One Year Later, the Victims of Obama’s IRS Deserve Justice

IRSMay 10th marks the one year anniversary of the admission that the Obama Administration’s IRS was responsible for targeting conservative Americans.

This unlawful and unconstitutional targeting scheme has been well documented.

Over the course of at least three years and fueled by the harangues of the Left, the IRS systematically targeted, held up applications, and devised a coordinated plan to demand unconstitutionally intrusive information from conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status in the run-up to the 2012 presidential and congressional elections.

The IRS asked pro-life groups for the “content of your members’ prayers.” It demanded donor lists, resumes, and other documentation far outside the purview of the IRS from conservative groups. In multiple instances, the IRS is alleged to have released private taxpayer information in violation of federal law, the latest such accusation in the form of a new lawsuit last month.

On May 29, 2013, the ACLJ filed a federal lawsuit – the largest of its kind – on behalf of targeted conservative and pro-life organizations. We now represent 41 groups from 22 states in that litigation, detailing the IRS’s unlawful targeting and demanding justice for the thousands of American citizens impacted by the IRS dragnet.

Satanic Temple, Backed by ACLU, Insisting on Erecting Pagan Statue in Oklahoma

SatanStatueA battle will soon be held in Oklahoma over a statue of Satan that a group wants to erect near the monument of the Ten Commandments on the Statehouse lawn in Oklahoma City. A group called the Satanic Temple, backed by the ACLU, is insisting that its nearly-completed statue should stand near the monument, while a spokesman for the governor bluntly said that setting up the Satanic statue on the grounds will never happen.

According to Lucien Graves, spokesman for the Satanic Temple, the sculptor working in New York has not been identified, but has been commissioned by the Satanic Temple, which has raised more than $20,000 for the project. Greaves boasted, “We’re really coming along fast.”

The bronze statue will represent the Baphomet, or Sabbatic Goat, which has been commonly thought to represent Satan for hundreds of years. To make matters more disturbing, the statue has a smiling child on each knee.

EPA Paid Hundreds of Thousands of Illegal Bonuses to Employees

epa-sign1002231The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) paid out nearly $500,000 in unauthorized bonuses, according to a report released by the EPA Inspector General.

An Inspector General (IG) investigation found that 11 EPA employees received $481,819 in unauthorized retention bonuses between 2006 and 2013. The bonuses are meant to incentivize employees who receive other job offers.

The bonuses are supposed to be reauthorized annually, but for 10 of those EPA officials, the IG could find no evidence that their bonuses were reviewed, as required by federal regulations and EPA policies.

One EPA employee received $77,204 in unauthorized pay over five years, even though he had only been approved for a one-year retention bonus.

CDC: First Case of MERS Virus in American Confirmed

MERSHealth officials confirmed the first case of an American infected with a mysterious virus that has sickened hundreds in the Middle East.

The man fell ill after flying to the U.S. late last week from Saudi Arabia where he was a health care worker.

He is hospitalized in good condition in northwest Indiana with Middle East respiratory syndrome, or MERS, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Indiana health officials said Friday.

The virus is not highly contagious and this case “represents a very low risk to the broader, general public,” Dr. Anne Schuchat told reporters during a CDC briefing.

The federal agency plans to track down passengers he may have been in close contact with during his travels; it was not clear how many may have been exposed to the virus.

Lower Unemployment Because 92 Million Americans Have Dropped Out of the Labor Force

Job Seekers Look For Work At Career Fair In Detroit[M]ore than 92 million Americans remain out of the labor force.

The unemployment rate dropped to 6.3 percent in April from 6.7 percent in March, the lowest it has been since September 2008 when it was 6.1 percent. The sharp drop, though, occurred because the number of people working or seeking work fell. The Bureau of Labor Statistics does not count people not looking for a job as unemployed.

The bureau noted that the civilian labor force dropped by 806,000 last month, following an increase of 503,000 in March.

The amount (not seasonally adjusted) of Americans not in the labor force in April rose to 92,594,000, almost 1 million more than the previous month. In March, 91,630,000 Americans were not in the labor force, which includes an aging population that is continuing to head into retirement.

“The labor force participation rate fell by 0.4 percentage point to 62.8 percent in April. The participation rate has shown no clear trend in recent months and currently is the same as it was this past October. The employment-population ratio showed no change over the month (58.9 percent) and has changed little over the year,” the bureau said in a statement. Read more from this story HERE.

One Million People Dropped Out Of Labor Force In April: Participation Rate Plummets To Lowest Since 1978

And so the BLS is back to its old data fudging, because while the Establishment Survey job number was a whopper, and the biggest monthly addition since January 2012, the Household Survey showed an actual decline of 73K jobs. What is much worse, is that the reason the unemployment rate tumbled is well-known: it was entirely due to the number of Americans dropping out of the labor force. To wit, the labor force participation rate crashed from 63.2% to 62.8%, trying for lowest since January 1978! And why did it crash so much – because the number of people not in the labor force soared to 92 million, the second highest monthly increase ever, or 988K, only ‘better’ than January 2012 which curiously was the one month when the establishment survey reported a 360K “increase” in jobs. Florida Democrats Just Voted To Impose Sharia Law On Women

Florida Democrats have declared war on women; but fortunately, their attack on our freedoms was turned back by Republicans who represented America and voted against them.

Anyone who isn’t certain that Democrats are devoted to destroying America need only take a look at their despicable conduct in the Florida Senate. In a vote that never should have had to be taken, every single Democrat voted to force Sharia Law on the people of Florida. By doing so, they placed women and children in very real danger. The vote was 24 votes for America and 14 votes for al Qaeda and the Taliban cast by loathsome Democrats. They voted to deny Americans the Constitutional protections generations of American men and women fought for and died to protect. Democrats have revealed their desire to force Americans to live as slaves to a third world, foreign “justice system.”

Since the liars in the Democrat–controlled media won’t describe what these quislings have tried to force on Americans, here is an outline of the horrors of Sharia Law.

There would be no freedom of religion because Sharia supports only Islam.

There would be no freedom of speech.

Marie Strumolo Burke, a Democrat who is running for mayor in Belleville, New Jersey, was allegedly caught on tape making some extremely racist remarks.

In the voicemail, left by the former chairman of Belleville’s planning board, Sam Papa, on the phone of Councilman Kevin Kennedy, a voice thought to be Burke’s can be heard in the background screaming the angry racist comment.

“This is terrible. This is terrible. This is gonna be a f—— n—– town,” Burke is allegedly heard yelling in the background, as Papa is heard discussing tax changes.

GOP Senate Candidate Thrown Out Of Press Meeting After Calling Out Disrespectful Reporter (+video)

Oregon Republican candidate for Senate Mark Callahan was thrown out of a meeting with reporters from local alternative newspaper Willamette Week after chastising a reporter for writing “blah blah blah” in his notepad as another candidate explained her policy positions.

A group of GOP Senate hopefuls each seeking the Oregon paper’s endorsement sat down with a group of Willamette Week reporters. One candidate, Joe Rae Perkins, called into the meeting to explain her political platform. But not all the journalists were interested — and Callahan happened to notice.

“You want to talk about disrespect, I see what you’re writing down there,” he angrily accused reporter Nigel Jaquiss. “You just wrote down ‘blah blah blah blah blah’ for everything that Joe Rae said. Joe Rae is a respectable woman. Why are you not respecting her by writing ‘blah blah blah blah blah’ on your notepad?”

The moderator suggested that Callahan “move on” and answer the next question “respectfully.”

“You have to give respect in order to get respect,” he shot back. “Right now on that side of the table, you’re not giving very much respect to the five of us and our time here.”

Family and friends of 19-year-old Samantha Ramsey are overcome with grief — and demanding answers — after a cop fired four shots into a car the teen was driving. Ramsey was struck by one of the bullets and died on scene.

Dashcam footage shows the encounter seconds before Boone County Sheriff’s Deputy Tyler Brockman fired four shots into a car full of teenagers. Brockman was standing on the highway in front of his vehicle as Ramsey slowly pulled her vehicle in front of him. He shined his flashlight into her face and appeared to signal her to stop the car, but she continues moving the vehicle out of dashcam view. Seconds later, Brockman fired four shots, causing the car to careen into a ditch, according to Fox 19.

Two passengers exited the vehicle. The driver, Ramsey, had been shot. She was taken away in an ambulance, but had died on scene, according to The Huffington Post.

Brockman claimed Ramsey tried to run him over, and he fired the shots in self-defense. The dashcam footage complicates this narrative, however.

Even so, it is difficult to imagine a scenario that justified the shooting, which could have harmed multiple people. There were four people in the car in total.

Utah Lawmaker Moves to Disarm BLM, IRS, Says ‘They’re Not Paramilitary Units’

Rep. Chris Stewart of Utah, concerned about the armed agents that surrounded Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s property, is mulling a measure to cut funding for any “paramilitary units” that work for the Bureau of Land Management, the Internal Revenue Service and other federal regulatory agencies.

“There are lots of people who are really concerned when the BLM shows up with its own SWAT team,” he said, the Salt Lake Tribune reported. “They’re regulatory agencies. They’re not paramilitary units, and I think that concerns a lot of us.”

His mulled amendment to an appropriations bill comes in context of recent BLM actions against Mr. Bundy: The federal agents armed themselves and surrounded his property, tasered his son, closed down road access to the ranch and even shot a couple of his prize bulls. The reasons? Mr. Bundy hadn’t paid his grazing fees to the federal government, but rather fought the matter in court.

Militia from all over the nation came to the ranch to support Mr. Bundy in his standoff with the BLM — and for that, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid labeled them “domestic terrorists,” various media reported.
