Biden Moves to Block Trump, Future Presidents From Firing Deep State Bureaucrats

President Biden finalized new civil service protections on Thursday aimed at preventing the sort of bureaucratic housecleaning that former President Donald Trump plans, should he win reelection.

At stake are potentially tens of thousands of policymaking jobs across the government and the ability to have them follow the president’s direction or face firing.

That has become a top goal of Republicans after the deep state thwarted or watered down many of Mr. Trump’s initiatives. It also has become a chief fear of Democrats.

Mr. Biden said his rules would insulate employees from such political pressure by making it tougher to reclassify their jobs and then fire them.

“Day in and day out, career civil servants provide the expertise and continuity necessary for our democracy to function,” Mr. Biden said. “This rule is a step toward combatting corruption and partisan interference to ensure civil servants are able to focus on the most important task at hand: delivering for the American people.” (Read more from “Biden Moves to Block Trump, Future Presidents From Firing Deep State Bureaucrats” HERE)

Judge Rules on Trump Documents Case and Calls Jack Smith’s Demand ‘Unjust’

A Florida federal judge denied a bid by former President Donald Trump to dismiss his classified documents case on the grounds that his actions were permitted under the Presidential Records Act.

Trump’s attorneys had moved to dismiss the case on those grounds, writing in a February filing that the PRA granted “unreviewable discretion on President Trump to designate the records at issue as personal.” While U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon did not grant Trump’s motion to dismiss the case on PRA grounds, she left open the possibility for Trump to raise the argument if a trial ever takes place.

Cannon also pushed back on special counsel Jack Smith‘s ‘demand’ that she make a final ruling on whether the PRA theory can be used at trial, in the event prosecutors seek to appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. Cannon said that demand was “unprecedented and unjust.” . . .

The first 32 counts in Smith’s indictment “make no reference to the Presidential Records Act, nor do they rely on that statute for purposes of stating an offense,” the judge wrote in a three-page order. As for the remaining counts against Trump tacked on in a superseding indictment that alleged efforts to obstruct a federal investigation, she wrote, “They too track the applicable statutory language and essential elements of the charged crimes.”

The decision comes just two days after both parties submitted their responses to Cannon’s proposed jury instructions based on competing interpretations of two laws relevant in the case. (Read more from “Judge Rules on Trump Documents Case and Calls Jack Smith’s Demand ‘Unjust’” HERE)

Trump Campaign Blasts Politico for ‘Lies’ About Don’s Record on China

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung on Thursday blasted Politico editor Catherine Kim for misrepresenting former President Donald Trump’s record on China.

In a statement titled, “Politico Carries Water for the Chinese Communist Party; Spews Lies and Falsehoods to Interfere In 2024 Election,” Cheung said:

In Politico’s Nightly newsletter, Catherine Kim makes a harebrained assertion that China would prefer President Trump to return to the White House. The same President Trump who made China submit to pro-America trade and tariff regulations, called them out for exporting the Coronavirus that killed millions across the world, and stood tough against Chinese economic aggression throughout his first term.

For a media outlet and its reporter to peddle lies and feature commentary from a ‘China expert’ named Rorry Daniels—who by the way is a Democrat donor—is laughable at best. Politico is being played by devious Chinese forces who seek to manipulate malleable American media outlets and their reporters because they know Trump Derangement Syndrome is a very real disease that distorts all reasoning.

Trump Gagged After Publicizing Judge’s Family’s Direct Connection to $93 Million in Democratic Fundraising

The daughter of the judge presiding over Donald Trump’s New York hush-money trial has two significant Democratic clients who have raised over $93 million in campaign donations by fundraising off the criminal case. These clients, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and the Senate Majority PAC, are clients of Authentic Campaigns, a Chicago-based progressive political consulting firm where Loren Merchan, the daughter of Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, is president.

In August, Merchan rejected Trump’s first recusal motion, but Trump spokesman Steven Chung says the evidence of bias is even clearer now, telling the New York Post, “Authentic Campaigns, and thus the judge’s daughter, is actively making money from this sham attack against President Trump, rendering Judge Merchan conflicted out.”

Adam Schiff’s Senate campaign has garnered a staggering $20 million in donations since it started seeking contributions based on Trump’s 34-count indictment last April, per Federal Election Commission records.

A Schiff’s fundraising email read:

It is a somber moment, and unprecedented for a former president to be indicted, but his alleged offenses are also unprecedented. Trump will respond as he always does — playing the victim and blaming others for having the temerity to investigate him in the first place.

Donald Trump Spotlights Victims of Open Borders, Calls on Joe Biden to ‘Say Their Names’ (VIDEO)

During a campaign speech in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Tuesday, former President Donald Trump spotlighted the plight of Angel Families who have lost loved ones to illegal immigration, urging President Joe Biden to say the victims’ names.

“Every town is now a border town because Joe Biden has brought the chaos, carnage, and killing from all over the world and dumped it straight into our backyards,” Trump said alongside law enforcement officials. “People are coming in [to the United States] from prisons and mental institutions.”

“In Venezuela, the crime is down 67 percent from what it was a year and a half ago,” Trump said. “Because they’re taking all of their gangs and all of their criminals and they’re depositing them into the United States of America.” . . .

Among the victims are 25-year-old Ruby Garcia in Grand Rapids, 22-year-old Leah Gomez in Grand Rapids, as well as 22-year-old Laken Riley in Athens, Georgia. Garcia’s accused killer, a previously deported illegal alien from Mexico, is facing murder charges while Gomez’s killer, an illegal alien from Mexico, was convicted of murder in February. Trump: Election Day Will Be ‘Christian Visibility Day’

Former President Donald Trump declared that the November election will be “Christian Visibility Day” in opposition to President Joe Biden’s declaration of “Transgender Day of Visibility” on March 31, which coincided with Easter Sunday this year.

“Election Day, November 5th, will be the most important day in the History of our Country. It will also be Christian Visibility Day, the biggest turnout of Christians in the history of our Country!” the former president declared on his Truth Social account. . .

“NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility. I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity,” he continued. . .

“It is appalling and insulting that Joe Biden’s White House prohibited children from submitting religious egg designs for their Easter Art Event, and declared Easter Sunday as ‘Trans Day of Visibility,’” Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told Breitbart News on Saturday. “Sadly, these are just two more examples of the Biden Administration’s years-long assault on the Christian faith. We call on Joe Biden’s failing campaign and White House to issue an apology to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America who believe tomorrow is for one celebration only — the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” (Read more from “Trump: Election Day Will Be ‘Christian Visibility Day’” HERE)

Trump Rages Against Republican: ‘One of the Worst Senators in the United States’

Former President Donald Trump raged against Sen. Bill Cassidy on Monday, calling the Louisiana Republican “one of the worst senators in the United States Senate.”

Trump, 77, who endorsed Cassidy in his 2020 re-election campaign, fumed over the senator’s 2021 vote to convict him at his impeachment trial for his role in the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol Building.

“A TOTAL FLAKE, Republican though he may be,” the presumptive GOP nominee for president wrote on Truth Social.

Cassidy was one of seven Senate Republicans who voted to convict Trump of inciting an insurrection.

“Cassidy is a total ‘stiff,’ but Louisiana didn’t need him to protect them, because they had ME, 100%!” Trump wrote. “Nevertheless, when the Democrats’ Impeachment Hoax started, this Lamebrain Senator actually voted against me.” (Read more from “Trump Rages Against Louisiana Republican: ‘One of the Worst Senators in the United States’” HERE)

Judge Extends Gag Order on Trump Amid Social Media Storm

Former President Donald Trump finds himself at the center of yet another legal controversy as a judge has expanded a gag order against him in his New York criminal trial. The decision comes in response to Trump’s fiery social media criticism targeting the judge.

The ongoing legal saga stems from indictments brought forth by Democratic District Attorney Alvin Bragg of New York County. Trump faces charges related to alleged falsification of business records.

Acting New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, presiding over the trial, took swift action following Trump’s online attacks, which included criticism of Merchan’s daughter. The expanded gag order prohibits Trump from making public statements about the case [via Daily Caller]:

Trump criticized Merchan’s daughter for allegedly posting criticism of him on social media platforms, though the New York State Unified Courts system later clarified that the account was misattributed to her.

“The X, formerly Twitter, account being attributed to Judge Merchan’s daughter no longer belongs to her,” said Al Baker, the spokesman for the New York State Office of Court Administration, according to The New York Times. “It is not linked to her email address, nor has she posted under that screen name since she deleted the account. Rather, it represents the reconstitution, last April, and manipulation of an account she long ago abandoned.”

Federal Appeals Court Deals Legal Blow to Trump Aide Currently Facing Prison Sentence

A federal appeals court dealt another legal blow to former Trump administration official Peter Navarro Monday, siding with a judge who threatened him with contempt of court.

Navarro recently began his four-month prison sentence after being convicted on contempt of Congress charges in September for failing to comply with a Jan. 6 committee subpoena. A federal judge separately threatened in February to hold him in contempt of court if he failed to turn over emails from his time in the Trump administration to the National Archives in a ruling the appeals court affirmed Monday.

“Navarro argues that the United States cannot use D.C.’s replevin statute because the [Presidential Records Act] itself has no express cause of action for the United States to seek the return of Presidential records,” the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals court wrote Monday. “Rather, in Navarro’s view, the United States’s only enforcement mechanism is to discipline current employees possessing Presidential records under Section 2209, a mechanism the United States cannot use against Navarro because he is no longer an employee.

“These arguments are without merit under clear, longstanding precedent,” the panel continued.

Trump Posts $175 Million Bond to Prevent New York From Seizing Assets

Former President Donald Trump posted a $175 million bond on Monday to prevent New York from seizing assets like Trump Tower as he appeals the recent civil fraud case that ruled he cheated business partners to increase his company’s profits.

“Donald Trump posted a $175 million bond on Monday to prevent New York authorities from seizing his assets, including properties such as Trump Tower, pending appeal of a civil fraud judgment against him of nearly a half-billion dollars,” the Washington Post reported.

“The former president’s posting of the bond was necessary to keep New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) from initiating legal steps to take over his properties,” it added.

Trump recently appealed a ruling from New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron claiming that he, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and two former executives fraudulently inflated the value of his assets to increase profit and savings. The bond to prevent New York from seizing his assets was initially set at $450 million, but an appellate court panel reduced the bond to $175 million last week on the condition that he post it within ten days.

“I greatly respect the decision of the appellate division and I’ll post the $175 million in cash or bonds or security or whatever is necessary very quickly within the 10 days, and I thank the appellate division for acting quickly,” Trump said last week.
