‘Let Me Finish My Thought!’ Trump’s Envoy Shouted Down by Israelis After Hailing Netanyahu

Steve Witkoff, President Donald Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, was shouted down in Israel Saturday after hailing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as being instrumental in the Gaza peace plan that was agreed to, in part, by both Israel and Hamas.

“This moment was made through the tireless dedication of leaders who would not rest until the world saw what could be achieved, one of them standing right here with me, Jared Kushner,” Witkoff said to a crowd of thousands in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Witkoff then proceeded to mention Netanyahu’s name in his round of thanks only to be met with loud boos and jeers from the crowd. . .

“I, I, okay, let me just finish my thought. I was, I was in the trenches… guys, let me just finish my thought,” Witkoff said, as he struggled to tamper down the jeers from the crowd. “I was in the trenches with the prime minister – believe me, he was a very important part here.”

Boos continued to ring out from the audience at every mention of Netanyahu, whose popularity among Israelis has plummeted since Hamas’ attack in 2023, with many Israeli critics accusing Netanyahu of deliberately undermining a hostage deal. Father of Hamas Hostage Furious With Netanyahu Despite Deal

The father of a hostage held by Hamas militants has vented his anger at Benjamin Netanyahu, saying that the Israeli prime minister’s actions since the October 7, 2023 attacks prolonged the suffering of his son.

The comments by Yehuda Cohen, whose son Nimrod has been held in captivity for over two years, follow President Donald Trump’s announcement that Israel and Hamas had agreed the first phase of a Gaza peace deal to facilitate the release of the remaining Israeli hostages, around 20 of whom are believed to be still alive.

The Hostages and Missing Families Forum praised Trump for his role in helping bring the captives home, but Yehuda Cohen told BBC radio program Today “due to Netanyahu’s personal and political interest, this was prolonged for two years.” . . .

The optimism expressed by the hostages’ families underscores the relief at the possible quick return of their loved ones. But Cohen’s comments have also expressed his fears over the physical and mental condition the captives – as well as anger at Netanyahu’s actions leading up to and during the war. Israeli Opposition Leader Yair Lapid Denounces ‘Extremist and Failed Government,’ Calls for ‘New Direction’

Yair Lapid, the leader of Israel’s opposition, denounced the “extremist and failed government” of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, blaming it for the country’s current precarious position.

In an essay published in Foreign Affairs on the second anniversary of the Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attack by Hamas, Lapid let loose some of his most scathing criticisms of Netanyahu’s government yet, buoyed by the possible end of the war in Gaza. Lapid blames the current government for trashing Israel’s diplomatic position in the world, harming its relationship with the United States, failing to combat rising antisemitism, harming Israel’s democratic foundations, failing to respond to Hamas’s surprise attack properly, and more.

“Israel is not a failed state. It is a great state with a failed government. Its foundations remain strong. Israel is undeniably in crisis, but the source of the crisis is not structural. It is political,” Lapid wrote.

He contrasted the current situation Israel has found itself in with three years ago, when the country was normalizing relations with the Arab world, boasted world-class research and business fields, and “blended a profound philosophical and historical depth with the best of modernity.” . . .

“The crisis is the result of an extremist and failed government, led by a prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, who is implicated in criminal cases and has lost the support of the Israeli public. His years in power have corrupted him and those around him. This government is openly contemptuous of the principle of a democratic State of Israel committed to Western liberal values. In its place, it seeks to install a theocratic and illiberal regime, one that is exempt from media scrutiny and free of the nuisance of concepts such as the rule of law and the constant threat of free and fair elections,” Lapid ruled. Inside Trump’s Blunt Exchange With Netanyahu After Major Development in Gaza Peace Deal: ‘So F–king Negative’

President Trump blasted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and told him not to be “so f–king negative” for being a downer on Hamas accepting key parts of his Gaza peace deal, The Post has learned.

The blunt exchange unfolded when Trump called Netanyahu last Friday soon after the militant group finally responded to his plan, a source close to the White House told The Post.

Despite Trump seeing the development as a major win amid his push to halt the war in Gaza, Netanyahu is said to have tried to pour cold water on it.

“I don’t know why you’re always so f–king negative. This is a win. Take it,” Trump apparently shot back.

Trump additionally complained that “Bibi is always trying to knife his deals,” according to the source.

Details of the call, which was first reported on by Axios, emerged as Israel and Hamas were set to begin indirect talks in Egypt on Monday after both sides signaled support for Trump’s peace plan. Trump Reveals Netanyahu Phone Call That Moved Israeli PM Toward Gaza Deal: ‘Your Chance for Victory’

President Trump told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu he had no choice but to accept his cease-fire proposal, Israeli television’s Channel 12 reported Saturday.

“Netanyahu had reservations but I told him that this is his opportunity for victory,” Trump told reporter Barak Ravid in a phone call Saturday. “He accepted it. There is no other choice, with me you have to be okay.”

“Bibi went too far in Gaza and Israel lost a lot of support in the world,” Trump added. “Now I will bring back all that support.” (Read more from “Trump Reveals Netanyahu Phone Call That Moved Israeli PM Toward Gaza Deal: ‘Your Chance for Victory’” HERE)

Netanyahu Admits Israel Pays U.S. Influencers Over $7,000 Per Post to Shape Opinion on Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has openly acknowledged that his government is paying U.S. social media influencers up to $7,372 per post in an aggressive digital campaign to sway American public opinion in favor of Israel’s military operations in Gaza. The revelation, based on recent Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) filings and reporting by Responsible Statecraft, has sparked fresh scrutiny over foreign influence in U.S. media and political discourse.

Speaking at a closed-door meeting with American influencers at the Israeli Consulate General in New York, Netanyahu defended the strategy in stark terms. “We have to fight back. How do we fight back? Our influencers,” he said in recorded footage. “We cannot fight with swords anymore, that doesn’t work very well. We have to fight with weapons that apply to the battlefields in which we’re engaged in, and the most important ones are on social media.”

Netanyahu’s remarks underscore what many critics have long suspected: Israel sees social media as a critical front in its ongoing public relations war over its Gaza campaign and broader Palestinian policy.

The payments are part of a larger digital influence operation code-named the “Esther Project,” which runs from June to November 2025. The campaign is managed by Bridge Partners LLC, a Washington D.C.-based firm contracted by Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The company bills Israel through Havas Media Group Germany, creating an added layer of operational opacity.

According to Responsible Statecraft, of the $900,000 allocated to the effort, approximately $552,946 has been used for direct payments to influencers between June and September 2025. With 75 to 90 posts made during this period, influencers are being paid between $6,143 and $7,372 per post on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

The “Esther Project” bears a curious resemblance in name to the Heritage Foundation’s “Project Esther,” launched in late 2024, which focuses on dismantling pro-Palestinian activism in the U.S. by labeling Israel critics as “terrorist sympathizers.” While no formal connection has been confirmed, the overlap raises concerns about coordination between political, ideological, and state actors.

Bridge Partners, whose co-founders Yair Levi and Uri Steinberg each hold a 50% stake, describes its mission as promoting “cultural interchange” between the U.S. and Israel. The firm has enlisted former Israeli Defense Forces spokesperson Nadav Shtrauchler and the law firm Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, which previously represented the controversial Israeli spyware firm NSO Group.

The influencer campaign is just one element of Israel’s vastly expanded digital propaganda program—often referred to as hasbara. According to Jewish Insider, Israel’s public diplomacy budget has ballooned to $150 million in 2025, over 20 times what it was before the Gaza war escalated in October 2023.

This follows a series of exposed influence operations by the Israeli government, including a $2 million Ministry of Diaspora Affairs effort in 2024 that created hundreds of fake social media accounts targeting U.S. lawmakers—especially Black Democrats—to encourage continued American military aid to Israel, according to The New York Times.

Notably, the Esther Project coincides with the U.S. government’s controversial move to transfer ownership of TikTok’s U.S. operations to a consortium led by Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, a Netanyahu ally and major donor to Israel’s military apparatus. The timing raises additional questions about whether access to U.S. digital platforms is being used to further Israeli strategic interests.

While Israel continues to rely heavily on American military and diplomatic support, the revelation that it is actively funding covert influence operations on U.S. soil—particularly through social media influencers—raises serious questions about transparency, ethics, and foreign interference in the digital age.

Netanyahu at UN: Iranians Will ‘Regain Their Freedom’ and ‘Make Iran Great Again’; A New Middle East Is Within Reach

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared in his address to the United Nations General Assembly Friday that “the long-suffering Iranian people will regain their freedom” and “make Iran great again,” predicting that the Middle East will look “dramatically different” in the years ahead.

Netanyahu tied his remarks to Israel’s recent battlefield victories over Iran’s terror axis, arguing that those wins have opened unprecedented possibilities for peace across the region, including with former enemies once considered beyond reach. “Many of those who wage war on Israel today will be gone tomorrow. Brave peacemakers will take their place,” he told world leaders.

The Israeli leader directly addressed Iran, stressing that its citizens would ultimately free themselves from the ayatollahs’ grip. “Nowhere will this be more true than in Iran. The long-suffering Iranian people will regain their freedom. They will Make Iran Great Again!” Netanyahu declared — a phrase that echoed a slogan familiar to many in the hall.

UN Inquiry Finds Top Israeli Officials Incited Genocide in Gaza

A United Nations Commission of Inquiry concluded on Tuesday that Israel has committed genocide in Gaza and that top Israeli officials including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu incited these acts – accusations that Israel called scandalous.

The U.N. report, issued as Israel announced the start of a ground operation in Gaza City, cites examples of the scale of the killings, aid blockages, forced displacement and the destruction of a fertility clinic to back up its genocide finding, adding its voice to a scholars’ association and rights groups that have reached the same conclusion.

“Today we witness in real time how the promise of ‘never again’ is broken and tested in the eyes of the world. The ongoing genocide in Gaza is a moral outrage and a legal emergency,” Navi Pillay, head of the Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory and a former International Criminal Court judge, told a Geneva press briefing.

“The responsibility for these atrocity crimes lies with Israeli authorities at the highest echelons who have orchestrated a genocidal campaign for almost two years now with the specific intent to destroy the Palestinian group in Gaza.”

Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who was also named in the report, condemned its findings, which he said misinterpreted his words. (Read more from “UN Inquiry Finds Top Israeli Officials Incited Genocide in Gaza” HERE)

Newsmax Host Asks Netanyahu If Israel Is Behind The Killing Of Charlie Kirk

A Newsmax host asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to reply to fringetheories that Israel was behind the killing of Charlie Kirk ― and got an earful from the leader on the “ridiculous,” “insane” and “stupid” rumors.

Greta Van Susteren prefaced the question Thursday by noting the “absurdity” of the claims.

“Before I let you go, I want you to address one thing, and it’s just the absurdity of it,” Van Susteren said. “Some of the internet rumors that somehow Israel is behind the Charlie Kirk murder, and you know, I don’t believe it for one second, but I want you to, you know, make a statement. It’s so absurd.”

Netanyahu laughed ruefully before proceeding.

“That’s insane,” he said. “Israel also changes the orbit of the moon. Israel pushes the sun. I mean, the whole thing is not only insane, I think it’s so absurd, so stupid, and so ridiculous. You can’t believe that people are saying that.”

Trump Calls Netanyahu a ‘War Hero’ and Adds: ‘I Guess I Am, Too’

President Trump praised Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel as a “war hero” for ordering his country’s forces to bombard Iran’s nuclear sites — and then said that the same label should apply to himself.

In an interview aired Tuesday with Mark Levin, the conservative talk show host and author who is a prominent supporter of the president, Mr. Trump described Mr. Netanyahu as a “good man.” His words echoed the mood of self-congratulation over the strikes on Iran when the two leaders met at the White House in July.

“He’s a war hero, because we work together. He’s a war hero,” Mr. Trump said of the Israeli leader. “I guess I am too,” he added.

Israel in mid-June launched waves of airstrikes against Iran, hitting important nuclear facilities in Natanz and Isfahan. It killed much of the country’s military chain of command along with several nuclear scientists. Then, on June 22, the United States used large bombs to strike the Iranian nuclear site at Fordo, which is buried under a mountain.
