CDC Warns of Deadly Bacteria With 50% Fatality Rate That Has Been Declared Endemic

A deadly bacteria with a roughly 50 percent fatality rate worldwide has made its way to the US Gulf Coast, where it has been declared endemic by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The CDC has confirmed three cases of infection from the bacteria Burkholderia pseudomallei, which can cause potentially lethal melioidosis if not treated.

“It is an environmental organism that lives naturally in the soil, and typically freshwater in certain areas around the world. Mostly in subtropical and tropical climates,” Julia Petras, an epidemic intelligence service officer with CDC’s National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases, told HealthDay News.

The most recent case was reported in Mississippi in January.

Disney Proves DeSantis’ Point by Going After Military Guests

“Disney was not accountable to anyone,” observed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in his announcement kicking off his presidential campaign. “You know, it’s human nature: If there’s no accountability over any individual or entity, of course they’re going to behave differently than if you have normal accountability.” The truth of DeSantis’ words is perfectly demonstrated by Disney’s recent treatment of guests at Shades of Green, a military-owned hotel at Walt Disney World. Disney’s actions say a lot about how a company — one that used to be notable for its patriotism in the days of Walt — now regards U.S. Armed Forces families and veterans.

The U.S. Army bought the Shades of Green hotel, then called the Disney Inn, from Disney in 1996. Guests of Shades of Green, the flagship military recreational property in the contiguous U.S., are military personnel, their families, and veterans. According to Steve Bell, who runs the main website for military visitors to Disney parks, the hotel is self-sustaining — it’s funded through guests’ payments for rooms and meals, not through annual appropriations.

As a property, Shades of Green’s primary allure is its close proximity to the original — and still most popular — section of Walt Disney World, the area including the Magic Kingdom and the monorail encircling Seven Seas Lagoon. Shades of Green enjoys a prime location just across the street from Disney’s Polynesian Resort. From the Polynesian, Shades of Green guests can easily ride the monorail to the Magic Kingdom, board the boats that travel across Seven Seas Lagoon, or take the path around the lagoon to the park’s entrance.

Now, abruptly, Disney has barred Shades of Green guests from walking off the hotel’s grounds and crossing the street to the Polynesian, thereby cutting off their pedestrian access to the monorail, the boats, and the Magic Kingdom itself. Why has Disney done this? Because it can.

The Reedy Creek Improvement District (RCID), the entity through which Disney has been granted largely unequaled powers of self-government — and which has been a focus of DeSantis’ fight with the corporation — approved funding for construction to widen the road between the Polynesian and Shades of Green. In light of this road project, Disney decided the existing crosswalk would no longer suffice for pedestrian traffic. But rather than building a bridge or putting in a stoplight, Disney decided it would simply ban Shades of Green guests from crossing that street, thereby shutting down pedestrian access from the hotel to the rest of Walt Disney World. This is access that had been available for 50 years, according to Bell, long before the Army bought the hotel 27 years ago. Four Dead in Crash That Led to Sonic Boom From F-16 Fighter Jets; Florida Businessman Says ‘Entire Family’ Was on Crashed Plane Behind D.C. Chaos

By New York Post. A sonic boom was heard across the Washington DC area Sunday afternoon when military jets raced after a private, unresponsive plane that crossed into restricted airspace and later crashed, killing all four people onboard.

The deafening boom rang out when two F-16 fighter jets were scrambled from Joint Base Andrews, in Maryland to investigate the aircraft that was flying, but not responding to radio transmissions shortly after 3 p.m., according to the Department of Defense. . .

The owner of the company where the plane was registered told the Times Sunday his daughter, 2-year-old granddaughter and their nanny, as well as the pilot, were on the doomed plane on their way back to their East Hampton home.

John Rumpel, of Encore Motors of Melbourne Inc, said they were returning to New York after visiting him in North Carolina. He told the newspaper he didn’t have much information but suggested the plane may have lost pressurization. . .

The sonic boom, which occurs after a vehicle breaks the sound barrier at 767 mph, could be heard throughout the capital, and cities in Maryland and northern Virginia, with many taking to Twitter to question the explosion that rattled their homes. Florida Businessman Says ‘Entire Family’ Was on Crashed Plane Behind D.C. Chaos

By The Daily Beast. A Florida businessman and prominent political donor identified himself as the owner of a Cessna passenger aircraft that sparked panic as it flew into restricted U.S. airspace over Washington, D.C. Sunday—before crashing into the Virginia wilderness, according to a report. . .

According to federal aviation records, the plane was registered to Encore Motors of Melbourne, a Florida-based company owned by John and Barbara Rumpel, though neither were on board at the time of the crash.

In a brief interview with The Washington Post, John Rumpel confirmed he was the owner of Encore and said his “entire family” was on the plane at the time, including his daughter, a grandchild and her nanny. . .

Both Barbara and her husband, prominent business people in Florida, have donated to a medley of Republican candidates for federal office over the past few years, including hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations to former President Donald Trump and his political organization, according to Federal Election Commission records viewed by The Daily Beast. Country Considering Killing 200,000 Cows to Fight Climate Change

Government officials in Ireland are considering a plan to kill 200,000 cows to combat climate change, according to reports.

There were multiple reports this week that the Irish government was contemplating a plan to cull 200,000 cows within three years to fight climate change. The Irish Mirror stated that “the cows would have to be ‘culled’ at a cost of €600,000 to taxpayers over the next three years to meet climate emissions targets.”

The possible plan was detailed in an internal Department of Agriculture document that was unearthed in a freedom of information request.

The Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association immediately railed against the reported plan to kill 200,000 cows.

Pat McCormack – the president of the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association – declared, “If there is to be a scheme, it needs to be a voluntary scheme. ‘Highly Credible’ Source Reveals Scandal Bigger Than Biden Bribery: FBI Election Interference

The confidential human source (CHS) behind the detailed allegations that then-Vice President Joe Biden agreed to accept money from a foreign national to affect policy decisions was reportedly “highly credible” and used by the FBI in multiple criminal investigations dating back to the Obama administration. Friday’s exclusive by Fox News provides further insight into Sen. Chuck Grassley’s focus on the FBI — as opposed to the Biden family — as the primary scandal in play.

“We aren’t interested in whether or not the accusations against [then]-Vice President Biden are accurate,” Grassley said during an interview last week discussing FBI Director Christopher Wray’s refusal to comply with the congressional subpoena issued for the FD-1023 form. That form, dated June 30, 2020, included detailed information from a CHS to the FBI regarding an agreement by now-President Biden to deliver preferred foreign policy positions for a $5 million payment.

After Grassley revealed he had already seen the FD-1023, Fox News’ Bill Hemmer queried: “How damning is this document to the sitting U.S. president?”

“I don’t know,” responded Grassley, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. He stressed that while “there’s accusations” in the FBI report, the congressional oversight committees’ concern is whether “the FBI does its job.” “That’s what we want to know,” he continued. . .

Yes, the CHS’s allegations offer more evidence of a Biden family pay-to-play scandal, and unraveling any criminal conduct by the Biden family remains important. President of This Country Signs Death Penalty Law for Homosexuals, Passed by Parliament 387-2

Uganda’s president, Yoweri Museveni, has signed into law the world’s harshest anti-LGBTQ+ bill, which allows the death penalty for homosexual acts. . .

US President Joe Biden decried the act as “shameful” and “tragic violation of universal human rights”. He said Washington was considering “sanctions and restriction of entry into the United States against anyone involved in serious human rights abuses” – a suggestion that Ugandan officials may face repercussions.

Early on Monday, the speaker of the Ugandan parliament, Anita Annet Among, released a statement on social media confirming Museveni had assented to the law first passed by MPs in March. It imposes the death penalty or life imprisonment for certain same-sex acts, up to 20 years in prison for “recruitment, promotion and funding” of same-sex “activities”, and anyone convicted of “attempted aggravated homosexuality” faces a 14-year sentence. . .

Among tweeted on Monday morning: “The president … has assented to the Anti-Homosexuality Act. As the parliament of Uganda, we have answered the cries of our people. We have legislated to protect the sanctity of [the] family.

Musk Changes Personal Twitter Bio To The Best Pronouns You’ll See All Month

Tech mogul Elon Musk changed the pronouns in his Twitter bio Sunday, following a controversy involving him on the site.

Musk, owner and outgoing CEO of Twitter, changed his pronouns to “handsome/brilliant.” The prominent inclusion of these pronouns in his bio section appears to poke fun at users who place pronouns such as she/her, he/him, they/them, etc. to signify their gender identity.

Musk found himself in hot water Thursday over allegations that Twitter censored the Daily Wire’s “What Is A Woman?” documentary. The media company’s co-founder and co-CEO Jeremy Boreing alleged Twitter reneged on their deal to widely stream the documentary over alleged misgendering of individuals who identify as transgender. Users then noted Twitter placed a notification under the documentary, signaling it would limit visibility and called the movie “hateful.” After significant backlash from prominent online conservatives, Musk responded that sharing and commenting on the documentary would be barred over its “sensitive content.” Ultimately, Musk reversed Twitter’s restricting actions, sharing the documentary on his personal Twitter feed Friday, reaching his 142 million followers at a minimum. This followed the Thursday departure of Twitter executive Ella Irwin, head of trust and safety since November 2022.

This State Is Offering Free College to Illegal Aliens

The blue state of Minnesota will now be offering illegal immigrants free college, which is being touted as a way to “provide historic investment for student support and our institutions.”

Axios reports the program, called the “North Star Promise,” is available to anyone who lives in the state, has graduated from a Minnesota high school, and lives in a household whose yearly income is below $80,000. In addition to free college, the state will also allow illegal immigrants the ability to obtain a driver’s license and access the health care plan afforded to low-income residents.

“We want to make sure that when we’re expanding opportunities for everybody, we’re doing it for all Minnesotans, regardless of background, regardless of their documentation status,” Senate Higher Education Chair Omar Fateh (DFL) told Axios.

Video shows Biden, 80, start to walk quickly off center stage when he trips and stumbles, tumbling to his knees and nearly ending up on all fours.

Personnel quickly picked him up before he hobbled behind a barrier.

According to the White House pool report, he seemed to trip “on a black sandbag on the stage” but appeared “to be ok and continued to stand until the ceremony ended a few minutes later.”

In February, Biden released a physical assessment that found he suffers from neuropathy in his feet and atrial fibrillation, among other ailments. What Happened at the Air Force Academy Commencement Raises More Concerns About Biden’s Age

Thursday’s fall wasn’t the first time Biden seemed to lose his footing while speaking on a stage, with another instance coming during his midterm campaign stumping on behalf of Democrat candidates.

‘I Will Not Yield’: Teen Handing Out Bibles Refuses to Back Down After Police Arrest Him (VIDEO)

Law enforcement officers in Alberta, Canada, reportedly arrested a teenager handing out Bibles after an altercation broke out between him, his supporters and a group of counter-protesters.

Josh Alexander, 16, tweeted Wednesday he “was handcuffed and put in a paddy wagon for offering students Bibles on a public sidewalk in Calgary.” He posted a video of the ordeal:

Ultimately, Alexander said, he was released but told if he returned he “would be arrested and charged.”

However, neither the altercation with pro-transgender hecklers nor his arrest by Calgary police dissuaded the teenager from sharing Scripture with those around him. He wrote that he continued giving away Bibles, adding, “I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ.”

In a follow-up tweet, Alexander wrote, “I will not yield to the pressure of the woke mob or corrupt state. We will continue to spread the truth in love.”
