Disney’s New Lone Ranger Movie: A Lesson in White Guilt

Photo Credit: io9What makes the Lone Ranger finally embrace the need for his mask, and hence the whole “secret identity” thing? In a nutshell, he realizes his fellow white men are corrupt, and complicit in the mass murder of Tonto’s fellow Native Americans. If he takes the mask off, then he too will wind up becoming complicit. Yes, that’s right — in this film, the Lone Ranger’s mask is made of White Guilt.

And in fact, the only function the Native Americans in this film have, other than Tonto, is to die horribly so that the Lone Ranger will have a catalyst to make him Man Up.

But it’s more than that. We tend to think of superhero movies as power fantasies, in which the use of America’s status as a superpower is reflected by the hero struggling to use his or her power responsibly. But Lone Ranger seems to be making the case that the real seductive fantasy of these stories is absolution from blame — the Lone Ranger gets the Native American seal of approval from Tonto, as long as he’s wearing the mask. He gets surcease from America’s original sin.

That’s the secret of superheroes, according to this film: Peter Parker is a Tool of the Man, but Spider-Man is a free agent. Bruce Wayne is a capitalist running dog, but Batman fights for the little guy.

And that’s why you deserve to suffer. Because a lot of innocent people had to die to make your costume fantasy possible, you bastards.

Civil Liberties and the Civil War

Photo Credit: Tom GillOne hundred and fifty years ago, on July 4, 1863, twin Union victories at Gettysburg and Vicksburg decisively turned the course of the Civil War. One consequence of that victory was the emancipation of slaves in America. Another consequence has been the invention of a dangerous myth: that the federal government is the best vehicle for protecting civil liberties.

This myth has been so potent that when the Supreme Court ruled this June that the “preclearance” provisions of the Voting Rights Act no longer applied to suspect jurisdiction, which included nearly all of the South, self-anointed “civil rights” leaders warned of great dangers. Even among many conservatives, there is the false understanding that the Bill of Rights was intended to protect our liberties from all government.

Actually, the Bill of Rights is intended to protect American citizens and American states from the federal government, which was understood to be the greatest threat to civil liberties. After the Civil War, the Supreme Court invented out of whole cloth the “Incorporation Doctrine” by which the Bill of Rights in the Constitution was deemed to apply to states as well as the federal government.

This was utterly unnecessary: every state has its own Bill of Rights, and the first thirteen states had these bills of rights in force before the federal Bill of Rights or even the Constitution. These state bills of rights typically provided more civil liberties than the federal Bill of Rights.

Why, then, have Americans been persuaded that we need the federal Bill of Rights, federal laws, and federal courts to protect our civil liberties? The legacy of the Civil War is the sole basis for this curious and flawed reasoning. Grasping the irrationality of this belief requires dipping into American history before the Civil War.

Supreme Court’s Voting Rights Decision Shows Roe Should be Overturned

Photo Credit: APWhen the Supreme Court struck down part of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 on June 25, Chief Justice John Roberts explained that Congress’s actions may not be “based on 40-year-old facts having no logical relationship to the present day.”

“Our country has changed,” he wrote. “While any racial discrimination in voting is too much, Congress must ensure that the legislation it passes to remedy that problem speaks to current conditions.”

Ironically, Roe v. Wade turned 40 this year.

And in the decades since the decision was handed down, our medical knowledge — particularly that which is prenatal in nature — has changed. In fact, that knowledge has changed so much that much of what was regarded as “fact” 40 years ago has “no logical relationship to [prenatal knowledge in] the present day.”

For example, 40 years ago, many Americans were able to abide the legalization of abortion by thinking of the unborn child as a mass of DNA or a bundle of cells that felt no pain and lacked cognition.

Independence Day 2013: The Return of the Intolerable Acts

On this day in 1776, our founders signed the Declaration of Independence, an event that changed the course of human history. But 237 years later, it is easy for us to lose sight of what it cost the men who put their names to paper on that day.

They were Englishmen, loyal subjects of the crown. But they were also men who lived under the protection of English law, and as such, knew that even monarchs are obliged to follow the laws of Nature and Nature’s God.

And they knew that defying the authority of the world’s most powerful empire came with great risk . . . yet they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor for the cause of liberty.

In so doing, they chartered a creed that has been a beacon of hope the world over – for all who long for freedom.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident,” they said, “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

That to secure THESE Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their Just powers from the consent of the governed . . .”

But years before these immortal words were penned, those proud English subjects had endured abuses at the hands of a remote and despotic government.

By the time the British Parliament had passed the Stamp Act of 1765, the Quartering Act of 1766, and the Townsend Acts that took effect in January of 1767, the seeds of revolution had been sown. These were all, in effect, taxes levied upon the governed without their consent.

When the Tea Act precipitated the Boston Tea Party in 1773, the British Parliament responded with a series of new laws tabbed by Patriots in America as “The Intolerable Acts.”

As we all know, the one thing we learn from history – is that we don’t learn from history.

And so in 2013 we have a remote and increasingly tyrannical government cutting back room deals, passing bills they’ve never read, violating the Rights of citizens, and acting in wanton disregard for the will of the governed.

Now it is Congress who passes “Intolerable Acts.”

First there were Bailouts for Wall Street and those Banks that were “too big to fail.”

Massive transfers of American wealth – out of the hands of the hard-working citizens – to an elite group of unaccountable plutocrats.

Then there was another massive redistribution scheme masquerading as a “Stimulus package” for our ailing economy, followed by the federal take-over of our healthcare system.

Now Congress may be on the verge of passing yet another boondoggle, this time one that dismantles the integrity of our borders, and forces hard-working Americans to once again ante up for millions of foreigners who have invaded our borders in violation of the law.

What do all these Intolerable Acts have in common?

•They were all passed without the consent of the governed.
•They were all rushed through a harried process that didn’t allow for members of Congress to know what they were even voting on.
•And they all involved massive redistribution of OUR wealth – to corporate and special interests – who have essentially bought and paid for our elected leaders.

To be sure, Democrats in Washington are driving this agenda, led by a President whose hubris is unrivaled in the annuls of our history.

But the Republican Establishment has proven to be little more than a collaborative partner in the “fundamental transformation” of America. They are modern-day Tories in the struggle against a remote imperial government.

History tells us there is a progression: First comes public protest, then civil disobedience, followed by outright rebellion.

Freedom is innate. A government that disregards the lessons of history is one that is doomed to repeat them.

On this July 4th, we pray our leaders will seek the Wisdom that is from above, and right our course before “the last best hope of man on earth” is lost to us. There is no need for this great nation to repeat the mistakes of past.

It is time to rebuild the foundations – and so we offer a prayer that belongs to all of US*:

Our Fathers’ God, to Thee,
Author of Liberty…
Long may our land be bright,
With Freedom’s Holy Light,
Protect us by Thy Might,
Great God our King.

As we celebrate today with friends and family, may we acknowledge the Author of these Truths we still hold. And we know, the Truth will set us free!

While there is much that is wrong in America – there is still much that is right. So let us strengthen the things that remain, and work to rebuild the foundations.

And that begins today . . . in your community . . . with family and friends.

Obama’s Fundamental Transformation of a Nation He Despises

Obama’s only real competence, it seems, lies in spying on Americans and imposing new restrictions on their liberty. This fact may be the key to understanding this president. He has shown himself sympathetic toward every anti-American dictator on the planet, warmly embracing Hugo Chávez, lifting travel restrictions to Castro’s Cuba, and (when he thought no one could hear him) promising a cozy second term with President Putin.

Obama’s love affair with Marxist tyrants has not earned him any favors — not even the return of one globe-trotting traitor. The best he can do is issue a weak protest and direct his new secretary of state to remark that Hong Kong’s and Russia’s actions in regard to Snowden are really “disappointing.” That kind of swagger should make the Chinese and Russian leadership wet their britches.

For his part, Obama has done nothing, perhaps because he is still in thrall of anyone who calls himself a Marxist. The only people he really distrusts are Americans, especially those patriotic Tea Party members who care about their country’s future.

Ted Cruz: Obama’s Egypt Policy a ‘Stunning Diplomatic Failure’ (+video)

Photo Credit: APBy Brendan Bordelon. Texas Republican Sen.Ted Cruz blasted the Obama administration’s policy toward Egypt in a scathing op-ed in Foreign Policy magazine, slamming the president’s stance on the Muslim Brotherhood “one of the most stunning diplomatic failures in recent memory.”

As the Egyptian military ends President Mohamed Morsi’s rule, Cruz points out that the ire of many people in the streets of Cairo is not reserved for the Muslim Brotherhood alone.

“The people protesting in the streets were not only carrying anti-Morsi signs,” Cruz writes. “They were also carrying signs with slogans like ‘Obama Supports Terrorism’ and ‘Obama Supports Morsi,’ as well as pictures of the American ambassador to Egypt, Anne Patterson, with a large red ‘X’ through her face.”

Cruz believes that the 22 million Egyptians committed to ending Morsi’s rule are largely secular, pro-democratic people dismayed at the religious authoritarianism slowly strangling their country.

By throwing America’s weight behind Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, Cruz argues that President Obama has alienated potential allies in the region.

Egypt orders arrest of 300 Islamists: state media

By AFP. The Egyptian police have orders to arrest 300 leaders and members of Mohamed Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood after the army deposed the Islamist president on Wednesday, the website of the official Al-Ahram newspaper reported early Thursday.

A senior interior ministry official confirmed to AFP that arrest warrants have been issued for “Muslim Brotherhood members”, but provided no further details. Read more from this story HERE.

House Tea Party Defiance Will Kill Amnesty Bill

Photo Credit: APElites of both parties are united in support of Marco Rubio’s immigration bill. That sort of unity is remarkable in Washington, but not unheard of.

Here’s the unprecedented part: The elites are going to lose.

The Tea Party has cultivated in House Republicans such a distrust of the establishment and such a disregard for party unity that even when the issue isn’t a Tea Party issue — and immigration isn’t, really — the GOP rank and file have little interest in doing what they’re told.

…Republicans elected since 2010 simply do not feel they need to answer to K Street, the GOP leadership, or any party elites. Newer Republican members came to Washington without the help of business PACs, often running against K Street in primaries and general elections…

So, unlike the days when Bush, Armey and Delay dragged the GOP caucus around, the Republican rank and file today calls the tune for its leadership. Speaker John Boehner, no enemy of K Street, has declared Rubio’s bill DOA in the House.

More Tyranny in America: Judge Rules First Amendment Has No Authority

America has fallen off the cliff into the abyss of tyranny. The signs are numerous. From unconstitutional laws that directly contradict Second Amendment gun rights to a rogue federal agency that routinely spies on all citizens to Supreme Court judges who create law out of thin air, it has become abundantly clear that none of the liberties that are supposed to be protected by the Constitution are in fact being protected.

The primary purpose of the Constitution is to safeguard the rights of citizens from oppressive government and from the tyranny of majority rule. The fact that in the current Court system, and in Congress, and in the White House these safeguards no longer apply means that the Constitution has been rendered impotent, meaningless, and invalid.

The latest case in point is a California case in which a citizen is being tried in court on charges that state prosecutors say could land him in prison for 13 years. His crime? He engaged in propagating negative messages about the Bank of America.

The Bank of America, it is to be remembered, was one of the large financial institutions that received tax payer funded bailouts in order to stay afloat in 2008-09. According to financial expert and talk radio host Dave Ramsey, Bank of America is one of the most inept and poorly managed banks in the country, along with Morgan Chase, Citigroup, and Goldman Sachs.

As an individual citizen who is endowed with the unalienable right of free speech, California resident Jeff Olson began scrawling anti-megabank messages in water soluble chalk on sidewalks last year in San Diego. For this he was charged with vandalism.

College and Career Ready Standards: A Catch Phrase Intended to Goad the Public Into Believing a Lie

The goal behind College and Career Ready standards is to prepare children to be global citizens in the new global economy. Global citizenship implies a global community, known as a One World Order. To have citizens of One World, what will be the governing structure? Will it be a Democracy? A Republic? Communist? Socialist? Will the new global economy consist of Capitalism and the Free Market or will it be controlled by the One World government in terms of socialism and/or communism?

The United States is still the freest nation in the world. No other country, before or since, has stepped forth with a similar Constitution or governing structure grounded in the beliefs that individuals are both unique and important. While it would almost be fantastic if the global community adopted the same foundations as our own nation, we all subconsciously know that will NOT happen. The United States was founded as a Christian nation: grounded in Biblical principles. These principles alone are contrary to the majority of other country’s religions.

So what will the One World Order look like? It won’t resemble anything that American’s hold dear. Most likely, we will be subjects of a form of socialism or communism. The individual will be sacrificed for the good of the collective whole. Children of the Common Core, the College and Career Ready “standards,” will be pigeon-holed into the lines of work that the “state” determines from very young ages through data collection. The “state” will dictate a child’s education to promote what the “state” has determined to be that child’s career path. STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) careers will be reserved for those that the “state” determines are worthy to work in such fields: worthiness is determined through academic performance, ability to follow directions with no opposition, and ability to conform to current thoughts and ideas without questioning validity. The class system will be magnified.

The elite class that also has its hand in the governing structure will likely control the global economy. Forget about IRAs and 401-Ks because retirement is NOT an option in the global economy. With the eminent risks of doomsday events, there is no need for “retirement.” What will happen when you can no longer work to benefit the global society? Don’t worry – individuals are of no value; you can easily be replaced by the next college graduate.

I’m not merely creating a scary scenario in regards to the global community. Similar agendas are documented throughout history. The idea of the One World Order is nothing new, either. It is found in the writings of H.G. Wells. What most do not know is that his last book, Mind at the End of Its Tether (1945), he stated that the One World Order is optimistic humanism and it isn’t going to work!

John Dewey is considered the father of modern education; he was a Humanist and co-author of the Humanist Manifesto (1933). Dewey followed the teachings of German psychologist Wilhelm Wundt; both men viewed children as animals requiring guidance, control and molding. After he visited the Soviet Union, Dewey wrote six articles on the “wonders” of Soviet education. Dewey’s writings preclude and greatly influence College and Career Ready Standards. Both have the same objective.

“Our major concern that the school should provide a purified environment for the child
… this means stacking the cards in favor of the particular systems of value we possess. We must
move to make certain every Progressive School will use whatever power it may possess in
opposing and checking the forces of social conservatism.”

“Children who know how to think for themselves spoil the harmony of the collective
society which is coming, where everyone is interdependent.”

“You can’t make socialists out of individualists.”

School curricula have been altered to purport the ideas presented in the Humanist Manifesto. This continues today in the form of College and Career Ready Standards. Here is an abbreviated version of the Humanist Manifesto #1:

1. Man gradually emerged by chance from lower forms of life over millions of years.
2. Man creates god out of his own experiences.
3. Man is his own authority and is not accountable to any higher power.
4. There are no absolute rules to live by.
5. All men should be exposed to diverse ‘realistic’ viewpoints, including profanity, immorality, and
perversions as acceptable modes of self-expression.
6. All forms of sexual expression are acceptable.
7. Government ownership or control of the economy should replace private ownership of property
and the free market economy.
8. ‘Global Citizenship’ should replace national self-determination.
9. There is no hope of existence beyond the grave – no heaven or hell.

People and corporations such as Partnership for Assessing Readiness for College and Career (PARCC), Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC), Next Generation, Planned Parenthood, inBloom, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Weather Underground, Bill Ayers, Linda Darling Hammond, Tides Foundation, and UNESCO all have ties in one form or another to the proliferation of global citizens through education system control under the auspices of College and Career Ready standards.

Patriots, lovers of freedom, anyone who believes in and values America and our American way of life should be opposed to EVERY FACET of the College and Career Ready standards known as Common Core State Standards. It is high time that Americans come together to take back control of our educational system and re-instill the values that America has held dear for over 237 years. Our freedom and continuation as a great nation depend upon it.

The Sprawling, Dimming Age of Obama

In Barack Obama, America elected a chief executive whose Department of Justice has repeatedly targeted the press, whose Internal Revenue Service has gone gunning for conservatives, and whose government has elevated secrecy into a cardinal virtue. The Obama administration’s data grab is not just about national security, or Edward Snowden. It is also an epilogue befitting a candidate who delivered his 2008 convention acceptance speech in front of a temple façade dedicated to himself, and whose faith in government and the state is at the center of his presidency.

Under the Obama Rules, the unauthorized dissemination of non-classified government information is now “tantamount to aiding the enemies of the United States.” Think Nixonism without the sweaty five o’clock shadow; Cheneyism without the dyspepsia, armed with a jump shot instead of a shotgun.

Forget Obama’s paeans to civil liberties. The Age of Obama is a celebration of ever-growing and ever-more intrusive government, with mandated healthcare, crony capitalism, and First Family daytime and late-night television appearances as the modern iterations of bread and circuses.

On Tuesday, Obama environmental adviser Daniel Schrag announced to the world that “a war on coal is exactly what’s needed,” only hours before the president rolled out his environmental regulatory scheme that would have the EPA issue more regulations, while constraining development of the Keystone XL Pipeline — jobs be damned. Talk about timing! Just a day later, first quarter GDP growth was revised downward to 1.8 percent.

Having previously been rebuffed by Congress over a carbon tax, the President didn’t propose anything to Congress this time. He simply announced what his executive branch would do unilaterally.
