Ex-CIA Chief Rates Today’s Republicans as Most ‘Dangerous’ Political Force in History

Former CIA Director Michael Hayden endorsed the assessment that Republicans today are the most “dangerous” political force in history.

Edward Luce, the U.S. national editor and columnist at the Financial Times, got the ball rolling Wednesday in a Twitter exchange that comes at a time when the Republican Party has largely rallied behind former President Donald Trump.

“I’ve covered extremism and violent ideologies around the world over my career. Have never come across a political force more nihilistic, dangerous & contemptible than today’s Republicans. Nothing close,” Luce said.

Hayden quote tweeted the observation, writing, “I agree. And I was the CIA Director.”

CIA Contractors Charged in Nashville Murders

Two former U.S. Marines have been indicted in a contract killing plot in which automotive executive Erik Charles Maund of Austin, Texas paid to have his mistress and her lover killed in March 2020.

Trouble began after William Lanway, the boyfriend of Maund’s mistress, Holly Williams, threatened to expose the affair to Maund’s wife, according to a Department of Justice release. The Texas executive then turned to a man named Gilad Peled, who owned Speartip Security, a company intended to help people deal with extortion attempts.

Peled, who claimed service in the Israeli Defense Force (IDF), hired former U.S. Marines: Bryon Brockway, who served in Force Recon, and Adam Carey.

A source who worked with Peled and Brockway, speaking to Connecting Vets on the condition of anonymity, stated that despite Peled’s claims of having served in the IDF that both he and Brockway were former CIA contractors. Brockway’s callsign while deployed overseas was “Ink” which was also the name of his company called Ink Force LLC.

Both men served with the CIA’s Global Response Staff (GRS). Made famous by the attack on the American temporary mission facility and CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya which was dramatized in the film 13 Hours. GRS contractors act as a security element for CIA operations officers who have to meet their intelligence assets in dangerous parts of the world such as Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya. CIA Files Say Staffers Committed Sex Crimes Involving Children. They Weren’t Prosecuted.

Over the past 14 years, the Central Intelligence Agency has secretly amassed credible evidence that at least 10 of its employees and contractors committed sexual crimes involving children.

Though most of these cases were referred to US attorneys for prosecution, only one of the individuals was ever charged with a crime. Prosecutors sent the rest of the cases back to the CIA to handle internally, meaning few faced any consequences beyond the possible loss of their jobs and security clearances. That marks a striking deviation from how sex crimes involving children have been handled at other federal agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security and the Drug Enforcement Administration. CIA insiders say the agency resists prosecution of its staff for fear the cases will reveal state secrets. . .

One employee had sexual contact with a 2-year-old and a 6-year-old. He was fired. A second employee purchased three sexually explicit videos of young girls, filmed by their mothers. He resigned. A third employee estimated that he had viewed up to 1,400 sexually abusive images of children while on agency assignments. The records do not say what action, if any, the CIA took against him. A contractor who arranged for sex with an undercover FBI agent posing as a child had his contract revoked.

Only one of the individuals cited in these documents was charged with a crime. In that case, as in the only previously known case of a CIA staffer being charged with child sexual crimes, the employee was also under investigation for mishandling classified material.

The CIA did not answer detailed questions, saying only that the agency “takes all allegations of possible criminal misconduct committed by personnel seriously.” (Read more from “CIA Files Say Staffers Committed Sex Crimes Involving Children. They Weren’t Prosecuted.” HERE)

Feds: U.S. Embassy Worker Who Drugged, Molested Women Worked for the CIA

A U.S. Embassy staffer accused of drugging and sexually assaulting at least 24 women over a 14-year period was in fact a longtime CIA employee, the FBI announced Monday, as the bureau urged any possible victims to come forward in the case.

Serial molester Brian Jeffrey Raymond, 45, was arrested Oct. 9, 2020, in La Mesa, California, where he had been staying with his parents after abruptly quitting his job at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City. He pleaded guilty this past July to two counts of sexual abuse and one count of transporting obscene material, and will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life upon his eventual release from prison.

FBI spokeswoman Samantha Shero confirmed to The Daily Beast that Raymond was working for the CIA during his embassy posting in Mexico. She declined to provide further details about his exact position with the spy agency. . .

As The Daily Beast previously reported, the investigation into the veteran CIA man began after a passerby spotted a “naked, hysterical woman desperately screaming for help” on the terrace of a Mexico City apartment leased by the U.S. Embassy. Investigators later uncovered nearly 500 photographs and video footage of numerous women passed out in Raymond’s bed. In some, a man can be seen holding open the victims’ eyelids, waving their limp arms and legs around, or putting his fingers in their mouths to demonstrate that they are unconscious, according to court filings. Lying Four Star General Compares U.S. Patriots to Taliban

A former CIA chief who was in power at the end of the administration of George W. Bush into the early part of Barack Obama’s is likening a bunch of patriotic Americans flying Old Glory to the Taliban.

That would be murderous gang of Islamists in Afghanistan who shoot surrendering prisoners in cold blood, abduct 12-year-old girls for their harems, shoot women who wear Western clothes, and just recently took over the government there when Joe Biden abruptly withdrew American troops.

According to a report at American Greatness, it was Michael Hayden who repeated on social media an image that “explicitly compared supporters of President Donald Trump to the Taliban.”

The report noted Hayden was a four-star general who retired after holding the position of CIA director from 2006 to about 2009.

“The tweet in question depicted a split-screen image with Islamic terrorists riding in a convoy of pickup trucks and waving their flags, alongside a caravan of Trump supporters in pickup trucks waving American flags. The caption read: ‘Their Taliban. Our Taliban,'” the report explained. (Read more from “Lying Four Star General Compares U.S. Patriots to Taliban” HERE)

Report: At Least 200 Americans Have Now Reported Possible Symptoms of ‘Havana Syndrome’

As many as 200 Americans have come forward to describe possible symptoms of directed energy attacks, part of a wave of fresh reports that includes newly identified incidents around the world, Western officials say.

A U.S. official with knowledge of new potential cases of so-called Havana Syndrome said a steady drumbeat of cables has been coming in from overseas posts reporting new incidents — often multiple times each week.

A recent and previously unreported incident in Berlin cut short at least one diplomat’s term in Germany, U.S. officials and others briefed about the matter said.

Another person who was briefed this month about recent incidents said, “It is global — but there seems to be an awful lot going on in Europe.”

Officials with direct knowledge said there are now possible cases on every continent except Antarctica. In the past year, officials said, more than one American in the Central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan has experienced symptoms, including a baby. Ex-CIA Engineer Tells Judge He’s Incarcerated Like an Animal

A former CIA software engineer charged with leaking government secrets to WikiLeaks says it’s cruel and unusual punishment that he’s awaiting trial in solitary confinement, housed in a vermin-infested cell of a jail unit where inmates are treated like “caged animals.”

Joshua Schulte, 32, has asked a Manhattan federal judge to force the federal Bureau of Prisons to improve conditions at the Metropolitan Correction Center, where he has been held for over two years under highly restrictive conditions usually reserved for terrorism defendants. . .

The so-called Vault 7 leak published in March 2017 by WikiLeaks revealed how the CIA hacked Apple and Android smartphones in overseas spying operations and efforts to turn internet-connected televisions into listening devices. After a yearlong probe, investigators blamed Schulte, who had already left the agency after falling out with colleagues and supervisors and moved to New York City to work at a news agency. CIA Director Allegedly Banking on Trump Loss to Keep Russiagate Documents Hidden

Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director Gina Haspel is personally blocking the declassification and release of key Russiagate documents in the hopes that President Donald Trump will lose his re-election bid, multiple senior U.S. officials told The Federalist. The officials said Haspel, who served under former CIA Director John Brennan as the spy agency’s station chief in London in 2016 and 2017, is concerned that the declassification and release of documents detailing what the CIA was doing during the 2016 election and the 2017 transition could embarrass the CIA and potentially even implicate Haspel herself.

“Haspel and [FBI Director Christopher] Wray both want Trump to lose, because it’s the only chance they have of keeping their jobs,” one senior intelligence official told The Federalist. “They’re banking on Biden winning and keeping them where they are.” . . .

Officials also accused Haspel of repeatedly lying to the White House about the status of documents that are in the pipeline for declassification and release. These officials said that Haspel has consistently provided baseless excuses for her failure to produce certain documents, falsely claiming that she can’t physically locate documents, or that her agency doesn’t technically own them and therefore cannot release them.

“Haspel has repeatedly lied to the president about the status of documents to be declassified,” one intelligence community source said. “She will claim they don’t know where they are, or which agency technically owns them, and then we’ll find out she had them the entire time and just didn’t want them to see the light of day.” (Read more from “CIA Director Allegedly Banking on Trump Loss to Keep Russiagate Documents Hidden” HERE)

Top CIA Spy Killed Himself in Front of Wife Who Later Found Stash of Sex Toys, Guns

A top CIA spy killed himself in front of his wife, whom he wanted to take to the “afterlife” — and she later discovered a massive stash of bondage and S&M gear, as well as hundreds of sex toys, guns and ammo in their home.

Anthony Schinella, 52, the national intelligence officer for military issues, shot himself in the head outside his Arlington home on June 14, but US intelligence officials have remained mum about his suicide as the CIA conducted a probe, the Intercept reported.

“My husband was planning on murdering me. He had talked about taking me to the afterlife before,” Washington, DC-based journalist Sara Corcoran, 46 — who had only recently married Schinella — told the Sun. . .

Corcoran said she believes her husband had been planning to blow up their home.

Schinella, the highest-ranking military affairs analyst in the US intelligence community, also was a member of the powerful National Intelligence Council, which produces reports that go to the president and other top officials, according to the Intercept. John Durham Investigation Intensifies Focus on John Brennan

U.S. Attorney John Durham’s review of the Russia investigation is putting increased scrutiny on former CIA Director John Brennan, searching for any undue influence he may have had during 2017’s intelligence community assessment of Russian interference.

Durham, selected by Attorney General William Barr last year to lead this inquiry, drove to Washington, D.C., in March to ensure the investigation stayed on track during the coronavirus outbreak. The top Connecticut federal prosecutor is looking into highly sensitive issues, including whether Brennan took politicized actions to pressure the rest of the intelligence community to match his conclusions about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s motivations, according to sources cited by the Wall Street Journal.

Officials said Durham has been interviewing CIA officials this year, zeroing in on those at the National Intelligence Council, a center within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence which oversaw the collaboration between the CIA, FBI, and National Security Agency in putting together the 2017 assessment, and looking at how the work product was finalized.

The 2017 assessment concluded with “high confidence” that Putin “ordered an influence campaign in 2016” and Russia worked to “undermine public faith” in U.S. democracy, “denigrate” former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and “harm her electability and potential presidency,” and “developed a clear preference” for Trump. The NSA diverged on one aspect, expressing only “moderate confidence” that Putin actively tried to help Trump win and Clinton lose.
