The former ​Border Patrol chief is warning that President Biden’s mishandling of the surge of illegal immigrants at the southern border has caused more than a humanitarian crisis — it’s also created a national security threat because of the number of known or suspected terrorists crossing into the US.

“Over and over again, I see other people talk about our mission, your mission, and the context of it being immigration or the current crisis today being an immigration crisis,” ​Rodney ​Scott ​said in a video message to his agents before retiring on Aug. 14, which was obtained by the Washington Examiner.

“I firmly believe that it is a national security crisis. Immigration is just a subcomponent of it, and right now, it’s just a cover for massive amounts of smuggling going across the southwest border — to include TSDBs at a level we have never seen before. That’s a real threat​,” Scott said, referring to the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Database. ​​

Judge Orders Biden to Reinstate Trump’s ‘Remain in Mexico’ Policy

A federal judge in northern Texas issued a nationwide injunction on Friday, ordering the Biden administration to reinstate former President Trump’s Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), or “remain in Mexico” policy. The lawsuit was filed by Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, alongside Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk ruled the Biden administration must “enforce and implement MPP in good faith until such a time as it has been lawfully rescinded in compliance with the [Administrative Procedure Act] APA and until such a time as the federal government has sufficient detention capacity to detain all aliens subject to mandatory detention under Section 1255 without releasing any aliens because of a lack of detention resources.”

Moreover, to ensure compliance with the ruling, the administration must file a report with the court on the 15th of each month beginning Sept. 15, detailing “the total monthly number of encounters at the southwest border,” “the total monthly number of aliens expelled under Title 42, Section 1225, or under any other statute,” “Defendants’ total detention capacity as well as current usage rate,” “the total monthly number of ‘ applicants for admission’ under Section 1225,” “the total monthly number of ‘applicants for admission’ under Section 1225 paroled into the United States,” and “the total monthly number of ‘applicants for admission’ under Section 1225 released into the United States, paroled or otherwise.”

Kacsmaryk ultimately concluded that the federal government “failed to consider several critical factors, including the benefits of the remain in Mexico policy,” and failed “to show a reasoned decision” for canceling MPP. Leaked Audio: DHS Secretary Says Border Crisis is ‘Unsustainable,’ ‘We’re Going to Lose’ (VIDEO)

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas privately told Border Patrol agents recently that the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border is “unsustainable” and that “we’re going to lose” if the influx continues and the “borders are the first line of defense.”

The secretary’s desperate message to immigration enforcement officials was reportedly recorded in secret by a Border Patrol agent and obtained by Fox News this week.

“A couple of days ago I was down in Mexico, and I said look, you know, if, if our borders are the first line of defense, we’re going to lose and this is unsustainable,” Mayorkas said. “We can’t continue like this, our people in the field can’t continue and our system isn’t built for it.”

Mayorkas reportedly told the agents that the current situation at the border “cannot continue” and added that the federal government’s system was not designed to handle such an influx of migrants.

Texas Has Had It With Biden’s Border Crisis – Governor Abbott Is Taking Matter Into His Own Hands

There is nothing like watching real Patriots stand up and make a difference. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced that Texas law enforcement has begun arresting illegal immigrants for trespassing.

“President Biden’s open-border policies have led to a humanitarian crisis at our southern border as record levels of illegal immigrants, drugs, and contraband pour into Texas,” Abbott said in a June 10 statement. “While securing the border is the federal government’s responsibility, Texas will not sit idly by as this crisis grows. The state is working collaboratively with communities impacted by the crisis to arrest and detain individuals coming into Texas illegally.”

“Texas has begun arresting illegal immigrants who are trespassing in Texas or vandalizing property & fences. They are now being sent to this jail rather than being released like the Biden Admin has been doing. We are adding more officers, National Guard & jails,” Abbott said Thursday.

Thus far, roughly 10 people, all single, adult men, have been arrested and thrown into the hoosegow, with more to come, authorities said Thursday. The jailbirds are being held at what had been a heretofore empty state prison in Dilley, Texas, which lies about 100 miles north of the border town of Laredo. The converted facility will be able to hold just over 950 people. Clearly not the “American dream” they’d hoped for, but that’s what happens when you enter Texas illegally. Texas authorities are expecting to arrest between 100 and 200 trespassers per day. Kamala Harris Doesn’t Actually Visit Border, Says Nothing of Substance, Leaves — It Was All Theater

Kamala Harris went to the border Friday for the first time as vice president, some three months after President Joe Biden put her in charge of the ongoing (and worsening) migrant crisis. . .

But it doesn’t really matter where the vice president goes, or when. Her trip to El Paso, like her trip to Mexico and Guatemala, is pure theater. As soon as Harris’s plane landed, the show began. Asked on the tarmac why she decided now was the right time to make her first trip to the border as vice president, Harris repeated the awkwardly obvious lie that she has “been to the border many times,” before regurgitating the absurd talking points that she had to go to Central America first to understand the “root causes” of migration.

Things didn’t improve from there. For one thing, Harris didn’t even go to the actual border. She visited a Border Patrol station about nine miles from the Rio Grande, talked to some immigration activists and legal service providers, posed for press photos back at the airport, and departed for Los Angeles before 1 p.m. Even the choice of El Paso was pure theatrics. Instead of going to the epicenter of the crisis, on the other end of Texas in the Rio Grande Valley, Harris reportedly chose El Paso because that’s where the Trump administration first implemented its short-lived family separation policy. Politics, not the harsh realities on the border, was her motivation.

None of this comes as a surprise. By now we’ve come to expect cursory and substance-less border theatrics from this administration, along with reckless policy decisions like ending the “Remain in Mexico” program, which probably did more than anything else to stave off the migrant surge that was unleashed when Biden signed the order. VP Harris Caught Supporting Border Closure She Opposed Under Trump

In 2020, then-Sen. Kamala Harris was among the 10 Democratic senators who signed a letter to former Acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf, accusing the Trump administration of violating federal law in using the pandemic as justification for closing the border with Mexico[:]

The Biden administration has continued to use the Trump-era policy, often dubbed Title 42 in reference to the U.S. code, to effectively seal the border. It does so under the argument that migrants trying to cross could pose a health risk during the Covid outbreak.

More than 60 House Democrats are urging President Joe Biden to end the policy, saying it has no legal basis. Dozens of public health experts say it has “no scientific basis as a public health measure.” Immigration advocates have filed legal challenges as well.

But Biden hasn’t budged; and Harris remains one of several Democrats who was critical of former President Donald Trump but has stayed quiet as the administration faces accusations that it is using Title 42 to control immigration but not the pandemic. […]

Harris’ silence on Title 42 illuminates the binds that she — and the Biden administration writ large — have faced upon taking office. Biden officials are trying to fulfill their campaign promises on immigration but have found that quickly reversing Trump’s policies can create an abundance of political headaches and contribute to a host of other problems, including trying to process and house a record number of unaccompanied children crossing the southern border. White House Makes Pathetic Excuse For Why Kamala Harris Hasn’t Visited the Border

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Monday that Vice President Kamala Harris, charged with leading the Biden administration’s efforts to manage the ongoing immigration crisis, has not visited the U.S.-Mexico border because her focus is on “root causes” of migration and she’s primarily “working on a diplomatic level.”

The vice president is facing mounting scrutiny this week over her failure to visit the border or even so much as hold a news conference about the ongoing crisis in the more than a month time frame since being tasked by President Joe Biden with “stemming the migration.”

An unprecedented surge on the border in recent months has resulted in thousands of unaccompanied minors being held in cramped, cage-like facilities and tens of thousands of adult migrants being released directly into the U.S., presumably without court dates under the administration’s catch-and-release policy.

The border surge, which has overwhelmed the unprepared Biden administration, is undoubtedly what spurred on Harris’ appointment. Yet now the White House seems intent on reframing the Harris’ role so as not to draw attention to the border. GOP Senator Mocks Kamala Harris, Saying Her ‘GPS Got Confused’

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz joined New Hampshire Republicans in slamming Vice President Kamala Harris for visiting the Granite State before traveling to the southern border.

“GPS got confused….” the Texas Republican wrote on Twitter of news that Harris was traveling to the northern border state.

“Montreal is going to invade,” Cruz added in a separate tweet.

Both Cruz and Harris have some history in Canada. Cruz, 50, was born in Calgary, where his parents lived before moving to Texas when he was a young child. DHS Whistleblower: Border Guards Are ‘Burned Out’ From Biden Policies (VIDEO)

A Homeland Security whistleblower is offering a glimpse into how officers facing the brunt of the illegal immigration crisis are faring — saying Biden policies “were implemented irresponsibly” by people who are removed from the situation on the ground and “do not have any sense of realism.”

In an interview with Fox News‘ Sara Carter on “Hannity” Thursday evening, the unidentified DHS official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, expressed increasing frustration at the federal government’s handling of the situation.

“People are just very burned out and there’s not a lot of optimism that it’s going to get better anytime soon,” the unnamed official, a male, told Carter.

Harris still hasn’t visited the border to see the crisis first hand, but she did back in 2019 when it was good politics.
