WATCH: Chris Christie Says He’d Vote to Impeach Trump

Chris Christie believes that President Donald Trump deserves to be impeached and removed from office for his actions leading up to the riot at the U.S. Capitol building last Wednesday.

While appearing on ABC’s “This Week,” Christie said Trump’s actions were an “impeachable offense,” and urged Republicans to “vote their conscience.”

When asked by host George Stephanopoulos if he had a vote in Congress if he’d impeach the president, Christie responded, “If I think it’s an impeachable offense, that’s exactly what I would do.”

“But I’m not in there,” Christie said. “If you want my opinion, that’s my opinion.”

“I think if inciting to insurrection isn’t [an impeachable offense], I don’t really know what it is,” Christie told Stephanopoulos.

Chris Christie: Trump Legal Team Is a ‘National Embarrassment’ (VIDEO); Sidney Powell Releases Statement After Trump Legal Team Says She’s Not Part of Team

By Washington Examiner. Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie blasted the behavior of President Trump’s legal team.

During an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Christie said the conduct of Trump’s legal team has embarrassed the country, rebuking them for alleging a national voter fraud conspiracy on television but not making a voter fraud case in court.

“What’s happened here is, quite frankly, the conduct of the president’s legal team has been a national embarrassment,” Christie said. “Sidney Powell accusing Gov. Brian Kemp of a crime on television, yet being unwilling to go on TV and defend and lay out the evidence that she supposedly has. This is outrageous conduct by any lawyer. And notice, George, they won’t do it inside the courtroom. They allege fraud outside the courtroom, but when they go inside the courtroom, they don’t plead fraud, and they don’t argue fraud.”

Christie Calls Cruz ‘Disgusting’ for Telling ‘Reprehensible Lies’ Over Hurricane Relief

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie slammed Sen. Ted Cruz Wednesday morning over what he said was the Texas Republican’s double standard in opposing Superstorm Sandy relief but requesting federal aid for Texas after Hurricane Harvey.

“I have no sympathy for this — and I see Sen. Cruz and it’s disgusting to me that he stands in a recovery center with victims standing behind him as a backdrop,” he told CNN’s Chris Cuomo on “New Day.” “He’s still repeating the same reprehensible lies about what happened in Sandy (and) called on Congress Wednesday morning to work fast on a bill to aid Texas after Hurricane Harvey” . . .

“I’m sorry that there are politicians who are really desperate to get their names in the news and are saying whatever they need to do that,” Cruz said. “For folks who are focused on raising political shots and snipes about the Sandy bill, facts matter. And the fact is that the Sandy bill was over $50 billion and 70% of it was not emergency funding. Only 30% of the funding was emergency funding”. . .

[Christie responded], “Let me be very clear about this: Sen. Cruz was playing politics in 2012, trying to make himself look like the biggest conservative in the world. . . And what I said at the time, both to him and everybody else, was if you represent a coastal state, don’t do this because your day is going to come and you’re going to expect people to help you.” (Read more from “Christie Calls Cruz ‘Disgusting’ for Telling ‘Reprehensible Lies’ Over Hurricane Relief” HERE)

New Jersey Governor Issues a State of Emergency Executive Order

In an attempt to shield those living in the Garden State from the problems their government created, the governor, Chris Christie, has now signed an executive order issuing a “state of emergency.” As speculation grows that New Jersey will soon follow in Illinois’ footsteps, the government is proving forecasters correct by their inability to pass a constitutionally mandated budget.

Not only did New Jersey’s inability to pass a budget shut down the government (but not really, don’t worry, you’ll still be taxed and welfare checks will still go out) but it scared Christie enough to sign a state of emergency executive order.

New Jersey’s economic stability is in a dire state, and they appear to be continuing to make the same mistakes as Illinois. But according to nj.com, the conflict in the legislature and subsequent budget standstill is about the finances of not-for-profit Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield, the state’s largest health insurer. The state Senate passed a bill that allows the state government to control how much Horizon keeps in its surplus fund before it must contribute to a public health fund.

The government doesn’t seem to want to tackle to problems they created, they only seek to tighten the economic hold they have on companies and individuals through taxation and regulations. And the government never tries taxing less and spending less, they only want more power, which is funded by more theft, and control through entitlement programs.

Moody’s is even warning that it’s the high taxation and political promises that are sinking states.

“Tax rate increases, such as the ‘millionaires’ tax’ implemented in prior administrations, could bridge some of the gap, but may be politically challenging in this already high-tax state. Closing the entire $3.6 billion gap with revenue-side solutions alone appears unlikely,” analysts said. Gubernatorial candidates seeking to replace Gov. Chris Christie have proposed bringing back variations of the millionaire’s tax. But the size of the future deficit is so large, Moody’s said, “it unlikely that a sufficient tax increase would be politically feasible.” Finding enough cuts, too, would be “highly challenging,” the agency said, adding even slashing employee health benefits would fall short in the long term. –NJ.com

The dollar is collapsing all over in states which exhibit massive amounts of control over their populations. Preparing for the looming economic crisis that will impact all of us is important, and experts are suggesting an investment in metals. Barter systems may take over in the event that entire state economies collapse making precious metals a viable currency when the dollar becomes useful only as toilet paper.

Infighting between Republicans and Democrats is getting the constant blame for the economic troubles facing New Jersey, but the real problem is much more simple. The entire government and the system they operate under is the problem. The infighting is merely a symptom which masks the bigger issue of too much government. And preppers in volatile states like New Jersey aren’t taking any chances right now. (For more from the author of “New Jersey Governor Issues a State of Emergency Executive Order” please click HERE)

NJ Gov. Chris Christie Wants Government to Fix Your Airline Problems by Making Everything More Expensive

In the wake of the controversy surrounding United Airlines’ forcible ejection of a passenger in order to make room for four employees, America’s most unpopular governor, Gov. Chris Christie, R-N.J., is demanding government take action to inconvenience everyone else who flies on planes as well.

On April 9, four passengers were asked to give up their seats on a full United Airlines flight from Chicago to Kentucky to make room for off-duty airline employees who were needed in Louisville the next day. Three passengers went peacefully and one did not. The man who refused to leave the plane created a social media firestorm after video of him being forcibly dragged out and injured surfaced.

The video has caused national shock and outrage, with many — including Gov. Christie — demanding action be taken against United Airlines. The action the governor favors, of course, is government action.

Appearing on Fox News Wednesday, Christie made the case that the Trump administration should stop the practice of airline overbooking.

“They kicked those people off … to make money and they’re doing it with the permission of the federal government,” Christie said. “So what I’m saying to the administration is, stop them from doing it.”

To that end, Governor Christie sent a letter Tuesday to Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao declaring that New Jersey will look for ways to stop overbooking. The letter also demanded the federal government begin issuing regulations to stop the practice.

“The recent conduct of United Airlines personnel has shined a bright light on an issue which the president’s announced regulatory reform could target and benefit travelers all across America,” Christie wrote.

Of course, President Trump wants to repeal regulations. Gov. Christie is arguing for the implementation of a new regulation. In his letter, he called the legal airline practice of overbooking “unconscionable,” insisting that the administration put a stop to the practice.

“The lives of traveling New Jerseyans are being affected every day by the abusive use of this practice,” Christie wrote. “We need this administration to stand up for our traveling Americans. We need to put it to a stop.”

The U.S. Department of Transportation website explains that airlines overbook their scheduled flights to compensate for “no shows.” A flight booked with empty seats is a flight that wastes money, and airlines simply have not been profitable enough in the past to absorb that cost. Christie’s idea is to force airlines to schedule unprofitable flights in the name of protecting consumers, potentially inflicting costs on these companies which they will pass to consumers in the form of more expensive airline tickets and higher airline fees.

The government already mandates consumer protections that require any airline that involuntarily removes passengers to compensate the passengers removed. United Airlines attempted to do this, offering up to $1,000 in flight vouchers for anyone inconvenienced. The price, however, was not raised high enough to entice their customers to get off the plane voluntarily.

The public outrage at United has already forced two apologies from the airline and from its CEO. The man injured while being dragged off the plane likely has a sizeable lawsuit in the works against the airline. And United’s competitors are already taking advantage of their damaged reputation to offer better customer service.

In other words, the free market is already working to correct the customer abuses Chris Christie wants government to fix. And the government solution Christie proposes would further inconvenience every commercial flyer in the nation.

Which is typical for a government “solution.” (For more from the author of “NJ Gov. Chris Christie Wants Government to Fix Your Airline Problems by Making Everything More Expensive” please click HERE)

Chris Christie’s Bizarre Love Affair With Radical Islam

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s nomination of Sohail Mohammed to be a state judge shows the governor’s tin ear for radical Islam. Not only did he appoint a longtime mouthpiece for radical Islamists to be a judge, but Christie has also turned a blind eye to the activities of one of Mohammed’s clients – radical imam Mohammed Qatanani, head of one of New Jersey’s largest mosques.

Qatanani has a history of Hamas support and was related by marriage to a leading Hamas operative in the West Bank. This fall, Qatanani will return to a New Jersey immigration court, where the Department of Homeland Security is fighting to have him deported. In his initial application for a green card filed in 1999, government lawyers say Qatanani failed to disclose a conviction in an Israeli military court for being a Hamas member and providing support to the terrorist group.

Oddly, Christie – a Republican who was then the U.S. Attorney for New Jersey – sided with Qatanani against DHS, allowing a top lieutenant, Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles McKenna, to testify as a character witness at Qatanani’s first immigration trial, and publicly embracing the imam at a Ramadan breakfast at his mosque. Christie later appointed McKenna as New Jersey’s head of homeland security..

As general counsel to the American Muslim Union (AMU), Mohammed often represented clients subject to government allegations concerning terrorists. The AMU often is highly critical of U.S. counter-terrorism efforts.

One online newsletter even included a claim that a “Zionist commando orchestrated the 9/11 terrorist attacks” and shows support for a “Rabbi” from the extremist Jewish organization Neturei Karta, which denies the right of Israel to exist and supports its dismantling.

The AMU has criticized some of the response to the September 11 attacks, especially regarding the PATRIOT Act. Explaining why the AMU had become more politically active and was holding voter registration drives, one employee of AMU said: “Right now, the Patriot Act—basically it’s unconstitutional…I believe it targets Muslims unfairly. If someone’s going to come out with a bill that’s discriminatory, I’m not going to vote for them.”

As general counsel, Mohammed bucked several high-profile terror support prosecutions. After authorities shut down the Holy Land Foundation near Dallas for alleged Hamas support in 2001, Mohammed told the Record of Bergen County, N.J., that the government was unjustly singling out Muslim organizations.”People see this as another example of how heavy-handed the administration has been thus far,” he said.

The move was newsworthy in New Jersey because an HLF officer, Mohammed El-Mezain, preceded Qatanani as imam of the Islamic Center of Passaic County. El-Mezain and four fellow defendants were convicted of illegally routing millions of dollars to Hamas in 2008.

During a lecture given a year earlier, Qatanani included the HLF defendants in a prayer for relief from oppression. “Oh Allah assist our brothers and sisters in Philistine [Palestine], and Iraq and Chechnya,” he said. “O Allah remove occupation and oppression and o Allah improve the matters of our community … to assist our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land Foundation, ask oh Allah … to assist them and to remove the difficulty that they have been inflicted with all of the brothers and sisters in this country, oh Allah to prove them non-guilty.”

Additionally, Mohammed publicly defended Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative Sami Al-Arian following a 2003 indictment which alleged he was a North American leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Appearing on MSNBC, Mohammed criticized the fact that it took years of investigation before the indictment was issued. “It all points out to the distrust that the Muslim community have, which is this is nothing but a witch-hunt,” he said. “This is nothing but a politically motivated indictment, and all you are waiting for is the right opportunity to indict the person, the climate is right.”

Al-Arian, a longtime professor at the University of South Florida, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to provide goods and services to the PIJ. In sentencing him, a federal judge said the evidence made it clear he was “a leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. You were on the board of directors and an officer, the secretary. Directors control the actions of an organization, even the PIJ; and you were an active leader.”

In addition to defending accused terrorists, Mohammed is defensive about acknowledging their motivations. He was critical of a case brought by Christie’s office when the governor was U.S. Attorney. The Fort Dix defendants were accused, and later convicted, of plotting a mass casualty attack on the New Jersey military base as an act of jihad. Dix. Mohammed objected to the use of the phrase “Islamic militants” in the government’s case.

“Don’t equate actions with religion,” he said.

Then there’s this exchange with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews about two months after 9/11. Mohammed bristled at Matthews’ reference to the “Islamic terrorists” behind the attacks:

MATTHEWS: What else do they have in common, the people who blew up the World Trade Center and attacked the Pentagon? What else do they have in common?

MOHAMMED: All male.

MATTHEWS: Keep going.

If you’re a policeman, you have got to use your brain here. What else do they have in common? They all come from Middle Eastern countries. They’re all Islamic zealots.

MOHAMMED: Well, you cannot call them — and anybody who professes or who says that he believes in a religion, a peaceful religion, cannot take the banner and crash a plane, and you blame every single person who follows this faith.

Even while fighting to stay in the country, Mohammed’s former client, Qatanani, has participated in radical rallies and programs. During a rally in New York last March, demonstrators repeated a chant that subtly calls for Israel’s destruction. “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

It’s a familiar chant at pro-Palestinian rallies. A Palestinian state stretching from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea would cover all of what is now the state of Israel. In his remarks, which came after the chant, Qatanani expressed his agreement.

“Palestine will be free one day,” he told the rally. “And we will see it very soon by your actions, by your standing for justice, justice, freedom, the liberation of the land will be very soon.”

Just before the 2008 ruling in Qatanani’s favor was issued, and while he was still the U.S. attorney, Christie praised the imam at a Ramadan breakfast held at Qatanani’s mosque. “My view is he’s always had a very good relationship with us, and he’s a man of great goodwill,” Christie said, reportedly embracing him.

The U.S. Attorney’s office was not a party to the case, Christie said, and his praise for Qatanani was not meant to be “a commentary on the dispute between the imam and DHS” but after 9/11, he found the imam “to be a constructive force in attempting to strengthen our relations with that community.”

During the original immigration trial, one of Christie’s assistant U.S. attorneys, Charles B. McKenna, testified as a character witness for Qatanani. In his ruling, Immigration Court Judge Alberto Riefkohl said he was particularly impressed by “law enforcement officers that took time from their respective duties to appear before the Court” on Qatanani’s behalf. Other supportive testimony came from the sheriffs of Bergen and Passaic counties and U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, D-Paterson.

Qatanani’s visa application was prepared by Mohammed’s law firm and Mohammed sat with his client during an interview with DHS and FBI agents in 2005, immigration court records show. “QATANANI advised that he trusted his attorney, Sohail Mohammed, so he signed the I-485 form.”

During the interview, Qatanani admitted having spent three months in an Israeli prison but he did not disclose that on his application for permanent residency. He also admitted being in the Muslim Brotherhood, but said he left the group in 1991 when working and going to school while raising a family left him with no time.

The Muslim Brotherhood is a global religious and political movement that seeks to spread Islamic law. In a 1991 document, a member of the American branch explained that the group’s goal was ” a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

An immigration judge ruled in Qatanani’s favor in September 2008, saying the Israeli government documents and the testimony of U.S. law enforcement officials were not credible. However, the Board of Immigration Appeals sent the case back to the original judge in October 2009, finding that Judge Riefkohl committed a series of errors in downplaying the Israeli evidence and the agents’ testimonies. The appellate panel found that the Israeli evidence was “properly authenticated and that there was no adequate basis for the Immigration Judge to give them ‘very low evidentiary weight.”

The judge’s assessment of the law enforcement agents’ testimony was “clearly erroneous,” the board’s decision said.

In his original immigration trial, government attorneys presented Israeli court records showing Qatanani was convicted by an Israeli court in 1993 of being a Hamas member and of providing support to the terrorist group.

When he applied for a new visa, Qatanani marked “no” to questions about whether he had ever been “arrested, cited, charged, indicted, fined, or imprisoned for breaking or violating any law or ordinance” in other countries.

“An alien who has provided material support to a terrorist organization is inadmissible to the United States,” government attorneys wrote. “Therefore, by answering the questions in the negative, the respondent cut-off a line of inquiry relevant to his eligibility for adjustment of status.”

Immigration officials have successfully used similar misrepresentations to deport people tied to terrorist groups.

Christie’s support for Islamists such as Qatanani and Mohammed betrays either naivete or calculation. Either is troubling. (For more from the author of “Chris Christie’s Bizarre Love Affair With Radical Islam” please click HERE)

Trump Gives Christie Major Role in Planning for a Trump Administration

Presumed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump announced this earlier in the week. that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will lay the foundation for a potential Trump administration by leading Trump’s transition team.

The team’s goal is to ensure that when the Obama administration leaves office in January, his successor’s administration is fully operational.

” … it is really important that Trump has publicly named a transition chairman,” said Max Stier, who is chairman of the Partnership for Public Service. “Trump is demonstrating his understanding that he needs to prepare for the possibility that he will be governing at the same time as he is trying to win the campaign.”

Trump said in a statement, “Governor Christie is an extremely knowledgeable and loyal person with the tools and resources to put together an unparalleled transition team, one that will be prepared to take over the White House when we win in November.”

“I am grateful to Governor Christie for his contributions to this movement,” he said.

According to the statement, Christie would be “overseeing an extensive team of professionals preparing to take over the White House, and all that entails.”

“I am honored by the confidence being placed in me by Mr. Trump and look forward to putting together a first-rate team to assemble an administration to help best serve the president-elect and the nation,” Christie said.

Stier suggested that Christie would not be able to serve as Trump’s running mate or take on an active, full-time campaign role because of the time needed to devote to the transition team.

Christie, who had originally sought the GOP nomination, endorsed Trump after his campaign faltered.

The Washington Post noted Christie has been “a key adviser … behind the scenes.” It also noted that his selection as the transition team leader give Christie “influence in the selection of White House and administration staff and in the development of a president-elect’s first steps.” (For more from the author of “Trump Gives Christie Major Role in Planning for a Trump Administration” please click HERE)

Chris Christie Says He’s a Straight Shooter – That’s a Lie [+video]

By Jim Newell. Gov. Chris Christie’s presidential campaign bets big on straightforwardness, or “telling it like it is.” During Thursday night’s debate, the Christie press operation sent out one press release after another highlighting how Christie was “telling it like it is” on any given subject he happened to be addressing: “Telling It Like It Is On America’s Role In The World,” “Telling It Like It Is On Entitlements,” “Telling It Like It Is On Criminal Justice Reform.” He’s the tough dad who’s going to make you eat the meatloaf your mother put so much effort into cooking, damnit, unless you want to be sent to bed early. He will talk about difficult things, like cutting Medicare and Social Security, and you won’t like it, but the sheer force of his honest appraisals of the fiscal outlook will necessitate your submission.

The problem with this self-presentation is that Christie, right now, may be the least honest candidate in the race.

Christie is an exceptional performer. But as he’s risen in New Hampshire polls, he’s made himself a target for his fellow “establishment” rivals, each of whom is jockeying for that third ticket out of the Granite State. During the past couple of weeks, Christie rivals such as Sen. Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush have made hay over some of the more moderate positions Christie has taken to fuel his rise as a Republican leader in a blue state. Christie’s responses have either been to obfuscate or, as he did Thursday night before millions of viewers, claim that he did not do what the public record makes clear he absolutely did, over and over. Christie’s natural skills as a debater kept him afloat, but his mischaracterizations about his past will do far more damage in the long run—to whatever extent there is a long run for Christie’s presidential campaign. Fact Check: Is Common Core “Eliminated” in New Jersey?

By Reena Flores. During Thursday night’s Republican debate in South Carolina, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was attacked on several fronts for an allegedly left-leaning past, including his supposed support for Common Core education standards, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, and Planned Parenthood.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio called out his rival for propping up Common Core, the reading and math standards implemented in 42 states, plus the District of Columbia, and widely reviled by conservatives as acts of federal overreach . . .

Christie refuted that: “Common Core has been eliminated in New Jersey” . . .

In May, the governor asked New Jersey’s department of education to review the implementation of Common Core in the state’s school system.

But according to NJ.com, earlier this week, the panel charged with reviewing the standards recommended that 84 percent of them remain in place, with slight revisions to the rest. Common Core, the news site reported, does “still have a place in New Jersey classrooms.” (Read more from “Fact Check: Is Common Core “Eliminated” in New Jersey?” HERE)

Senate Overrides Christie’s Veto of Gun Control Bill

The New Jersey Senate voted on Thursday to override Gov. Chris Christie’s veto of a gun control bill, the first time state lawmakers had mustered enough votes in more than 50 attempts at undoing one of his vetoes.

An override, which still must pass the State Assembly, would dilute one of the claims Mr. Christie has repeatedly made while campaigning for the Republican presidential nomination — that he has managed without fail to hold his party together in the State House. Democrats control both branches of the Legislature, but they need help from Republicans to override one of Mr. Christie’s vetoes.

The governor said in a debate with other Republicans running for president that he had “vetoed 400 bills from a crazy liberal Democratic Legislature” and pointed with pride to the failure of every challenge. But his string of successes at thwarting lawmakers came to an end on Thursday when three Republican sponsors of the bill joined the Democrats in voting to override.

“It’s presidential politics,” said the Senate president, Stephen M. Sweeney, a Democrat from Gloucester County who is considered a probable candidate for governor in 2017. “The only person that objected to this bill was the governor.”

Mr. Sweeney said he believed Mr. Christie was playing to conservative voters in states with early primaries by refusing to put his name to a law that could be cited as a restriction of the right to bear arms. But the bill was really about mental health, not gun ownership, the senator said. (Read more from “Senate Overrides Christie’s Veto of Gun Control Bill” HERE)

WATCH: Christie Defends Appointment of Muslim Judge at RJC Meeting

Speaking at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s meeting in Las Vegas on Saturday, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie responded calmly, but strongly, to a question about Sharia Law, taking the occasion to address lingering concerns about a Muslim judge he appointed in 2011.

“Sohail Mohammed knows as much about jihad as I do, being an Irish-American kid from Newark, New Jersey,” Christie said of the Indian-American judge who immigrated to America as a child. “It is ridiculous and insulting, that because I nominated Sohail Mohammed — that people some how think that means I’m for Sharia Law. It’s crap,” he said to applause. “And I will not ever apologize for making him a judge — in fact, I’m proud of it.”
