Another Jan. 6 Defendant Dies by Suicide While Awaiting Trial: Report

A Florida man has committed suicide while awaiting trial for his alleged actions at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, reports say.

David Kennedy Homol of Umatilla, Florida, about 45 miles northwest of Orlando, and his much younger half-brother, Dillon Homol, went to the Capitol that fateful day to participate in the “Stop the Steal” rally. While there, David Homol allegedly struck two police officers with a plastic flagpole before illegally entering the building with Dillon.

Later that day, David reportedly sent Dillon the following text message: “Today was not an antifa-inspired statement. It was totally done by angry Trump supporters with no firearms, many singing GOD bless America, Jesus saves, etc. The corrupt politicians should be relieved this was NOT an Armed rebellion. It clearly was a statement of strength of We The People.”

David Homol was not arrested until three years later, in January 2024. He was charged with felony obstruction of an official proceeding; civil disorder; and assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers, an FBI statement said.

He also faced a slew of misdemeanor charges, including knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or ground, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, and act of physical violence on Capitol grounds.

IRS Warns Thousands Could Face Criminal Charges for Filing False Returns

The IRS warned on Tuesday that thousands of taxpayers could face criminal prosecution if they filed false tax returns for high refunds.

In a press release, the IRS reiterated a warning not to fall for tax scams centered around the Fuel Tax Credit, Sick and Family Credit, and household employment taxes.

Despite the warnings, the IRS reportedly came across thousands of dubious claims from taxpayers for credits for which they were not eligible. As a result, the IRS has delayed the refunds and is requesting the taxpayers under investigation to provide proof they are eligible for the credits.

“Scam artists and social media posts have perpetuated a number of false and misleading claims that have tricked well-meaning taxpayers into believing they’re entitled to big, windfall tax refunds,” IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel said. “These bad claims have been caught during our fraud review process. Taxpayers who filed these claims should realize they’ve been tricked, and they face an extensive review process and a long potential wait if they’re owed a refund for other things.”

The Fuel Tax Credit is designed for off-highway business and farming use, the IRS said, and taxpayers who claim the credit are required to have a business purpose and qualifying business activity, like running a farm or purchasing gasoline for aviation purposes. Battleground State Removes Non-Citizens Improperly Registered After Investigation

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose ordered the state’s voter rolls to be purged of “non-citizens” Tuesday after a review found more than 100 Ohio residents who were registered to vote despite lacking U.S. citizenship.

An investigation by Ohio’s Public Integrity Division analyzed data from the state’s Bureau of Motor Vehicles and found 137 people who appeared on voter rolls despite twice confirming they were not U.S. citizens. Ohio law requires that in order for a person to be removed from voter rolls, they must have confirmed their lack of citizenship to the BMV on two separate occasions, and also have updated their voter registration or voted in between the two occasions.

“These individuals will receive at least two written notices from the Secretary of State’s office asking them to confirm their citizenship status or cancel their registration. Failure to respond to these notices will result in removal of the registration from the voter rolls by the county boards of elections,” LaRose’s office told Fox News Digital in a statement.

The improper voter registration could result in prosecution for some, but LaRose cautioned that not all instances are criminal.

“It’s important to recognize that some of these registrations may be the result of an honest mistake,” LaRose said. “These may be well-meaning people trying to pursue the American dream, and communication barriers sometimes result in a registration form being submitted in error. Stunning New Footage Again Indicts the UN’s Partnership With Hamas

The Israeli Defense Forces released new footage Tuesday afternoon showing a number of Hamas terrorists launching attacks from an United Nations Works and Relief Agency warehouse and using official UN vehicles for transport inside the Gaza Strip.

“On Saturday in eastern Rafah, the IDF identified terrorists openly operating at UNRWA’s central logistics compound and next to UN vehicles. The terrorists also opened fire at civilians just outside the compound,” Israel War Room posted on X. “Israel shared the information with senior officials in the international community and called on the UN to investigate.”

This UNWRA compound is in the southern Gaza city of Rafah, a place the Biden administration and Democrats have been adamant IDF soldiers should not be operating to take out Hamas and other terrorist groups.

In the aftermath of October 7, when 1400 civilians were slaughtered and hundreds were taken hostage into the Gaza Strip, it was revealed thousands of Gazans working for UNWRA have ties to terrorist groups. ‘Did Ashley Biden Call Childhood Showers With Her Father Probably Inappropriate?’: Major Fact-Checker Changes Answer

Fact-checking outlet Snopes changed its answer on whether Ashely Biden accused her father of inappropriate behavior from “unproven” to “true” after she authenticated the contents in a legal document.

Biden’s diary was stolen and sold to Project Veritas for $40,000 several weeks before the 2020 election. The president’s daughter detailed her suffering from being “hyper-sexualized” as a child, notably mentioning showers with her father at a young age that she deemed “probably not appropriate,” according to circulated photographs first published by the National File.

Snopes updated its “unproven” rating to “true” on April 29 after reviewing an April 8 letter from the president’s daughter to Chief U.S. District Judge Laura Taylor Swain, who sentenced Aimee Harris for conspiring to transport and sell the diary. The outlet also updated the headline of the fact check Tuesday to “Did Ashley Biden Call Childhood Showers with Her Father ‘Probably Inappropriate’ in Leaked Diary?” from “Did Ashley Biden Accuse Joe Biden of Inappropriate Behavior in a ‘Leaked Diary’?”

“The wording of both the headline and the claim of this fact check have been revised for more specificity,” the outlet said in an editor’s note.

“I will forever have to deal with the fact that my personal journal can be viewed online,” Biden wrote in the letter. “Repeatedly, I hear others grossly misinterpret my once-private writings and lob false accusations that defame my character and those of the people I love. Her actions were not only re-traumatizing to me, but constituted a horrific trauma in and of themselves. This ongoing harm is a direct result of Ms. Harris’ intentional actions.”

Court Rules Against Donald Trump’s Gag Order Appeal

Former President Donald Trump will remain gagged during his criminal trial in Manhattan, a New York appeals court ruled Tuesday.

Trump can now petition the New York Court of Appeals.

The gag order prevents Trump from making public comments about witnesses participating in the trial, counsel other than Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, “members of the court’s staff and the District Attorney’s staff, or … the family members of any counsel or staff member, if those statements are made with the intent to materially interfere with … counsel’s or staff’s work” on the case. It also encompasses prospective jurors.

The order read:

We find that Justice Merchan properly weighed petitioner’s First Amendment Rights against the court’s historical commitment to ensuring the fair administration of justice in criminal cases, and the right of persons related or tangentially related to the criminal proceedings from being free from threats, intimidation, harassment, and harm.

‘Keep the Voices Down’: In Unearthed Video, Doctors Discuss Putting Mentally Ill Patients, Including Kids, on Hormones

. . .Several top doctors advocated for patients, including children, to remain on hormone treatments despite having serious mental health issues, according to footage from a 2022 conference exclusively obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), an international organization that creates medical guidelines for transgender procedures, hosted an educational series in September 2022 in Montreal, Canada. The DCNF obtained roughly 30 hours of video recordings from the 2022 conference through a public records request.

During one recorded session, Dr. Chris Booth, a child and adolescent psychiatrist at the University of British Columbia, said that psychotic symptoms should not necessarily prevent a patient from being on hormone therapy. He also discussed dealing with psychiatrists who want to end hormone treatments for patients undergoing psychotic episodes.

“I’ve had trans masculine individuals who’ve come in [to the hospital] with psychotic symptoms, and then the treating psychiatrist wants to stop their hormones” over concerns these drugs were exacerbating the patients’ mental health problems, Booth said. “I try to explain to them that having them resume menses would likely be a much greater detriment than having them remain on their hormone therapy.”

Under Biden, Federal Foster Care Funds Can Be Used to Buy Kids Chest Binders, Fake Penises

The Biden administration appears to be repurposing a federal program aimed at helping kids in the foster care system transition to adulthood, instead using the taxpayer dollars to fund efforts by children to transition into the opposite sex.

Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) says federal taxpayer dollars can be spent towards buying “personal items” that support “a youth’s expression of their gender identity,” which typically refer to accessories such as chest binders and so-called packers, which are prosthetic penises used by girls who want it to appear like they have male genitals.

A document from the Children’s Bureau, a federal agency which operates under the authority of HHS, reveals that federal funds can now be used by child welfare agencies to “support the provision of services, interventions, and supports to LGBTQIA2S+ children.” The document, titled “Federal Funding to Support Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, Two-Spirit, Plus (LGBTQIA2S+) Children, Youth, Young Adults, and Families,” explains that child welfare funds can now be used to encourage children to attempt to change their sex.

“[John H. Chafee Foster Care Program for Successful Transition to Adulthood] funding may be used in a number of ways to support LGBTQIA2S+ youth and allow them to participate in positive, affirming, age-appropriate activities,” the document states in reference to a foster care funding system. “For example, Chafee funds may be used to purchase personal items related to supporting a youth’s expression of their gender identity and/or sexual orientation.”

The Chafee funding program was originally intended to help children in the foster care system adjust to adult life, funding education, housing, and employment services. LGBT non-profit organizations took Biden’s policy guidance as an announcement that garments such as chest binders, used to flatten a girl’s breasts, and packers, which are prosthetic penises, can be purchased with federal dollars. ‘Mr. Fix-It’ Michael Cohen Bombs on the Stand, Offers No New Evidence to Convict Trump

By Washington Examiner. Michael Cohen apparently wants a reality show but, if his testimony Monday is any indication, reality is about to sink in for not just Cohen but the prosecutors and the court.

In stoking interest in his own appearance, the former Trump counsel promised the public that they should be “prepared to be surprised.”

Thus far, however, Cohen has offered nothing new and, more importantly, nothing to make the case for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Just before he took the stand, the New York Post revealed that Cohen has been peddling a reality show called “The Fixer,” including working with Colin Whelan, who helped create “Joe Exotic: Tigers, Lies and Cover-Up.” Whelan appears interested to stay within that genre.

Legal Adviser Declares Jury ‘Will Believe’ an Atoned Michael Cohen

By Washington Examiner. Michael Cohen’s legal adviser declared Monday that the ex-attorney of former President Donald Trump has atoned for his wrongdoing and will be believed by the hush money trial jury.

“Michael and I talked last night, and we recalled the journey that we’ve been on,” legal crisis manager and attorney Lanny Davis told Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC’s Morning Joe. “In late June of 2018, before he went public, I asked him, ‘How is anyone going to believe you after 10 years of lying for Donald Trump?’”

Cohen responded with a show of contrition and an acceptance of the consequences that would follow, according to Davis.

Supposedly Secure Messaging App Launched With Gov’t Funds, Headed By Propagandist Now Running NPR: Report

With over 100 million users, the encrypted messaging service app Signal is touted as private and secure; however, a new report reveals the app was allegedly not only launched with government funds but is headed by National Public Radio’s (NPR) CEO, Katherine Maher.

Christopher Rufo, a conservative activist and senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, released a piece Monday about the alleged connections between the U.S. government, Maher and Signal. The platform, which prides itself on privacy for users, has been endorsed by notable figures, including National Security Agency (NSA) whistleblower Eric Snowden, Tesla and Space X founder Elon Musk and former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.

Signal’s technological foundation, however, was originally funded “in part” by government resources, Rufo claims. The technology — used in the Facebook messaging app, WhatsApp — for the platform — which also ran as a nonprofit foundation — reportedly received a $3 million grant awarded by government agency Open Technology Fund (OTF) sometime between 2013 and 2016, according to Voice of America (VOA).

While the OTF is reportedly a spin-off of a government-funded private news service, Radio Free Asia, the technology fund claims their goal is to “advance internet freedom in repressive environments by supporting the research, development, implementation, and maintenance of technologies that counter censorship and combat repressive surveillance to enable all citizens to exercise their fundamental human rights online,” according to their site.

Awards from the OTF to technology platforms are not uncommon; a 2020 VOA report shows the government agency awarded millions to others in addition to OTF. The connection between OTF and Signal, though, is allegedly deeper than just the grant. An anonymous source who “worked extensively with OTF” claimed to Rufo that, over time, it appeared “the project was actually a State Department-connected initiative that planned to wield open source Internet projects made by hacker communities as tools for American foreign policy goals.” The initiative allegedly empowered “activists [and] parties opposed to governments that the USA doesn’t like,” Rufo reported.
