Federal Judge Strikes down Trump Admin Rule Protecting Pro-Life Doctors

A federal district judge in New York has ruled against a Trump administration rule meant to protect the conscience rights of health care workers.

In a 147-page decision issued on Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer found the administration’s “conscience rule” unconstitutional because it uses the withholding of federal funds as an enforcement mechanism and ruled that the department of Health and Human Services acted “acted arbitrarily and capriciously” in promulgating it. The ruling also claims that the department was invoking powers that weren’t granted to it by Congress via federal law.

The measure was supposed to go into effect on November 22; however, Engelmayer — an Obama appointee — decided to vacate it “in its entirety.”

The Trump administration announced the rule back in May as an effort to protect the rights of people and institutions in the health care field who have moral objections to certain procedures like abortion, the provision of contraception, or “assisted suicide, euthanasia, or mercy killing.”

“This rule ensures that healthcare entities and professionals won’t be bullied out of the health care field because they decline to participate in actions that violate their conscience, including the taking of human life,” reads a statement from OCR Director Roger Severino at the time of introduction. “Protecting conscience and religious freedom not only fosters greater diversity in healthcare, it’s the law.” (For more the author of “Federal Judge Strikes down Trump Admin Rule Protecting Pro-Life Doctors” please click HERE)

Mexican President Rejects Trump’s Offer for War Against Drug Cartels; Nine Members of Mormon Family, Dual U.S.-Mexican Citizens, Killed in Attack; Slain U.S. Citizens Were Part of Mormon Offshoot with Sordid History

By Daily Caller. Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador flatly rejected President Donald Trump’s offer to “wage war” on drug cartels following the massacre of a U.S.-Mexican family along the border.

During a Tuesday press conference, López Obrador rejected Trump’s public offer to send U.S. military forces to Mexico and help his government combat organized crime. The leftist president — reiterating a position he’s long held — argued that war with the drug cartels was not the best approach.

“We have to act independently and according to our constitution, and in line with our tradition of independence and sovereignty,” López Obrador said Tuesday. “War is irrational. We are for peace. It is a characteristic of this new government.”

The statements came a day after at least nine members of Mormon family, all of whom were dual U.S.-Mexican citizens, were killed in a gruesome ambush while traveling near the border.

Members of the LeBaron family were traveling in three separate vehicles between the Mexican states of Chihuahua and Sonora Monday when they were shot at by individuals suspecting of belonging to a drug cartel. Surviving members recounted a horrific scene: victims burning alive in a flaming vehicle and one child gunned down while trying to run away. Of the nine who were killed, three were women, four were children and two were infants. (Read more from “Mexican President Rejects Trump’s Offer for War Against Drug Cartels” HERE)

Nine Members of Mormon Family, Dual U.S.-Mexican Citizens, Killed in Attack in Northern Mexico; Trump Offers Support

By Washington Post. Assailants killed at least nine members of a fundamentalist Mormon community in Northern Mexico, authorities said Tuesday, shooting and incinerating women and children in a brutal assault that highlighted the increasing grip of organized crime on parts of the country.

Mexican Public Security Secretary Alfonso Durazo said three women and six children of the extended LeBaron family were killed in attacks on three vehicles Monday in the northern state of Sonora. The victims were part of a community of U.S.-Mexican dual citizens who have lived in Mexico for decades. . .

President Trump offered to help Mexico strike back at the traffickers. “This is the time for Mexico, with the help of the United States, to wage WAR on the drug cartels and wipe them off the face of the earth,” he tweeted. He called López Obrador on Tuesday afternoon to offer support. Slain U.S. Citizens Were Part of Mormon Offshoot with Sordid History

By NBC News. The nine U.S. citizens who were killed in a brutal ambush by drug cartel gunmen Monday while traveling in Mexico belonged to a Mormon offshoot group that has been touched by cartel violence before.

The group was part of the extended LeBaron family, Mormon fundamentalists who first came to Mexico nearly a century ago — when the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City started cracking down on members who were still practicing polygamy.

To escape persecution in the U.S., Alma Dayer LeBaron brought his wives and children across the border to Mexico in 1924 and founded the LeBaron colony in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. It was there in 2009 that drug cartels took another member of the family, anti-crime activist Benjamin LeBaron, for ransom, and murdered him. . .

The family has had a sordid history, Bowman said. Its founder’s sons fell victim to infighting. One, Ervil LeBaron, formed his own church that took on a cult following, said Anna LeBaron, who was one of Ervil’s 51 children with 13 wives. She was born at the LeBaron colony and escaped her father’s cult when she was 13; she detailed her experience in a 2017 book, “The Polygamist’s Daughter.” . . .

“My father would order mob-style hits and those would be carried out by his cult members if they stopped believing in him or his practice or religion and left, or sometimes it was rival cult leaders that were blood-atoned for being false prophets,” she said, adding that media outlets dubbed him the “Mormon Manson.” (Read more from “Slain U.S. Citizens Were Part of Mormon Offshoot with Sordid History” HERE)

New Poll Has Stunning News for Trump Regarding 2020 Race

By Newsweek. Donald Trump is polling better than Democratic primary front-runners Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren in Nevada, a key swing state for the upcoming 2020 election.

A new poll by Emerson found the president would beat both the former Vice President and the Massachusetts senator by 51 percent of support among Nevadans to 49 percent in a head-to-head.

The survey conducted between October 31 and November 2 also found that Trump and Bernie Sanders were running neck-and-neck, with both candidates hitting 50 percent of popular support in the state.

But his marginally greater potential to beat Trump in Nevada was not reflected in his standing among local Democrats. (Read more from “New Poll Has Stunning News for Trump Regarding 2020 Race” HERE)

Poll: 59 Percent Say Trump’s Interactions with Ukraine Neither Illegal nor Wrong

By Breitbart. About six out of every ten U.S. adults, or 59 percent, believe President Donald Trump’s interactions with Ukraine that triggered the impeachment probe amount to something “unethical but not illegal” or “nothing wrong” at all, according to a recent poll.

Another 30 percent say there is “nothing wrong” with the Trump-Zelensky interactions, while 38 percent say Trump’s Ukraine-linked actions amount to “something illegal.”

In other words, 59 percent of respondents believe Trump’s Ukraine-linked actions are neither illegal (29 percent) nor wrong (30 percent). (Read more from “Poll: 59 Percent Say Trump’s Interactions with Ukraine Neither Illegal nor Wrong” HERE)

CNN Lied and Claimed UFC Crowd Was Upset About Trump Attendance – This Video Proves Otherwise

By The Blaze. . .President Donald Trump received a roaring applause from a Manhattan crowd as he entered Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday night to watch UFC 244. The 45th president of the United States arrived at the legendary venue at approximately 9:00 p.m. along with his family and high-ranking members of Congress.

According to the New York Post, although a small group of protestors gathered outside and some fans booed Trump as he walked into the arena, “there were twice as many fans happy to see the commander in chief.” A video posted by MMA fighter Tara LaRosa appears to confirm this, as it shows fans mostly cheering Trump as he walked in to watch the sporting event.

The Post reported that Trump traveled to New York to watch the fighter Derrick Lewis take on Blagoy Ivanov with House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy and Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) and arrived at John F. Kennedy Airport shortly after 8:00 p.m. The entourage arrived at Madison Square Garden about an hour later after taking the Marine One helicopter to a heliport in lower Manhattan. The president and his entourage then went by motorcade to the arena located in midtown Manhattan. He was also accompanied by his sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr. . .

Despite the warm reception seen on video, several media outlets are portraying the crowd’s reaction as negative. A CBS News headline reads “Trump booed at UFC event in New York City.”

Meanwhile, CNN said “Trump met with loud boos, some cheers, at UFC fight in New York.”

Fox News Poll: 49 Percent Favor Impeaching Trump

By Fox News. Nearly half of voters want President Trump impeached and removed from office, according to a new Fox News Poll. In addition, 6-in-10 believe the president did ask foreign leaders to investigate political opponents — and two-thirds say that action is inappropriate.

Forty-nine percent want Trump impeached and removed from office, 4 percent say he should be impeached but not removed, and 41 percent oppose impeaching Trump. That’s about where things stood in early October, when 51 percent said impeach/remove, 4 percent impeach/don’t remove, and 40 percent opposed altogether.

The two-point dip in support for impeachment comes from a 5-point decline among Republicans, as 8 percent favor impeachment now, compared to 13 percent in early October.

More voters believe Trump asked Ukraine to probe his rivals (60 percent) and that he held up military aid as pressure to get what he wanted (52 percent), than favor impeaching him for doing so (49 percent). (Read more from “Fox News Poll: 49 Percent Favor Impeaching Trump” HERE)

Trump to Withhold Federal Aid for California Wildfires – This Is the Reason Why

President Donald Trump on Sunday tweeted that the federal government would no longer provide federal money to help with wildfires in California. According to the president, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) has “done a terrible job of forest management” because of environmentalists.

Newsom clapped back at the president, clearly blaming climate change on the state’s massive wildfires.

Secret Service: President Trump and Donald Trump Jr. No. 1 and No. 2 Highest Death Threats

President Trump, once the popular reality TV host of The Apprentice and a favorite of celebrity shows and gossip columns, has become the No. 1 target of death threats, according to the U.S. Secret Service.

His son, Donald Trump Jr., is No. 2 on the list.

And, Trump Jr. writes in his new book Triggered: How The Left Thrives On Hate And Wants To Silence Us, “It gets worse. Much worse.”

In his book, due out Tuesday, Trump lists several friends, family members, and conservatives who have become targets of left-leaning critics and attackers.

“Anyone who supports my father is a target,” he wrote. He named a few who have been threatened and harassed: Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Paul’s aide Sergio Gor; Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise and others injured in the June 2017 baseball field shooting assault; girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle; brother Eric Trump and sister Ivanka Trump; former Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen; former spokeswoman Sarah Sanders; top policy aide Stephen Miller; Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell; and Vice President Mike Pence. Trump’s Re-Election Likely If Economy Stays on Course

An enduring U.S. expansion puts President Donald Trump on course to win re-election in 2020, according to economic models with a track record of predicting who wins the White House.

The forecasts from Yale University professor Ray Fair, Oxford Economics Ltd. and Moody’s Analytics Inc. are based on Trump being boosted at the ballot box by steady economic growth, an historically tight labor market and limited inflation.

Such an outlook justifies Trump’s push to harness what he’s called the “greatest” economy to return him to power a year from Sunday. It challenges some opinion polls which show his disapproval rating hovering near 54% amid an impeachment inquiry and polarized politics. . .

The economy expanded at a 1.9% pace in the third quarter and unemployment is close to its lowest in a half-century, government data showed last week. While manufacturing has been hurt by the U.S.-China trade war, consumers continue to spend in a sign voters are still confident about the economy. A Bloomberg Economics model sees the chances of an election-year recession at just 27%. (Read more from “Trump’s Re-Election Likely If Economy Stays on Course” HERE)

Trump Campaign Trolls Dems With ‘Witch Hunt’ Halloween Event

Along with “Fake News Media,” among President Trump’s favorite phrases is “Witch Hunt.” So what better theme for a Trump campaign Halloween party?

On Wednesday, the Trump campaign held a “Witch Hunt Party” in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania featuring social media stars Diamond and Silk, two of Trump’s most vocal supporters, Bloomberg’s Mario Parker reports.

The event was hosted by American Conservative Union Chairman Matt Schlapp and his wife, former White House Director of Strategic Communications Mercedes Schlapp, and held at the Spooky Nook Sports recreation center in Manheim, Parker notes. . .

“I think it’s been a witch hunt. The whole Russia collusion and anything before it and anything after it,” Lane told Parker. “It’s the swamp versus him. It’s the elite, the deep state.”

With reports about his campaign’s aptly themed Halloween party circulating, Trump slammed the Democrats’ “witch hunt” again on Thursday morning.

Impeachment Could Shut Down the Government; White House: Impeachment Resolution Denies Trump Due Process

By Daily Caller. The ongoing impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump could shut down the government since the Senate has yet to pass 12 spending bills, The New York Times reported.

None of the bills have reached the Senate floor yet, and a possible impeachment trial “gives added urgency” for the lawmakers to fully fund the government, Republican Maine Sen. Susan Collins said, according to The NYT. The impeachment inquiry is in the House and a vote has not been scheduled yet.

“It used to be that we frequently finished up the appropriations bills before the start of the fiscal year,” Collins said, reported The NYT. “A potential impeachment trial gives added urgency to our making as much progress as possible on the appropriations bills … before we could be presented with the articles of impeachment.”

Funding might be extended into early 2020 so that resources don’t dry up in the case that senators have to spend time on an impeachment trial, which wouldn’t allow them to focus on legislative work as much. Lawmakers have had issues agreeing on the Trump administration’s spending, including efforts to build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico.

“I would hope the senators accept the responsibility that they have to complete their work,” said Democratic New York Rep. Nita M. Lowey, chairwoman of the House Appropriations Committee, according to The NYT. (Read more from “Impeachment Could Shut Down the Government” HERE)

White House: Impeachment Resolution Denies Trump Due Process

By Washington Examiner. The White House rejected as unfair a resolution by Democrats that will formalize an impeachment inquiry that began last month.

The resolution, which could pass the House as early as this week, outlines some rights for Republicans but keeps most power with House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, who has been deposing witnesses in closed-door hearings.

White House counsel Pat Cipollone said in an Oct. 8 letter that the White House would not cooperate with the impeachment proceeding because it lacked authorization by a House floor vote.

By introducing the resolution, Democrats hope to remove a key Republican argument that the proceeding is illegitimate. But White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham contended it changes little in terms of the inquiry being stacked against Trump.

“The resolution put forward by Speaker Pelosi confirms that House Democrats’ impeachment has been an illegitimate sham from the start as it lacked any proper authorization by a House vote,” Grisham said. “This resolution does nothing to change the fundamental fact that House Democrats refuse to provide basic due process rights to the Administration” (Read more from “White House: Impeachment Resolution Denies Trump Due Process” HERE)

Trump Allies Charge Lt. Col. Vindman Is Disrespecting Chain of Command With Testimony; Schiff Stopped Impeachment Witness From Answering GOP Questions

By Washington Examiner. President Trump’s allies denounced Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman for breaking ranks as he became the first current White House official to testify during impeachment proceedings.

Vindman, a Ukraine-born policy expert, outlined in prepared remarks his disagreement with Trump’s attempts to force investigations into Democrats, saying, “I did not think it was proper,” and that Trump’s actions could endanger national security.

A former Trump National Security Council official said it’s wrong for Vindman, as an active-duty member of the Army, to criticize the commander in chief on policy.

“How is an active-duty military officer allowed to go to a different branch of government to take down the president with scurrilous claims?” he said. “I think the Army should be very concerned about what this means for discipline in the force. Basically, you have a political disagreement so you vomit mutiny.”

Jason Miller, a Trump ally who served in top communications roles for the 2016 Trump campaign and presidential transition, said Vindman clearly holds views on Ukraine policy that are at odds with Trump’s. GOP reps say Schiff stopped impeachment witness from answering certain GOP questions

By Fox News. House Republican leaders, in a fiery news conference Tuesday, said House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., prevented a witness in the latest impeachment hearing from answering certain questions from Republican members.

Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., and Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, told reporters that Schiff shut down a Republican line of questioning during a hearing with Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the latest current or former Trump administration official to come before Congress in relation to the impeachment probe.

“When we asked [Vindman] who he spoke to after important events in July — Adam Schiff says, ‘no, no, no, we’re not going to let him answer that question,”‘ Jordan said.

Jordan went on to say that Schiff seemed to be breaking his own rules for the hearings, implying the chairman was acting almost as a “lawyer” for Vindman.
