RON PAUL’S ‘JEREMIAH WRIGHT’?

WASHINGTON – A bestselling author, speaker and commentator who likes presidential candidate Ron Paul’s “incredibly refreshing principles, ideas, qualities and character” might be the last person you would expect to blow the whistle on holes in Paul’s foreign policy prescriptions and assumptions behind them.

But that’s just what Joel Richardson does today in an exclusive and explosive commentary in WND.

In a WND column, Richardson writes: “Let me begin by making it very clear that there are a lot of reasons to love Ron Paul.”

“But despite the allure of Paul’s constitutional convictions, his perspective concerning United States foreign policy, radical Islam and the nation of Israel are an absolute deal breaker,” Richardson writes. “Paul’s emphatic trademark claim that the present rise of Islamic terrorism globally is the result of ‘blowback’ from American actions abroad is nothing less than ridiculous and an absolute insult to my intelligence. According to Paul, radical Muslims are not radical because they have drunk deeply from the trough of an expansionist, racist and murderous ideology, but rather because American actions abroad have brought about the natural response of resistance.”

Read the column.

Paul attributes his idea that that U.S. “occupation” is the primary motivation of the vast majority of suicide terrorist attacks – including 9/11 – to Robert Pape, author of “The Explosion of Global Suicide Terrorism and How to Stop It,” who studied 2,200 such incidents since 1980.

Depp, Burton not in W.H. visitor logs

The White House is under fire for reportedly trying to downplay the role that two Hollywood stars played at a 2009 Halloween party, with press secretary Jay Carney today calling the media’s reporting on the incident “irresponsible” and denying reports of an attempted cover-up. But no record of the two stars, Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, appears in the official White House visitors logs.

An administration source said that entertainers are generally not recorded in the visitors logs. “Entertainers and production crews who are working events are generally not WAVED in since they are not guests visiting the White House, they are working,” the official said.

The initial revelations about the 2009 party come from New York Times reporter Jodi Kantor’s new book “The Obamas.” Kantor reports that staffers were concerned about the White House hosting a Hollywood-style, ‘Alice in Wonderland’-themed Halloween party in the midst of an economic downturn. As a result, Kantor charges, the White House did not publicize the role that director Tim Burton and actor Johnny Depp played at the event. Burton helped decorate and choreograph the party, while Depp attended in costume as the Mad Hatter.

Other stars — even when they are the entertainment — have appeared in the logs. A May 11th poetry reading by the rapper Common, for example, was logged. So were musicians Herbie Hancock and Stevie Wonder when they played at President Obama’s 50th birthday. Singer Beyonce Knowles, however, does not appear in the visitor logs when she performed at a 2010 state dinner.

The White House furiously denied Monday there was any cover-up or attempt to downplay Burton or Depp’s roles, pointing to the fact that the media attended the event and that reports of Depp’s attendance surfaced on fan websites and local press.

President Obama’s Myopic View of the Muslim Brotherhood

Attaining political power includes winning elections and forming a state run according to Islamic law, the liberation of countries of Islam from a foreign yoke, uniting them into one Islamic entity, and spreading Islamic values around the globe on the ruins of the liberal West.

President Barack Obama’s view of the Muslim Brotherhood is based on his — and his advisors’ — apparent rationale that the Islamist group is reformed and much more like the American and European models of pluralistic societies.

However, experts on Islam and terrorism claim that the Muslim Brotherhood’s — and the radical Salafists — dominance of the Egyptian government, by virtue of its recent parliamentary election victories, will eventually lead to the imposition of Sharia law on Islamic Arabs and jihad against infidels.

“Nothing the Obama administration is trying to do through its aggressive overtures, including recent high-level meetings with Muslim Brotherhood officials, will change that fact. Jihad is embedded in its history, as evidenced by the violent Islamic jihadist organizations such as Hamas that it spawned. And let’s not forget that it was the Muslim Brotherhood that gave Osama bin Laden’s former deputy and current leader of al Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri, his start,” said attorney and World Net Daily investigative journalist Joseph Klein.

Klein states that Jihad remains in the Muslim Brotherhood’s DNA. Its motto includes the words: “Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.” The Brotherhood’s new offices are emblazoned with its emblem of crossed swords.

Pro-life college student quits job with Girl Scouts over ‘end abortion’ t-shirt

TUCSON, Arizona, January 9, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – An Arizona college student who stopped in at her workplace wearing a pro-life t-shirt quit her job rather than obey a supervisor who ordered her to turn the “Pray to End Abortion” shirt inside out.

Renise Rodriguez, a 21-year-old religious studies major at the University of Arizona, worked as a Girl Experience Associate for the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona in Tucson. When she went to her office on Jan. 3 during her off-duty hours to prepare materials for a meeting, she was told twice by a supervisor that if she planned to stay in the office, or attend a troop meeting, she would have to turn her shirt inside out.

“I started to get emotional because of the way I was treated so I left without preparing for the meeting and told my co-worker that she would have to get the stuff together,” Miss Rodriguez said. “As I was driving out, I called a friend crying and told her the story. I was so shocked at the way I was treated. After contemplating it for the rest of that day, I decided to write my letter of resignation.”

Her letter did not specify her reason for resigning, but she plans to discuss it with another supervisor when she does her formal exit interview.

“It is the courage and conviction of young people like Renise that gives us hope that we are closer than ever to winning this battle and bringing an end to child killing in America,” said Bryan Kemper, Director of Youth Outreach for Priests for Life. “Young heroes like Renise prove this generation is a pro-life generation.”

Media mob chases Ron Paul from campaign stop in New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, N.H. — A campaign stop at a New Hampshire eatery mutated into a circus on Monday when the media scrum chasing Ron Paul apparently became too much for the 76-year-old Texas congressman to handle.

Paul had been planning to make the rounds through Moe Joe’s restaurant before settling down to eat breakfast with his wife, Carol — who said he enjoys apple pancakes — at a table in the corner.

But the plans quickly changed. Barely able to move through the restaurant as hundreds of journalists and videographers surrounded him on all sides, Paul ignored the questions being lobbed at him and slowly inched through the restaurant, offering a few autographs to supporters along the way.

“Guys, you’ve got to take it easy,” shouted one Paul staffer, imploring the media to give the congressman some space.

No such luck.

Perry: “I would send troops back into Iraq”

Rick Perry said he would send U.S. troops back to Iraq at a Republican presidential debate in New Hampshire on Saturday.

“The idea that we allow the Iranians to come back into Iraq and take over that country, with all of the treasures, both in blood and money, that we have spent in Iraq- because this president wants to kowtow to his liberal leftist base, and move out those men and women. He could have renegotiated that time frame. I think it is a huge error for us,” Perry said at the debate, sponsored by ABC News/Yahoo!/WMUR-TV.

This is the not the first time that the Texas governor has been critical of President Obama’s foreign policy in Iraq, but it is the first that he has suggested sending troops back after their withdrawal last month.

At a campaign stop in Iowa in December, Perry said on Iraq, “Giving your enemy is a timeline of which you’re going to withdraw is really bad tactics.”

Perry was bolder at the ABC News/Yahoo GOP presidential debate Saturday, citing Iran as a potential problem in Iraq.

Paul Slams Santorum In New Ad

Ron Paul’s Army Won’t Be Easily Broken

When Sarah Palin, during the post Iowa media spin feast, warned GOP leaders to not “marginalize” the Ron Paul supporters, she was looking ahead to the greatest challenge faced by whoever captures the nomination.

The Republican leaders in DC loathe Ron Paul, and they loathe the thousands of mostly young activists he is bringing into the GOP. Like similar waves of activists in the past the insiders’ goal is to see their tide of enthusiasm break and dissipate like foam on a beach.

The insiders that actually run the GOP look nothing like the membership of the GOP. Walk the halls of the Republican National Committee in DC and you will find preppy ladder climbers that shift political philosophy to accommodate whichever boss will bid to pay the most.

These are the shock troops of the K Street lobby crowd more interested in Thursday night’s cocktail circuit than a jobless Iowa worker or a small businessman struggling in Nashua, New Hampshire. And the thought of Washington’s budget being cut by one trillion dollars as Ron Paul has envisioned chills them to the core.

If government contractors aren’t scoring fat contracts, then who will they lobby for, they fret. And if whole agencies are shuttered, how will they get a posting as a schedule C government employee with those awesome health, vacation and pension benefits.

Statistics show conservatives have always been right: more guns in honest hands equals less crime

Headlines announcing record purchases of guns during the Christmas gift giving season must have infuriated a lot of liberals. It’s a sign that another one of their tired old arguments is not resonating and they are losing on this crucial issue.

The very anti Second Amendment Barack Obama and his Party have some impressive and unambiguous numbers to argue against in their attempts to portray private ownership of guns as too dangerous to even consider.

In spite of what the media and their Democrat masters say, a twenty seven year study of accidental deaths conducted by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) places handguns toward the bottom of their list. An accompanying chart shows that with the exception of four years and not since 1993 it has been more dangerous to ride in a car than to be around a privately owned handgun.

Measured against all types of accidental deaths those caused by mishandled guns were substantially below deaths from vehicular accidents, fires falls poisoning and miscellaneous fatal occurrences. Just half of one percent of accidental deaths in the last 27 years can be traced to mishandled guns.

Americans are apparently not only safe around guns, but their guns seem to be making it dangerous for criminals to operate in our midst.
