Christians Slaughtered in Midnight Church Attack

A horrifying new wave of violence has shaken the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as Islamist militants stormed a Christian church and hacked worshippers to death with machetes while they prayed for peace.

The United Nations reports that at least 49 people, including nine children, were brutally killed during the attack, which took place at 1 a.m. last Sunday in the eastern town of Komanda. According to local sources, the congregation was gathered for an all-night vigil when members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) — a rebel group tied to ISIS — stormed the church, mercilessly attacking everyone inside. Nearby homes were also set ablaze, and several villagers were abducted.

Global Condemnation

The atrocity has sparked worldwide condemnation. A spokesperson for the U.S. State Department called the massacre a “cowardly act of violence against Christians in their place of worship,” adding, “The United States designated the ADF, also known as ISIS-DRC, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization in 2021. We strongly condemn this attack on innocent civilians.”

The United Nations’ stabilization mission in the region, MONUSCO, called the attack a “heinous act” and a serious violation of human rights and international law.

According to Illia Djadi, a senior researcher for Christian charity Open Doors, the attack is part of a broader strategy by the ADF to terrorize and destabilize Christian-majority regions of the DRC.

“The ADF have a very clear aim: they want to turn a large part of DRC into an Islamic caliphate, like the horrific one instigated in Iraq and Syria in 2014 by Islamic State,” Djadi said.

In an interview on Tuesday, Djadi warned that sub-Saharan Africa has become the “new epicenter of jihadism,” with Islamic State-affiliated groups expanding their reach. Christians make up an estimated 80–95% of the population in the DRC, making them frequent targets.

A Pattern of Bloodshed

This is far from the first time Christians in the DRC have been targeted. In February, 70 Christians were reportedly beheaded during a church massacre. The violence is even worse in neighboring Nigeria, where Pope Leo XIV recently lamented the “extraordinary cruelty” of attacks that killed around 200 people in a single incident in June.

According to Open Doors International’s 2025 World Watch List, 3,100 of the 4,476 Christians killed worldwide in the latest reporting period were in Nigeria alone — a staggering 69% of all recorded Christian deaths.

Despite a peace initiative spearheaded by President Donald Trump between the DRC and Rwanda, attacks have continued in eastern Congo. The government is focused on combating the M23 rebel group in urban areas, leaving rural Christian villages like Komanda exposed to ADF brutality.

Christian Allegedly Fired for Wearing Bible-Themed Shirts in Pride Month

A settlement has been reached after a man in Scott County, Iowa, accused his former employer of firing him for wearing Christian-themed T-shirts to counter its alliance with the LGBTQ agenda.

Cosby “Corey” Cunningham sued Eaton Corp. after it endorsed so-called “Pride Month,” which ramps up throughout the month of June, the Iowa Capital Dispatch reported Thursday.

He sued the global power management company in June 2024 and alleged it had violated his civil rights over the matter.

Cunningham, who is a Christian, decided to take action when Eaton initiated a ceremony recognizing “Pride Month” in early June 2023, per the lawsuit.

The company reportedly erected a pride flag, encouraged staff to wear certain colors, and offered pride-themed shirts for them to buy. (Read more from “Christian Allegedly Fired for Wearing Bible-Themed Shirts in Pride Month” HERE)

Is This Noah’s Ark? Clues Emerge at Mysterious Remote Site

An independent researcher who has devoted his time to exploring a location near Mount Ararat that is believed by some to be the remains of Noah’s ark is speaking out.

Andrew Jones, who runs Noah’s Ark Scans, a group he described as “a loose organization of individuals interested in pursuing scientific work and promoting [the ark site],” said he became interested in the Genesis flood story when he was a child.

Years later, in college, this intrigue expanded when he visited Turkey and saw the location for himself. . .

JJones said Noah’s Ark Scans works with scientists to explore the Mount Ararat site in an effort to take steps toward discerning whether it truly is the resting place of the massive biblical vessel.

“This last year, we had an Australian soil scientist come out there, and he suggested a soil test that we could do because we noticed, for example, that the grass growing in this boat formation was a different color than right outside the boat object,” he said. “So [he] and the local Turkish geologists designed a test, and they got the samples, and we got some … really interesting results.”

One of the central questions surrounding the ark site is why, if it’s believed to potentially hold these remains, it has taken so long to do discernible and definitive research.

Buddhist Monk-Turned-Pastor Describes Visiting Hell After Suicide Attempt: ‘Worse Than Death’

A Buddhist monk-turned-Evangelical pastor has opened up about briefly experiencing Hell during a near death experience, describing it as a barren wasteland full of giant demons, “agony” and “fear.”

In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Steve Kang revealed he had a face-to-face experience with the supernatural after a suicide attempt left him hovering between life and death, an ordeal he described as an eight-hour descent into a dark, torturous realm he believes was Hell.

“It’s not a place you want to go,” Kang said. “I almost feel like I don’t even want Kim Jong-il or Hitler to go there. I don’t want my worst enemies to go there.”

In September 1998, while battling substance abuse and plagued by what he believed was demonic possession, Kang attempted to take his life by slitting his neck and stomach. As surgeons worked frantically to repair the damage at a hospital in California, Kang said his spirit was plunged into what he could only describe as Hell.

“There was no light,” he said. “There [were] no plants. I don’t remember seeing even an ounce of grass. It was just like rocky floor. There’s cliffs everywhere, and they look like purplish red, just not a pleasant color. You look up, and it’s just dark. Just imagine a very dark night without the moon.”

The 20-minute experience, which doctors later told him lasted roughly eight hours in real time, left an indelible mark on Kang, who described a barren and agonizing landscape filled with lost souls and monstrous demons. Progressives Abandon Christianity, Become Episcopalian

I believe that America’s core ideals are very much linked to its Christian faith. So as Easter has just passed, I thought this would be a good time to take a closer look at the state of the American church and then weep quietly and say it was a great country while it lasted.

Now, according to a Pew poll, 62% of Americans identify as Christian. This is a slight drop from the 1697 poll which showed 99.9% of Americans were Christian with one heretic hiding in the woods hoping some long-haired guy with a buckle on his hat wouldn’t blow his head off with a blunderbuss.

But today’s religious landscape looks different depending on political affiliation. For instance, on the political Left, 43% of those who identify as progressives say they have abandoned Christianity and become Episcopalians. Fourteen percent of progressives say they have renounced the corrupt beliefs of colonizing white men, have returned to the innocent and beautiful natural religion of indigenous peoples, and were preparing to sacrifice a virgin to the volcano God until they realized that by the time they were sure she was a virgin, she wasn’t a virgin anymore, and if they threw her into a volcano there’d be no one left who knew how to make breakfast. The Gospels Say Jesus Crucified in Jerusalem: Why Does Revelation Say Sodom and Egypt?

It’s no secret to millions of Christians that Jesus was put to death in Jerusalem, according to the New Testament gospels.

But many often wonder about a cryptic statement at the end of the Bible indicating He was crucified in “Sodom and Egypt,” two other locations, neither of which is Jerusalem.

How can this be? Is the Bible somehow being inconsistent with itself? . . .

“There is a very simple answer to this which reveals Scripture is completely true and consistent,” says Joe Kovacs, author of the inspiring book, “Reaching God Speed: Unlocking the Secret Broadcast Revealing the Mystery of Everything.”

“We all need to realize the Word of God is not always broadcasting on the physical, human level. It’s often airing its message on a higher level, often called the parable or spiritual level. It’s the method in which Jesus exclusively spoke.”

Scripture notes: “Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable.” (Matthew 13:34 NIV)

“So in addition to the physical meaning, there’s that higher parable meaning as well. I call it ‘God speed,’ as we’re all getting up to speed on the way God thinks, operates and broadcasts His glorious message,” Kovacs explains. The Decline Of American Christianity Might Have Stalled. Will It Reverse?

In 1897, the famous author Mark Twain, in response to an article reporting he was on his deathbed, wrote to the paper: “The report of my death was an exaggeration.” The young reporter who erroneously declared Twain’s demise confused Twain with an ill cousin, jumping to a conclusion before thoroughly checking out the facts.

Twain’s words came to mind as I read about the recent Pew Research Center Religious Landscape survey showing the decline of American Christianity has stabilized. Pew finds that the percentage of American adults identifying as Christian remained at 62 to 63 percent (with an 0.8 percentage point of error) over the past couple of years.

In many ways, those who have been reporting on the demise of American Christianity have been doing the same thing as the young reporter who hastened the news of Twain’s demise. In their eagerness to conclude American Christianity is dying, they have missed what may be happening.

Instead, the number of Americans who identify as Christians has stabilized after years of decline and hopefully has turned a corner and will return to being a vital part of our national tapestry. Still, it is also important to note that many who identify as Christians are not adhering to the core beliefs of the faith.

For them, their faith is still based on nostalgia rather than Christ’s revelation in the Bible. In fact, most of the decline of American Christianity is within mainline Protestant denominations that have become increasingly leftist in their beliefs. Those denominations that have abandoned biblical truth continue to shrivel and die, while the decline among evangelicals, who generally lean less to the left, is slower. New Evidence Supports Noah’s Ark as Boat-Shaped Formation, Dates Back to Biblical Floods

By New York Post. . . .Researchers have found that a boat-shaped mound — long believed by the faithful to be Noah’s Ark — was most likely submerged under water during a devastating flood some 5,000 years ago, The Jerusalem Post reported.

The international team of experts has been working together since 2021 to study the Durupinar Formation, which they believe could be the site of a massive preserved vessel.

The 538-foot geological structure, composed of limonite — an ore of iron — is located approximately 20 miles south of Mount Ararat’s summit, in Turkey near the Iranian border in the Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı.

This formation has interested experts for decades due to its ship-like shape and dimensions, similar to the biblical description of Noah’s Ark and Mount Ararat’s mention in religious texts.

According to the Bible, the dimensions of the vessel were “a length of three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits,” mirroring those of the Durupinar formation, “and the ark rested … upon the mountains of Ararat.” (Read more from “New Evidence Supports Noah’s Ark as Boat-Shaped Formation Dates Back to Biblical Floods” HERE)

Astonishing New Marine Evidence Found at “Noah’s Ark” Site, Dates to Bible’s Biblical Floods

By Arezki Amiri. [A] team analyzing soil and rock samples from the Durupinar formation, a 538-foot geological structure near the Turkey-Iran border, has found traces of marine deposits, clay-like materials, and even remnants of seafood, sparking renewed debate about the biblical flood.

For decades, speculation has surrounded the Durupinar site, with some researchers arguing that its shape and dimensions match those described in biblical texts. But it wasn’t until recently that new scientific findings emerged. The samples collected from the site were sent to a laboratory in Istanbul, where tests revealed the presence of organic materials consistent with an ancient water-covered environment.

Among the most astonishing discoveries? Mollusc remains, indicating that this region—now a mountainous landscape—may have once been submerged. If Noah’s Ark truly existed, even the smallest creatures would have had a spot aboard, making the discovery of molluscs a particularly intriguing detail.

One of the biggest challenges in proving Noah’s Ark’s existence is finding scientific evidence that aligns with historical records. According to Genesis, the Great Flood occurred around 3300 BC.

The latest analysis of the materials found at the Durupinar formation suggests they date back between 3500 and 5000 years, placing them within the Chalcolithic period, an era in which ancient civilizations were beginning to develop advanced tools and settlements. Rick Warren’s Political Interpretation of Crucifixion Draws Christians’ Ire: ‘Embarrassing’

Saddleback Church founder and former senior pastor Rick Warren drew scorn on social media for implying that Jesus Christ would be a political centrist today because He was crucified between two thieves.

“‘They crucified Jesus with two others — one on each side & Jesus in the middle,” Warren tweeted Tuesday, quoting John 19:18. “The guys on both sides were thieves. If you’re looking for the #realJesus, not a caricature disfigured by partisan motivations, you’ll find him in the middle, not on either side.”

Several prominent Christian voices on X took the bestselling author of The Purpose Driven Life to task for what they deemed a questionable application of the biblical text.

“If you’re going to misuse the story this bad, you should also point out that the thief on the Right is the one that went to heaven lol,” tweeted Babylon Bee managing editor Joel Berry.

Justin Peters, who heads a worldwide expository preaching and teaching ministry, rebuked Warren for what he characterized as sloppy biblical interpretation.

Christians Who Opposed Trump Should Examine Their Hearts After His Week Of Big Biblical Wins

Only 10 days into President Donald Trump’s second term it’s abundantly clear that Christians who opposed his presence in the White House and condemned their brethren for supporting it have some repenting to do.

Never Trumpers spent the last decade weaponizing their faith to demonize Christian Trump supporters. By the time the 2024 election rolled around, they had proudly endorsed the radical, openly anti-Christian Joe Biden stand-in for president. According to them, mean tweets and a bad spray tan were far worse than a regime that made a point out of throwing praying grandmas in prison.

Concerns about Trump’s personal conduct 10 years into his entrance to American politics are simply not a legitimate reason to oppose his presidency — especially when juxtaposed with the Biblical wins his presidential actions have brought. Pretending that his penchant for off-the-cuff commentary and history of failed marriages are disqualifying was always a bad argument because most politicians, especially the Biden and Harris families, are the complete opposite of upstanding, moral folks.

Thankfully for the country, Christian and secular voters alike didn’t buy the propaganda. And because Trump won in November, current people of faith and future followers of Christ are better off. Look at his first week back in the White House for proof.

The Republican kicked off his second administration by freeing political prisoners, including the faithful pro-lifers who were thrown in prison for peacefully worshipping and praying at abortion facilities. He followed that with a sweeping executive order condemning and defunding the forced mutilation and sterilization of children.
