Palin on IRS Corruption: I’m Sure Obama is Grateful

Today we learned that our government targeted and harassed conservative Americans who simply wanted to be involved in the national discussion. Is it any wonder why Americans are so distrustful of D.C.? I’m sure President Obama is grateful for all the help the IRS gave his reelection campaign, but, still, you have to wonder how the bureaucrats who tried to pull this off can sleep at night.

So many Americans knew this was happening, but many felt defenseless and even helpless against a government that seems to roll along without accountability or sense of obligation to the people it’s supposed to serve. These Americans were mocked for being concerned about this, but now we see light shining on the truth, finally.

This IRS revelation is another step in the unraveling of the Obama administration’s self-proclaimed “hope and change.” Between the Benghazi cover-up and the IRS targeting Obama’s political opponents, we see the corruption at the heart of big government.

Americans should remember that this same corrupt IRS will be in charge of enforcing Obamacare. And this same inept and corrupt government will supposedly secure our now unsecured borders in advance of immigration reform and will implement a completely ethical and non-political IPAB panel to make life and death health care decisions for you and your family. Forgive me for not trusting these big government promises any more than I trust the White House’s latest Benghazi spin or the IRS’ fairness.

Despite all of this, I still believe that this “fundamental transformation of America” is temporary. This attempted transformation into a disheartened, weakened, unrecognizable nation is so far below anything Americans deserve. It becomes permanent only if we throw up our hands and surrender to the corruption and cover-ups.

We must demand more light shine on all that’s transpiring in D.C.’s self-absorbed bubble. On the IRS scandal, we must have accountability and a full investigation. On Benghazi, Speaker Boehner must create a Select Committee with full investigative and subpoena authority to get to the bottom of the cover-up. Keep the faith, friends.

Benghazi Whistle-Blower a Democrat, Voted for Hillary and Obama Twice

Photo Credit: Daily Caller A key Benghazi whistle-blower who has allegedly been punished for speaking out against the administration is a registered Democrat who voted for both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

The lawyer of Gregory Hicks, the former U.S. deputy chief of mission in Libya who testified before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Wednesday, confirmed the information to The Daily Caller on Saturday.

According to the lawyer, Victoria Toensing, Hicks voted for Clinton during the 2008 primary, and for then-Illinois Sen. Obama in the 2008 general election. He again voted for Obama in 2012.

“The fact is he is a registered Democrat in Virginia. The fact is he voted for Hilary in the primary and Obama and then again for Obama,” Toensing said.

Toensing added that she did not know he was a Democrat until the day before the hearing.

Democratic Strategist: Party ‘In Decline’

Photo Credit: APOne of the Democrats’ most veteran strategists warns that the party is “in decline” and “at considerable risk” when President Barack Obama is no longer on the scene.

“Since Obama was elected President, the Democrats have lost nine governorships, 56 members of the House and two Senate seats,” Doug Sosnik, the political director in Bill Clinton’s White House, writes in a new memo.

While Republican branding problems get the lion’s share of attention, the Democratic Party’s favorability rating has declined by 15 points since Obama took power. A Pew Research Center survey this January showed that the Democratic Party was viewed favorably by 47 percent of Americans, down from 62 percent in Jan. 2009.
With the likelihood of gridlock and near-record-low confidence in public institutions, Sosnik expects 2014 to bring the fourth change election in the past eight years.

“This puts Senate Democrats in a vulnerable position, while threatening Republican’s control of the House as well as their sizeable numerical advantage in the governorships across the country,” writes Sosnik, who advised Hillary Clinton in the 2008 presidential race and now does consulting work for a variety of private-sector clients.

IRS Mess

It continues a slovenly week for Barack Obama. The President has been very proud of the absence of scandal in his administration, and rightly so. The inability of his opponents to find any significant corruption in the historic $800 billion stimulus package was a real achievement, given the speed of the payout. None of his top aides have been caught up in taking bribes while in office–although their race through the revolving door into lucrative private sector positions is well beyond nauseating.

As in most presidencies, there have been an awful lot of political hacks populating the mid-reaches of this Administration. In the Obama instance, these have shown an anachronistic, pre-Clinton liberal bias when it comes to the rules and regulations governing many of our safety net programs, like social security disability. And now they have violated one of the more sacred rules of our democracy: you do not use the tax code to punish your opponents.

Obama Celebrates Mother’s Day With Free Birth Control (+video)

Boehner Stands Between GOP House and Special Select Committee on Benghazi

Photo Credit: APSixty-two percent of the Republican members of the House of Representatives–143 of 231–are now co-sponsoring a bill that would authorize a special committee to investigate the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya.

The only thing standing between this super-majority of House Republicans and the special investigative committee they seek is House Speaker John Boehner, who controls the legislation the Republican majority brings to the floor for a vote.

“In the last few days the public has learned stunning new revelations about the Benghazi terrorist attack and the Obama Administration’s troubling response in the hours and days that followed,” Rep. Frank Wolf (R.-Va.), the principal sponsor the legislation, said today in a letter to Boehner. “Much of this new information has come as brave whistleblowers have sought to right the record and, in doing so, may have jeopardized their careers. Increasingly it is becoming clear that we have only scratched the tip of the iceberg.”

While applauding the hearing that House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa (R.-Calif.) held yesterday, Wolf argued that that hearing actually demonstrated the need for the special investigative committee that a super-majority of Boehner’s Republican colleagues now seek.

“Chairman Issa’s hearing yesterday was a positive step forward in the effort to investigate the administration for its apparent cover up of key information about the nature of the attack and its response,” Wolf told Boehner. “I appreciate your leadership and that of the committees to advance the investigation to this point.

Rush Limbaugh Says Obama Has Gotten Away With Benghazi (+video)

On Rush Limbaugh’s program Thursday, he shocked listeners with his take on Benghazi:

“Those of you who listen to this program know exactly what happened in Benghazi, and you know exactly why the White House didn’t want anyone to know about it,” Limbaugh said. “There’s just one remaining question that I have been asking for weeks; no, I’ve been asking this question for months. Where was Obama during all of it? That’s the one thing that nobody knows. Where was Obama when four Americans were under assault and ultimately being killed? And there doesn’t seem to be any curiosity inside official Washington.”

He also said that the media has already dismissed the news as nothing more than a “political effort,” despite widespread coverage in the top newspapers.

“The media is treating it today as a non-event or as a Republican political effort to embarrass our delightful president and our future president, Hillary Clinton,” he said.

Perhaps one of the more surprising elements of Limbaugh’s analysis was his suggestion that the Obama administration has gotten away with a cover-up.

Former Commander of Pacific Fleet: Obama’s Dereliction of Duty is Un-American (+video)

Photo Credit: YouTubeThe former commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral James Lyon, Jr., slammed Obama’s dereliction of duty as “un-American” and also characterized his ROE’s (rules of engagement) as nonsense.

Admiral Lyon then went on to examine the Islamic threat to the US. He cites the latest Pew Survey of Muslim countries reflecting that most of their residents want Islamic law, not “freedom and democracy.”

He then states that, even in America, “more than 80% of the mosques preach hatred of Jews and Christian and promote jihad.”

The admiral also talks about the Islamists’ penetration of our government. He states that this has led to the Muslim Brotherhood actually having input into our troops restricted rules of engagement.

Finally, Admiral Lyon asserts that the current CIA Director, John Brennan, is “a convert to Islam, which never seems to get discussed”:

Why Obama and Hillary Engaged in the Benghazi Cover-Up (+video)

Photo Credit: YouTubeIn perhaps one of the most logical articles we’ve seen explaining Obama’s and Hillary’s actions in Benghazi recently, Erick Erickson’s Red State provides a plausible explanation for the Benghazi cover-up:

The general rule here is Command takes responsibility. JFK survived the Bay of Pigs incident because he embraced that rule. Nixon didn’t survive Watergate because he didn’t. If Obama had said Well, we thought that we had good security up at Benghazi, only we didn’t, so al-Qaeda caught us by surprise and killed our people and that was something that I have to take full responsibility for and I’m never going to let that happen again then… well, he might have lost the election, actually. We didn’t realize at the time, but Obama’s 2012 re-election strategy had pretty much no margin for error. So the administration picked a narrative (it was all due to a YouTube video!) that cynically traded on stereotypes about foreign Muslims and their collective level of impulse control, and did nothing but push said narrative for as long as they could. Which was, oddly enough, long enough for the election to be over.

So why didn’t the Republican National Committee and Romney try to sink this narrative? Well, believe it or not, the RNC actually cut an ad calling the Obama Administration out on Benghazi:

Inexplicably, the ad was never aired.

Video Maker Blamed for Benghazi Remains Jailed

He’s been in jail since the controversy erupted, officially for reasons unrelated to his “offense” against Islam.

A lawyer for the filmmaker told WND his client was serving time for a probation violation and is scheduled to be released this fall from a prison in Latoona, Texas.

The issue was all over Twitter, where one person commented, “It’s crystal clear that the terrorists who killed four Americans in Benghazi weren’t spurred on by an anti-Islam video, despite what administration officials wanted the public to believe. But nearly eight months after the attacks, ‘Innocence of Muslims’ filmmaker Makoula Basseley Nakoula still languishes in prison.”
