Harvard Commencement Speaker Worked for Org Tied to China’s Military

Harvard’s 2025 commencement speaker, “Luanna” Yurong Jiang, worked for a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) entity with extensive ties to Beijing’s military and intelligence networks, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation discovered.

Jiang, who graduated from the Kennedy School on May 29 and appeared to take a swipe at the Trump administration during her speech, was a volunteer for the International Department of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) prior to attending Harvard between at least 2018 and 2022, according to a DCNF translation of Chinese state media. The organization is controlled by the CCP and has signed a cooperative agreement with a Chinese military arm, according to CBCGDF announcements.

Furthermore, CBCGDF also hosts a branch of a Chinese influence and intelligence service called the United Front Work Department (UFWD), to which many of its leaders belong, including its secretary-general who reportedly wrote a recommendation letter for Jiang to Harvard, according to a DCNF translation of Chinese state media.

“Harvard is one of the world’s greatest institutions, but we will have no choice but to end its existence if it continues to allow itself to be used by those seeking the destruction of our country,” Gordon Chang, author and China expert, told the DCNF.

China’s Tech Infiltration Poses an Urgent National Security Risk

Totalitarian regimes cannot tolerate criticism, and China is no exception. The Chinese Communist Party’s Great Firewall is not just about restricting information within its borders — it is a deliberate effort to suppress dissent worldwide.

Now, China has a new tool for repression: DeepSeek, an AI model built using U.S. chips. Weak export controls under the Biden administration allowed China to achieve an artificial intelligence breakthrough once thought to be years away.

Like TikTok, DeepSeek is poised to become a propaganda tool for the CCP. The model is already censoring content deemed a threat to “state power,” including references to Tiananmen Square, Hong Kong’s Umbrella Revolution, and even Winnie the Pooh. This level of content control — extending beyond information to influence minds — poses a direct and urgent threat to U.S. national security.

The Chinese Communist Party has repeatedly used technology to target U.S. interests. For years, Americans have downloaded TikTok, unaware that the app functions as Chinese spyware. This malware collects and shares user data with the CCP, tracking contacts, photos, search histories, and even keystrokes. As a result, Beijing has access to vast amounts of Americans’ metadata. From a national security standpoint, this is alarming. The CCP now holds data on military installations, population centers, and critical infrastructure — essentially a detailed map with targets marked.

Even more troubling are the cybersecurity risks uncovered in DeepSeek. An Epoch Times investigation found that DeepSeek stores user data on China-based servers. One company discovered the AI model transmits information to China Mobile, a state-owned telecom giant. A separate analysis by cybersecurity firm Wiz revealed that DeepSeek suffered a major data breach, exposing chat histories, secret keys, and other sensitive information. Chinese Communist Party Quietly Operates Shadow Justice System In US Cities

China is imposing its justice system on American soil using a web of U.S.-based nonprofits linked to a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) intelligence agency, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation found.

Located throughout California, the greater Washington, D.C. area, Hawaii, and New York, the network of more than a dozen nonprofits share information with Chinese law enforcement officials, and some also host unsanctioned courtrooms in the U.S., a months-long investigation discovered. Although the Chinese government claims it appoints law enforcement officials overseas in order to more conveniently handle mundane matters like Chinese driver’s license renewal and international divorce cases, U.S. lawmakers and intelligence analysts say China’s underground courts could easily be weaponized to punish dissidents and expand communist influence abroad.

Liu Pengyu, a Chinese Embassy spokesperson, told the DCNF that “Chinese law enforcement agencies conduct foreign law enforcement cooperation strictly in accordance with international law, fully respect foreign laws and judicial sovereignty, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of criminal suspects in accordance with the law.”

However, the DCNF found that not only are all the identified nonprofits led by individuals working with a Chinese intelligence service called the United Front Work Department (UFWD), but some of their leaders have also explicitly discussed forced repatriation operations with Ministry of Public Security (MPS) officials in China. Furthermore, several of the individuals appointed to operate overseas Chinese courts in the U.S. also belong to the nonprofit that ran a Chinese police station in New York, which the Department of Justice (DOJ) found sought to forcibly repatriate individuals back to China.

“The Chinese government’s attempt to impose its repressive legal system on U.S. soil through the CCP’s United Front network is an unacceptable assault on U.S. sovereignty and the rule of law,” Michigan Republican Rep. Trump Plans to Hammer China Buying American Farmland: ‘We Have to Have Control of Our Land’

Former President Donald Trump, the GOP nominee for president in this year’s election, told Breitbart News exclusively that on Monday in Pennsylvania, he intends to light up Chinese Communist Party (CCP) efforts to buy American farmland out from underneath the United States.

“We have to have control of our land,” Trump said in a nearly hour-long phone interview with Breitbart News on Sunday afternoon. “We have to have control of our economy. We have to have control of our borders. We have to make sure we’re in charge of our own country. We’re losing that with these people, these unbelievable so-called leaders we have. They’re allowing our country to be sold out from under us. We have to be very careful and we have to be very prudent. We can’t let this happen. Do you think China would let us go in and buy their land and do what they do? I don’t think so, okay. It won’t happen. So we have to be very careful.”

China and Chinese companies buying up land in the United States has been a rising concern for many years. The CCP and its affiliated entities have been buying up farmland from coast to coast, including near military bases. The issue cropped up big time in connection with the Chinese spy balloon that was first spotted over Montana and then flew across the entire country. Of course, while that happened, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris just allowed the CCP’s surveillance balloon to traverse the entire continental United States until Biden finally ordered the Air Force to shoot it down once it crossed over South Carolina off the coast into the Atlantic Ocean. Senators have been warning about this for years, including Trump’s running mate Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) and Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR).

Trump will appear alongside former Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) and former acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell in Pennsylvania on Monday at an event focused on stopping the CCP from acquiring American land. The event, organized by the Protecting America Initiative, will take place in Western Pennsylvania.

Dem Rep Frequently Met With Alleged Chinese Police Station Director Arrested by the FBI, Photos Show

New York Democratic Rep. Grace Meng frequently met and attended events with an alleged Chinese Communist Party (CCP) operative who was recently arrested by the FBI, according to photos and news reports reviewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Since 2016, Meng has attended multiple New York City events held by Chinese-American organizations to which Lu Jianwang, the suspected CCP operative, has belonged, according to photos and reports from multiple Chinese-language news sites. On April 17, the FBI arrested Lu Jianwang, the former “chairman” of the nonprofit America Changle Association, for allegedly “opening and operating an illegal overseas police station” within the nonprofit’s Manhattan headquarters.

Not only has Meng attended multiple events alongside Lu Jianwang, who also goes by Harry Lu, but the six-term congresswoman was also present at several key moments in America Changle’s history, photos and reports from multiple Chinese-language news sources reveal.

“While Congresswoman Meng has likely encountered him at local community events, she has no personal relationship with [Lu Jianwang], and was unaware of any allegations against him until last Monday’s news,” Meng’s press secretary told the DCNF. TikTok Whistleblower Says Chinese Communist Party Can Access American User Data

A former employee of the company that controls TikTok told Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) that members of the Chinese Communist Party can access data from American users of the social media platform.

The allegations occur as TikTok, which is owned by Chinese technology company ByteDance, faces scrutiny for national security concerns and reported data privacy breaches. Hawley said in a letter sent to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on Tuesday that employees, including members of the Chinese Communist Party who are on the company’s payroll, can allegedly switch between Chinese and American data with “nothing more than the click of a button.”

Workers allegedly use several proprietary software tools created in China that reduce foreign scrutiny and allow engineers to “insert software backdoors,” Hawley described on the basis of the unnamed whistleblower’s account. One such tool allegedly permits employees to access American data with the approval of a manager and a dataset owner.

“I have seen first-hand China-based engineers flipping over to non-China datasets and creating scheduled tasks to backup, aggregate, and analyze data,” the whistleblower told Hawley. “TikTok and ByteDance are functionally the same company. They use the same data analysis tools and chat apps, and managers are in constant contact.”

Hawley noted that TikTok has repeatedly claimed that members of the Chinese Communist Party cannot access American user data but said “it seems more and more likely that they do” with the new accusations about the company’s activities. The lawmaker cited an earlier report from Forbes which said ByteDance planned to track the location of specific American citizens. Biden’s CIA Director Employed Chinese Communist Party Members While Heading Elite DC Think Tank

Central Intelligence Agency Director William Burns formerly headed an influential D.C. think tank while it employed undisclosed Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members as well as individuals with Chinese government ties, the Daily Caller News Foundation has found.

During Burns’ tenure as president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace from February 2015 to November 2021, the think tank employed at least 20 policy experts whom the DCNF has identified as CCP members. These CCP members worked at both Carnegie’s Washington, D.C., headquarters and Carnegie-Tsinghua — the Beijing center Burns’ predecessor, Jessica Mathews, launched in 2010 in cooperation with Tsinghua University.

Yet, expert profiles on Carnegie’s website don’t disclose these individuals’ ties to the CCP. The DCNF only discovered their communist ties after analyzing hundreds of Chinese-language, Communist Party branch records and personnel profiles from more than a dozen CCP-linked organizations.

Burns’ tenure at Carnegie coincided with increased alarm from the FBI concerning the CCP conducting “malign influence operations” against key American institutions. In July 2020, FBI Director Christopher Wray warned that the CCP seeks to “influence our policymakers” and “manipulate our public opinion” by exploiting the “openness” of our society.
