No Surprise: Dan Bongino Hosts Kash Patel For Interview — But They Ignore Epstein Files

Former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino hosted FBI Director Kash Patel for a 23-minute interview on “The Dan Bongino Show” Wednesday, during which they did not discuss files pertaining to deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The Epstein files have been a contentious issue for President Donald Trump’s administration, particularly after Axios reported in July that a Department of Justice (DOJ) memo found that the deceased sex offender had left no “client list” and that there was no evidence of foul play in his death. Rather than address the topic on the show, Bongino and Patel discussed Antifa, touted their work at the FBI, praised Trump, complained about media coverage and lamented the challenging choices they had to make.

“490% increase in those who prey upon our children. 490% increase in arrests by the FBI. The FBI under the last year … for violent crime from 2024 to 2025, twice as many arrests,” Patel said. “That’s unbelievable, Dan. These numbers are truly historic. And that was the foundational tectonic shift you and I put into place in the FBI to let the cops go out there and be cops.”

Without mentioning the Epstein files, Bongino stressed that he, Patel and other top administration officials faced what he called “level 10 decisions,” which he described as “shitty” and “shittier.” He previously called the Epstein case “one of those level 10 decisions” that had no good answer on Feb. 2.

“When people are principals and deputies and at cabinet-level or cabinet kind of equivalent positions, everything’s a level 10 decision, Kash, meaning there’s a shitty decision and a shittier one … when that decision can’t even be made by me, it goes to you,” Bongino told Patel on Wednesday. “When it doesn’t go to you, it goes to the president’s desk. He’s dealing with level 11 decisions. And that’s the thing in D.C. That’s why the batting average isn’t always going to be 1,000.” (Read more from “No Surprise: Dan Bongino Hosts Kash Patel For Interview — But They Ignore Epstein Files” HERE)

Dan Bongino Reveals What Triggered Viral Post About Being ‘Shocked’ To His ‘Core’ At FBI

Former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino recounted on “The Vince Show” Monday reading documents that led him to make a viral July 2025 X post about being “shocked” to his “core.”

Bongino wrote in the post, which garnered 20.5 million views, that he would “never be the same” following the revelations in the documents. He told host Vince Coglianese, who is also the Daily Caller’s editorial director and host of “The Vince Coglianese Show,” that he was reading Crossfire Hurricane documents on a Friday night.

“It was basically about Crossfire. I was just reading some stuff about Crossfire,” Bongino said. “And … I was blown away … I lived in this kind of tiny apartment in D.C., … And I’m sitting there and I’m thinking to myself, ‘I couldn’t believe it happened here.’ You know, Vince, like having been a Secret Service agent, a police officer, and I hadn’t been in the FBI role that long, but it had been a few months.”

“I just thought, gosh, these guardrails just broke down because of people. People are guardrails, not robots … And I was just stunned at how many people just let this — just the incredibly poor decision-making,” he added. “It blew my mind … I got up the next day and I just fired that out … I was really shaken by the whole thing, how these guardrails broke down so quickly. It was astonishing. And I was — oh boy. Even now talking about it, I just remember that feeling. Like, oh my gosh, did this really happen? Yeah, that’s what that was about.”

Crossfire Hurricane was the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign regarding allegations of Russian collusion. (Read more from “Dan Bongino Reveals What Triggered Viral Post About Being ‘Shocked’ To His ‘Core’ At FBI” HERE)

Dan Bongino Returns to Civilian Life by Trading Brutal Insults With Ex-Lawmaker Matt Gaetz: ‘Piece of S***’

Former deputy FBI director Dan Bongino returned to his life as a conservative content creator this week and kicked things off by getting into a profanity-filled argument with former congressman Matt Gaetz on X.

The two MAGA-affiliated media personalities began trading barbs at one another Tuesday morning, after Gaetz undermined Bongino’s political credentials by asking Grok, X’s artificial intelligence chatbot, to recount Bongino’s three unsuccessful congressional elections.

“Maybe if I spent more time at shady parties with monied insiders I would’ve won. I heard you’d know a bit about that. You’ve always been a d*** by the way,” Bongino responded to Gaetz. “Grifting off your daddy like a suckling little doggie. When I first met you in the panhandle I knew you were a piece of s***. It’s written all over that phony face of yours,” he added.

Bongino’s harsh insult kicked off a series of exchanges between the two that lasted through the afternoon.

Gaetz told Bongino to “take a chill pill,” Bongino referenced accusations of Gaetz being antisemitic, Gaetz reminded Bongino that he once endorsed him, and Bongino maintained his belief that Gaetz is “a d***.” (Read more from “Dan Bongino Returns to Civilian Life by Trading Brutal Insults With Ex-Lawmaker Matt Gaetz: ‘Piece of S***’” HERE)

Dan Bongino Announces Departure From FBI Deputy Director Role

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino announced Wednesday night that he will step down from his position in January, ending a tenure that lasted less than one year.

“I will be leaving my position with the FBI in January,” Bongino wrote in a social media post. He thanked President Donald Trump, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and FBI Director Kash Patel for the opportunity to serve, adding that it was a privilege to serve the American public.

The announcement followed a day of mounting speculation about Bongino’s future at the bureau. Multiple sources said his departure had been expected, with some indicating he had already begun packing up his office and saying farewell to colleagues.

President Trump later confirmed Bongino’s exit, praising his work while suggesting the former media personality may return to broadcasting.
“Dan did a great job,” Trump said. “I think he wants to go back to his show.”

Bongino, 51, joined the Trump administration in March and served under Director Patel. One source said Bongino had planned from the outset to serve only a limited term, potentially just one year.

His time at the FBI was not without internal tension. In July, Bongino reportedly considered resigning after a heated exchange with Attorney General Bondi regarding the handling of documents connected to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. Bondi had issued a memo stating that no further disclosure was warranted and that there was no evidence to justify investigations into uncharged third parties.

Despite the dispute, Bongino remained in his role until announcing his departure this week.

While Bongino has not publicly outlined his next move, multiple sources believe he is likely to return to political commentary, a role he held prior to joining the administration.

With Bongino’s exit, co-Deputy Director Andrew Bailey is expected to assume the full responsibilities of the position. Bailey, who previously served as Missouri’s attorney general, joined the FBI leadership in September. He played a key role in a Supreme Court challenge related to government pressure on social media companies, though the case ultimately failed.

The FBI deputy director position traditionally oversees day-to-day bureau operations. In previous administrations, the role has carried significant influence within the agency.

Before entering government service, Bongino had publicly questioned the circumstances surrounding Epstein’s 2019 death, at times suggesting foul play. Earlier this year, however, he stated he accepted the official determination that Epstein died by suicide.

FBI’s Dan Bongino Rages at GOP’s Thomas Massie Over Whistleblower Accusations

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino harangued Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) for speculating that President Donald Trump’s administration was trying to publicly out a whistleblower.

The Kentucky Republican posted a letter he had received from the FBI whistleblower’s attorney that said a Thursday morning meeting at the bureau’s Washington field office was intended to identify the individual who made a protected disclosure about the ongoing investigation into pipe bombs placed at the Democratic and Republican national headquarters on January 5, 2021.

“I received this troubling letter today from the attorney representing the most recent FBI whistleblower regarding the J6 pipe bomb investigation,” Massie posted. “Just a reminder to @FBIDirectorKash, in case this letter is warranted, federal law prevents retaliation against whistleblowers.”

Bongino fired back in a lengthy post on X, saying he had offered to brief the congressman over the phone but he did not answer.

“When I spoke with you [Wednesday] a little after 8am ET (screenshots attached), I offered you an in-person brief on our work,” Bongino posted on X. “We spoke for ten minutes. I called you back a bit after 7:30pm ET to again make that offer. You didn’t answer and have yet to call me back.”

FBI’s Dan Bongino Won’t Rule Out Wider Conspiracy in Charlie Kirk Assassination: ‘We’re Looking Into Everything’

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino is refusing to rule out the possibility that there was a wider conspiracy to assassinate Charlie Kirk that went beyond Tyler Robinson, the man alleged to have murdered Kirk last Wednesday.

Bongino’s comments came during a Monday morning interview on Fox News’ America’s Newsroom with Bill Hemmer that began with Hemmer asking if “anyone” in the crowd assembled at Utah Valley University assisted Robinson.

“Well, that’s what we’re looking into now, Bill. Obviously we have a suspect in custody, it’s quite clear, that’s why I’m here discussing this individual. However, if this was a larger effort, there was any aiding and abetting, whether it be financial, whether it be someone who knew the specifics of it and failed to report that. As you heard the director say this morning, we as an FBI, our team, along with our state and local partners are looking into that,” answered Bongino before continuing:

We have a lot of technical capabilities, a lot of good investigative capabilities where we can scrub that entire network, whether it’s OSINT, open source intel through social media that people posted publicly. We’ll be looking at that. We’ll also be dropping a lot of paper, a lot subpoenas out there to take a look to see if there was any extended network.

But I want to be clear, there are things I can say, as you well know today, and things I can’t. I don’t want to get ahead or jeopardize the investigation. But what I can share with you, Bill, I will. We are clinging to transparency here. This is, you know, the era of the Cronkite and Jennings generation is over. New media now is media. And we want to be sure we can do everything in our power and do everything in our power to share what we can, when we can while still balancing the needs of the investigation.

Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino: ‘I’ll Never Be the Same’ After Shocking Corruption Revelations

In a striking statement on X (formerly Twitter) this past Saturday, Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino declared that recent revelations have “shocked [him] down to [his] core,” vowing that he will “never be the same” after what he has learned.

“During my tenure here as the Deputy Director of the FBI, I have repeatedly relayed to you that things are happening that might not be immediately visible, but they are happening,” Bongino wrote in his post.

Bongino said he and FBI Director Kash Patel are making it a top priority to root out public corruption and address the “political weaponization” of both law enforcement and intelligence operations.

“The Director and I are committed to stamping out public corruption and the political weaponization of both law enforcement and intelligence operations. It is a priority for us,” he stated.

The deputy director hinted at alarming findings uncovered during ongoing investigations.

“But what I have learned in the course of our properly predicated and necessary investigations into these aforementioned matters, has shocked me down to my core. We cannot run a Republic like this. I’ll never be the same after learning what I’ve learned,” Bongino said.

While Bongino did not provide specific details, he pledged that the investigations will be conducted “by the book” and in full accordance with the law, promising Americans the truth.

“We are going to conduct these righteous and proper investigations by the book and in accordance with the law. We are going to get the answers WE ALL DESERVE. As with any investigation, I cannot predict where it will land, but I can promise you an honest and dignified effort at truth. Not ‘my truth,’ or ‘your truth,’ but THE TRUTH,” he wrote.

Bongino concluded his message with a patriotic note: “God bless America, and all those who defend Her.”

At this time, it remains unclear what specific revelations Bongino was referring to, but his comments have sparked intense speculation and raised questions about potential political interference within the nation’s top law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

Bongino, Patel Won’t Remain At FBI If Bondi Keeps Job, Source Says

By Daily Wire. Dan Bongino, the Deputy Director of the FBI, is threatening to leave the bureau if Attorney General Pam Bondi remains on the job, a source close to Bongino tells The Daily Wire.

Bongino is reportedly furious with Attorney General Pam Bondi over her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, which has led many to believe he could walk away from the job that he took in February. The source close to Bongino said that he’s effectively issued an ultimatum, saying he won’t work alongside Bondi.

Bongino left a lucrative career in broadcasting to take the job in the Trump administration. He was not present at the FBI on Friday, after a reported spat with the attorney general earlier this week over the Epstein situation.

The rift between Bongino and Bondi intensified on Wednesday, days after the Department of Justice announced there was no evidence to prove that child rapist Jeffrey Epstein had a client list, had blackmailed powerful people, or had been murdered. Bondi had promised to reveal major details in the case five months ago, when there were no massive revelations to bring forward.

The deputy FBI director, who raised questions about Epstein’s death before he was in the Trump administration, said in May that his review of the file and hours of video recording from Epstein’s jail proved that the child abuser committed suicide. FBI Director Kash Patel also said that the evidence the bureau has reviewed shows that Epstein was not murdered.

Karoline Leavitt Answers If Trump Is ‘Satisfied’ With Bongino’s Assassination Attempt Explanation

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt appeared to sidestep a question Wednesday on whether President Donald Trump was “satisfied” with the FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino’s explanation of the assassination attempts against him, refusing to elaborate after Trump said the narrative seemed “a little bit strange.”

Daily Caller White House correspondent Reagan Reese pressed Leavitt on whether Trump was “satisfied” with Bongino’s recent assertion in a Fox News interview Sunday that “the ‘there’ you’re looking for is not there” regarding questions surrounding the attempts on Trump’s life.

“Well, in the lead up to your question, you answered your own question with the president’s own words, and I’ll leave it at that,” Leavitt responded, offering no further clarification.

Trump previously told Fox News host Bret Baier that, while he trusts his team, he finds aspects of the official narrative questionable. “I’m relying on my people to tell me what it is … The Secret Service, they tell me it’s fine. But it’s a little hard to believe,” the president said. “It’s a little bit strange.” (Read more from “Karoline Leavitt Answers If Trump Is ‘Satisfied’ With Bongino’s Assassination Attempt Explanation” HERE)
