gave them the ultimatum of saving the family themselves or seeing the U.S. act on its own.

The Pakistani government has since refused to allow U.S. interrogators access to a captured Haqqani terrorist involved in the hostage taking.

Viewing Pakistan as an unreliable partner, Trump will likely slow the gravy train of millions in foreign aid the U.S. hands Pakistan annually.

The White House is now reportedly considering cutting $255 million in military assistance to the Muslim-majority country until its government decides to become more cooperative.

Plans to cut aid to Pakistan come after U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley announced major cuts to the United Nations, announcing in late December a plan to cut $285 million from funds the U.S. will provide to the international body’s 2018-2019 budget. Proof New York Times Colluded With Hillary

. . .After The New York Times on Saturday published a story headlined “Republican Attacks on Mueller and F.B.I. Open New Rift in G.O.P.,” WikiLeaks couldn’t stand it anymore. In a late-night post on Twitter, WikiLeaks revealed that a Times reporter used to feed State Department email updates of the stories the paper would be publishing DAYS before the stories appeared.

At the time, Hillary Clinton was the Secretary of State.

The heads-up email was intended to give State (and Clinton) time to come up with some spin for stories that may have caused problems. Or, in another possible scenario, the heads up could give the State Department time to create a diversion for the same day, thus overriding a damaging story with other news its friends in the mainstream media would happily cover instead.

The players in the WikiLeaks email are interesting. Scott Shane is the national security reporter for the Times. And the recipient of his email, Philip Crowley, was at the time the United States Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs under Clinton’s State Department. In Year-End Tweets, President Trump Sends Best Wishes to All – Including ‘Haters,’ ‘Fake News Media’

By Fox News. President Trump on Sunday wished a happy new year to the people who elected him to the White House — and those who kept him in the headlines.

“As our Country rapidly grows stronger and smarter, I want to wish all of my friends, supporters, enemies, haters, and even the very dishonest Fake News Media, a Happy and Healthy New Year. 2018 will be a great year for America!,” Trump tweeted.

He followed up more than an hour later: “HAPPY NEW YEAR! We are MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and much faster than anyone thought possible!”

The president is spending the holidays in Palm Beach, where Mar-a-Lago hosts an annual New Year’s Eve bash. He told reporters outside, “We are going to have a tremendous year. Stock market, I think, is going to continue to go up. Companies are going to continue to come into the country.” (Read more from “In Year-End Tweets, President Trump Sends Best Wishes to All – Including ‘Haters,’ ‘Fake News Media'” HERE)

President Trump Predicts a ‘Fantastic’ New Year at Exclusive Mar-A-Lago Gala

By TIME. President Donald Trump predicted a “fantastic 2018” on Sunday night as he strolled down a red carpet to bid farewell to 2017 with an exclusive bash at his private club.

Accompanied by first lady Melania Trump and son Barron, a tuxedoed Trump spoke to reporters as he entered the gilded ballroom at Mar-a-Lago. He said the stock market will continue to rise and that companies are going to continue to come into the U.S.

Asked for his reaction to North Korea leader Kim Jon Un’s remarks about having a nuclear button on his desk, Trump responded by saying, “We’ll see.”

Guests gathered in the ballroom included senior White House advisers Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Trump’s sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. (Read more from “President Trump Predicts a ‘Fantastic’ New Year at Exclusive Mar-A-Lago Gala” HERE)

Classified Documents Among Newly Released Huma Emails Found on Weiner’s Laptop

The State Department Friday released a trove of emails from Huma Abedin that the feds discovered on her husband Anthony Weiner’s laptop — including at least five that were marked as “classified.”

Most of the emails were heavily redacted because they contained classified material — but one that was sent on Nov. 25 2010 was addressed to “Anthony Campaign,” an apparent address belonging to Weiner.

The message contained a list of talking points for then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who was prepping to make a call to Prince Saud of Saudi Arabia to warn him about sensitive documents that had been given to WikiLeaks by then-Army intelligence officer Bradley Manning . . .

“This appears to be the result of an illegal act in which a fully cleared intelligence officer stole information and gave it to a website. The person responsible will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law” [a talking point] continued. CNN Shares Exclusive Footage of Trump Playing Golf, Then Twitter Users Notice the Real Story

CNN’s coverage of President Donald Trump playing golf seemed strange to quite a few viewers.

After promising to “get back to work” after Christmas, Trump went to the golf course — an act which CNN covered in an apparent attempt to question the president’s work ethic.

CNN correspondent Manu Raju tweeted the exclusive content catching Trump in the act, however, Twitter users noticed the president’s golf game wasn’t the only questionable activity taking place.

The video footage looks as though it was taken from the inside of a bush, surprising viewers that the reporter was spying on Trump.

Twitter users pointed out what should have been the real story.

This footage comes after multiple mistakes made by CNN earlier this month.

In early December, Raju used the wrong date when reporting on an email sent to the Trump campaign that inflamed suspicion of possible collusion between the campaign and Russia, which has been accused of providing those documents to WikiLeaks.

In reality, the email was received 10 days later when the documents were publicly available, disproving the earlier presumption.

In another December mistake, CNN used an image of someone who was not White House principal deputy secretary Raj Shah accompanied by a quote from Shah on air. The picture that was used with the quote is another man named Raj Shah, but he serves as the Rockefeller Foundation’s president.

While other news outlets covered the attempted terror attack in New York City earlier this month, CNN ran a story about a New York Times story that claims Trump drinks “a dozen Diet Cokes” every day.

Trump has repeatedly criticized CNN for its alleged biased reporting. (For more from the author of “CNN Shares Exclusive Footage of Trump Playing Golf, Then Twitter Users Notice the Real Story” please click HERE)

A New Year’s Eve to Remem-Brrrr in New York

A temperature of 10 degrees Fahrenheit as the ball dropped made the welcoming of 2018 the second-coldest New Year’s Eve on record in the Big Apple.

The glittering crystal ball dropped with a burst of confetti and dazzling fireworks as revelers said goodbye to 2017.

With much of the East Coast experiencing a recent snap of frigid, Arctic weather, the traditional celebration was less crowded than in past years. Some of the metal pens, usually packed with people, were only half-full.

Some revelers, bundled up in hats, gloves, face masks and numerous layers of clothing, jogged to keep warm, others bounced and danced. Some stood and shivered.

But those who showed up were there to watch the traditional drop of a Waterford Crystal ball down a pole atop 1 Times Square. (Read more from “A New Year’s Eve to Remem-Brrrr in New York” HERE)

Hillary Clinton Backer Paid $500G to Fund Women Accusing Trump of Sexual Misconduct Before Election Day

One of Hillary Clinton’s wealthy pals paid $500,000 in an unsuccessful effort to fund women willing to accuse President Trump of sexual misconduct before the 2016 election, The New York Times reported Sunday.

Susie Tompkins Buell, the founder of Esprit Clothing and a major Clinton campaign donor for many years, gave the money to celebrity lawyer Lisa Bloom who was working with a number of Trump accusers at the time, according to the paper’s bombshell report.

Bloom solicited donors by saying she was working with women who might “find the courage to speak out” against Trump if the donors would provide funds for security, relocation and possibly a “safe house,” the paper reported.

Former Clinton nemesis turned Clinton operative David Brock also donated $200,000 to the effort through a nonprofit group he founded, the paper reported in an article entitled, “Partisans, Wielding Money, Begin Seeking to Exploit Harassment Claims.”

Bloom told the Times that the effort was unproductive. One woman requested $2 million then decided not to come forward. Nor did any other women. (Read more from “Hillary Clinton Backer Paid $500G to Fund Women Accusing Trump of Sexual Misconduct Before Election Day” HERE)

Trump Website Removes Hidden Jab at Obama, the Replacement Might Be Even Better

A hidden piece of code inside President Donald Trump’s website that would replace the basic “page not found” error message with a snarky comment about former President Barack Obama has been removed from the website.

The Washington Post data reporter Christopher Ingraham first found the code that read “Oops! Something went wrong. Unlike Obama, we are working to fix the problem… and not on the golf course” and shared his discovery on Twitter.

According to Ingraham, the code appears on every action.donaldjtrump.com page paid for by the RNC.

The error message is also on some official GOP sites paired with a 404 error message that says “What do Hillary Clinton and this link have in common? They’re both dead broke,” Tech Crunch reported.

One Twitter user pointed out that the jab at Obama would never show up because the code used a single equal sign instead of the two that were needed.

The code about Clinton was similary “broken.”

However, soon after its discovery, the code was removed from the websites, replaced, according to BizPac Review, with, “Don’t worry, we’re making it great again.”

This code unveiling comes as the mainstream media has begun piling on in criticism of Trump’s recorded fifth straight day golfing during his winter vacation at Mar-a-Lago.

During his campaign in 2016, Trump said, “I’m going to be working for you. I’m not going to have time to play golf,” according to Newsweek.

The criticism for his golfing habit started this week, the day after he tweeted that he was going to go “back to work in order to Make America Great Again.”

Ingraham drew his conclusion that someone is “sensitive enough to Trump’s golf problem to make this issue go away quickly once people noticed” and expressed his desire to see what led to the coding change. CNN Finally Learns Whose White Truck Blocked Cameras From Filming Trump

CNN has finally completed the white truck investigation it started earlier this week after a large white box truck blocked their cameras from filming President Donald Trump playing golf.

A similar looking truck was found in the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office parking lot, CNN White House Producer Noah Gray reported.

The next day, he confirmed that a license plate comparison showed that the truck in the PBSO parking lot was indeed the same one parked in front of the golf course.

Earlier this week CNN complained that a large box truck was used to keep reporters from capturing footage of Trump golfing, The Western Journal reported.

The Secret Service and Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department both denied using the truck to hide the president’s golf game from CNN’s cameras.

According to Gray, Secret Service spokesperson Cathy Milhoan stated that “The USSS is in the business of protection and investigations not in commissioning vehicles to block the media’s view of the President’s golf swing.”

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Therese Barbera also said that the “department did not order a box truck to obstruct CNN’s view of President Donald Trump golfing on Wednesday.”

After the latest discovery, Barbera “reiterated to CNN the truck maneuver was not authorized by management.”

The CNN complaint and the denials from the Secret Service and sheriff’s department were both in response to exclusive footage CNN aired of Trump golfing instead of working right after Christmas.

“This may seem trivial, but it is important to get video of the president as he does these things on a daily basis…the president and the White House have tried to obscure the fact that President Trump golfs on a regular basis,” CNN political reporter Dan Merica said, according to Fox News.

Twitter users did not seem impressed by the latest update on the truck.

In the meantime, someone has created a @WhiteBoxTruck account on Twitter to see if CNN will follow it. (For more from the author of “CNN Finally Learns Whose White Truck Blocked Cameras From Filming Trump” please click HERE)

Retail Apocalypse Continues: 17 Stores on 2018 Death Watch

Over 20 retail chains — including Radio Shack, Toys R Us, and HHGregg — filed for bankruptcy, and some were liquidated . . .

The 17 companies below all struggled in 2017. Many of them closed stores, and some have even filed for bankruptcy at least once before. These aren’t the only retailers struggling as we head into 2018, but they are some of the most prominent . . .

Leaving Sears Holdings (NASDAQ: SHLD) off a list of companies not likely to survive 2018 would be like omitting Tom Brady from a discussion of all-time great quarterbacks. Sears has been moving in reverse for years, losing money and closing stores at a remarkable rate . . .

J.C. Penney (NYSE: JCP) isn’t in the same dire straits as Sears. That, however, is sort of like saying that someone with one brain tumor is in better health than someone with two . . .

In 2017 Claire’s appeared on a lot of lists of companies not likely to survive the year. Its condition has improved slightly: In the most recent quarter, overall sales rose 0.8%, while same-store sales grew by 1.1%.The problem is that the chain is in a precarious financial position. As of Oct. 28, it had cash and cash equivalents of only $25.8 million, down $5.4 million from the previous quarter. It also had $71 million drawn on its credit facility, putting the chain underwater and vulnerable to a downturn in sales.
