House Intel Committee Ramps up Probe on Obama ‘Unmasking’

The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence is ramping up investigation into former President Barack Obama administration’s campaign to “unmask” President Donald Trump aides who were incidentally surveilled in meetings with foreign officials, The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group has learned.

The committee is also intensifying a probe into Fusion GPS, a private “opposition research” company that distributed a salacious memo on Trump, called the “Trump Dossier.”

Over the next two weeks the House committee is expected to privately interview former U.N. Ambassador Samantha Power, who reportedly unmasked or identified as many as 260 Americans, primarily Trump campaign or transition officials.

Power was so aggressive in her efforts to unmask Trump aides, she asked U.S intelligence officials on nearly a daily basis to “unmask” or identify Trump officials who had passing contacts with foreign officials, according to a Fox News report on Sept. 20. Scrapping Obama’s Plan Means Seniors Can Eat and Have Heat

An Obama-era plan to drastically reduce carbon emissions is on its way to the regulatory scrap heap after the Environmental Protection Agency Tuesday announced a repeal of the Clean Power Plan.

For Americans already struggling with much higher energy costs, the news will be welcome in many households trying to make ends meet.

“This was designed to cause electricity rates, according to [Obama] to necessarily skyrocket. So that won’t happen. The seniors, the poor on low and fixed income who had to choose between heating and eating will now, we hope, not have to,” said Christopher Horner, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute.

The Trump administration projects the move will result in $33 billion in avoided costs due to the proposed policy. Horner suspects the actual number is much higher.

Why Would Obama Allow His Daughter to Intern for a Sexual Predator? Michelle Praises Him as a ‘Wonderful Human Being’

As news breaks on media mogul Harvey Weinsten’s alleged sexual harassment stretching back decades, it’s alarming to think how many women may have passed through the doors of what accusers claim was a toxic work environment. One young lady who just added The Weinstein Company to their resume? Malia Obama, Barack and Michelle’s eldest daughter. When Malia Obama worked for Harvey Weinstein, she was 18. To be clear, Obama is not one of the women accusing Weinstein of sexual harassment. A statement from Weinstein’s lawyer to The New York Times states, “He denies many of the accusations as patently false.” Weinstein also released a longer statement to the Times that said in part:

“I appreciate the way I’ve behaved with colleagues in the past has caused a lot of pain, and I sincerely apologize for it. Though I’m trying to do better, I know I have a long way to go.” . . .

EARLIER: Page Six first reported Malia Obama’s internship back on January 19, 2017 as unconfirmed rumor, but the very next day, The Hollywood Reporter officially confirmed Obama had secured an internship. This isn’t the first brush the Obamas have had with Weinstein. In 2011, Weinstein held a lavish, star-studded fundraiser for Obama’s 2012 presidential run at the exec’s Westport, CT mansion, and donated over $28,500 indirectly to Obama’s 2008 campaign through the DNC and their White House Victory Fund. Michelle Obama Praised Harvey Weinstein as a ‘Wonderful Human Being’

By Fox News. Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein will reportedly be suspended from his film company pending an internal probe into multiple sexual harassment claims.

This comes after The New York Times reported Thursday that Weinstein has reached at least eight legal settlements with women over alleged harassment.

In the wake of these allegations, a video is making the rounds, showing former First Lady Michelle Obama praising Weinstein as a “wonderful human being” and a “good friend” at a student film symposium in 2013.

“I want to start by thanking Harvey Weinstein for organizing this amazing day,” Obama said at the Careers in Film Symposium at the White House. “This is possible because of Harvey. He is a wonderful human being, a good friend and just a powerhouse.”

“And the fact that he and his team took the time to make this happen for all of you should say something not about me or about this place, but about you,” she continued.

Harvey Weinstein Paid off Sexual Harassment Accusers for Decades

By The New York Times. Two decades ago, the Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein invited Ashley Judd to the Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel for what the young actress expected to be a business breakfast meeting. Instead, he had her sent up to his room, where he appeared in a bathrobe and asked if he could give her a massage or she could watch him shower, she recalled in an interview . . .

In 2014, Mr. Weinstein invited Emily Nestor, who had worked just one day as a temporary employee, to the same hotel and made another offer: If she accepted his sexual advances, he would boost her career, according to accounts she provided to colleagues who sent them to Weinstein Company executives. The following year, once again at the Peninsula, a female assistant said Mr. Weinstein badgered her into giving him a massage while he was naked, leaving her “crying and very distraught,” wrote a colleague, Lauren O’Connor, in a searing memo asserting sexual harassment and other misconduct by their boss . . .

An investigation by The New York Times found previously undisclosed allegations against Mr. Weinstein stretching over nearly three decades, documented through interviews with current and former employees and film industry workers, as well as legal records, emails and internal documents from the businesses he has run, Miramax and the Weinstein Company.

During that time, after being confronted with allegations including sexual harassment and unwanted physical contact, Mr. Weinstein has reached at least eight settlements with women, according to two company officials speaking on the condition of anonymity. Report: Obama Used IRS to Push Obamacare

It’s no secret that the Internal Revenue Service was used as a political weapon by the Obama administration – just talk to any of the thousands of people affected by the agency’s obstruction of conservative, Christian and tea party organizations at the time Obama was seeking re-election.

Now, government documents have been obtained through a Judicial Watch lawsuit that show the scope of the abuse was much broader, including one revealing the White House used the IRS to pressure Americans to support Obamacare.

“So now we have more evidence of more Obama IRS abuses targeting innocent Americans – all in the name of Obamacare,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “No wonder it took a federal lawsuit and court order to get these documents – as they show the Obama White House and its agencies were happy to threaten and treat Americans like lab rats in order to bolster Obamacare.”

His organization announced Monday it has obtained two more batches of documents.

The documents, Judicial Watch said, show the Obama IRS “coordinated with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Obama White House Behavioral Sciences ‘Team’ in a $5 million program to pressure Americans to sign up for Obamacare.” (Read more from “Report: Obama Used IRS to Push Obamacare” HERE)

Details Released: Obama’s Vacation Tab Totaled…

Most American families could put together a pretty nice vacation for $36,185. After all, that’s well beyond half of the median household income of about $59,000.

A family of four could do an African safari or spend a couple of weeks touring Europe, or take a cruise that wouldn’t seem to end. Or that amount would make a nice down payment on an RV.

But that’s what taxpayers spent on vacations for Barack Obama and his family . . .

For eight full years.

Obama’s Legacy: A Nuclear North Korea. Will Trump Channel Reagan?

Your dog is hungry and has decided to employ the often-used strategy to get what he wants. He’s going to bark, for hours if necessary, until you finally relent and give him a biscuit. The yapping drives you crazy, so you figure the easiest thing to do to quiet your canine friend is to continue to reward him with treats. You probably realize that from the beginning, you should simply have ignored the dog’s howls, and he would likely have given up on the tactic long ago. But you didn’t want to have to deal with him. Now, instead of having trained the dog, the dog has trained you.

North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is the dog, and he’s barking louder than ever. He’s relying on past precedent, knowing that over the years, America has eventually given Pyongyang the biscuit, in the form of billions of dollars in assistance.

Through the past several administrations, Republicans and Democrats alike have rewarded North Korean saber-rattling with generous sums of financial aid. And time and time again, North Korea goes back to the well, using its nuclear program as a bargaining chip to receive massive amounts of cash. Since the 1990s, the United States government has sent the North Korean regime billions of dollars in exchange for the promise of dismantling its nuclear program.

Though humanitarian in principle, this aid allows the North Korean regime to continue allocating resources toward its military — in particular, to advance its nuclear weapons program.

It started with the “North Korea deal,” which was negotiated by at least one of the same individuals who bargained over the nuclear deal with the terrorist regime in Iran. In October 1994, President Bill Clinton approved a deal to send $4 billion in “energy aid” to North Korea. In return, the Stalinist regime was supposed to “dismantle its nuclear weapons development program,” the New York Times reported at the time.

What Clinton officials naively overlooked was that they were creating an incentive for North Korea to continue, not halt, its nuke program, seeing billions more in potential aid over the horizon.

In 2007, the Bush administration celebrated a “deal” that delivered millions in “economic aid” to North Korea in exchange for Pyongyang’s agreement to “dismantle all of its nuclear facilities.”

Not all were convinced that it was the right play, including Donald Trump. Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton warned at the time:

“This is like Lucy and Charlie Brown and the football. How many times are we going to go through this with them?”

But the aid continued into the Obama administration.

In 2012, under President Barack Obama, White House officials again rejoiced that the North Koreans were “suspending nuclear activities.” In exchange for 240,000 metric tons of food aid, North Korea “agreed” to suspend its nuclear programs. That program was cut short, but the Obama administration continued to send aid to North Korea up until the week Donald Trump was elected president.

Now, North Korea is back at it again, rattling the saber as usual under the Millennial leader Kim Jong Un.

On Tuesday, President Trump warned Pyongyang against more threats against the U.S., saying the regime would be met with “fire and fury.” Kim then threatened to bomb the U.S. territory of Guam. It’s difficult to determine whether the threat from Kim is serious. But what history does tells us is that Kim is engaging in the time-tested, proven strategy employed by his predecessors.

Due to the 20+ years of misguided capitulation by previous administrations, President Trump has a serious inherited challenge on his hands. Pyongyang is reportedly producing missile-ready nuclear weapons. Will this induce the Trump administration to deliver to North Korea what it wants, continuing to bolster the regime? Or instead, will Trump chart his own path and embrace the time-tested principles of “peace through strength” articulated by President Ronald Reagan? Handwritten Obama Note Found – Exposes MASSIVE Hillary Email Lie

A series of handwritten FBI notes that were recently released have confirmed that Barack Obama’s administration’s White House counsel was directly involved in deliberations over the release of Hillary Clinton emails as early as spring of 2015.

“Pat Kennedy (early May ’15) calls interagency MTG (meeting) re: scheduled release by JAN ’16, asking quick turnarounds – WH Counsel, CIA, etc…OSD, DNI, NSC and (redacted),” the notes read, according to Fox News.

These notes lay the case out from the perspective of the FBI agents investigating it. The reference to “Counsel,” seems to be the earliest confirmation of White House involvement.

This came after Obama’s White House tried to put as much distance between itself and the Clinton email scandal as possible. In a March 7, 2015 interview, Obama claimed that he had only learned that Clinton was using a private email server to conduct official government business from the media . . .

However, emails released by WikiLeaks written that same day from Clinton aide Cheryl Mills to Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta say otherwise.

Former U.N. Amb. Power Unmasked ‘Hundreds’ in Final Year of Obama Admin

Former United Nations Ambassador Samantha Power is believed to have made “hundreds” of unmasking requests to identify individuals named in classified intelligence community reports related to Trump and his presidential transition team, according to multiple sources who said the behavior is unprecedented for an official in her position.

Power was first identified by the Washington Free Beacon last month as a central figure in a congressional investigation into efforts by senior Obama administration officials to obtain classified intelligence information in what many allege was an effort to undermine President Donald Trump and his incoming national security team.

Power is believed to be the anonymous official responsible for “hundreds of unmasking requests during the final year of the Obama administration,” according to current and former U.S. officials who spoke to the Free Beacon about the ongoing investigation.

Efforts by the former Obama administration to obtain the names of Trump allies included in raw intelligence reports have fueled speculation that subsequent leaks to the press were orchestrated by the former administration and its allies in a bid to damage the current White House and smear Trump’s most senior confidantes.

Rep. Devin Nunes (R., Calif.), chair of the House Intelligence Committee, which is handling the probe, petitioned Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats last week to request his help in addressing the unmasking issue. Court Rules Against Lawless Obama … and in Favor of Ethanol Mafia

Imagine the look on the face of James Madison were he to be informed that a private industry now has the power to convince a federal court to force the American people to purchase its expensive, ineffective product. The founders knew monarchism and they knew republicanism, but could they have imagined venture socialism – whereby private companies can force the citizenry to patronize their businesses?

This is exactly what happened Friday when the ethanol mafia won another victory in court. Several weeks ago, I criticized the administration for not trying to reduce the target fuel blend for ethanol under the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS), but now it appears that the courts will just mandate whatever level of blending is desired by the industry, which is incapable of marketing its product without the boot of government. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ruled that the Obama administration misused its waiver authority to set the target biofuels levels below the mandate prescribed by the Renewable Fuels Standard.

Yes, the courts have finally found religion against Obama’s lawless use of executive authority.

I don’t begrudge the court for interpreting statute this way, but this is just another demonstration of why the courts are a one-way street and a dead end for conservatives on policy. The Renewable Fuels Standard shouldn’t be regarded as constitutional in the first place.

What last week’s decision demonstrates is that even if we successfully weaned the president off his affinity for the price-hiking ethanol mandate, the courts will block any administrative action. That is why Congress must repeal the ethanol mandate once and for all. After accomplishing nothing for the first half of the year, this is an opportunity for the GOP Congress to strike out against the Obamacare of energy and lower the cost of the fuel and food. It’s another opportunity to show the voters how government intervention on behalf of cronies has raised the cost of the most vital consumer goods and services – all to enrich the well-connected through the use of unconstitutional mandates.

Another lesson related to health care is that any effort to limit the regulatory burden of Obamacare will fail. Many Republican apologists have suggested that Congress doesn’t need to repeal the insurance regulations because HHS Secretary Tom Price could alleviate the burden through waiver authority. However, it’s very clear that when it comes to conservatives pushing the envelope on executive authority, the courts, unlike during the past administration, will serve as a bulwark against any loose interpretations. For when it comes to interpreting unconstitutional laws, suddenly the courts are scrupulous in following the strict dictates of the written statute. MSM Ignores Explosive Admission From Obama’s Cybersecurity Expert: Russians Never Hacked Election

By Chana Roberts. In an interview with Army Radio on Wednesday, former White House Special Assistant to the President and Cybersecurity Coordinator Michael Daniel spoke about the claims that Russia hacked the November 2016 elections to favor US President Donald Trump.

“I definitely don’t think that the Russians or anyone else – they certainly didn’t change any votes,” Daniel said. “The votes that were cast properly reflect the votes of the American people.”

Trump Trusts Putin’s Denial of Russia Meddling in US Election

By Graham Lanktree. U.S. President Donald Trump said Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “vehemently denied” that Russia interfered in the 2016 election, when the two met face-to-face during the G20 Summit Friday.

“I strongly pressed President Putin twice about Russian meddling in our election. He vehemently denied it. I’ve already given my opinion,” Trump wrote in an early morning tweet Sunday.

Trump has repeatedly claimed that an American intelligence community assessment that Russia interfered in last year’s election is wrong.
