Priest Says Hospital Asked Him To Consider Assisted Suicide Twice After Broken Hip

A Catholic priest said that while seeking treatment for a hip injury at a Canadian hospital, medical workers twice offered him the option of assisted suicide, despite knowing that he was religiously and morally opposed to the practice.

Fr. Larry Holland, 79, fractured his hip after falling in his bathroom on Christmas Day 2025 and subsequently went to Vancouver General Hospital to seek treatment for his injury, The B.C. Catholic, the official media outlet of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vancouver, first reported. However, despite the priest’s assertion that his condition is not and never was fatal, he says a doctor had raised the possibility of him taking his own life through Canada’s taxpayer-funded and government-run Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program in the event his injury worsened.

“I think I was very shocked. It is such a sensitive subject,” Holland told The B.C. Catholic about being given the option of MAiD, in an interview published Tuesday. “There are some things you just don’t talk about to some people.”

The priest told the outlet that the doctor said to him that MAiD is “something they have to discuss with someone who’s been given a terminal diagnosis.” Holland had at the time known made his moral opposition to euthanasia — which Catholic doctrine explicitly forbids.

After weeks passed, a nurse would also offer MAiD to Holland, he told The B.C. Catholic, adding that the nurse’s offer appeared to come out of a sense of “false compassion.” (Read more from “Priest Says Hospital Asked Him To Consider Assisted Suicide Twice After Broken Hip” HERE)

Lesbian Foster Moms Allegedly Tortured 12-Year-Old With Cold and Malnutrition Until He Died: ‘Shiver Shiver Dumb F–k’

A deranged Canadian couple allegedly laughed with each other about torturing their “hated” foster child to death, prosecutors claimed while delivering closing statements in an explosive murder trial.

Becky Hamber and Brandy Cooney, 46 and 44, sent each other sick text messages reading “shiver shiver dumb f–k” in the days before their 12-year-old foster child was found soaking wet, emaciated and unresponsive in their Ontario basement in December 2022, prosecutors showed during the trial.

The boy — known only as “LL” — was declared dead soon after that text, with authorities noting he was about the size of an average 6-year-old. He is believed to have died from hypothermia or cardiac arrest brought on by malnourishment, Law and Crime reported.

Cooney and Hamber also sent each other damning texts just a month before the boy died — messages prosecutors said indicated they knew they were harming him, and that they “hated” him.

“Unfortunately my thoughts [are] he is suddenly going to die and im going to jail,” Cooney alleged texted her wife. (Read more from “Lesbian Foster Moms Allegedly Tortured 12-Year-Old With Cold and Malnutrition Until He Died: ‘Shiver Shiver Dumb F–k’” HERE)

Canada Reportedly Set To Surpass 100,000 Assisted Suicides

Canada is closing in on 100,000 deaths through its government-assisted suicide program, a threshold no modern nation has reached.

The Euthanasia Prevention Coalition (EPC) estimates approximately 94,125 Canadians died through Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) from legalization through the end of 2025, LifeNews reported. The group projects the country will cross the six-figure mark by mid-to-late April 2026. Ontario alone recorded 5,303 MAID deaths in 2025, a 7.2% jump from the previous year, suggesting the pace is accelerating rather than leveling off.

Official government data backs that trajectory. Health Canada’s Sixth Annual Report confirmed 76,475 cumulative assisted suicide deaths through Dec. 31, 2024. The program took 16,499 lives that year, accounting for 5.1% of all Canadian deaths and a 6.9% increase over 2023.

Those figures dwarf every other country with legalized euthanasia. The United States recorded just 5,329 assisted suicide deaths across 23 years of state-level programs, according to the National Post. Belgium tallied 33,647 over two decades. Switzerland logged 8,738 in a similar span. Only the Netherlands posted a higher percentage of total deaths from euthanasia at 5.8%, but its smaller population yielded far fewer raw cases, 9,958 in 2024 compared to Canada’s 16,499.

Shocking report exposes terrifying reality of assisted suicide in Canada

Patients in Canada are having their lives ended by assisted suicide on the same day that they submit their paperwork requesting it, according to a shocking new report.

A total of 65 people died under the country’s Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD) program on the same day they applied for it in 2023 in Ontario, a report from the Chief Coroner of Ontario’s Medical Assistance in Dying Death Review Committee (MDRC) revealed.

A further 154 patients were helped by the state with ending their lives the day after the request was made, the report states.

In one shocking case, a woman in her 80s, only referred to as Mrs. B, had her life ended under the country’s euthanasia program despite withdrawing her request — when her husband and caregiver requested it again on her behalf. . .

Her spouse then requested another euthanasia assessment, which deemed Mrs. B eligible despite her expressed desire to opt for palliative care instead. (Read more from “Shocking report exposes terrifying reality of assisted suicide in Canada” HERE)

Transgender Dropout Who Killed Family, 6 at Former School Posted About Dream of Becoming ‘Petite’ Woman

The transgender high school dropout who slaughtered his mom and stepbrother before gunning down six others at his former school in Canada had whined online about his 6-foot-tall frame making it impossible to live out his dream as a “petite” woman.

Jesse Van Rootselaar, 18, aired his grievances about transitioning as well as his obsession for guns in a series of online posts in the years before unleashing hell at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School on Tuesday, the Telegraph reported.

“Do I have a good build type for HRT [hormone replacement therapy]?” Van Rootselaar wrote in a since-deleted post on a trans-community forum.

“Any advice is appreciated, should I put on weight or anything? Work out?”

In one post from March 2020, Van Rootselaar, who described himself as “MtF” — or male-to-female — wrote: “I’m pre-HRT 15yo, I’m super skinny, so that sometimes makes me feel kinda good!”

“But I’m Pre-HRT and my expectations are minimal for chest growth, and I’m 6ft tall! Why can’t I be petit an [sic] smol [small]?” (Read more from “Transgender Dropout Who Killed Family, 6 at Former School Posted About Dream of Becoming ‘Petite’ Woman” HERE)

Canadian Man Accused of Illegally Voting in North Carolina Elections for Over 20 Years

Federal prosecutors have charged a 69-year-old Canadian national with illegally voting in North Carolina elections, alleging that his participation in U.S. elections may stretch back more than two decades.

According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), Denis Bouchard, a Canadian citizen who has lived in the U.S. since the 1960s but never obtained American citizenship, is accused of falsely claiming to be a U.S. citizen on voter registration applications. Officials say he cast ballots in the 2022 midterm elections and the 2024 presidential election.

Prosecutors believe Bouchard’s involvement goes beyond those two contests, with suspicions that he has voted in local county elections in New Hanover and Pender counties since the early 2000s.

“Every single time a noncitizen casts an illegal vote in North Carolina, it steals and nullifies the vote of an actual citizen,” U.S. Attorney Ellis Boyle said in a statement. “If the records are correct, this Canadian citizen appears to have voted in New Hanover and Pender County elections over the past 20 years. We intend to prove his illegal conduct in court and put an end to it.”

The North Carolina Board of Elections is working with federal prosecutors as part of the ongoing investigation.

While cases of noncitizen voting are rare, they remain a flashpoint in debates over election integrity. Last year, Michigan officials charged a Chinese student with casting a ballot in the 2024 election. That case came to light only after the student reportedly contacted his local clerk’s office asking if he could retrieve his ballot; he left the country just before Donald Trump returned to office in January.

In May, the Trump administration expanded the program by integrating SAVE with the Social Security Administration’s records. State and local election officials can now use Social Security numbers to cross-check citizenship status, a move federal authorities say will help ensure only eligible U.S. citizens are able to vote.

Biblical Carving Discovered Near US Has Experts Wondering About Possible Link to Jesus’ Death

Archaeologists finally broke the cipher on 255 strange symbols etched into a Canadian rock over 200 years ago — and it’s the Lord’s Prayer… in Swedish.

Discovered in 2018 after a tree fell near Wawa, Ontario (just a stone’s throw from Michigan), the bizarre runes had stumped many — until Ryan Primrose from Ontario’s archaeology squad swooped in with the scoop.

After seven years of trying to decipher what the unusual carving symbolized, Primose finally learned that the etched symbols are part of an alphabet that was used in Scandinavia.

And the symbols translated to a 1611 Swedish version of The Lord’s Prayer, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

No other fancy artifacts showed up nearby, so Primrose figured the area where this carved rock lay most likely was treated as an outdoor chapel.

The slab also apparently looks like it was deliberately buried, adding a little extra mystery to the mix. (Read more from “Biblical Carving Discovered Near US Has Experts Wondering About Possible Link to Jesus’ Death” HERE)

Trump Offers Blunt, 3-Word Response After Canada’s New PM Says Country Is ‘Not for Sale’

President Trump had three little words for newly-elected Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney Tuesday after the commander in chief again said he wanted Canada to be America’s 51st state.

“I say, ‘Never say never,’” the 78-year-old said. “I’ve had many, many things that were not doable and ended up being doable.”

Trump was responding to Carney, 60, telling him that Canada is “not for sale” and that the Canadian view on becoming part of the US “is not going to change.”

“As you know from real estate, there are some places that are never for sale,” the Liberal PM said.

During a post-meeting news conference at the Canadian embassy, Carney said he had told Trump behind closed doors to “stop” publicly musing about annexing Canada — but did not reveal what the US president said in response.

“We are masters in our own home,” the prime minister added, “and we can give ourselves far more than any foreign government can ever take away.” (Read more from “Trump Offers Blunt, 3-Word Response After Canada’s New PM Says Country Is ‘Not for Sale’” HERE)

Politician In Canada Bends Knee To US, Apologizes To Americans

Ontario Premier Doug Ford apologized to Americans Tuesday after he suspended a 25% electricity surcharge that he initially said he would be “relentless” in pursuing.

Ford implemented a 25% surcharge on electricity to New York, Michigan and Minnesota on Monday, but quickly rescinded the policy and apologized to Americans on WABC’s “Cats & Cosby” radio show the following day. The tariffs were initially a retaliatory measure against President Donald Trump’s flurry of tariffs against Canada since he assumed office.

Canada is highly dependent on U.S. exports, economists told CNN, and the planned electricity surcharge would likely hurt Canada’s energy industry much more than it would the U.S., although an estimated 1.5 million homes and businesses would have been affected.

“I want to apologize to the American people. I spent 20 years of my life in the US, in New Jersey, in Chicago. I love the American people,” Ford said. “I absolutely love them … Secretary Lutnick and President Trump are brilliant businesspeople. They are hard negotiators. We need to put this behind us and move forward and build the two strongest countries in the world.” (Read more from “Politician In Canada Bends Knee To US, Apologizes To Americans” HERE)

Ontario Imposes 25% Tariffs on Electricity Exports to U.S. In Response to Trump Planned Tariffs

Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced that a 25 percent surcharge would be applied to electricity exports to the United States, in response to President Donald Trump’s planned tariffs on Canada and Mexico.

In a press release from the Office of the Premier, it was revealed that the 25 percent tariffs on electricity exports to the U.S. would begin on Monday, and that roughly “1.5 million homes and businesses” in states such as Minnesota, New York, and Michigan would be affected.

The surcharge is expected to “cost up to $400,000 every day” that it remains in effect, according to the press release.

“President Trump’s tariffs are a disaster for the U.S. economy,” Ford said in a statement. “They’re making life more expensive for American families and businesses. Until the threat of tariffs is gone for good, Ontario won’t back down. We’ll stand strong, use every tool in our toolkit and do whatever it takes to protect Ontario.”

In November 2024, Trump announced that he would impose 25 percent tariffs on all products into the U.S. from Canada and Mexico, adding that the tariffs would “remain in effect” until the countries addressed the flow of drugs, such as fentanyl and illegal aliens across the borders.
