Ryan Wesley Routh, the 58-year-old man who is suspected of an assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump, had connections in Iran that are leading some security experts to question if there was Iranian involvement.
A New York Times reporter who had interviewed Routh last year wrote on Sunday that Routh was working to recruit former Afghan special operations soldiers who had fled to Iran to go fight in Ukraine.
The reporter, Thomas Gibbons-Neff, wrote that when he was writing an article on volunteer fighters in Ukraine last year, his former Afghan colleague and friend Najim Rahim had put him in touch with Routh, who he had learned about from a source of his in Iran, a former Afghan special operations soldier.
A number of U.S.-trained Afghan special operations forces had fled to Iran after the disastrous Biden withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021. Since those forces were trained by U.S. special operations forces, the Afghan commandos’ escape into Iran potentially delivered “closely guarded secrets on U.S. special operators” to Iran, according to Foreign Policy.
Neff suggested that Afghan commandos were interested in fighting in Ukraine because “anything, even war, was better than the conditions in Iran for Afghans after the Taliban retook Kabul in August of 2021.” (Read more from “Questions Arise Over Would-Be Trump Assassin’s Shady Connections in Iran” HERE)

Censorship, political prosecutions, and assassinations are common features of a third-world banana republic where the term “democracy” is used by incumbent regimes as merely a buzzword to cloak authoritarianism. If there’s ever any wonder who won the last two presidential debates run by moderators from state media, just look at who keeps getting shot at after them.
Darren Beattie, a former speechwriter in the Trump White House, characterized the “grim new reality of our ‘democracy’” as one where “we can tell whether Trump won a debate by whether an assassination attempt follows shortly thereafter.”
The grim new reality of our “democracy” is we can tell whether trump won a debate by whether an assassination attempt follows shortly thereafter
On Sunday, former President Donald Trump survived a second attempt on his life just days following another primetime forum against his far-left opponent. While Trump was out golfing at one of his West Palm Beach resorts, a gunman line up a scoped “AK-47-style rifle” within just 300 to 500 yards of the Republican presidential nominee. After hiding for 12 hours, the suspect was prevented from firing at Trump only because of a Secret Service agent who engaged the rifleman first.
According to Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, Trump still does not have full Secret Service protection because he is out of office.
“At this level that he is at right now, he’s not the sitting president. If he was, we would have had this entire golf course surrounded. But because he’s not, security is limited to the areas that the Secret Service deems possible,” Bradshaw told reporters Sunday. “I would imagine that the next time he comes to a golf course, there’ll probably be a little bit more people around the perimeter. But the Secret Service did exactly what they should have done.” (Read more from “Trump Assassination Attempts Mark Next Stage of America’s March Towards Banana Republic” HERE)

By Daily Mail. Ryan Wesley Routh, the man named as the suspect in a possible assassination attempt near Donald Trump’s Florida golf club, was calm and emotionless when he was arrested Sunday.
Registered Democrat Routh, 58 is in custody after the terrifying incident at Trump International Club almost exactly two months after a separate assassination attempt against Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The suspect was found unarmed, as a backpack, GoPro camera and AK-47 style rifle that a gunman left behind when fleeing the scene have already been located.
Martin County Sherriff William D. Snyder said Routh ‘was not displaying a lot of emotions’ when police arrested him.
Snyder added that the suspected shooter was ‘relatively calm’ and ‘never asked’ why he was being detained. (Read more from “Trump Shooter Revealed” HERE)
Alleged Would-Be Trump Assassin Ryan Routh, 58, of Hawaii Echoed Harris, Biden’s Anti-Trump Rhetoric as He Backed Dem Candidates
By New York Post. The alleged gunman who authorities said targeted former President Trump while he golfed in Florida Sunday afternoon previously declared on social media that “Democracy is on the ballot” this year, and “we cannot lose” — echoing the anti-Trump rhetoric used by Vice President Kamala Harris and President Biden. . .
Routh, who has a lengthy criminal record from North Carolina, frequently posted about politics and exclusively donated to Democratic candidates and causes dating back to 2019. . .
He also bashed Trump in an April 22 post on X in which he declared, “DEMOCRACY is on the ballot and we cannot lose.”
He advised Biden, 81, in an April 22 X post when he was still running for reelection, to run a campaign around keeping “America democratic and free.”
He claimed Trump wants to “make Americans slaves against master.” (Read more from “Alleged Would-Be Trump Assassin Ryan Routh, 58, of Hawaii Echoed Harris, Biden’s Anti-Trump Rhetoric as He Backed Dem Candidates” HERE)
Son of Alleged Would-Be Assassin Says His Dad Hates Trump Like ‘all Reasonable People’ but He’s Never Owned a Gun and Wouldn’t Do Anything Bats*** Crazy
By Daily Mail. The son of Ryan Wesley Routh, the man named as the suspect in a possible assassination attempt near Donald Trump’s Florida golf club on Sunday, has said his father is not a violent person and did not even believe him to own a gun.
Routh’s son, Oran Routh, reached by DailyMail.com shortly after Sunday’s shooting, said this was the first he’d heard of the alleged assassination attempt.
‘This was the first I heard about it,’ the 35-year-old exclusively told DailyMail.com. ‘Was my father shot or injured?’
He said his father hates Trump as ‘every reasonable person does.
‘I don’t like Trump either,’ the son added. (Read more from “Son of Alleged Would-Be Assassin Says His Dad Hates Trump Like ‘all Reasonable People’ but He’s Never Owned a Gun and Wouldn’t Do Anything Bats*** Crazy” HERE)

By USA Today. Former President Donald Trump offered political and spiritual reasons Monday for surviving two assassination attempts in two months.
While again criticizing the “rhetoric” of Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden, Trump said during an X Spaces interview that something else may be going on: “I mean, perhaps it’s God wanting me to be president to save this country; nobody knows.”
Trump discussed the pair of attempted murders during an X program otherwise devoted to the launch of a new cryptocurrency project that involves his two eldest sons. . .
“That was some crazy day,” Trump said. “And then yesterday, you had another one.”
Trump also confirmed that Biden called him to discuss the latest incident, and said that “he couldn’t have been nicer.” (Read more from “‘Perhaps It’s God:’ Trump Offers Spiritual Reason for Surviving Assassination Attempts” HERE)
Suspect in Trump Assassination Attempt May Have Lain in Wait for 12 Hours
By Reuters. A man suspected of hiding for nearly 12 hours in an apparent attempt to assassinate Donald Trump at his Florida golf course was charged with two gun-related crimes on Monday, a day after authorities say he was spotted in the bushes with a rifle as the former U.S. president played nearby. . .
Trump’s visit to his golf course in West Palm Beach was not on his public schedule, acting U.S. Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe told reporters on Monday afternoon, and it was not clear whether the suspect knew Trump would be there.
“All of a sudden we heard shots being fired in the air. I guess probably four or five,” Trump said during an event on X Spaces. “Secret Service knew immediately it was bullets, and they grabbed me. … We got into the carts and we moved along pretty, pretty good. I was with an agent, and the agent did a fantastic job.”
The Secret Service opened fire after an agent sweeping the course saw a rifle barrel poking out of the bushes a few hundred yards away from the former president, who was on the fairway of the fifth hole.

On Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “ReidOut,” claimed that both of the would-be assassins of 2024 Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump “are white, American, Trump-supporting men with guns.”
During her show’s opening monologue, Reid said, “What better way to replace the embarrassing memes about JD’s cat lady fixation and his weird possible amorous relationship with couches than to get Americans to instead post memes about Haitians eating the dogs and cats?”
. . .
Later, she concluded, “All of this as Trump faces his second brush with death, via a gunman shooting at him in Palm Beach, Florida, just as happened in Pennsylvania, neither of whom were Haitian or any kind of immigrant. Both of whom are white, American, Trump-supporting men with guns.” (Read more from “MSNBC’s Lie: ‘Both’ Would-Be Trump Assassins ‘Are White, American, Trump-Supporting Men’” HERE)
In yet another example of the mainstream media’s absurdity, MSNBC suggests that Trump was inviting assassination attempts and asks if he will “tone down the violent rhetoric” or if that would be atypical. The media continues to prove themselves as the enemy of the people.

Former President Trump told his supporters on Sunday he was “safe and well” after a second attempted assassination on his life, this time in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Trump was on the fifth hole of the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach on Sunday afternoon when the U.S. Secret Service opened fire on a man, identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, who was allegedly armed with a rifle. . .
“There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL,” Trump wrote after the events. “Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER! I will always love you for supporting me. Unity. Peace. Make America Great Again.”
The Secret Service is working closely with authorities and investigating the situation, and U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has been briefed. (Read more from “Trump Breaks Silence Following 2nd Assassination Attempt, Just 64 Days After Being Shot” HERE)

ABC News’ Linsey Davis, one of two moderators for last week’s presidential debate, admitted to the Los Angeles Times that the plan was only to fact-check former President Donald Trump, and not Vice President Kamala Harris.
As Breitbart News noted, Davis and co-moderator David Muir fact-checked Trump seven times — often incorrectly — while never fact-checking Harris once, even when she used hoaxes, such as the Charlottesville “very fine people” hoax.
Davis told the Times that ABC had deliberately targeted Trump — and only Trump — because of perceptions that he had been allowed to get away with false statements in the CNN debate against President Joe Biden in late June.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Davis said she wanted to address concerns that Trump’s statements could be allowed to “hang” there unchallenged by his opponent or the moderators, as they were when Trump and Biden debate on CNN in June.
“Davis, wearing pink glasses while speaking to The Times over breakfast at the Ritz Carlton in Philadelphia, said the decision to attempt to correct the candidates was in response to the June 27 CNN debate between Trump and President Biden, whose poor performance led to his exit from the race,” the Times reported.

Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, frequently posted about politics online and has exclusively donated to Democratic candidates and causes since 2019.

Sen. J.D. Vance says he won’t try to speak for Donald Trump in the future after the vice presidential nominee expressed a contradicting viewpoint on a federal abortion ban.
The admission came after a moment at Tuesday’s debate where the former president broke with his running mate and said they have not yet discussed a veto on banning abortion at a national level.
‘I think that I’ve learned my lesson on speaking for the president before he and I have actually talked about an issue,’ Vance said in an interview with Meet the Press host Kristen Welker on Sunday morning.
The Ohio Senator said his point last month was to reiterate that Trump has been clear he does not support the idea of a national ban – but that he also thinks the issue would never cross his desk because it wouldn’t get through Congress in the first place.
WATCH: On #MTP in August, @JDVance said Donald Trump would veto a national abortion ban.
But on the debate stage, Trump said he “wouldn’t have to” and that he and Vance had not discussed it.
Asked at the debate with Vice President Kamala Harris in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Tuesday if he would veto a bill putting a federal ban on abortions, Trump was noncommittal. . .
But when the ABC debate moderator Linsey Davis pressed him on Vance’s remarks just weeks earlier, the ex-president broke with his running mate
‘I didn’t discuss it with J.D. in all fairness,’ Trump said on stage. ‘J.D. – and I don’t mind if he has a certain view – but I think he was speaking for me. But I really didn’t.’ (Read more from “Vance Apparently Chastised for Out-of-Line Comments on Abortion” HERE)
