Watch: Reporter Has Bad News for Those Waiting for Mueller Bombshell

ABC News chief Washington correspondent Jonathan Karl said on Sunday that those who are hoping for a “bombshell” in special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation are likely to be disappointed, according to his sources. . .

“What I am getting is that this is all building up to the Mueller report and raising expectations of a bombshell report,” Karl said. “And there have been expectations that have been building, of course, for over a year on this. But people who are closest to what Mueller has been doing, interacting with the special counsel caution me that this report is almost certain to be anti-climactic.”

Roseanne Canceled After ‘Racist’ Tweet

By Chicago Tribune. ABC canceled its hit reboot of “Roseanne” on Tuesday following star Roseanne Barr’s racist tweet that referred to former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett as a product of the Muslim Brotherhood and the “Planet of the Apes.”

ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey said the comment “is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values.” Barr apologized and deleted her Monday-night tweet, calling it a “bad joke,” but the damage had already been done.

Late Tuesday, Barr tweeted a second apology to the writers and co-stars of the show and urging people not to feel sorry for her. She also highlighted supporters’ tweets that criticized ABC and two of its personalities, Joy Behar and Keith Olbermann.

She also retweeted a meme that juxtaposed shots of President Donald Trump next to orangutans, and an image of Jarrett next to a picture of a “Planet of the Apes” actress.

‘Roseanne’ Canceled by ABC

By Deadline Hollywood. ABC has abruptly canceled Roseanne Barr’s hit comedy series revival following a morning in which the star launched a tirade of racist and anti-semitic tweets.

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey just announced. . .

Barr’s family sitcom – the biggest success story of the 2017-18 TV season – had been picked up for a second season after only one episode, which clocked record ratings. Roseanne was the highest-rated and most watched freshman series of the 2017-18 season and ranked No. 2 overall among all entertainment programs in total viewers (17.82 million in Live+7) and in the adults 18-49 demographic (5.0 rating). Stephanopoulos Banned From Campaign Coverage? Here’s What Americans Think

George Stephanopoulos, a senior ABC News anchor, was caught last week hiding $75,000 in donations to the Bill and Hillary Clinton Foundation just after he grilled on air the author of a book critical of the foundation and Mrs. Clinton. He also was scheduled to moderate a presidential campaign debate before the media found out about the donations.

Forty-six percent (46%) of Likely U.S. Voters think ABC should ban Stephanopoulos from any programming related to the presidential campaign since Hillary Clinton is running for president. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 36% disagree and oppose banning him from presidential campaign coverage. Eighteen percent (18%) are undecided.

Sixty-six percent (66%) of Republicans and unaffiliated voters by a narrower 45% to 38% margin think the one-time senior Clinton White House official should be banned from presidential campaign coverage. Among Democrats, 30% say Stephanopoulos should be banned from covering the presidential race, but 50% disagree; 20% are undecided.

Thirty-four percent (34%) of all voters say they are less likely to believe the reporting on ABC News because Stephanopoulos failed to disclose this seeming conflict of interest. Sixteen percent (16%) say they are more likely to believe in ABC News’ reporting. Forty-two percent (42%) say the Stephanopoulos incident will have no impact on their confidence in ABC’s reporting.

In February, 40% of Americans said NBC News anchor Brian Williams had to go for being caught in a lie. Just as many (40%) said they are less likely to believe the reporting on NBC News because Williams didn’t tell the truth. Surprise! ABC Discovers That Barack Obama Is a ‘Progressive’ ‘Liberal’

After years of downplaying ideological labels for Barack Obama, ABC has seemingly accepted the idea that the President is a “progressive” and a “liberal.” While recapping the inauguration, Good Morning America’s journalists used the terms four times in just two minutes and 45 seconds. Yet, when Obama was a Democratic primary candidate in 2007, the networks deployed the L-word just twice– in the entire year.

On Tuesday, George Stephanopoulos hyped the ideological content of Obama’s second inaugural: “The speech, a call to action, an uncompromising annunciation of liberal principles.”

Seconds later, the former Democratic operative turned journalist reiterated, insisting that “liberals were cheering yesterday.” Jon Karl trumpeted, “He went lofty. He went ambitious. And he went unmistakably liberal.”

The labels continued as Karl repeated, “[Obama] unapologetically laid out a progressive agenda, promising action on climate change, equal pay for women and immigration.”

It only took two presidential elections for ABC to come around to this idea. The ABC graphic for the segment touted the liberal agenda: “Obama’s Inaugural: ‘We Must Act’ Pushes Equality and Togetherness.”

New York Times is a Sinking Ship, Cannot Aid Obama

In a recent Pew poll, the legendary paper of record was voted less “believable” than ABC News, the Wall Street Journal, CNN, NBC news, and CBS News. What a comedown for the Grey Lady.

Not only is the paper considered less trustworthy than most others news organizations, the decline has been sharp. The average believability of the 13 news organizations reviewed was 56%; the Times came in at 49%. (The Wall Street Journal comes in at 58%, by comparison.) Whereas trust in all those outfits has dropped in recent years, the Times has fared worse than most. Since 2010, their rating has sunk from 58 to 49.

For a paper that boasts a proud heritage and certainly a devoted following among liberals, this should be worrisome. Indeed, in his “farewell column” published this past weekend, Public Editor Arthur Brisbane, essentially the paper’s ombudsman, took the Times to task, saying that its “political and cultural progressivism…virtually bleeds through the fabric of The Times.” He describes the paper as a “hive on Eighth Avenue…shaped by a culture of like minds” – a uni-view that he suggests is more visible from the outside than the inside. That may or may not be correct, but for sure, Americans have taken note.

For the Obama White House, this disaffection with our leading newspaper should be something of a heads-up. If the Times acts as a virtual mouthpiece for the administration, and people do not find it credible, what does that say about the president?

It is not only 63% of Republicans that judge the Times lacking in credibility, it is also 56% of independents. Among those same independents, only 45% consider the Wall Street Journal unreliable.
