Lesbian Teacher Fired From Catholic School, Files Discrimination Complaint (+video)

Photo Credit: NCinDCA diocese in Ohio is under siege — receiving numerous threatening calls as well as heated online criticism — and a veteran teacher is out of a job because of publicly revealing a lesbian relationship in violation of the Catholic school’s morality code.

But the firing has raised a fervent debate over tolerance both online and in the Columbus, Ohio, community where the incident took place.

Physical education teacher Carla Hale, 57, was fired in March after her name appeared in her mother’s obituary, which also noted Hale’s longtime lesbian partner.

Hale was summoned to a meeting with school administrators after she returned from her mother’s funeral.

At the meeting, she received a copy of her mother’s obituary that she and her brother had written. In addition, administrators gave Hale an anonymous letter from a parent calling the presence of a lesbian teacher at the school disgrace.

Obama: Pass My Budget or Suffer More 'Pain' (+video)

First, Obama exploited the sequester’s effect on children, the elderly, and airline travelers:

“Because of these reckless cuts, there are parents whose kids just got kicked out of Head Start programs scrambling for a solution. There are seniors who depend on programs like Meals on Wheels to live independently looking for help. There are military communities – families that have already sacrificed enough – coping under new strains. All because of these cuts.”

“This week, the sequester hurt travelers, who were stuck for hours in airports and on planes, and rightly frustrated by it.”

And, there’s more pain on the horizon, Obama warned: “These cuts are scheduled to keep falling across other parts of the government that provide vital services for the American people.”

CPS Takes Baby by Force After Parents Seek Second Medical Opinion (+video)

A Sacramento couple is without their 5 month old baby after Child Protective Services sent in the police to forcibly remove the child from their care.

A hearing is scheduled for Monday, April 29, 2013 on the incident which was triggered when Anna Nikolayev and her husband Alex took baby Sammy out of Sutter Memorial Hospital and sought a second opinion at Kaiser Permanente, a rival hospital, for Sammy’s flu-like symptoms.

Anna and Alex were concerned about the quality of care baby Sammy was receiving at Sutter where he was admitted nearly two weeks ago. At one point, Anna questioned the antibiotics Sammy was being given and was alarmed that the nurse administering the treatment didn’t know why the child was receiving them. Anna claims that a doctor later said that Sammy should not have been receiving the medication.

When doctors began discussing the possibility of heart surgery, the parents decided to leave without a proper discharge in order to have the child examined elsewhere.

“If we got the one mistake after another, I don’t want to have my baby have surgery in the hospital where I don’t feel safe,” Anna said.

Gun Carrying Man Ends Stabbing Spree at Salt Lake Grocery Store (+video)

Photo Credit: Don HudsonA citizen with a gun stopped a knife wielding man as he began stabbing people Thursday evening at the downtown Salt Lake City Smith’s store.

Police say the suspect purchased a knife inside the store and then turned it into a weapon. Smith’s employee Dorothy Espinoza says, “He pulled it out and stood outside the Smiths in the foyer. And just started stabbing people and yelling you killed my people. You killed my people.”

Espinoza says, the knife wielding man seriously injured two people. “There is blood all over. One got stabbed in the stomach and got stabbed in the head and held his hands and got stabbed all over the arms.”

Then, before the suspect could find another victim – a citizen with a gun stopped the madness. “A guy pulled gun on him and told him to drop his weapon or he would shoot him. So, he dropped his weapon and the people from Smith’s grabbed him.”

The President of the United States Asks God to Bless an Abortion Factory (+video)

That a president of the United States shows up at an abortion factory, essentially, and praises their work. You know what else he said? He said the opponents of abortion want to return to the 1950s…

To Planned Parenthood, every abortion is good, every pregnancy is a potential disease, every pregnancy is the result of male domination. Every abortion equals female freedom and emancipation. Every abortion equals women saying, “Screw you.” Barack Obama, who, as a senator in Illinois, actively, maybe more than any other legislation, supported the idea that a baby surviving a botched abortion should go ahead and be killed, because that was the original intention of the mother. And when we’re talking about the original intention of abortion, we should always be loyal to it. Now, the original intention of the Constitution, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no. The Constitution’s a living, breathing document. The female body is not.

Holder: "Amnesty is a Civil Right" and Other Idiocy (+video)

Photo Credit: DonkeyHoteyAmnesty “is a matter of civil and human rights,” Eric Holder claims. If that’s the case, then amnesty opponents are a bunch of Bull Connors.

Holder stated in remarks in an April 24 speech to the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund MALDEF) Awards Gala that “creating a mechanism for [illegal aliens] to earn citizenship and move out of the shadows… is a matter of civil and human rights.”

Let’s just tear down the fence and hand out EBT cards at the border, and bring the American experiment to an end.

We used to celebrate Rosa Parks, an American citizen, for defying segregation and demanding equal treatment as an American citizen. Now, Holder drapes non-citizens in the mantle of civil rights, even though they are driving down American wages — especially those of low-skilled blacks.

Three members of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights recently wrote to the Congressional Black Caucus, warning that amnesty “will likely disproportionately harm lower-skilled African-Americans by making it more difficult for them to obtain employment and depressing their wages when they do obtain employment.”

Obama: ‘Planned Parenthood isn’t Going Anywhere’ (+video)

During a speech this morning at the Planned Parenthood gala, President Obama vowed he would never allow Republicans to cut taxpayer funds for the abortion provider.

“If there’s one thing the past few years have shown is that Planned Parenthood isn’t going anywhere,” Obama said as the crowd cheered. “It’s not going anywhere today, it’s not going anywhere tomorrow.”

Obama was wildly received by the audience when he entered the room – the first sitting president to address the nation’s largest abortion provider.

New Video Shows Egyptian Police Involved in Deadly Attack on Coptic Cathedral

Photo Credit: archer10 (Dennis)Newly-emerged video appears to show Egyptian police standing idly by – and even helping attackers during a deadly assault earlier this month on a Coptic cathedral where Christians were mourning five men killed in an earlier clash with Muslims.

The video shot April 7 and first obtained by MidEast Christian News, shows a men shooting guns, wielding machetes and hurling stones and possibly Molotov cocktails as mourners carry caskets out of St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in the Abbassia District of Cairo as uniformed police watch, unmoving. At one point, a police officer appears to help a gunman take aim at a courtyard full of mourners who had spilled out of the church. The attack left two Copts dead and another 84 people injured, including 11 police officers.

When it was over, the only arrests made were of four Copts. Christians, who were already outraged over a three-day attack that began April 4 attack in Khosous which saw the four men killed and homes, a nursery and a church burned, said the events show how elusive justice is for Christians, who make up about 10 percent of the nation’s population.

Bill Clinton Jokes About Having Bush Paint Him Naked

Bill Clinton joked on Thursday about wanting his fellow former president George W. Bush to paint him naked, now that he has become something of an amateur painter.

There were bursts of laughter as Clinton made the remarks about his counterpart’s hobby during a speech at the opening of the George W. Bush Library in Dallas…

He said that George W’s mother Barbara Bush had shown him some of his landscape and animal canvases and that he thought they were ‘great’.

Clinton then quipped: ‘I seriously considered calling and asking you to do a portrait of me until I saw the results of your sister’s hacked emails. ‘Those bathroom sketches are wonderful but at my age, I think I should keep my suit.’

He was referencing self-portraits found in hacked Bush family emails which appear to show paintings of the former president shaving in the shower and soaking in a bathtub.

In this video, Jan Crawford of CBS profiles Senator Cruz and examines his views on a variety of topics especially, immigration.

Ms. Crawford also asks Senator Cruz about Senator McCain calling him a “wackobird.” Sen. Cruz, a champion debater as an undergrad at Princeton, handles the question deftly.

More importantly, the new senator from Texas, son of Cuban immigrants, comes across as a genuine constitutionalist, unafraid of confronting the corrupt ruling class.

As a reformer, Senator Cruz is obviously raising the hackles of the establishment.
