Obama reverts to 2008 plan: Blame Bush

No sooner had Mitt Romney effectively locked up the Republican presidential nomination than President Obama began to sharpen his attacks — on former President George W. Bush.

In pushing for a tax increase this week on millionaires, Mr. Obama said an unfair impact of tax cuts for the wealthy were enacted during the “eight years before I took office.” A White House spokesman argued that Mr. Bush’s tax policies contributed to “global economic chaos.”

Administration officials also took verbal swipes after North Korea’s unsuccessful missile launch last week, accusing Mr. Bush of having rewarded North Korea with food aid years ago in spite of its nuclear weapons activities.

Mr. Obama has criticized the Bush administration’s policies in the past, but the attacks of the past two weeks have been more direct and specific.

“In a poker game, this would be called a ‘tell,’ ” said Steve Schmidt, who managed Republican John McCain’s presidential bid in 2008. “It’s a signal about what the campaign is going to be. From the perspective of the Obama campaign, they’re trying to have a debate about things other than the president’s economic record.”

New Photo Shows Bloodied Back of Zimmerman’s Head

George Zimmerman surprised a Florida court today by taking the stand and apologizing to the parents of Trayvon Martin, who were sitting in the courtroom during Zimmerman’s bond hearing.

“I am sorry for the loss of your son. I did not know how old he was. I thought he was a little bit older than I was,” Zimmerman said addressing Martin’s family directly.

Zimmerman took the stand wearing a dark suit with his hands shackled to a belt around his waist.

His surprising testimony came the same day that ABC News exclusively obtained a photograph showing the bloodied back of Zimmerman’s head, which was apparently taken three minutes after he shot and killed Martin. The photo could give credence to Zimmerman’s claim that Martin had bashed his head against the concrete as Zimmerman fought for his life.

The bond hearing concluded this morning with Judge Kenneth Lester agreeing to allow Zimmerman, who is charged with second degree murder, to post a $150,000 bond to get out of jail. The prosecution had argued that Zimmerman should be denied bail or that it should be set at $1 million.

Did Libya Fire Rockets At Israel?

An Israeli defense official says rockets fired from Egypt toward Israel this month were smuggled from Libya.

Israel says at least two rockets were launched from Egypt’s Sinai desert at the Israeli resort town of Eilat. No one was hurt. Egypt denies the rockets were fired from its territory.

Libya has become an illicit source of weapons since the fall of dictator Moammar Gadhafi last year.

The Israeli official, speaking on condition of anonymity according to military regulations, says Israel believes the rockets were stolen from a Libyan weapons storehouse and smuggled into Egypt.

The official said Friday that Libyan rockets were also smuggled into the Gaza Strip and were launched into Israel this month.

Central Planning for Dummies: There Will Be QE

For several years now I have been sounding the alarm that if you want to be engaged in the financial markets you need to assume that markets are being managed (rigged) more aggressively than at any moment in any of our lives. The Bernank and others on Wall Street and the District of Criminals understand that the situation is pretty much hopeless. Ever since 2008 they have had one strategy. From a monetary and fiscal standpoint, that strategy has been to pump massive amounts of liquidity into the system while at the same time borrow enormous amounts of money. The thinking was that this would stabilize the situation, create confidence and thus ultimately a dynamic sustainable recovery. They certainly bought a few years with this plan but confidence has not returned, nor has there been any sustainable recovery. What we need to understand at the moment is that The Bernank and all of his fellow Keynesian Central Planning magicians know that they have failed. This is why he is running around on college campuses presenting his sad and intellectually dishonest presentation of propaganda that even a six year old could refute. In fact several people have done just that. Here is one good article on it. Moreover, Jim Grant recently gave an incredible speech at the belly of the beast itself -The New York Federal Reserve –where he completely undresses the Fed right to their face. You must read this one.

So what we need to understand is that we are in one of the most dangerous phases of this crisis at the moment. The priests of fiat are being attacked from all sides. People have awoken to the Fed and how criminal and deceitful this organization is and the existential threat it poses to economic freedom and hence human liberty. The arguments against the Fed are blistering and the only rebuttal the Fed has is to spout the same old nonsense like “we saved the world” or some trite derivative of this fallacy. The only thing they saved are untalented speculators from their bad bets. What the Fed has systematically done is literally transfer all of the bad debts and bets from the banks to the taxpayer. We are living this reality to this day. This fact is becoming increasingly understood throughout society, hence the emergence of the tea party and then last year’s Occupy Wall Street movement. So the thing I want my readers to really internalize is that the Fed and indeed TPTB generally are getting slaughtered in the intellectual arena and they know it. As a result, they feel cornered and will thus act increasingly aggressive to prove they are right and everyone else is wrong.

As I have said many, many times before, The Bernank needs to create more money and he knows it. He is irate beyond belief that his academic theories have not worked. He is furious that he can’t make the housing market come back to life. He is having a temper tantrum that people actually have the nerve to link printing trillions of dollars to the rise in commodity prices. He wants to launch QE3 this quarter but he feels like public opinion is against him (he’s right) and Obama is having his own little panic attack about gasoline prices and the election. So what’s a Central Planner to do? Well, exactly what they have been doing as of late. Lie.

Rep. West doubles down on communist ‘ideology’ of Progressive Caucus

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) on Thursday maintained that “the strategy, the tactics, the ideology” of Progressive Caucus members in Congress are the same as those of the Communist Party.

“I’m just talking about the fact of the ideologies, the principles you believe in,” he said on CNN, urging others to “stand upon truth” and learn to identify the ideological motivations of members of Congress. “I’m calling it this: communist, progressive, Marxist, socialist, statist.”

Last week, West told a crowd of supporters in his home state that he believes “there’s about 78 to 81 members of the Democratic Party that are members of the Communist Party.” He went on to explain he was talking about the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

CPC Co-chairmen Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.) and Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) compared West’s remarks to those of former Sen. Joe McCarthy, who “divided Americans with name-calling and modern-day witch hunts that don’t advance policies to benefit people’s lives.” McCarthy was censured by the Senate for the tactics he used in his attempt to root out Soviet spies and sympathizers during the Cold War.

West has not backed off the comment. “I’m not going to back down. I’m not going to be afraid about the fact that I called a spade a spade,” he said Tuesday.

Zimmerman’s media lynching continues

In this racially charged case, a man charged with the crime of defending himself is being tried, found guilty, and strung up by the media. Figuratively.

Second degree murder charges were leveled based on the prosecutor claiming that the accused, George Zimmerman was stalking Trayvon Martin. Never mind that the stalking statutes require a pattern of following the victim and this was a one shot deal. Also, how many stalkers call 911 to tell the police that they are stalking somebody?

Putting that aside, a Jeff Black article posted on MSNBC.com typifies why Zimmerman is swinging from a tree in the court of public opinion (emphases throughout are mine):

“Seminole County Circuit Judge Jessica Recksiedler took herself off George Zimmerman’s second-degree murder case on Wednesday because of a possible conflict of interest.”

The conflict of interest is that she is up for re-election and this is a political ticking time bomb.

“The new judge on the case is Judge Kenneth Lester Jr., a 15-year veteran who has heard death penalty cases, the Orlando Sentinel reported.”

Obama Doubles Down On More Solyndras

Green Energy: Another day and another set of layoffs at a Department of Energy-backed solar company and an electric-car maker funded with stimulus dollars. Yet the President wants to double down on green energy.

First Solar, a solar energy company that received a $1.46 billion loan guarantee from the Department of Energy, announced Monday it will lay off 2,000 workers worldwide. In December, First Solar laid off 100 employees at a Santa Clara , Calif., plant.

The DOE has committed the loan to a project in Riverside County, Calif., expected to create a whopping 15 permanent jobs and 550 construction jobs.

Contrast this boondoggle with the privately funded Keystone XL pipeline, delayed by President Obama over alleged environmental concerns, which would create 20,000 jobs initially and perhaps 10 times that over the life of the project. It will bring 800,000 barrels of oil daily to U.S. refineries, whether the sun shines or not.

Last Friday, Delaware Online reports, 12 more workers — including engineers and maintenance technicians — were laid off at Fisker Automotive’s plant in Wilmington, Del., an old General Motors facility.

Indonesian Source: Obama Would Have to Hunt for Dog Meat in Jakarta

Fidogate has just gone international. Already the Left is defending Obama for eating dog meat on the grounds that his stepfather–who was Indonesian–wanted to share his culture and customs with him. But there’s just one problem with this: it wasn’t his culture or custom.

In fact, in Jakarta, where the Obamas lived with their Indonesian stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, dog meat is illegal. In the majority Muslim Indonesia, eating dog is forbidden among most ethnic groups in the islands, though a small, black market is said to exist for those looking for it. The only exception are the Batak people, principally of Northern Sumatra who eat it on holidays–but Obama’s stepfather, who was raised in West Java, isn’t a part of that ethnic group. Besides, the Obamas lived hundreds of miles and several islands away.

A diplomatic source close to the Indonesian delegation in the U.S. confirms that while dog is sometimes eaten in Indonesia, it is done so very rarely. “Obama had to go hunting for dog meat,” the source, who didn’t want to be identified, told me.

“I don’t know of anyone who eats it and frankly, I’m a little offended you would ask.”

Breitbart.com scoured Indonesian cook books. Not one mentions ways to prepare dog.

Obama: al-Qaida terrorizes because of “poverty & ignorance, helplessness & despair”

The 9-11 attacks were carried out because of a lack of “empathy” for others’ suffering on the part of al-Qaida, whose terrorist ideology “grows out of a climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair,” President Obama once explained in largely unreported comments eight days after the mega-terror attacks that rocked the nation.

Obama went on to imply the September 11th attacks were in part a result of U.S. policy, lecturing the American military to minimize civilian casualties in the Middle East and urging action opposing “bigotry or discrimination directed against neighbors and friends of Middle-Eastern descent.”

“Even as I hope for some measure of peace and comfort to the bereaved families, I must also hope that we, as a nation, draw some measure of wisdom from this tragedy,” Obama wrote in a piece about 9-11 published on Sept. 19, 2001, in Chicago’s Hyde Park Herald.

The politician continued: “Certain immediate lessons are clear, and we must act upon those lessons decisively. We need to step up security at our airports. We must re-examine the effectiveness of our intelligence networks and we must be resolute in identifying the perpetrators of these heinous acts and dismantling their organizations of destruction,” wrote Obama.

“We must also engage, however, in the more difficult task of understanding the sources of such madness. The essence of this tragedy, it seems to me, derives from a fundamental absence of empathy on the part of the attackers: an inability to imagine, or connect with, the humanity or suffering of others. Such a failure of empathy, such numbness to the pain of a child or the desperation of a parent is not innate; nor, history tells us, is it unique to a particular culture, religion or ethnicity. It may find expression in a particular brand of violence, it may be channeled by particular demagogues or fanatics.

Revealed: US and British agencies sounded alarm about Obama’s ‘Anti-American’ and ‘Anti-white’ Father

In his three years as U.S. president, Barack Obama has been dogged by claims he is not patriotic enough.

Last year he even had to publish his birth certificate to silence doubters who suggested he was not born an American.

Now it emerges that similar fears were expressed about his father, who was categorised with others as ‘anti-American and anti-white’ when he moved to the United States in 1959.

Mr Obama Snr had grown up in Kenya under British rule and aroused the fears of both colonial officers and American officials when he won a chance to study in Hawaii. The officials felt Kenyan students were ‘academically inferior’ with a ‘bad reputation’ for turning anti-American.

A memo from a British diplomat in Washington to Whitehall – released today by the National Archives in West London – sets out their concerns about the young Kenyans.
