Horrendous SCOTUS Ruling Deprives Average Citizens of Gun Rights for Minor Offenses

The Supreme Court has just issued what could become a landmark ruling against gun rights advocates.

The case, Stephen Voisine vs. The United States, “involves two plaintiffs who were convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence crimes and were subsequently denied their rights to own a firearm, although no one was seriously injured during the commission of the crimes. The case seeks to answer the question, what kind of domestic abuse does one have to be convicted of in order to have constitutionally protected gun rights taken away?” wrote Western Journalism in February.

According to the SCOTUS ruling, even texting while driving can fall under the crimes resulting in a person’s forfeiture of their rights to own a firearm.

The SCOTUS concluded individuals convicted of “reckless domestic assault,” a misdemeanor, can now have their gun rights revoked and receive a lifetime ban on ownership of firearms.

States like Connecticut have already passed laws banning individuals from gun ownership who have been convicted of one crime of domestic assault.

The ruling passed with a 6-2 vote, with Justice Elena Kagan writing the opinion of the court. “In sum, Congress’s definition of a ‘misdemeanor crime of violence’ contains no exclusion for convictions based on reckless behavior. A person who assaults another recklessly ‘use[s]’ force, no less than one who carries out that same action knowingly or intentionally.”

Justice Thomas offered the dissenting opinion. He argued that a person who texts while driving could “lose his right to bear arms forever if his wife or child suffers the slightest injury from the crash.”

Thomas wrote, “And while it may be true that such incidents are rarely prosecuted, this decision leaves the right to keep and bear arms up to the discretion of federal, state and local prosecutors.”

Those who may have recently been convicted of the crime, or received a conviction years, or even decades ago, may now be in jeopardy of losing their right to own a weapon, and conceivably, having their weapons confiscated. 2016 Presidential Candidate Found Dead at Cleveland Motel

A “fearless advocate for liberty” who sought the Libertarian Party’s nomination for president has been found dead.

Dr. Marc A. Feldman, 56, of Cleveland, was found dead Wednesday at the Americas Best Value Inn near the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. No official cause of death has been released.

Feldman lost the Libertarian nomination in May to former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson.

“How do you make a miracle happen?” he said once. “Start by asking for what you want, and see what you get. Sometimes you’re not given what you ask for, you’re given what you need.” He called himself the “No fear” candidate.

At the Libertarian convention, he rapped his concluding statement.

“I’m that be what you want to be Libertarian,” he began. “That Muslim Libertarian, that Jew Libertarian, the Christian, Atheist, Hin-DU Libertarian.”

“We will miss his dedication as a member of the national committee and candidate for public office, but most of all, I will miss a good friend. He was a delightful, spirited, and dedicated Libertarian who inspired and won the hearts of many. Our deepest condolences to his family on their loss,” said Nicholas Sarwark, chairman of the party’s national committee.

“Dr. Feldman was truly a beacon of unity and empowerment within the party. His campaign website was www.votesnotforsale.com – during his campaign he refused to accept supporting donations higher than $5. His campaign slogan was ‘Empower Yourself,’ and focused on encouraging individuals to achieve greater power and control over their own lives,” Avens O’Brien wrote on The Libertarian Republic. Where the Hell Is the Orlando Jihadist’s Missing Wife?

Am I the only one bothered by the fact that the Orlando jihadist’s wife is a missing, AWOL, gone girl?

Where the hell is Noor Salman? Can we hold a sit-in at the FBI until someone finds her?

The keystone cops in Washington admit they lost track of her last week. So what are they doing to hunt her down? Playing Marco Polo in the pool with their eyes closed?

How crazy is this? In America in 2016 you can real-time track your dog, your kid, your iPhone, your luggage, and your Uber driver around the corner.

But the people in charge of homeland security are losing a dangerous game of Ji-hide-y and Seek with the devout Muslim Palestinian woman who chauffeured her radicalized Orlando jihadist husband around as he scoped out massacre locations and shopped for weapons.

Does FBI stand for fumbling, bumbling idiots? Get your shizzle together, please! (For more from the author of “Where the Hell Is the Orlando Jihadist’s Missing Wife?” please click HERE)

Trump Makes Promise to the British After They ‘Declared Their Independence’

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Friday applauded Britain’s vote to leave the European Union and vowed to work closely with the United Kingdom in the future.

“The people of the United Kingdom have exercised the sacred right of all free peoples,” Trump said in a statement posted on Facebook. “They have declared their independence from the European Union and have voted to reassert control over their own politics, borders and economy.”

“A Trump Administration pledges to strengthen our ties with a free and independent Britain, deepening our bonds in commerce, culture and mutual defense. The whole world is more peaceful and stable when our two countries – and our two peoples – are united together, as they will be under a Trump Administration,” Trump’s statement said.

“Come November, the American people will have the chance to re-declare their independence. Americans will have a chance to vote for trade, immigration and foreign policies that put our citizens first. They will have the chance to reject today’s rule by the global elite, and to embrace real change that delivers a government of, by and for the people. I hope America is watching, it will soon be time to believe in America again,” Trump’s statement said.

On Twitter, Trump issued three tweets about the vote.

Trump, who was in Scotland Friday for the reopening of his Turnberry golf resort, called Britain’s vote to leave the European Union “a great thing.” He added, “People are angry, all over the world, they’re angry. They’re angry over borders, they’re angry over people coming into the country and taking over. Nobody even knows who they are. They’re angry about many, many things.”

Dr. James Dobson: Donald Trump Has Accepted Christ

Donald Trump, according to a new report, has accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

No, you didn’t accidentally click on The Onion. That’s a factual statement, according to a well-respected evangelical faith leader.

Dr. James Dobson, who was among the more than 900 evangelical faith leaders who met with the Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting in New York City, says it happened fairly recently. He also said he knew who led the businessman to Christ.

“I don’t know when it was, but it has not been long,” Dobson told Godfactor’s Michael Anthony in an exclusive interview. “I believe he really made a commitment, but he’s a baby Christian. We all need to be praying for him, especially if there’s a possibility of him being our next chief executive officer.”

“I think that he’s open,” he added. “He doesn’t know our language, he really doesn’t, and he refers a lot to religion and not much to faith and belief.” (Read more from “Dr. James Dobson: Donald Trump Has Accepted Christ” HERE)

LEVIN: ‘America’s Constitutional System Is Hanging by a Thread’

President Obama: “Our founders conceived of this country as a refuge for the world.”

No they didn’t. They didn’t conceive of the … who said it’s a refuge for the … who said that? They conceived of the nation. So they conceived the nation so it would be a refuge for the world. Who says? They conceived a Republic, where the people would have a say!

President Obama: “More than two centuries, welcoming wave after wave of immigrants has kept us youthful.”

No. It didn’t work that way. It wasn’t just wave of wave of people who wanted to come in. Now, if you’ve listened to this program you know the history.

We had waves at some point, and we also had long periods, like the 1930s to 1970s, where there weren’t waves, where there were periods of assimilation. But at all times prior to 1965, prior to the Great Society – which wasn’t so great – at all times the number one principle, the priority, was what’s in the best interest of the nation and the American people.

We didn’t have this obsession of waves and waves of immigrants coming to the country, changing the culture, changing the demographics, doing this, doing that. That wasn’t the drive behind immigration. Can anybody name a single Founder of this country who said otherwise?

And why is Obama citing them anyway? Some of them were slaveholders. I thought he hated them.

President Obama: “And dynamic, and entrepreneurial. It has shaped our character, and it has made us stronger.”

Some have made us stronger. Some have made us weaker.

President Obama: “I know a lot of people are going to be disappointed today, but it is important to understand what today means.”

I’m disappointed. What today means is separation of powers is hanging by a thread. That is, our constitutional system is hanging by a thread, and the greatest fear that the Framers had: this concentrated power in a centralized government is here. You’re staring at it.

President Obama: “We prioritize criminals. We prioritize gangbangers. We prioritize folks who have just come in.”

Oh he’s talking about immigrants. I thought he was talking about the illegal immigrants who he releases into society, that they prioritize criminals, gangbangers and so forth. Ask any local police department about MS-13 problems. Ask them! Just ask them.

He acts like everybody comes in hear picking lettuce and cleaning our homes. That’s not the way it works.

President Obama: “Millions of people who have come forward, and worked to get right with the law under this policy – they’ve been living here for years too, in some cases even decades. So leaving the broken system … .”

Whoa. Whoa. Whoa… So they have been defying the law for decades? And notice how he doesn’t differentiate, people who come here and violate their visa status, and others. Are all those people who come here on student visas, and teaching visas and entertainment visas and business visas – are they all picking lettuce? Are they picking lettuce, Mr. Producer?

How about all those Syrian refugees he wants to bring in? Are they going to be picking carrots? What are they going to be doing? How do they know they love America?

Is that part of the test when they come into this country: ‘Do you love America?’

President Obama: “That’s not a solution. In fact, that’s the real amnesty: pretending we can deport 11 million people, or build a wall without spending tens of billions of dollars in taxpayer money is abetting, what, really, just factually incorrect.”

“Factually incorrect?” You know, ladies and gentlemen, there is a law on the books – I believe it was passed in 2006 – where Congress said that they were going to build a wall and double fences and do all kinds of stuff with another 700 miles of that southern border, and they won’t do it.

Here’s my question: If Barack Obama won’t follow the law, if the bureaucracy won’t follow the law, if Congress won’t follow the Constitution and it keeps surrendering its powers, if the Supreme Court won’t follow the law and the Constitution, why should the rest of us?

If they don’t follow the law, why the hell should we? (For more from the author of “LEVIN: ‘America’s Constitutional System Is Hanging by a Thread'” please click HERE)

LET (BRITISH) FREEDOM RING: UK Gives Middle Finger to the Elites, Exits European Union

By BBC. Prime Minister David Cameron is to step down by October after the UK voted to leave the European Union.

Speaking outside 10 Downing Street, he said he would attempt to “steady the ship” over the coming weeks and months but that “fresh leadership” was needed.

The PM had urged the country to vote Remain but was defeated by 52% to 48% despite London, Scotland and Northern Ireland backing staying in.

UKIP leader Nigel Farage hailed it as the UK’s “independence day”.

The pound fell to its lowest level against the dollar since 1985 as the markets reacted to the results. (Read more from “Let (British) Freedom Ring: UK Gives Middle Finger to the Elites, Exits European Union” HERE)

Brexit Upends Global Markets as Stocks, Pound Plunge; Yen Soars

By James Regan and Stephen Kirkland. Global markets buckled as Britain’s vote to leave the European Union drove the pound to the lowest in more than 30 years and European banks to their steepest losses on record.

“It’s scary, and I’ve never seen anything like it,” said James Butterfill, 41, head of research and investments at ETF Securities in London. “A lot of people were caught out, and many investors will lose a lot of money.”

Sterling slid by the most on record and European stocks headed for the biggest drop since 2008 as trading soared. The yen strengthened past 100 per dollar for the first time since 2013, gold rose the most in more than seven years and benchmark Treasury yields had their biggest drop since 2009.

The victory for the “Leave” campaign prompted Prime Minister David Cameron to resign. The outcome stunned many investors who’d put wagers on riskier assets over the past week as bookmakers’ odds suggested the chance of a so-called Brexit was less than one in four. Britain Has Voted to Leave the EU – What Happens Next?

By Patrick Wintour. The UK’s historic decision to end its 43-year love-hate relationship with the European Union represents a turning point in British history to rank alongside the two world wars of the 20th century.

On the assumption there is no turning back, or collective buyer’s remorse, Britain will live with the political, constitutional, diplomatic and economic consequences for a decade or more . . .

So what happens next? . . .

The scale of the destruction wrought by independence day is such that one of the last redoubts of the establishment left standing – the civil service led by the cabinet secretary Sir Jeremy Heywood – will now take centre stage.

It will be his task, in conjunction with the governor of the Bank of England, Mark Carney, and David Cameron acting as a caretaker prime minister to bring a semblance of shape to the chaos that is likely to ensue. Senator Reportedly Trump’s Top Choice for Vice President

Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions is reportedly GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s top choice for a running mate, with less than a month to go until the Republican National Convention.

Newsmax’s John Gizzi reported that sources close to the candidate say that Sessions is getting top billing at the moment.

“The square Sessions seems to fit many square holes for Trump: he’s conservative and nails down the party’s right flank, he endorsed Trump early and has been extremely loyal, he has Washington legislative experience — a key requirement — and importantly, he can be totally trusted never to criticize Trump no matter what he might say in the coming months,” writes Gizzi.

“The selection will reassure conservatives,” said G. Terry Madonna, a Franklin & Marshall College professor and a top pollster in the swing state of Pennsylvania. “Sessions is one of the more conservative senators — that should be reassuring to economic conservatives and the religious right.”

Sessions scores 80 percent on the Heritage Action scorecard, well above the Republican average of 58 percent. Further, he hits over 94 percent in the lifetime rating for the American Conservative Union (the sponsor of CPAC).

The Alabama senator’s top issues have been fighting illegal immigration, Obamacare and abortion.

As reported by Western Journalism, Trump listed political experience on Capitol Hill as one of the top qualifications he is seeking in a running mate. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is another name that has been bandied about as fitting that criteria and being supportive of Trump’s candidacy.

A Trump/Sessions ticket or a Trump/Gingrich ticket would be the oldest ever to seek the Oval Office. Trump just turned 70 earlier this month, while Sessions is 69 and Gingrich is 73. Ronald Reagan was the oldest to win the presidency in 1980 at the age of 69, until he ran again in 1984 at 73 years old. Reagan’s running mate, George H.W. Bush, was 56 in 1980.

According to Gizzi, nothing is concrete at this time with Trump likely planning to hold off making the announcement until the convention, which begins on July 18. In addition to Sessions and Gingrich, former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin and former Defense Intelligence Agency Director Michael Flynn also reportedly make the short list.

Sens. Tim Scott, R-S.C., and Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, are two others who have been mentioned as a possible Trump running mate. (For more from the author of “Senator Reportedly Trump’s Top Choice for Vice President” please click HERE)

POLL: Clinton Outpaces Trump in This Historically Republican State

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton outpaced Republican front-runner Donald Trump in an Arizona poll published Wednesday. Over 46 percent of likely voters living in Arizona support the Democratic presumptive nominee, according to an OH Insights poll, which surveyed 1,060 likely voters across the state. If the general election were held today, Clinton would break a 64-year-old Republican Party win record in the state.

Conversely, 42.2 percent of voters support Trump, while the remainder polled support a third-party candidate.

Support for each candidate varied widely based on region. Mostly rural areas leaned towards Trump, while the densely populated Pima county, gave Clinton a 17-point lead over the business mogul.

Women in Arizona also favored Clinton over Trump, giving the former secretary a 12-point lead when that demographic was polled.

Clinton managed to earn 82.3 percent support from Democrats, while Trump earned 78.2 percent of Republican support.

Clinton’s recent poll numbers of 46.5 percent support is statistically consistent with the past numbers of completely different candidates — negative perceptions like “establishment” beliefs minimally affect voter attitudes in Arizona.

“Every statewide office in Arizona is held by a Republican, with a significant majority in the state House and Senate…. Arizona should be a reliably red state,” Wes Gullett, GOP consultant stated about the poll results.

The only other time Arizona went blue was in 1996, when it voted 44 percent for Republican Candidate Bob Dole, and 46.5 percent for former President Bill Clinton. (For more from the author of “POLL: Clinton Outpaces Trump in This Historically Republican State” please click HERE)

FBI ‘Revolt of Watergate Proportions’ If Hillary Skates

A former U.S. attorney says there is no doubt that, before the November election, the FBI will recommend to Attorney General Loretta Lynch that she prosecute Hillary Clinton for mishandling of classified information, warning that intervention by the White House would provoke a revolt of Watergate proportions.

In an interview with WND, Joseph diGenova said that based “on all the available evidence, including what is publicly known and what is known in the law enforcement community, there is sufficient, credible evidence needed to meet the predicate to begin a grand jury – sufficient evidence for probable cause to believe various crimes have been committed.”

“There is simply no doubt that the FBI is going to recommend a series of charges to Attorney General Lynch,” he insisted.

DiGenova said he has been speaking with former FBI, Secret Service and intelligence people about the case.

“Based on the information they have secured from their brothers and sisters in the law enforcement community, there is unanimity on the fact that charges are going to be recommended by the FBI,” he said. (Read more from “FBI ‘Revolt of Watergate Proportions’ If Hillary Skates” please click HERE)
