You’re Probably Cracking Your Eggs Wrong — Which Could Be Hazardous to Your Health

. . .Whoever coined the phrase “there’s more than one way to crack an egg” was technically correct. But there’s only one way to crack an egg safely, experts say, warning that one of the most popular methods could wind up being hazardous to your health.

Many of us — even Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, who famously showed off her one-handed technique in an old baking video that recently went viral — do our cracking on the rim of the mixing bowl or frying pan.

But there’s a better, less risky way, said a pro writing for The Kitchn, a popular cooking site.

There are two reasons to be wary of the edge-of-the-bowl technique, they said — for one, this method will push the shattered shell back into the actual egg; you’re also risking tiny fragments falling into your bowl or pan.

The second reason? Bacteria from those shell fragments could wind up contaminating your food — people who like their eggs over easy or soft scrambled, for example, could be risking illness if the shell exteriors are carrying crud, the Mirror reported. Theater Officials Admitted to Raping Children in Past: Report

Officials with a civic theater near Seattle admitted in the past to raping children, KCPQ-TV reported, citing court documents referring to Renton Civic Theatre board president Alan Parsons and art director Bill Huls. Renton is little less than a half hour southeast of Seattle.

A whistleblower working within the theater told KCPQ-TV she went to the theater board about Huls’ child sex abuse admissions but noted her concerns were ignored, so she decided to post the information on Facebook.

“Renton Civic Theater [sic] is a broken organization,” the post from the whistleblower read. “Their artistic director is a registered sex offender and harasses women. He has clearly been at his harassment for many years and has not been stopped because not enough of us have spoken up.”

KCPQ said documents from 1990 it obtained showed Huls, then 22 years old, admitted to sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl who was the daughter of a family friend. The station said Huls pleaded guilty and was convicted. It isn’t clear what resulted sentencing-wise after that, but KCPQ added that court documents show Huls admitted to having graphic sexual fantasies involving children he personally knew. The station also said Huls admitted to being close in proximity to kids while in his theater group.

The theater’s board of directors included Huls’ wife as well as Alan Parsons, whom KCPQ reported is a convicted child molester. (Read more from “Theater Officials Admitted to Raping Children in Past: Report” HERE)

Tim Walz’s Coaching History Called Out After Ex-Football Players Hit Dnc Stage: ‘It’s Strange’

Former members of the Mankato West High School football team took center stage at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Wednesday night in support of their former coach, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, as he formally accepted the Democratic nomination for vice president.

However, social media stirred over the reference to Walz as a football coach who turned a losing team into state champions.

“In Minnesota, we trust a coach who turned a team that was 0-27 into state champions,” Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) said in her speech on the third night of the DNC.

Ben Ingman, one of Walz’s former students, who said the governor also coached him in seventh-grade basketball and track at Mankato, echoed that sentiment.

“Coach Walz got us excited about what we might achieve together. He believed in us, and he helped us believe in each other. And his leadership stuck. That track team went on to win a state title, just like the football team.” . . .

“Amy Klobuchar introduces Timothy Walz as a coach who ‘turned’ a team ‘into state champions,’” one person said in a post on X. “He was NEVER a head coach. He didn’t ‘turn’ anyone into state champions.” (Read more from “Tim Walz’s Coaching History Called Out After Ex-Football Players Hit DNC Stage: ‘It’s Strange'” HERE)

Documented: New Evidence That Shroud of Turin Dates to Time of Jesus

Ateam of Italian researchers have entered the debate over the Shroud of Turin, the linen cloth believed by some to have been Jesus Christ’s burial shroud.

In a study published in the journal Heritage, the authors conducted dating work on a sample from the Shroud, coming to the conclusion that it may be a 2,000-year-old relic.

The Shroud, which has long been the subject of intense scrutiny, features a faint image of man that some believe is the body of Jesus miraculously imprinted onto the cloth. While the latest study does not discuss the question of whether or not the artifact was indeed Jesus’ burial shroud, the authors did find that its age is roughly consistent with his time.

The findings challenge previous research supporting a medieval origin of the Shroud, which is one of the most studied archaeological objects in the world. (Read more from “Documented: New Evidence That Shroud of Turin Dates to Time of Jesus” HERE)

Suspect Accused of Threatening the Life of President Trump Arrested by Deputies

Authorities in Cochise County, Arizona, have taken into custody a man suspected of threatening to assassinate President Donald Trump, a circumstance that on Thursday triggered a widespread hunt for Ronald Lee Syrvud, 66.

A report from Daily Wire said the suspect was nabbed by authorities while Trump was visiting the state, which has been impacted by the colossal failure in the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris administration to secure the international border. . .

But the report said Syrvud had an outstanding warrant for felony failure to register as a sex offender and was charged with a sex offender violation on his arrest.

The Daily Mail reported Syrvud has in the past registered as a Democrat and has a long rap sheet, including pleading no contest to second-degree sexual assault of a child in 2000.

‘Burning Through People’: US Navy Considers Drastic Measure Over Manpower Shortage: Report

The U.S. Navy is reportedly considering drastic measures to tackle manpower shortage, sources told USNI News.

The Military Sealift Command (MSC) is reportedly facing operational challenges due to a shortage of qualified civilian mariners. This prompted a strategic plan to sideline 17 Navy support ships, USNI News reported, citing three people familiar with deliberations. This proposal, termed as a “force generation reset,” reportedly aims to alleviate the staffing strain by putting two Lewis and Clark-class replenishment ships, one fleet oiler, twelve Spearhead-class Expeditionary Fast Transports (EPF) and two expeditionary sea bases into extended maintenance while reassigning their crews to other vessels.

The two forward-deployed expeditionary sea bases identified in the plan are the USS Lewis Puller (ESB-3) and USS Herschel “Woody” Williams (ESB-4), two sources told USNI news. These vessels have been pivotal in regional naval operations, including counter-smuggling and special operations, the outlet noted. The reallocation of their crews has reportedly been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent stringent onboard restrictions, USNI News stated.

This move is necessitated by a staffing shortfall that could potentially reduce the MSC’s demand for mariners by as many as 700 billets, the outlet noted. The draft plan is reportedly awaiting approval from Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti. It currently operates 4,500 billets with a mariner-to-billet ratio of about 1.27, the outlet stated. This ratio is not operationally sound, two MSC master mariners told the outlet. Pollsters Say RFK Jr. Endorsement ‘Could Have a Really Big Impact’ and ‘Help Trump’

Republican pollster Lee Carter and Democratic pollster Carly Cooperman on Friday said that independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s endorsement of former President Donald Trump could significantly boost his campaign.

Kennedy announced during a Friday speech that he would suspend his campaign and endorse Trump in states where he is not on the ballot, only withdrawing his name from consideration in key battleground states as not to spoil the vote. Carter and Cooperman, on “Your World With Neil Cavuto,” said that in such a close election, the votes that Trump could gain from Kennedy’s decision might boost his chances of defeating Vice President Kamala Harris.

“When you’re looking at these battleground states, we’re looking at averages where Donald Trump might be ahead by 0.2%, and just getting some of those votes could have a really big impact. And I think RFK Jr. knows this,” Carter said. “He was very, very keen to say, ‘I am withdrawing my name from these 10 states because I know it can have an impact.’ And so I think there is a very, very clear directive here.”

“It’s absolutely the case that the polls in these swing states show that with RFK removed, there is a small advantage that goes to Donald Trump. And in these states, every single vote really does matter. This makes a lot of sense,” Cooperman said. “Democrats are far more enthusiastic about Kamala Harris as their presidential candidate than they were about Joe Biden. And so you’re seeing much more coalescing among Democrats for Kamala, and therefore the support that RFK was getting in the most recent polls was certainly going to help Trump more so with him removed from it.”

Cooperman also noted “there is uncertainty” about what Kennedy’s supporters will do in November. (Read more from “Pollsters Say RFK Jr. Endorsement ‘Could Have a Really Big Impact’ and ‘Help Trump'” HERE)

Jack Smith Surrenders: Special Counsel Will Not Seek Expedited Hearings in Donald Trump Case

Special Counsel Jack Smith reversed course in his quest to seek expedited hearings in his Washington, DC, case against former President Donald Trump.

Smith sought the hearings to determine which actions that Trump allegedly took he could charge in his election interference case against the president.

The Supreme Court’s July 1 decision that presidents enjoy partial immunity for actions taken in office in an official capacity spurred Smith to alter his approach.

Before Smith relented in his latest push to expedite the increasingly shaky case, Judge Tanya Chutkan had planned to hold hearings in the fall to determine which of Trump’s acts were official acts subject to prosecution.

That determination will now occur after the election — if it occurs at all. (Read more from “Jack Smith Surrenders: Special Counsel Will Not Seek Expedited Hearings in Donald Trump Case” HERE)

New Poll Reveals Trump Leading Harris in 2024 Presidential Race

A new Rasmussen Reports national poll has revealed a close contest for the 2024 presidential election, with former President Donald Trump edging out Vice President Kamala Harris. The poll shows Trump leading Harris by three percentage points, with Trump receiving 49% of the vote compared to Harris’s 46%.

The Rasmussen survey, conducted with a sample of 1,893 likely voters between August 15 and August 21, also indicates that Trump maintains his lead when third-party candidates are included. In this scenario, Trump receives 47% of the vote, while Harris trails at 45%. Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. holds 4%, and other third-party candidates account for 1% or less. Kennedy is expected to suspend his campaign and endorse Trump, which could further strengthen Trump’s position.

Rasmussen’s findings stand in contrast to other national polls. The conservative-leaning firm has a track record of close predictions, notably in the 2016 election. Meanwhile, the latest RealClearPolitics aggregate shows Harris with a slight lead over Trump in a broader five-way race, and a narrower edge in a two-way matchup.

Despite Harris’s current lead in broader polls, Trump remains strong in battleground states, projected to win 287 Electoral College votes to Harris’s 251. Trump is anticipated to dominate in key swing states, excluding Wisconsin.

Kamala Harris Sure Did Have an ‘Unexpected’ Path to Becoming the Democratic Nominee

On Thursday, Vice President Kamala Harris formally accept the nomination at the DNC. The speech wasn’t remarkable. It was also boring and disorganized, with our friends at RedState highlighting particular moments.

Early on, Harris mentioned President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. Tellingly, they weren’t present. Biden gave his speech on Monday night, at a shamefully late time, and left.

“When I think about the path that we have traveled together, Joe, I am filled with gratitude,” she claimed. It makes sense, considering he stepped aside so that she could replace him.

Even more telling, Harris declared that “America, the path that led me here in recent weeks was no doubt unexpected, but I’m no stranger to unlikely journeys.”

Harris didn’t earn a single vote in the 2020 or 2024 primaries. She ran for president for 2020 but dropped out in December 2019. She was selected as Biden’s running mate after he promised to pick a black woman. (Read more from “Kamala Harris Sure Did Have an ‘Unexpected’ Path to Becoming the Democratic Nominee” HERE)
