Aging could slow down with one common daily habit: ‘Live longer and better’

Aging can’t be stopped, but a daily pill could slow it down, according to new research led by Mass General Brigham in Boston.

Among people who took a multivitamin every day for two years, biological aging slowed down by about four months, found the study, which was published in Nature Medicine.

Biological aging refers to the pace of aging on a cellular level, which is often different from chronological age.

The findings came from a large randomized clinical trial of nearly 1,000 healthy older adults averaging 70 years of age. The participants were divided into four groups — one took a daily multivitamin-multimineral supplement along with a cocoa extract, one took a daily cocoa extract and placebo, one took a placebo and multivitamin, and one took just a placebo, according to the study press release.

The researchers analyzed blood samples taken from the participants at three points during the study, looking at five biomarkers known as “epigenetic clocks” that measure age-related changes to DNA.

“Aging at the cellular level can be marked by DNA methylation, where in some cells it decreases and in some it increases,” Dr. Marc Siegel, Fox News senior medical analyst, told Fox News Digital. “This is also described as epigenetic changes – or DNA expression.” (Read more from “Aging could slow down with one common daily habit: ‘Live longer and better’” HERE)

Multiple Nurses Working in Maternity Ward on Same Floor of Hospital Develop Brain Tumors

At least five nurses working on the same floor of a Boston-area hospital have been diagnosed with brain tumors, and they’re looking for answers.

The nurse’s union at the hospital, the Massachusetts Nurses Association (MNA), told Fox News Digital in a statement that it is actively supporting nurses at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, “who have brought forward serious medical concerns, focused on brain tumor diagnoses on the 5th floor maternity unit.”

“We recognize that nurses and many other people want immediate information about the situation,” the MNA continued. “This urgency comes from a place of concern for the health of nurses, their families, and patients — an urgency that we share.”

The MNA further said it is working to “complete an independent, scientific investigation” into the diagnoses.

“That effort is underway and may take additional weeks,” the MNA said. “The investigation is being conducted by the MNA’s division of health and safety, consisting of occupational health nurses, in collaboration with the Newton-Wellesley nurses.”

In addition, the nurses’ union said it has received more than 300 survey responses, emails and phone calls from current and former nurses, as well as other current and former hospital employees, regarding their health concerns. FBI Arrests Ultra-Liberal City Councilor For Allegedly Stealing Money, Making Cash Transfers In City Hall Bathroom

FBI agents arrested a Democratic Boston official Friday morning on federal corruption charges, citing an alleged “kickback scheme” to steal thousands of taxpayer dollars from her own constituents.

Tania Fernandes Anderson, who is serving in her second term as city councilor for Boston’s Seventh District, was indicted on one count of theft regarding programs receiving federal dollars and five counts of wire fraud, according to the Department of Justice’s indictment unsealed Friday.

Prosecutors allege that Fernandes Anderson, facing financial challenges last year following a state ethics commission’s decision to fine her $5,000 for violating a conflict of interest law, conspired with an unnamed relative on her staff in an alleged bonus kickback scheme to defraud the city of Boston. Fernandes Anderson allegedly paid her relative a $13,000 bonus — more than twice as large as the bonuses given to all of her other staff combined — who then slipped $7,000 in cash of that bonus to Fernandes Anderson during a secret exchange in a city hall bathroom on June 9, 2023, according to the DOJ’s indictment.

“Using public office for personal gain is a crime. Her behavior, as alleged in today’s indictment, is a slap in the face to the hardworking taxpayers in the city of Boston who have every right to expect that the city’s funds are in good and honest hands,” Jodi Cohen, special agent in charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Division, said in a press release following Fernandes Anderson’s arrest. “This case illustrates how the FBI, and our partners are working hard every day to battle public corruption and the corrosive damage it does to people’s faith in government.” (Read more from “FBI Arrests Ultra-Liberal City Councilor For Allegedly Stealing Money, Making Cash Transfers In City Hall Bathroom” HERE)

Mayor Ripped Over Plan to Give 11-Year-Old Kids, Migrants Voting Powers

Boston’s woke Mayor Michelle Wu has been ripped over a “tone-deaf” and “unserious” plan to give kids as young as 11 and undocumented migrants voting rights when it comes to deciding how millions of dollars in public funds are doled out.

The city’s new participatory budget voting process, which will go into effect in July, gives ordinary Bostonians the ability to decide how a portion of the city’s budget will be spent, the Boston Herald reported.

City Councilor Ed Flynn, a Democrat, slammed the new process — specifically the involvement of children — during a committee hearing reviewing Wu’s fiscal year 2025 budget earlier this week.

He also aired his grievances in a letter to the Office of Participatory Budgeting’s director, Renato Castelo, in which he flagged his “unequivocal and vehement opposition” to the looming process.

“During this time of great fiscal uncertainty — with a study warning that remote work policies and the city’s declining commercial property values may cost us $500 million in revenue annually, as well as a subsequent proposal to also tax commercial property at a higher rate — now more than ever, it is critical that we show the taxpayers of Boston that we take our financial responsibilities seriously,” Flynn wrote. GOP Investigators Seek Boston Connection in Biden Pseudonym Mystery

A pair of Senate Republicans want to know if nine boxes of materials retrieved from the Boston office of a personal attorney to President Joe Biden contained any pseudonyms or personal email addresses.

Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Ron Johnson (R-WI) sent a letter this week to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), asking whether the agency has reviewed the contents of the boxes obtained earlier this year from Patrick Moore’s law firm in Boston after allegedly being moved from Biden’s former think tank office in Washington, D.C.

“If so, did any of the Biden records discovered at Mr. Moore’s Boston office include the pseudonyms and email addresses listed below that then-Vice President Biden used?” they asked. The senators listed: “[email protected],” “[email protected],” “JRB Ware,” and “67stingray.”

NARA notified the senators in March that its staff had fetched the nine boxes from the Boston office at the request of the Justice Department in November as part of an investigation into Biden’s handling of classified documents currently led by special counsel Robert Hur. Grassley and Johnson had asked in prior correspondence whether NARA knew if the same email addresses appeared in any of the materials from Boston, but the agency insisted that its staff had not reviewed the contents at the time.

Biden’s suspected use of fake names has started to gain more attention in recent days as a group called the Southeastern Legal Foundation sued NARA to turn over approximately 5,400 records connected to Biden’s pseudonym accounts. Medical Center Denies Patient Life-Saving Care Over Face Mask Dispute

While most of the country has moved on from the Covid histrionics of the past three years, some states and medical wards still refuse to live with the virus — and patients in need of life-saving treatments are paying the price.

In Boston, Massachusetts — the city where the Sons of Liberty took a stand against British absolutism in the years preceding the American Revolution — a modern-day patriot is staging his own battle against unjust tyranny. At 43 years old, a man using the pseudonym John Doe is fighting for his life in a legal battle against the Boston Medical Center (BMC), which has denied him access to life-saving medical treatment because he won’t wear a face mask during visits to the clinic.

A born and raised Bostonian, Doe was first diagnosed with HIV in April 2006 and has since been a regular patient at BMC’s Center for Infectious Diseases. As part of his treatment, he undergoes antiretroviral therapy (ART), which includes taking a drug combination tablet once a day and semiannual in-person visits to BMC, where he has his blood drawn for analysis. If Doe doesn’t attend his appointments and get his blood analyzed, his pharmacy will not refill his ART prescription.

Despite strict adherence to his treatment protocol and cordial behavior with BMC staff, Doe’s situation took a turn for the worst after the outbreak of Covid. While able to obtain his medication from the pharmacy through telehealth appointments during Massachusetts’ initial lockdown phase, the return to in-person hospital visits proved difficult after Doe chose not to wear a face mask during clinic visits.

During his first post-lockdown appointment in September 2021, Doe was provided and ordered to wear a mask by BMC staff. According to a copy of his legal filing obtained by The Federalist, Doe had previously experienced “negative medical symptoms from using face masks,” but ultimately complied because he “felt pressured to agree to put the face mask on his face for fear of being deprived of his ART prescription.” (Read more from “Medical Center Denies Patient Life-Saving Care Over Face Mask Dispute” HERE)

Killer Experiment: US Researchers Say They’ve Developed COVID Strain With 80% Kill Rate

Researchers at Boston University say they have developed a new COVID strain that has an 80% kill rate following a series of similar experiments first thought to have started the global pandemic that began in China.

The variant, a combination of Omicron and the original virus in Wuhan, killed 80% of the mice infected with it, the university said. When mice were only exposed to Omicron, they experienced mild symptoms.

The research was conducted by a team of scientists from Florida and Boston at the school’s National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories.

They extracted the spike protein from Omicron and attached it with the strain first detected at the onset of the pandemic that began in Wuhan, China. They then documented how the mice reacted to the hybrid strain.

Boston Children’s Hospital’s Transgender Insanity Reveals How Unhinged Elites Make Money off Our Kids

Recent events at Boston Children’s Hospital reveal the yawning gulf between the values of ordinary American parents and the decadent beliefs of a venal and increasingly unhinged elite.

When activist “Billboard” Chris Elston broke the story of videos promoting “gender affirmation” for kids as young as 2 at the hospital, the outcry was immediate and immense. The progressive press has retaliated by calling this “right-wing harassment,” and of course any actual threats should be condemned.

But frankly, outrage is the right response to medics promoting the idea that kids young enough to be in diapers have a clear enough sense of their own identity to justify far-reaching changes such as “social transition,” in which everyone around a child agrees to pretend he or she is the opposite sex. A hospital psychologist even insisted in one video that “a good portion of children do know as early as from the womb.”

So when the US Justice Department came out in defense of the hospital last week, normal parents might be forgiven for thinking America’s rulers have taken leave of their senses. But what’s afoot isn’t insanity so much as a government-approved gold-rush. The “resource” these speculators are fighting over? The healthy bodies of American children.

Data show that “socially transitioned” children are far more likely to go on to medical interventions. And perhaps this is the point: After all, transgender is big business. Gender-transition surgery can cost upward of $100,000. The US gender-surgery market was valued in 2021 at $1.9 billion, with predicted annual growth of more than 10%. And when hormone therapy costs $1,500 a year, for the rest of a patient’s life, no wonder entrepreneurial medics want kids on the treatment treadmill as young as possible. Clinics are popping up like mushrooms to take advantage of this new business opportunity: The first American pediatric gender clinic opened in 2007, and there are now more than 50 nationwide. Christian in Flag Fight Receives Broad Support, Including ACLU

A Christian who brought a fight to the city of Boston for arbitrarily banning the Christian flag from a public forum flagpole at city hall there is getting support from the U.S., from a long list of states, and even the ACLU.

Liberty Counsel has brought the fight on behalf of Boston resident Hal Shurtleff and his Camp Constitution to the Supreme Court.

The issue is that the city designated one flagpole a public forum and let a long list of special interest groups fly their flags for special occasions. . .

But when Shurtleff requested permission to fly the Christian flag there, the city refused.

82-Year-Old Motorist Out to ‘Pick up a Turkey’ Ahead of Thanksgiving Gets Surrounded, Severely Beaten by ATV Gang

An 82-year-old man who’s daughter said was out to “pick up a turkey” was surrounded and severely beaten in Boston last week by an ATV and dirt bike gang that numbered between 30 and 40 riders, WCVB-TV reported. . .

State police told WCVB that the ATV/dirt bike gang was on Boylston Street near Fenway Park last Thursday around 7:30 p.m. when the victim noticed the gang approaching him.

The gang then forced the victim upon a curb when some of the bikers smashed the windows of the victim’s car, the station said. . .

“He was going to pick up a turkey. That’s all he was doing. A simple errand at 7:30 at night,” the victim’s daughter told WCVB. “You wouldn’t think that it would be a dangerous time for someone to be out.”

The daughter added to the station that her dad “wasn’t doing anything wrong. He’s simply traveling somewhere, and then he gets attacked, and it’s heartbreaking for us to know that it’s not safe for our 82-year-old father to be out by himself.
