Voters: Yes, Mr. Obama, you are killing economy

For years, Barack Obama has diverted attention from his own economic decisions by blaming his predecessor, George W. Bush, for the nation’s financial woes, from deficits to debt to taxes to Medicare and Medicaid spending.

But that strategy has reached the end of its effectiveness, according to a new poll that reveals more people blame Obama for the failed state of the economy now than blame Bush.

A new poll from the public-opinion research and media consulting company Wenzel Strategies shows that 22.3 percent of registered voters say Obama is the “one person” most responsible for the nation’s continuing economic troubles.

To the same question, 19.1 percent said George W. Bush. But critical to the coming 2012 election will be the fact that of the independents, on whose votes elections often are decided, nearly 23 percent blame Obama and only 15.5 percent blame Bush. The independents put in second place members of Congress, which is half controlled by Democrats, the poll revealed, ahead of Bush.

Pollster Fritz Wenzel pointed out the scenarios that the White House is facing because of the thinking of the American public.

Iran propositions Saudis, seeks anti-US pact, offers nuclear cooperation

A large Iranian delegation led by Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi visited Riyadh Monday, Dec. 12 and put a proposition before Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz: Why not bury the Saudi royal house’s historic feud with the ayatollahs of Tehran and form an anti-US and anti-Zionist pact for leading the Middle East? The Iranians boasted that after the seizure of America’s top secret drone technology by a successful cyber attack they must now be accepted as the superpower of the region.

Prince Nayef agreed to receive the delegation following a request from the office of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Moslehi is one of his closest advisers and a leading antagonist of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who was not told about the visit.

DEBKAfile’s Iranian sources report that the Iranians pushed hard for a partnership with the Saudis on such issues as oil, Iraqi, Syria, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Yemen, on most of which Tehran and Riyadh are in direct collision. Saudi Arabia spearheads the Persian Gulf emirates’ campaign to establish a bloc of Sunni Arab kings and rulers to fight off Iranian expansion and the influence of the Shiite Hizballah and Syria.

The visitors to Riyadh pointed out that a Saudi-Iranian axis in the region would be strong enough to freeze out American and Turkish meddling in the Arab Revolt. It would draw its strength from the combination of Iranian military, intelligence and nuclear capabilities on the one hand and Saudi power and wealth on the other. For the sake of this pact, Moslehi said, Tehran was willing to share its nuclear program with Riyadh.

The Moslehi delegation represented high-ranking Iranian military and intelligence chiefs, while Prince Nayef was attended by the heads of Saudi intelligence services, including Director of General Intelligence Prince Muqrin bin Abdul Aziz.

RINOs Plot to Lose 2012, Too

The Republican Party hacks — the ossified leaders who appear to cooperate with the Democrats to help conservative candidates lose primaries and general elections — got exposed for what they really are this week. In some staffer’s mistake (or was it?), a Yahoo News reporter allegedly heard the old has-beens warn against “making personal attacks against President Barack Obama.”

Yahoo’s Rachel Rose Hartman says they warned on their private conference call that to attack Obama personally would be “too hazardous for the GOP.” That means they have told the Tea Party crowd and other conservatives who ask if Obama is even eligible to be president: Don’t Ask, and Don’t Tell.

Where have these creeps been when we needed them to defend good GOP candidates under vicious attacks from the Democrats and their media? In an infuriating revelation of the GOP’s Rules for Losers, we see a repeat of their 2008 game plan that doomed moderate progressive John McCain, who was too much of a gentleman to bring up anything about Obama that might suggest the Democrat should not be elected president. McCain even forbade his staff from using Obama’s legal middle name, Hussein.

I guess McCain thought it was worth losing the election to remain “pure.”

One operative explained why Republicans should repeat the McCain plan in 2012. “There’s a lot of people who feel sorry for him,” Nicholas Thompson, a Republican pollster, supposedly said. That’s right; the Republican establishment doesn’t want our candidates to say anything negative about the worst president in decades, because people may feel sorry for Obama.

Video: Is Congess About to Give Obama the “Internet Kill Switch”?

A bill pending before Congress may make it illegal for websites to link to content the government says is illegal. The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) seeks to protect U.S. businesses from (mostly Chinese) copyright infringement by criminalizing forms of online piracy — but the strictures are so severe some say they amount to an “internet kill switch.”

Ironically, China’s bid to smother the internet is being held up as a model for America’s future. Former Senator Chris Dodd, formerly mired in the housing scandal and who now heads the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA),said, “When the Chinese told Google that they had to block sites or they couldn’t do [business] in their country, they managed to figure out how to block sites.” That’s not a big concern, unless one of the President Obama’s closest advisers is publicly stating China is a superior model to the United States.

Bill Wilson of Americans for Limited Government sketched out the bill’s Orwellian overtones in The Hill:

Under the so-called “Stop Online Piracy Act” (SOPA) the federal government – which is prohibited constitutionally from abridging free speech or depriving its citizens of their property without due process – would engage in both practices on an unprecedented scale. And in establishing the precursor to a taxpayer-funded “thought police,” it would dramatically curtail technology investment and innovation – wreaking havoc on our economy.

Consider this: Under the proposed legislation all that’s required for government to shutdown a specific website is the mere accusation that the site unlawfully featured copyrighted content. Such an accusation need not be proven – or even accompanied by probable cause. All that an accuser (or competitor) needs to do in order to obtain injunctive relief is point the finger at a website.

Additionally, SOPA would grant regulators the ability to choke off revenue to the owners of these newly classified “rogue” websites by accusing their online advertisers and payment providers as co-conspirators in the alleged “piracy.” Again, no finding of fact would be required – the mere allegation of impropriety is all that’s needed to cut the website’s purse strings.

Atheists Declare War on Christmas

Atheist messages have displaced most of the Christmastime nativity scenes that for nearly six decades a coalition of local churches had placed in Santa Monica’s ocean-view park.

Local churches have traditionally claimed 14 of the 21 Palisades Park display spaces to illustrate the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. But atheists managed to get all but three of the spaces this year because of a new city lottery system.

https://bit.ly/tr8h1T

Two individuals snagged 18 spaces. One person can request a maximum of nine spaces.

“Our belief is that these new applicants have been working together to displace and push out the nativity scenes from the park, rather than erecting a full display of their own,” said Hunter Jameson, a spokesman for a coalition of the city’s churches.

Secularist Damon Vix is behind the anti-Christian crusade.

US units exiting Iraq deployed in Jordan to forestall Syrian attack

As the US completes its final withdrawal from Iraq, American special forces troops have been diverted to positions in Jordan opposite a Syrian tank concentration building up across the kingdom’s northern border, DEBKAfile’s military and intelligence sources report.

As of last Thursday, as of last Thursday Dec. 8, military convoys, air transports and helicopters have been lifting US troops across the border from Iraq. They have been deployed in position to ward off a possible Syrian invasion in the light of President Bashar Assad’s warning that he would set the entire Middle East on fire if the pressure on his regime to step down persisted.

Syria’s other neighbors have taken precautions against this contingency

The incoming US contingents are disclosed by our sources as having been housed at the King Hussein Air Base of al-Mafraq, 10 kilometers from the Syrian border. US troops were sighted Monday, Dec. 12, building surveillance towers and army posts in the Jordanian villages of Albaej, Zubaydiah and al-Nahdah al-Houshah as well as near the Sarham dam of the Yarmoukh River which runs down the international border between Syria and Jordan.

Three months ago, the Syrian ruler cautioned Jordan’s King Abdullah II to stop granting asylum to Syrian military deserters and allowing his country to serve as a conduit for pumping arms to the opposition.

Can’t Raise Taxes? Hike Medicare Premiums Instead

Raising taxes on millionaires may be a non-starter for Republicans, but they seem to have no problem hiking Medicare premiums for retirees making a lot less.

The House is expected to vote Tuesday on a year-end economic package that includes increasing premiums for “high-income” Medicare beneficiaries, currently those making $85,000 and above for individuals, or $170,000 for families.

Just the top 5 percent of Medicare recipients now pay higher premiums, a policy that went into effect a few years ago. The new GOP proposal would expand that over time to include the highest-earning one-fourth of seniors.

Some would pay as much as several hundred dollars a month more for Medicare outpatient and prescription coverage. Millions who don’t consider themselves wealthy would also end up paying more.

On Monday the White House was mum on the Republican Medicare proposal, while AARP said it’s tantamount to a new tax. In the Democratic-led Senate, there’s not much enthusiasm.

Obama Hails ‘New Iraq,’ But Ignores Persecution of Christians and Other Religious Minorities

(CNSNews.com) – President Barack Obama, with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki standing at his side, hailed a “new Iraq” on Monday, but he failed to acknowledge persecution of religious minorities in the country that the United States helped to liberate.
“People throughout the region will see a new Iraq that’s determining its own destiny — a country in which people from different religious sects and ethnicities can resolve their differences peacefully through the democratic process,” Obama told reporters after his closed-door meeting with al-Maliki.

But Obama’s own State Department and a federal religious-freedom watchdog say that violence and threats against Iraqi Christians and other religious minorities is a continuing problem.

In a Dec. 7 letter to Obama, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), a federal body appointed by the president and congressional leaders, urged the president to take up the issue of religious freedom with the Iraqi prime minister.

“Since 2008, and most recently in May 2011, USCIRF has recommended that Iraq should be designated as a ‘country of particular concern’ under the International Religious Freedom Act for systematic, ongoing, egregious violations of religious freedom,” the letter said.

Newt Is Right About History Of Palestine

Newt is right. The Palestinian people are a “made up” people. According to many authoritative sources, the modern day Palestinians are derived from various ethnic groups including Jews, Romans, Muslims, Turks, Egyptians, etc. who lived in or conquered the land that is called the Southern Levant which roughly encompasses modern day Israel, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, the state of Jordan and the southern parts of Lebanon and Syria. The name for the area comes from the Romans in 2nd century CE who called it Palestine.

Palestinians have never had their own government until recently, their own homeland per se, or specific culture as they changed with each group that invaded the Southern Levant. Genetic analysis suggests that the Palestinians were from Christian and Jews of the area but when the area was conquered by Muslims in the 7th century, many became converts to the Muslim religion. When the Ottoman Turks took over the area in the 13th Century and ruled it until the British took it in 1917, many of the “Palestinian” people intermarried with those conquerors.

While most “Palestinians” today speak Arabic, and are Sunni Muslim, there are also Palestinian Christians, Jews, Druze and Samaritans. Modern genetics shows that the Samaritans were also derived from the Jewish people and specifically the group called “the priests” or the Kohanim. They use the Jewish Torah but have different ceremonies, language and terms.

Even though Jews had inhabited the area for over 5000 years, the Jewish people began their quest for a homeland from where they couldn’t be driven in the 1880’s when Zionists purchased much of the northern area of Israel from the Ottoman Turks. Mainly desert, the area was purchased and then developed by the early modern Zionists and Jews who turned it into a mecca of green and growing life. As funds grew, Zionists also purchased land along the ocean where Tel Aviv is currently located. They also migrated south and took the lands there.

Most scholars view the “Palestinians” as an identity that originated in the early part of the twentieth century. The Palestinians demand for independence and their own homeland came in 1921. It was a “political” push for statehood rather than a “religious” push and in the 1960’s they formed the political end by forming the Palestinian Authority.

Pro-life leaders weigh in on Sebelius’ Plan B call

WASHINGTON, December 9, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In the days after Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius put the kibosh on the FDA’s plans to give minors over-the-counter access to the morning-after pill, numerous speculations have arisen as to how one of the most pro-abortion politicians in the United States – as well as Barack Obama himself – found themselves at odds with the nation’s top abortion lobbies.

The FDA on Wednesday responded to a request from the drug’s manufacturer, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, to consider eliminating the need for a prescription.

But in announcing the final decision, FDA Administrator Margaret Hamburg noted that, while Sebelius had struck down the change, Hamburg herself felt the pill should be free for use by “all females of child-bearing potential,” hinting at a a clash at the highest levels of the administration. Sebelius later explained in her own letter that, especially as such a move would expose the powerful drug to girls as young as 11, the lack of data on Plan B’s effects on younger girls prevented her approval.

While claiming no involvement in the actual decision, President Obama agreed that “the reason Kathleen made this decision is that she could not be confident that a 10-year-old or an 11-year-old going to a drugstore should be able – alongside bubble gum or batteries – be able to buy a medication that potentially, if not used properly, could have an adverse effect.”

Abortion advocates such as the Center for Reproductive Rights and NARAL Pro-Choice America were aghast at the news: NARAL president Nancy Keenan complained that “we expected this kind of action from the Bush administration.” The Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) responded several hours later in a press release that it was “extremely disapointed.” PPFA president Cecile Richards followed up on Thursday with a public letter requesting a meeting with Sebelius, and on Friday with a critical editorial in the Huffington Post.
