Romney Supporters Coming Out of Their Hollywood Closets: Today, Scott Baio & Piers Morgan

By Erin O’Sullivan. Chalk one up for Mitt Romney – he’s got former “Happy Days” star Scott Baio’s vote.

The actor, now starring in Nick at Nite’s new comedy, “See Dad Run,” stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Friday where he explained why he supports the Republican Presidential nominee.

“I believe in Governor Romney for a lot of different reasons. I’ve met him many times and he’s a straight up guy, he’s a good guy, great family man [and] his kids are fantastic,” Scott told Kit Hoover and Billy Bush. “I think we need to be fixed in this country.”

Scott said being a Republican in typically-left-leaning Hollywood can be intimidating and he feels for actress Stacey Dash, who recently faced a barrage of mean-spirited comments after revealing she’s voting for Romney.

“I don’t think anybody should bash anybody for what they believe. I have my beliefs, you have yours,” he said. “Just leave her alone, let her say what she wants to say. Freedom of speech.” Read more from this story HERE.

Piers Morgan Calls Romney the Least Principled Politician He’s Met, but He’s Endorsing Him

By Piers Morgan. An extraordinary political earthquake struck America this week. Mitt Romney, widely assumed to be the ‘best of a weak bunch’ of Republican candidates, suddenly overtook Barack Obama in election polls.

Remarkably for someone with a reputation as Mr Dullard, it was his brilliant performance on October 3 at the first of three presidential debates, where he scored the biggest win ever over an oddly downcast Obama, that propelled him into the favourite’s chair.

Should Romney now win on November 6, America will not only have replaced its first black President with its first Mormon President.

It will also have elected the squeakiest-clean man ever to run for the presidency in any country in the world.

Imagine for a moment an interview with a British politician that went as follows:
Q:  Have you ever drunk alcohol?
A:  No.
Q:  Have you ever taken drugs?
A:  No.
Q:  Have you ever had an affair?
A:  No.
Q:  Have you ever smoked a cigarette?
A:  No.
Q:  Do you ever use swear words?
A:  No.

The Undecided: Interview With Black Catholic Woman, Changing Mind on Obama (+video)

[Mary] Roberts straddles several demographic categories the campaigns want to win over: She is a practicing Catholic — and since 1972, no president has won office without taking the nation’s Catholic vote. She is over 65 — and seniors vote with greater regularity than any other age group. She is African-American — and while African-Americans came out in record numbers to vote for Barack Obama in the last election, some experts question whether they will turn out again in the numbers the president needs to win.

Roberts has always been an Independent. She says she votes the person, not the party.

The moderate views of Republican hopeful Mitt Romney resonate with her. She thinks his business experience could better guide the economy. But lately, she has seen ads saying Romney’s company, Bain Capital, sent jobs overseas. “That makes me nervous.”

She says she’s also bothered by the way conservatives often talk about the poor: as if they deserve to be just that. She doesn’t buy the assertion that the government should stay out of people’s lives, at least financially. Or that unfettered competition between corporations will allow Americans who work hard enough to share in this country’s riches.

Roberts voted for Obama in 2008. She admired his fearless rhetoric about change. Today, she’s torn. She says his actions haven’t been bold enough. “I hurt because I’m on the fence about him, just hurt.” Read more from this story HERE.

Rapper Shyne & Lindsay Lohan Both drop Obama, Endorse Romney

Rapper Shyne Endorses Romney, Blames Obama for His Problems

By Daily Mail Reporter. Blaming President Barack Obama for his legal troubles, rapper Shyne says he would vote for Mitt Romney in November.

Unfortunately, Shyne can’t legally vote.

The Belize-born MC is a convicted felon who was deported in 2009 after being released from prison following a 9-year sentence for his part in a 1999 Club New York shooting.

Shyne blames Obama for not helping him return to the U.S.

The two have a mutual acquaintance, Harvard professor Charles J. Ogletree.

Calling the president ‘corny,’ Shyne told MTV News that Obama should have used Ogletree to reach out to him.

‘He knows who I am, he knows what’s happenin’,’ Shyne said of Obama. ‘He’s always talkin’ about he listens to hip-hop and his daughter listens to hip-hop. He knows who Shyne is, he knows I’m deported.’ Read more from this story HERE.

Lindsay Lohan Ends Long-Time Support for Obama, Goes for Romney

By Hugo Gye. Mitt Romney has picked up hundreds of thousands of new supporters across the country since his commanding performance in last week’s debate against Barack Obama.

But he may not be delighted with one of his more notorious new fans – troubled actress Lindsay Lohan.

The star is a longtime Obama supporter, but announced at a Hollywood launch party yesterday that she was switching her endorsement to the Republican candidate.

Before the 2008 election, Lohan repeatedly encouraged her fans to vote for Obama and criticised GOP vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

But now it seems she has changed her tune – and she blames consistently high unemployment for the U-turn. Read more from this story HERE.

Joe Biden & The Nation Lost Thursday’s Debate on All Counts

Last night at the Vice Presidential debate in Kentucky, the nation got to witness the last vestiges of dignity get stripped away from the office of Vice President. This administration’s all out quest to remain in power saw truth and dignity sacrificed for that goal.

Joe Biden’s conjured up inner outrage lead to a spectacle on stage never duplicated in past debates of this magnitude. Smiling bizarrely while the conversation centered on our soldiers being killed in Afghanistan, Biden even laughed out loud ( insanely?) while the conversation shifted to the possibility of a nuclear armed Iran. Joe was seen by many as a deranged and cranky old man last night.

But one positive aspect for “green energy” emerged. Many folks in the alternative energy business thought Joes expensive teeth could be a new found source to power solar panels, as he flashed them constantly and inappropriately last night.

The only ones who seem to roar with approval are the far left, who were looking for blood after Mitt Romney dismantled President Obama in last weeks debate. But Romney, unlike Biden, did his work without rudely and thuggishly butting in while the President was talking.

Instead of battling Paul Ryan using ideas and truth, Biden was like Stephen King’s Pennywise the clown armed with a crude club. Biden interrupted Ryan in mid sentence 82 times and even butted into the moderator mid sentence several times for good measure.

Biden was able to get away with many complete and false statements yesterday with the aid of the moderator, who cut off Ryan’s responses before he could rebut a Biden falsehood….. Of course Joes own thuggish behavior made it difficult to complete a thought.

What is left today is a bucket full of fact checks that show Joe had an utter disregard for the truth, ranging from the Libyan embassy scandal to Medicare, to Iran and our relations with Israel.

Today many women were expressing their disappointment in the Vice Presidents demeanor last night. To them he appeared to be a bully, especially when he pointed his finger at the moderator and lectured her. Some women said Biden reminded them of ex boyfriends who wouldn’t take no for an answer. Or more ominously, the type of overbearing man they would fear to work around.

The left was cheered by this spectacle and feel vindicated, however we are quickly losing the ability to have an honest debate in this country, if last night is an example of our present discourse.

At this rate, we will be choosing candidates for their gladiatorial skills, rather than their oratorical skills.

Ron Paul Refuses to Endorse Romney

Texas Republican congressman Ron Paul pointedly refused to endorse his party’s presidential contender, Mitt Romney, arguing that neither he nor President Barack Obama would make necessary cuts to public spending that would avert a fiscal catastrophe.

“No,” the iconoclastic Libertarian bluntly told CNBC’s “Futures Now,” when asked about whether he was prepared to endorse Romney. He accused both the former Massachusetts governor and the president of being captive to similar interests.

“Both within the establishment where they need the Federal Reserve as lender of last resort to make sure that you take all the risk in the world,” Paul said. He linked the Fed — his favorite foil — and the Washington political establishment together as part of a “one party system” that refuses to make necessary but difficult choices to cut spending. (Read more: Ron Paul Vows to Continue Campaign Against Status Quo.)

“I’ve been in this business a long time and believe me there is essentially no difference from one administration to another no matter what the platforms,” said Paul, a former hopeful for the GOP nomination. “The foreign policy stays the same, the monetary policy stays the same, there’s no proposal for any real cuts and both parties support it.”

Obama Continues to Rollout Pathetic Excuses for Debate Performance

Given the continued fall-out from the one-sided debate that Obama fantasized he won, the administration rolled out another series of excuses.

The Washington Examiner reported that Obama’s spokesperson, Jen Psaki, contended Americans are just too dumb to comprehend Obama’s “substantive” and lengthy answers:

[W]hat the American [people] are looking for is not just a professorial list of facts or accomplishments or even goals,” Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki said yesterday as part of her ongoing, almost-comical attempt to lower expectations going into the debates. She then lamented that Obama “has a tendency to give longer, substantive answers.

Obama himself joined in the excuses. On the Tom Joyner Morning Show yesterday, the President said he didn’t do well because he was just too polite:

I think it’s fair to say I was just too polite, because, you know, it’s hard to sometimes just keep on saying and what you’re saying isn’t true. It gets repetitive. But, you know, the good news is, is that’s just the first one.

Obama then threatened “more activity” in the next debate.

Here’s the audio:

Americans are growing tired of the continued Obama excuses, whether they be about the terrible state of the US economy, the Libyan fiasco, or even his debate performance. Perhaps that’s why Obama has slidden so rapidly in the polls and is now losing in Florida and is poised to fail in Pennsylvania as well as other swing states.

Video: From One Deluded Debater to Another, “Joe Should Just be Joe”

By Toby Harnden. When President Barack Obama stepped off the stage in Denver last week the 60 million Americans watching the debate against Mitt Romney already knew it had been a disaster for him.

But what nobody knew, until now, was that Obama believed he had actually won.

In an extraordinary insight into the events leading up to the 90 minute showdown which changed the face of the election, a Democrat close to the Obama campaign today reveals that the President also did not take his debate preparation seriously, ignored the advice of senior aides and ignored one-liners that had been prepared to wound Romney.

The Democrat said that Obama’s inner circle was dismayed at the ‘disaster’ and that he believed the central problem was that the President was so disdainful of Romney that he didn’t believe he needed to engage with him.

‘President Obama made it clear he wanted to be doing anything else – anything – but debate prep,’ the Democrat said. ‘He kept breaking off whenever he got the opportunity and never really focused on the event. Read more from this story HERE.

Now, in a turn of good luck for Paul Ryan, the infamous debater offers his “expert” opinion to Biden:

Video: Stacey Dash Responds to Vile Twitter Critics, Saying She Picked Romney for Character, Not Color

Actress Stacey Dash defended her support for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney after she received a barrage of Twitter attacks for her decision.

She said in a televised interview Tuesday night that she had since spoken with vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan and he had high praise for the Clueless star.

‘He said thank you so much for your support, and that I was brave and that they support me and I thought that was so generous and kind, lovely,’ Ms Dash told CNN’s Piers Morgan.

Ryan’s supportive call comes after he faced racial criticism himself as a young man when he dated an African American woman in college.

Ms Dash’s public appearance Tuesday was two days after the actress tweeted her support for the former Massachusetts governor on Sunday but soon a series of vitriolic messages with racial slurs were sent her way, slamming Dash for her political views. Read more from this story HERE.

Video: Polling Group Now Considers Florida, North Carolina and Virginia Safe for Romney, Leaving States

In an amazing turn of events, Suffolk Polling is no longer polling Florida, North Carolina, or Virginia because they are now considered safe states for Romney.

This was confirmed during a Bill O’Reilly interview with the director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center yeseterday:

This is yet another revelation this week that the polls are turning against Obama.

In another story this week, both Michigan and Pennsylvania were moved from Obama safe states to being in swing.

Michigan, Pennsylvania Move from Obama-Safe States to Swing States

In some of the first state level polls conducted since last Wednesday’s presidential debate, Michigan and Pennsylvania have moved from lean-Obama states to swing states. The Romney campaign had previously pulled their advertising from those states to concentrate on other states.

A Susquehanna Polling and Research poll of 725 likely Pennsylvania voters conducted Oct. 4-6 shows Obama’s lead down to only two percentage points (47 to 45 percent), which is within the plus or minus 3.7 percentage point margin of error. Four percent of those polled said they were undecided. When they were asked who they were leaning toward, they favored Romney three to one. Factoring this in, Obama’s lead is only one percentage point.

In Michigan, two new polls also show a tight race. A poll of 1,122 respondents conducted Oct. 5 by Foster McCollum White & Associates showed a 3 percentage point advantage for Obama (49 to 46 percent with a 2.93 percent margin of error. The poll did not screen for registered or likely voters.) An Oct. 5-7 poll of 600 likely Michigan voters conducted by EPIC-MRA had similar results. Obama leads by only three percentage points (48 to 45 percent), with a plus or minus four percentage point margin of error.

While Obama still shows a lead in those states and shows an advantage in the electoral college vote, the results could be important if subsequent polls show similar results. It would mean that the Obama campaign might have to spend resources which would otherwise be spent elsewhere to hold on to those states. Also, it would provide Romney a greater range of possibilities to achieve the 270 electoral college votes needed to clinch the presidency.

Early in the race the Romney campaign appeared to want to compete for Michigan and Pennsylvania. Romney campaigned and ran television ads in both states. Romney was raised in Michigan and his father, George Romney, served as governor there. After continued poor showings in the polls, though, his campaign appeared to give up on those states. The newest polls, therefore, could shift the Romney campaign strategy.
