Trump Says Tariffs Possible for Countries That Oppose U.S. Control of Greenland

President Donald Trump said Friday that he may use tariffs to pressure other nations into supporting U.S. control of Greenland, escalating his push to bring the Arctic territory under American authority.

Speaking to reporters, Trump warned that countries resisting his plan could face economic consequences. “I may put a tariff on countries if they don’t go along with Greenland,” he said, adding that control of the island is critical to U.S. interests. “We need Greenland for national security.”

The comments marked the first time Trump has publicly suggested using tariffs as a tool to force the issue. For months, he has argued that the United States must take control of Greenland because of its strategic location and growing global competition in the Arctic.

Greenland is a semiautonomous territory of Denmark, a longtime NATO ally. Danish and Greenlandic leaders have repeatedly rejected the idea of transferring control to Washington, insisting that the island is not for sale.

Trump’s latest remarks came as a congressional delegation met with Danish and Greenlandic lawmakers in Copenhagen in an effort to ease tensions between the countries. U.S. officials have been attempting to lower the temperature around the issue after Trump declared earlier this week that anything short of U.S. control of Greenland would be “unacceptable.”

Earlier in the week, the foreign ministers of Denmark and Greenland traveled to Washington for talks with Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. While those discussions did not resolve the dispute, the two sides agreed to establish a working group to continue negotiations.

However, Denmark and the White House later offered conflicting descriptions of what that working group would focus on, underscoring how far apart the parties remain.
Trump has repeatedly framed Greenland as essential to American defense strategy, citing its location between North America and Europe and the increasing military presence of Russia and China in the Arctic region.

Danish officials have acknowledged the importance of cooperation with the United States on Arctic security but have made clear that sovereignty over Greenland is not up for negotiation.

Florida Joins Texas In Ending American Bar Association’s ‘Gatekeeper’ Grip On Law Schools

In a major step toward greater ideological freedom in the legal profession, the state of Florida ended the left-wing American Bar Association’s (ABA) dominance over its law schools on Thursday.

In its nine-page order, the Florida Supreme Court revealed that it has amended the state’s bar admissions rule “to end the rule’s reliance on the American Bar Association (ABA) as the sole accrediting agency for law schools whose graduates are eligible to sit for this state’s General Bar Examination.” (Lawyers are required to pass the bar exam to practice law in each state.)

As noted in its order, the Florida Supreme Court appointed a “workgroup to study this issue” in March 2025, with the group submitting a final report later that year in October. The Sunshine State’s high court approved the rule changes last month, culminating in the release of Thursday’s directive.

“Based on its independent study and its consideration of the workgroup’s report, the Court is persuaded that it is not in Floridians’ best interest for the ABA to be the sole gatekeeper deciding which law schools’ graduates are eligible to sit for the state’s General Bar Examination and become licensed attorneys in Florida,” the court wrote.

The Florida justices contended that the new rules “create the opportunity for additional entities to carry out an accrediting and gatekeeping function on behalf of the Court.” They further argued that in adopting such changes, the court is seeking to “promote access to high-quality, affordable legal education in law schools that are committed to the free exchange of ideas and to the principle of nondiscrimination.” (Read more from “Florida Joins Texas In Ending American Bar Association’s ‘Gatekeeper’ Grip On Law Schools” HERE)

Man Shot By ICE Attacked Agent With A Shovel, But You Won’t Hear It From Legacy Media

An illegal alien from Venezuela violently attacked an ICE agent on Wednesday during a targeted arrest in Minneapolis, using a “shovel” or “broom.” Two other individuals also took part in attacking the officer. Fearing for his life, the agent fired a single defensive shot, striking the illegal alien in the leg. But you wouldn’t necessarily know that if you read coverage from the propaganda press.

The incident unfolded around 6:50 p.m. CT in Minneapolis when federal law enforcement officers “were conducting a targeted traffic stop … of an illegal alien from Venezuela who was released into the country by Joe Biden in 2022,” the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement posted to X.

The suspect allegedly fled the scene in his vehicle, crashed into a parked car, and then fled on foot. When the law enforcement officer caught up to the subject on foot, the suspect “began to resist and violently assaulted the officer.”

DHS says two other subjects then “came out of a nearby apartment and also attacked the law enforcement officer with a snow shovel and broom handle.” As the two other individuals violently attacked the agent, the original suspect allegedly broke loose and grabbed either a “shovel or broom stick” and began beating the officer.

The officer, being ambushed by three individuals, “fired a defensive shot to defend his life” and the Venezuelan man was struck in the leg. (Read more from “Man Shot By ICE Attacked Agent With A Shovel, But You Won’t Hear It From Legacy Media” HERE)

Creepy: Elon Musk Wants You to Cash In Your Retirement Savings Because AI Will Provide for Every Need

Tech Tycoon Elon Musk has declared that traditional retirement planning is obsolete due to coming technological advances he believes will eliminate scarcity. Musk says, “Don’t worry about squirreling money away for retirement in 10 or 20 years. It won’t matter.”

Fortune reports that Elon Musk, currently the world’s wealthiest individual, says that saving money for retirement serves no purpose given what he describes as an approaching wave of AI and robotics capabilities. Speaking on the Moonshots with Peter Diamandis podcast, Musk outlined his vision for a future where technological progress renders conventional financial planning obsolete.

On the Moonshots with Peter Diamandis podcast last week, Musk stated: “Don’t worry about squirreling money away for retirement in 10 or 20 years. It won’t matter.”

Musk’s comments on retirement savings are similar to his recent claims that in the AI utopia of his imagination, work will be “optional” and treated like a hobby:

Musk explained, “My prediction is that work will be optional. It’ll be like playing sports or a video game or something like that. If you want to work, [it’s] the same way you can go to the store and just buy some vegetables, or you can grow vegetables in your backyard. It’s much harder to grow vegetables in your backyard, and some people still do it because they like growing vegetables.”

Musk attributes this future of optional work to the rise of millions of robots in the workforce, capable of ushering in a wave of enhanced productivity. The tech mogul, worth approximately $470 billion, has been working on consolidating his sprawling business interests into his broader vision of an AI-fueled, robotic-powered future. This includes his goal of having 80 percent of Tesla’s value come from his Optimus robots, despite continuous production delays for the humanoid bots and the departure of key executives.

Illegal Venezuelan Migrant Shot in Minneapolis After Mercilessly Ambushing Fed Agent With Snow Shovel: DHS

An illegal Venezuelan migrant was shot in the leg by a federal immigration agent in Minneapolis after he allegedly fled during a traffic stop and beat the “ambushed” officer with a snow shovel Wednesday evening, the Department of Homeland Security said.

The suspect was behind the wheel when he tried to get away from federal immigration officers at around 6:50 p.m. local time, but he crashed into a parked car, according to DHS.

The migrant then tried to escape on foot and “violently assault[ed] the officer” as the two wrestled on the ground, according to an X post from the agency.

While the man continued to struggle with the officer, two other people emerged from a nearby apartment and allegedly mercilessly attacked the agent with a snow shovel and broom handle, the department said.

In the chaos, the Venezuelan migrant was able to wriggle out of the officer’s hold and also allegedly started striking him “with a shovel or broom stick,” according to the post.

The officer, “fearing for his life,” shot the Venezuelan man in the leg, DHS said. (Read more from “Illegal Venezuelan Migrant Shot in Minneapolis After Mercilessly Ambushing Fed Agent With Snow Shovel: DHS” HERE)

Trump Freezes All Immigration From Somalia Amid Massive Fraud Scandal

The State Department is freezing all immigration from Somalia after an internal investigation found that the “vast majority of Somali migrants take welfare once present in the United States,” the Daily Caller has learned.

The freeze is expected to remain in place while the State Department reassesses immigration processing procedures. The effort is meant to “prevent the entry of foreign nationals who would become a public charge on the American people,” the State Department shared with the Caller.

The State Department will freeze immigration from approximately 75 countries, including Somalia, on Jan. 21.

“Under President Trump, we will not allow aliens to abuse America’s immigration system and exploit the generosity of the American people. For years, foreign nationals from Somalia have entered the United States and extracted wealth from the American taxpayer, including by taking welfare at obscene rates,” Deputy Principal Spokesperson Tommy Pigott told the Caller.

“The Trump administration is exercising the State Department’s long-standing authority to end this abuse of our immigration system,” he added. (Read more from “Trump Freezes All Immigration From Somalia Amid Massive Fraud Scandal” HERE)

Dan Bongino Reveals What Triggered Viral Post About Being ‘Shocked’ To His ‘Core’ At FBI

Former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino recounted on “The Vince Show” Monday reading documents that led him to make a viral July 2025 X post about being “shocked” to his “core.”

Bongino wrote in the post, which garnered 20.5 million views, that he would “never be the same” following the revelations in the documents. He told host Vince Coglianese, who is also the Daily Caller’s editorial director and host of “The Vince Coglianese Show,” that he was reading Crossfire Hurricane documents on a Friday night.

“It was basically about Crossfire. I was just reading some stuff about Crossfire,” Bongino said. “And … I was blown away … I lived in this kind of tiny apartment in D.C., … And I’m sitting there and I’m thinking to myself, ‘I couldn’t believe it happened here.’ You know, Vince, like having been a Secret Service agent, a police officer, and I hadn’t been in the FBI role that long, but it had been a few months.”

“I just thought, gosh, these guardrails just broke down because of people. People are guardrails, not robots … And I was just stunned at how many people just let this — just the incredibly poor decision-making,” he added. “It blew my mind … I got up the next day and I just fired that out … I was really shaken by the whole thing, how these guardrails broke down so quickly. It was astonishing. And I was — oh boy. Even now talking about it, I just remember that feeling. Like, oh my gosh, did this really happen? Yeah, that’s what that was about.”

Crossfire Hurricane was the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign regarding allegations of Russian collusion. (Read more from “Dan Bongino Reveals What Triggered Viral Post About Being ‘Shocked’ To His ‘Core’ At FBI” HERE)

Renee Good’s Former Father-in-Law: ‘I Don’t Blame ICE’ for Her Death

Timmy Macklin, father-in-law of Renee Good, said he doesn’t blame Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for her death.

Macklin called the shooting of his former daughter-in-law a “hard situation all around” and said that “some bad choices” were made, during an interview with CNN on Tuesday.

“I don’t blame ICE. I don’t blame [Good’s “wife”] Rebecca. I don’t blame Renee,” he told Erin Burnett. “I just wish that, you know, if we’re walking in the spirit of God, I don’t think she would have been there. That’s the way I look at it.”

Macklin’s son had previously been married to Good before he died in 2023. The two share a now six-year-old son. Macklin described his former daughter-in-law as “an amazing person” and “good mother.”

“I just think we make bad choices, and that’s the problem, there is so much chaos in the whole world today,” he said. “We need to turn to God and walk in the spirit of God and let him lead us and guide us.”

Report: U.S. Military Intervention in Iran Could Begin Within 24 Hours — Bases Pull Personnel, Shift Posture Across Region

President Donald Trump is weighing imminent military action against Iran that could come “in the next 24 hours,” according to a Reuters report citing European officials, as the Pentagon begins pulling personnel from key U.S. bases across the Middle East and Tehran warns it would retaliate if Washington strikes.

The Reuters report, published Wednesday, said two European officials assessed U.S. military intervention now appeared likely, with one saying it could come within the next 24 hours, while an Israeli official similarly said it appeared Trump had made a decision to intervene — though the scope and timing remained unclear.

The determination came as the United States began withdrawing some personnel from bases in the region, a move the report said was widely viewed as preparation for possible strikes.

A U.S. official said the drawdown involved a precautionary removal of personnel from key bases given heightened regional tensions following warnings from a senior Iranian official that Iran would strike American bases in neighboring countries if the U.S. targets Iran.

That senior Iranian official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Tehran had warned regional states — including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey — that U.S. bases on their territory would be attacked if Washington launches strikes, while urging those countries to pressure Washington to stand down.

University Under Fire for Researcher Comment Calling for Assassination of Conservatives

The University of Washington is investigating comments made by a researcher who posted on social media, allegedly calling for the assassination of conservative voices.

Mara Maughan, who uses she/they pronouns according to her bio on the UW Fuller Labs website, is labeled as an RSE1 under the Department of Microbiology’s “research and lab staff.”

“May there be tyler robinsons for you all,” Maughan posted on Facebook in a comment directed at Educational Freedom Institute Executive Director Corey DeAngelis. . .

DeAngelis had posted a clip of a Democratic state senator in Washington state with the caption, “he can’t acknowledge that there are biological differences between men and women.”

“This kind of violent rhetoric from Mara Maughan and far too many others on the left — wishing for assassins to target conservatives like me and my family — absolutely concerns me, as it not only normalizes political violence but fuels a dangerous environment where radical ideologies in academia and beyond threaten our freedoms and safety without accountability,” DeAngelis told Fox News Digital.
