By Townhall. Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla) is reportedly planning a long-awaited 2024 presidential announcement, as his staff prepares for the potential White House bid.

The Washington Post reported that two Republicans with knowledge of DeSantis’s 2024 plans, said that DeSantis is “laying a foundation for a national campaign” amid meetings and preliminary staffing moves.

The WaPo said that the possible future DeSantis 2024 campaign has “already identified multiple potential hires in early primary states such as New Hampshire and Iowa.”

The Republican also told the outlets that Phil Cox and Generra Peck, two key members of DeSantis’s 2022 re-election team, are involved in talks about 2024.

Trump Hits DeSantis: He’s a COVID Skeptic Phony

By Politico. . .[Trump] is on a collision course with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is widely expected to jump into the race.

On Saturday, Trump took his sharpest swings at DeSantis to date, accusing the governor of “trying to rewrite history” over his response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Trump said DeSantis, who has been openly skeptical about government efforts to vaccinate people against the virus, “promoted the vaccine as much as anyone.” He praised governors who did not close down their states, noting that DeSantis ordered the closure of beaches and business in some parts of the state.

“When I hear that he might [run] I think it’s very disloyal,” Trump said. . .

A bearded vegan steps into the frame and tells the audience the truck headed to the rendering plant will be stopped by him and his carrot-eating chums. He narrates that the truck is headed to the slaughterhouse “where 10,000 lives are taken daily,” just for the tastebuds of humans. Well, yeah.

As the truck makes its looping right turn, it does something that the vegans didn’t anticipate. It doesn’t stop and it doesn’t slow down. The video’s vegan narration is as glorious as it is hilarious.

It might be time to pull out some ground beef and have a burger while you watch. Enjoy.

Marine Corps Opens First New Base In Decades

The U.S. Marine Corps opened its first new base in 70 years Thursday on Guam, an island equidistant between Japan and Taiwan to allow American troops to act if China makes a move on Taiwan, according to media reports.

The 4,000 acre base, formally known as Camp Blaz, will house approximately 5,000 Marines and comes as the U.S. is seeking to reorganize troop presence in the Pacific to bolster deterrence against China, according to CNN. It will eventually serve as a training hub for Marines aiming to guard allies, critical sea lanes and Pacific islands in the event of a Chinese invasion, The Wall Street Journal reported.

“Forward, persistent presence is key to the regional security and stability in the Indo-Pacific,” Marine Corps Commandant Gen. David Berger said, according to a Corps press release.

“Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz is a critical part of that. More than that, it shows our undivided relationship with the government of Japan,” he added.

The U.S. and Japan agreed on Jan. 11 to restructure the Marine Corps force stationed in Okinawa, giving them more firepower and the ability to quickly respond as China readies for a potential offensive against Taiwan. A new strategy will arm the roughly 18,000 Marines deployed to Okinawa with missiles that can reach the Chinese mainland and increase their maneuverability if they are called upon to defend Taiwan. By Daily Wire. San Francisco law enforcement officials released body camera footage Friday from the October attack on Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) husband, Paul Pelosi.

A San Francisco judge ordered that the footage be made public after a coalition of news outlets filed a motion to release the footage on January 11.

The footage shows police knocking on the door of the home before either Pelosi or DePape opened it.

“What’s going on man?” an officer asks.

“Everything is good,” DePape responds as he wrestled for control of a hammer with Pelosi.

The Police Bodycam Footage of the Pelosi Home Invasion Is Out. Here’s What It Shows.

By Townhall. Okay, hammer time is here, as authorities have released the body cam footage relating to the Paul Pelosi home invasion last October. The bizarre home invasion led to a slew of conspiracy theories, some of which were insanely entertaining, about this attack and Mr. Pelosi’s relationship with the intruder.

The footage shows Mr. Pelosi opening the door, where he and the intruder, David DePape, were fighting over control of a hammer. Pelosi was struck and required brain surgery during this incident. First reports said were no signs of forced entry, though security cam footage from the Peosi home shows DePape smashing a window to enter the home. After months of lingering in the dark, multiple news organizations filed a lawsuit, demanding that all video and audio evidence relating to this incident be released. . .

Initially, it was also reported that DePape entered the residence wearing nothing but underwear and armed with a hammer, which added more palace intrigue since who could miss someone like this strolling through the neighborhood? As the video shows, that wasn’t the case, though Mr. Pelosi is shown pantless before he takes a massive blow.

Mr. Pelosi was able to make an emergency call, which is odd given this home invasion-hostage situation. The audio of the call has Mr. Pelosi wondering where the Capitol Police were, adding that DePape had gained entry into his home. During the call, DePape identifies himself as a “friend,” which Pelosi denies. He’s later commanded to terminate the call with the police.

Tucker Carlson Accuses ‘Flamboyantly Pure’ Pence of Collaborating With Feds to Nail Trump in Docs Case

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson has a different take on the reports involving former Vice President Mike Pence and the classified documents found at his Indiana home.

According to Mediaite, Carlson attacked the former vice president as he accused him of conspiring with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to bring down former President Donald Trump as his classified documents investigation continues.

The conservative primetime host made the remarks during his segment of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Tuesday, January 24. He opened the discussion by highlighting what he describes as “unexplained weirdness.” . . .

“So here’s the latest example of unexplained weirdness in the news,” Carlson opened the broadcast. “Mike Pence, of all people, has just swooped in to save Joe Biden. Yes, Mike Pence, a man so flamboyantly pure he won’t have dinner with ladies, not his wife. And yet Mike Pence also had secret documents in his house, just like Joe Biden!” . . .

“We can’t say for certain, but it’s entirely possible; in fact, it’s likely that Mike Pence was asked to do this by federal prosecutors who are trying to build a case against his old boss, Donald Trump,” Carlson explained. Lottery Winner Burns Through Nearly $50 Million Before Death

The winner of one of the largest EuroMIllions jackpots burned through most of his winnings before his death in 2019, new documents revealed.

Colin Weir from North Ayrshire, Scotland, won a record-breaking £161 million (roughly $257.6 million) in 2011, which still ranks as one of the largest jackpots handed out by the European lottery competition. Weir died in 2019 at the age of 71 from sepsis and “acute kidney injury,” but he had blown through most of his fortune by the time of his passing.

Weir’s initial £161 million winning, cut in half by his divorce to some £66 million (roughly $81 million) at the time, shrunk by a further £40 million (roughly $50 million) before his death, with the rest of his winnings going to his two children following a £1 million blowout for his family following his death.

One financial expert said Weir’s level of spending in eight years “takes a bit of doing,”according to Edinburgh Live.

Emails About Lacrosse-Playing Kids Link Hunter Biden, Wife of Disgraced Ex-FBI Agent Tied to Russian Oligarch

By New York Post. The wife of an ex-FBI agent arrested this week for allegedly helping a Russian oligarch has something in common with Hunter Biden — their lacrosse-playing daughters, data stored on the first son’s infamous laptop reveals.

Pamela McGonigal and Biden both received at least 29 emails related to the Next Level Lacrosse program and other activities associated with the sport from Oct. 7, 2014, to May 7, 2015, according to a search of the first son’s messages.

Two of Biden’s daughters with his first wife Kathleen Buhle — Finnegan and Maisy Biden — were midfielders on the varsity lacrosse team at the exclusive Sidwell Friends private school in Washington, DC, according to online records. . .

The emails connecting McGonigal and Hunter Biden through their daughters’ lacrosse activities were first reported by the right-wing Marco Polo USA research group.

Charles McGonigal — who’s accused of taking illegal payments from a Russian oligarch and a former Albanian spy — is also linked to Biden through the FBI’s investigation of Chi Ping Patrick Ho, who was arrested by agents at JFK Airport on Nov. 18, 2017. ‘Incredibly Suspicious’ Hunter Biden Email May Be Based on Classified Info: GOP Senator

By New York Post. A Hunter Biden email about Ukraine from 2014 looks ‘suspiciously’ like it could have come from classified information, a leading GOP senator has claimed.

Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said the April 12, 2014 message to one of the first son’s business partners resembles documents that the State Department gives members of the Senate when they travel overseas.

“It reads like one of those scene-setters — highly detailed information in terms of Ukraine,” Johnson told Fox News Tuesday.

The email from Hunter to Devon Archer includes a granular 22-point memo the Biden scion described as “thoughts after doing some research.”

Swalwell Makes Weird Threat After Speaker McCarthy Kicks Him off of Intel Committee (VIDEO)

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) complained on Wednesday to reporters a day after Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) removed him and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) from the House Intelligence Committee, saying McCarthy will regret making the decision.

McCarthy made it clear that due to Schiff’s and Swalwell’s past behavior, they are not qualified to sit on such a high-ranking committee. Swalwell said McCarthy’s statement has led to death threats.

“Even though we have said publicly, these smears are bringing death threats, he continues to do it, which makes us believe that there’s an intent behind it. But we will not be quiet. We’re not going away. I think he’ll regret giving all three of us more time on our hands,” Swalwell said. “But at the end of the day, our mission now is to restore the credibility and integrity of this institution, of which the Speaker has so gravely, so gravely smashed and destroyed.”

There’s Another Huge Bombshell in Kari Lake’s Election Lawsuit

In a court filing from last week, “Governor” Katie Hobbs (D-Ariz.) requested that Kari Lake’s election lawsuit be thrown out, claiming that Lake failed to prove that Arizona voters were disenfranchised in the 2022 elections.

“Despite seven witnesses, hundreds of declarants, and thousands of pages of exhibits, Lake failed to demonstrate any violations of Arizona law and offered no evidence that absent alleged violations the outcome of the election would have been different,” the filing reads.

But on Monday, Lake’s team indicated that more evidence is on the way, and this evidence could be game-changing. . .

The new information was presented to the Arizona Senate Elections Committee by Maricopa County Republican Committee (MCRC) Vice Chair Shelby Busch.

“We received just a few weeks ago, January of 2023, the system log files from the tabulators that were used in Maricopa County on Election Day, along with the redacted CVR records. Through an analysis, we were able to determine that a quarter of a million ballot feeds [were] misread by those tabulators,” Busch explained. “There are approximately two tabulators in every polling Center, which means there were 446 tabulators with a quarter of a million voter attempt failures.”

DEEP STATE HYPOCRISY: Top FBI Official Who Investigated Trump’s Ties to Russia Just Arrested for Taking Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars From Russians

By Washington Times. A former top FBI counterintelligence official who was involved in the Trump-Russia collusion investigation was arrested and charged with conspiring to violate U.S. sanctions on Russia, federal prosecutors announced Monday.

Charles McGonigal, who had been the special agent in charge of the FBI‘s counterintelligence division in New York, is accused of taking secret payments from Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska in exchange for investigating a rival oligarch, according to court documents.

Mr. McGonigal, 54, is one of the highest-ranking FBI officials ever charged with a crime. He faces one count of violating U.S. sanctions, one count of money laundering and two conspiracy counts.

Each of the four counts, which were filed in a New York federal court, carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Corey Lewandowski, former Trump campaign manager, said the indictment underscores the duplicity of the FBI.

“The depth of the corruption inside the FBI knows no bounds. They quite literally had the fox guarding the hen house as it relates to Donald J. Trump,” he told The Washington Times. “The chief ‘investigator’ of alleged ties between Trump and Russia turns out to have his own illegal ties to Russia. Ex-FBI Official Involved in Trump-Russia Probe Indicted for Working on Behalf of Sanctioned Russian Oligarch

By National Review. Charles McGonigal, a former FBI official involved in the investigation of Donald Trump’s ties to Russia, has been charged with violating sanctions and collaborating with Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, the Department of Justice announced Monday.

According to federal prosecutors, McGonigal received “concealed payments” from a Russian intelligence officer in exchange for his help in having sanctions targeting Deripaska lifted. McGonigal is being charged by the Federal District in Manhattan with additional counts relating to money laundering and conspiracy.

“Charles McGonigal, a former high-level FBI official, and Sergey Shestakov, a Court interpreter, violated U.S. sanctions by agreeing to provide services to Oleg Deripaska, a sanctioned Russian oligarch. They both previously worked with Deripaska to attempt to have his sanctions removed, and, as public servants, they should have known better,” U.S. Attorney Damian Williams wrote in a statement released Monday.

As chief of counterintelligence in the bureau’s New York City field office, McGonigal was among the first FBI officials to learn of the fateful conversation between a senior Trump campaign adviser and a foreign diplomat over the topic of Hillary Clinton’s emails, the Washington Free Beacon noted. Knowledge of that interaction proved crucial to the federal agency opening an investigation into the matter, which ultimately found there was no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
