Bad News for the Write-In Campaign Against Roy Moore

A write-in campaign supported by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in the Alabama Senate race is not “viable” anymore, a source close to the majority leader’s political operation told The Daily Caller Monday.

McConnell and other establishment Republicans, such as National Republican Senatorial Committee chairman Cory Gardner, have called on Republican Senate nominee Roy Moore to drop out of the race due to allegations of sexual misconduct with minors.

“We’re looking at whether or not there’s someone who could mount a write-in campaign successfully,” the Senate majority leader told reporters last week . . .

The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that there are currently only two options McConnell world sees transpiring: Moore wins and the Senate expels him, or Democrat Doug Jones wins. Recent public polling has put Jones ahead of Moore in the reliably Republican state of Alabama, and the source told TheDC that he thinks a Jones win is looking “more likely.” (Read more from “Bad News for the Write-In Campaign Against Roy Moore” HERE)

Mayor of LA Scoping 2020 Run

There have been governors and generals, senators and members of Congress, secretaries of state and vice presidents. There was even a billionaire business executive chosen as commander in chief.

But never in the 228 years since Gen. George Washington was sworn in as president has a sitting mayor been elected to the White House.

Eric M. Garcetti, the mayor of Los Angeles, may be out to change that.

The odds are long: Mr. Garcetti was sworn into his second term as mayor just five months ago, and has not built a particularly broad record of accomplishments to showcase to the nation. (Read more from “Mayor of LA Scoping 2020 Run” HERE)

BOOM! Mystery Blasts Rattling the Globe

. . .[These] are the questions experts and non-experts around the world are asking themselves in recent weeks as curiously loud mystery BOOMS have not only been heard around the world, but felt – shaking buildings and rattling nerves from Alabama to Michigan, Idaho to California, Russia to Denmark . . .

The day after Alabamans were shaken by that incident, something similar occurred in Idaho. No explanation has been forthcoming from law enforcement officials there . . .

WXYZ in Detroit said the reports came in from the towns of Wyandotte, Ecorse, Lincoln Park and many others. Wyandotte Police said the loud boom did not originate in their city. Ecorse Police also said their officers heard and felt it inside their police station, but they were not able to pinpoint the source of the sound, saying it did not happen in Ecorse.

Southern New Jersey had baffled residents on Oct. 25 who called 9-1-1 centers. It was also heard and felt in the Philadelphia area. An earthquake was ruled out. There was speculation about a sonic boom from military aircraft flying out of the Naval Air Station near the Patuxent River in eastern Maryland. But a public affairs officer from the base said there were no aircraft flying in the area that morning. There is also speculation about an inversion, which happens when a layer of warmer air sits over a layer of cooler air, magnifying the sound of an aircraft miles away.

The same day – a world away – residents in Sydney, Australia’s inner west and outer southern suburbs were awakened to extremely loud explosion sounds, leaving some fearing for their lives. (Read more from “BOOM! Mystery Blasts Rattling the Globe” HERE)

Biggest Thanksgiving Travel Surge in Years

Amid a strong economy and solid consumer confidence, AAA expects Americans to get on the road and trek through airports over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in the largest numbers in 12 years.

The auto club projects that nearly 51 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home during the five-day period from Wednesday through Sunday, with 89 percent driving. Almost 8 percent will fly.

Auto travel is expected to jump by 3.2 percent from last Thanksgiving and air travel by 5 percent. The overall increase is 3.3 percent.

AAA said travelers going by plane will pay the lowest average round-trip ticket price in five years for the top 40 domestic routes — $157.

But the daily car rental average charge of $70 is 34 percent higher than last year’s figure and the highest Thanksgiving weekend rate since 2013. (Read more from “Biggest Thanksgiving Travel Surge in Years” HERE)

‘Grenade’ Causes Evacuation at Airport

There was a scare at Miami International Airport on Saturday after a suspicious item was found in a bathroom.

Some areas of the airport had to be evacuated . . .

Passengers were asked to stay across the street as the bomb squad tried to figure out what the item was.

Ultimately officials realized it was a toy grenade they had found.

“It looked real enough for us to implement our safety procedures,” said Detective Lee Coward with Miami-Dade Police. “It was determined by the bomb squad and the K-9 units to be inert. It would be speculation at this point to determine whether it was a novelty item that perhaps a child left behind in the bathroom or whether someone meant something more malicious by that.” (Read more from “‘Grenade’ Causes Evacuation at Airport” HERE)

Congressman Calls Absentee Fathers a National Crisis

America is becoming a land of absentee fathers and it is leaving generations of children unfamiliar with what a good dad looks like, and Rep. Bill Johnson says that is a national crisis that must be addressed.

The Ohio Republican is the author of “Raising Fathers: How Nurturing and Encouraging Fatherhood Helps Strengthen Families and Our Nation.”

The intensely personal book includes many stories of Johnson growing up in what he calls a dysfunctional family as well as his candid insights into the end of his first marriage and the unplanned pregnancy of his unwed daughter.

Recent government statistics show roughly half of all Americans births now occur outside of marriages. The out-of-wedlock birthrate in the black community is around 70 percent. For white Americans, the rate is near 40 percent.

Johnson says he wrote the book because countless young people are deeply deprived without a loving, stable father in the home. (Read more from “Congressman Calls Absentee Fathers a National Crisis” HERE)

FBI Investigating Death of Border Agent

A U.S. Border Patrol agent was killed in the line of duty Sunday while patrolling the Big Bend Sector of Texas along the southern border with Mexico.

Agent Rogelio Martinez, 36, died of injuries sustained while responding to “activity” near Interstate 10 in the Van Horn Station area, according to a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Martinez and his partner, who was injured, were transported to a hospital. The partner, who was not identified, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Border Protection spokesman Carlos Diaz told The Associated Press the FBI has taken over the investigation.

Martinez, who was from El Paso, worked as a border agent since August 2013. (Read more from “FBI Investigating Death of Border Agent” HERE)

That Was Quick: Progressive Says DEMOCRAT Sex Abusers Should Stay

This is disgusting. A “feminist” writer has finally said publicly what the worst progressives really think: a Democrat who sexually abuses a woman should be let off the hook because he’s a Democrat.

The blogger, Kate Harding, is “sincerely” making this argument.

Why? Because all men in politics are likely to be sexual abusers. Obviously.

Couldn’t be a B.S. feminist rant without a “Handmaid’s Tale” garbage reference.

Yeah, because incumbent establishment Republicans pulled out all the stops to make sure Donald Trump was elected. Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan were out in front of TV cameras every day trying to make America great again. No, wait, that was Earth-2. Back here in reality, Paul Ryan said he’d stop defending Trump, and Mitch McConnell retreated into his shell during that election.

Aren’t men who would sexually abuse women already sociopaths?

Oh look, concluding with identity politics. That was fun. At least it’s over.

Darn.

THERE IT IS. Removing from office Democrats who abuse women will do “catastrophic damage to our political interests.”

This “feminist” doesn’t care about women. She’s purely political. She puts the priorities of the Democratic Party ahead of the moral responsibility we have to see justice done and victims of sexual abuse defended.

As long as there are progressives like her, scumbag Democrats like Al Franken will continue to get away with their scum.

Politics over people, always, for the Left. (For more from the author of “That Was Quick: Progressive Says DEMOCRAT Sex Abusers Should Stay” please click HERE)

Massive US Military Social Media Spying Archive Left Wide Open

Three misconfigured AWS S3 buckets have been discovered wide open on the public internet containing “dozens of terabytes” of social media posts and similar pages – all scraped from around the world by the US military to identify and profile persons of interest.

The archives were found by UpGuard’s veteran security-breach hunter Chris Vickery during a routine scan of open Amazon-hosted data silos, and the trio weren’t exactly hidden. The buckets were named centcom-backup, centcom-archive, and pacom-archive.

CENTCOM is the common abbreviation for the US Central Command, which controls army operations in the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia. PACOM is the name for US Pacific Command, covering the rest of southern Asia, China and Australasia.

Vickery told The Register today he stumbled upon them by accident while running a scan for the word “COM” in publicly accessible S3 buckets. After refining his search, the CENTCOM archive popped up, and at first he thought it was related to Chinese multinational Tencent, but quickly realized it was a US military archive of astounding size.

“For the research I downloaded 400GB of samples but there were many terabytes of data up there,” he said. “It’s mainly compressed text files that can expand out by a factor of ten so there’s dozens and dozens of terabytes out there and that’s a conservative estimate.” (Read more from “Massive US Military Social Media Spying Archive Left Wide Open” HERE)

Clinton Questions Legitimacy of 2016 Election

Hillary Clinton is questioning the legitimacy of the 2016 presidential election despite once calling such behavior “horrifying.”

In an interview with Mother Jones released on Friday, Clinton claimed “there are lots of questions about its legitimacy” because of Russian interference efforts and alleged voter suppression. She said the Russian “disinformation campaign…wasn’t just influencing voters, it was determining the outcome.”

Clinton also blamed voter ID laws and “obstacles” to voter registration for her losses in states like Wisconsin, a place she failed to campaign in.

“In a couple of places, most notably Wisconsin, I think it had a dramatic impact on the outcome,” she claimed. “It seems likely that it cost me the election [in Wisconsin] because of the tens of thousands of people who were turned away and the margin being so small.” (Read more from “Clinton Questions Legitimacy of 2016 Election” HERE)
