Trump Changes Mind on Gun Control

President Trump is pushing forward with a plan to arm teachers and improve background checks for gun purchases, but has retreated from his promise to raise the age limit to buy certain kinds of weapons, a move many see as caving to the National Rifle Assn.

Trump wrote on Twitter on Monday that there is “not much political support (to put it mildly)” for raising the age limit from 18 to 21 to purchase powerful rifles like the one used to kill 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., last month.

During a meeting with six students and families from the Florida high school in the White House last month, Trump pledged to be “strong” on increasing the age limit. A recent CNN poll found strong support for the idea, including among Republicans . . .

Rather than push for the comprehensive gun legislation he urged Congress to pass just last month, Trump now wants state and local officials to take the lead in setting age limits and other issues.

“States are making this decision,” Trump wrote Monday, making an apparent reference to Republican Gov. Rick Scott’s decision to sign a state law requiring gun buyers to be 21 and imposing a three-day waiting period on most gun purchases. (Read more from “Trump Changes Mind on Gun Control” HERE)

Will Trump Lawyers Stop Interview With Stormy Daniels?

Lawyers associated with President Donald Trump are considering legal action to stop 60 Minutes from airing an interview with Stephanie Clifford, the adult film performer and director who goes by Stormy Daniels, BuzzFeed News has learned.

“We understand from well-placed sources they are preparing to file for a legal injunction to prevent it from airing,” a person informed of the preparations told BuzzFeed News on Saturday evening.

It was not immediately clear what legal argument the lawyers would be making to support the considered litigation, and Trump and his legal team often have threatened litigation without following through on those threats in the past.

Michael Cohen, Trump’s personal attorney who previously was a longtime lawyer for the Trump Organization, directed questions about the possibility of litigation to Larry Rosen, who Cohen told BuzzFeed News is “my attorney handling this matter.” Rosen — a partner in the firm LaRocca, Hornik, Rosen, Greenberg & Blaha — acknowledged his role in the matter generally but did not comment directly on the possibility of seeking an injunction . . .

An action to try to prevent the interview from airing would be the latest in a flurry of developments in a case that began just before the 2016 election when Cohen paid Clifford $130,000 in return for her silence about a sexual relationship she allegedly had with Trump in 2006. At the time, Trump was under intense pressure over comments he’d made about his treatment of women in the run-up to the vote. CNN Anchor: Trump ‘Would Be Going Down as a Great President’

Wow … Yesterday evening, President Donald Trump stunned the world by agreeing to meet with despotic North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. As Jordan Schachtel outlined in his CRTV Dossier newsletter today, it is still too early to know if any meeting between Trump and Kim will turn out well. But it has caused even the anti-Trump MSM to take notice. For example, CNN’s Erin Burnett.

On her television program last night, Burnett remarked, “If President Trump can truly solve this problem, that would be going down as a great president and there’s no way around that. That is the reality here.” Our friends at NewsBusters have a full rundown of the “glowing praise” heaped upon Trump for the move by CNN and MSNBC types. Trump is unconventional, to say the least, but what if it is all planned to try to bring adversaries of all types to the table to actually solve problems?

This is expected … CNN’s Jim Sciutto – the former Obama administration official who doesn’t disclose that fact on the air – is being Jim Sciutto again. This time he tweeted out something hugely misleading about Trump and Russia. According to the Washington Examiner, Sciutto tweeted:

Breaking: Top US general in Europe: “I don’t believe there is an effective” US response to confront #Russian cyber threats – NATO Supreme Allied CMDR-Europe Scaparrotti

Here’s the thing. Scaparrotti didn’t say that. The Examiner shows how the comment was much more “nuanced,” but that doesn’t get you over 1500 retweets. So if you’re Sciutto, you stretch the truth and spread misinformation. That’s pretty much his stock in trade at this point.

The real deal on “collusion” … Despite Sciutto’s disinformation, the real deal on so-called Russian collusion is that people who actually understand Russia think it is all bunk. That’s the thesis of Tablet Mag’s Lee Smith, who explains, “Knowledgeable reporters on the left and right are frightened by the spread of an elite conspiracy theory among American media.” The key takeaway is that the anti-Trump press is “gleefully going along for the ride” on a conspiracy theory that has major holes in it.

Sloppy

Did he even look? … Once a darling of the conservative mediasphere, CNN’s Oliver Darcy is now just another soldier in CNN media critic/cheerleader Brian Stelter’s army of anti-conservative punditry. Here’s a recent case in point. Yesterday, Darcy wanted to call out The Daily Caller for not covering the Stormy Daniels lawsuit against Donald Trump. The only problem? The Caller did cover it, extensively. The story was on the home page for hours, and there were over a dozen stories at the Caller on the topic. The Caller’s Joe Simonson has the full story. It’s time to take off the blinders, Oliver.

A “disgrace” … On his radio program last night, LevinTV host Mark Levin sounded off on the MSM, whom he called a “disgrace” for protecting the Obama administration’s domestic political spying operation. As CR’s Chris Pandolfo recounts:

[Levin] reminded his audience that the Obama administration spied on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, spied on members of Congress, spied on Jewish organizations, spied on the Associated Press, and spied on reporter James Rosen and his parents, explaining that they were perfectly capable of spying on Trump’s team.

As I’ve been saying, the media are more interested in taking down President Donald Trump than they are in the truth. The media narrative is what needs protecting, not the American people.

Madness

It’s that time of year again. The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament selection is this Sunday, and the tournament tips off on Tuesday, March 13. Do you have a team? Or are you just blindly filling out a bracket in the hopes of winning some cold, hard cash? (Note: WTF MSM!? does not condone illegal sports gambling, no matter how fun it is.) Why Trump Is So Hated by Leftists

My brother expressed his disgust watching an animated TV show trashing Trump, titled Our Cartoon President. Incredibly, leftists have hijacked the airwaves and everywhere people gather to exploit as platforms to spread their vitriolic, insane hatred for Trump. Outrageously, TV coverage of the Olympics included leftist hatred for the Trump administration.

Despite the shocking discovery that leftist policies probably played a role in the deaths of 17 kids in the Florida school shooting, leftists continue puppet-mastering students to blame Trump.

Even Sunday worship has been hijacked by leftists to trash Trump. My brother asked the pastor of his all black church to please stop including a lie-filled Democrat-talking-points rant about Trump in his sermons.

Leftist disrespect and venomous hatred for President Trump is unprecedented, over the top, and boldly spewed 24/7. I wondered, why?

I reached out to prominent conservatives and Republicans for their thoughts. Why Trump Is So Hated by Leftists

VICTORIA JACKSON

I think Trump is hated by the left because his ideology, his words and actions, are the exact opposite of the left’s ideology. He is not a “globalist,” but loves America, our homeland; he knows that we can’t continue being the world’s number-one giver if we are not safe and successful ourselves. He knows that capitalism, not communism, will feed the poor; capitalism makes everyone richer, while communism makes everyone equally poor. He knows that free enterprise and less government regulation will provide jobs and boost our economy, not socialist handouts and overregulation.

He knows that less unemployment and getting out of debt will save our nation much more than wasting time and money on things like the scientifically unproven climate change hoax and its hidden goal of controlling the masses. He believes in individual freedom and responsibility, not government control. He’s not a secularist (new word for atheist, according to Julia Sweeney’s TED talk), but a defender of religious liberty, including Christianity. He is protective of Americans and not protective of our enemies, some of whom sneak into our midst through unenforced immigration law.

He thinks all lives matter, not just black lives; he respects the police, firefighters, and military instead of fanning the Saul Alinsky Rules for Radicals flames of violent civil unrest and class and racial warfare. He is not a saint, and he doesn’t pretend to be. He believes in free speech, not political correctness. The left is confused; leftists don’t know how to respond to a politician who speaks from the heart, not from talking points. The left hates Trump because the Tea Party loves him.

JUDSON PHILLIPS

Trump is hated the same way and for the same reason President Reagan was hated. He is a fighter, and he is moving a conservative agenda forward. The left did not like George W. Bush, but they did not hate him the way they hate Trump, because Trump believes in fighting and winning.

MYCHAL MASSIE

Why are the reprobates in both parties so averse to helping President Trump stabilize and protect what little of a future we have left? What is it that both political parties find so repulsive about protecting American citizens?

The answer is fairly easy to state, and more complex to explain in intricate detail. Ergo, I will simplify the explanation as much as possible. They are fighting President Trump because he is a threat to their “one-world government.”

President Trump’s victory in America has spawned a new generation of pro-nationalist leaders who refuse to be ruled by a heteronomous government that is handpicked in a wine- and cheese-filled room located in a hotel at some posh island retreat. Bush had great dreams for a North American-style European Union by implementing NAFTA, full amnesty, and open borders.

While we were marginally successful in stopping Bush, Obama destroyed any chance of making it happen because of his contemptible arrogance and his hedonistic wife, who viewed the American taxpayers as her American Express Card.

Notwithstanding, the bones of North America becoming the Western-type E.U. were still in place, and both parties knew that it was only a matter of time until they succeeded.

But then “Along Came Donald J. Trump.” Once again, the arrogance of the ruling elite thought We the People could be bullied and intimidated into doing as we were told. But this time, their schemes and machinations did not work because we saw in President Trump a man we could trust. And the power elite will never forgive President Trump nor will they forgive We the People for electing him.

JOE MILLER

As I explained in the run-up to the 2016 election here and here, I’ve always believed that Donald Trump is the Real Deal. That doesn’t mean I agree with everything he does or says. But there’s little question that the president is his own man. And that drives the Establishment crazy. The oligarchs want someone they can control. They rely on leveraged politicos to do their evil bidding, but Trump has given them no such foothold. So they use their Establishment-controlled media to foment hate against him. This fake news jihad is effective but will not stop Trump.

LARRY PRATT

He fights!

NINA MAY

Trump is hated not only by the left, but by the RINOs for the exact same reason: they can’t control him. They can’t intimidate or shame him as they do everyone else, and probably the most poignant and profound is that he believes in something greater than himself, than the state, than politics…and that is God.

I wish to thank these great patriots for their insightful input. Here’s why I believe that Trump is so hated by leftists.

Leftist hatred for Trump is rooted in their mission to undermine all things wholesome, godly, and good for America. Everything leftists do, in essence, gives the God of Christianity the middle finger. It is not coincidental that leftists hijack Christian symbols and institutions for their anti-God agenda.

For example: The rainbow was God’s promise to Noah to never again let floodwaters destroy all life. Homosexuals hijacked God’s rainbow to symbolize behavior God calls an abomination.

God created marriage as a holy union between one man and one woman.

Despite civil unions readily available to them, homosexuals successfully broke down marriage, resulting in every conceivable deviant configuration to eventually be legally declared marriage.

Trump in the White House is a miracle. Despite leftists’ 24-7 efforts to stop and destroy him, President Trump has remarkably implemented 64% of his Make-America-Great-Again agenda. Fasten your seat belts, leftists: Trump has only just begun. (Published with permission of the author, read more from Llyod Marcus HERE)

Magazine Inadvertently Exposed Trump Dossier Lie

A lengthy, glowing New Yorker magazine profile on the anti-Trump “dossier” author, Christopher Steele, reported the former MI6 agent knew that his work was funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

That claim conflicts with the FBI’s explicit statement in its October 2016 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance application that Steele was unaware of who financed his work for Fusion GPS, the opposition-research company hired by the Democrats’ law firm Perkins Coie, reports investigative reporter Sara Carter.

Former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe has testified to Congress that the dossier was essential to obtaining the warrant to spy on former Trump campaign volunteer Carter Page.

New Yorker writer Jane Mayer wrote that several months after Steele was subcontracted by Fusion GPS in the spring of 2016, he learned his research was being jointly subsidized by the Clinton campaign and the DNC.

But in a footnote on the warrant application to the FISA court on Oct. 21, 2016, the FBI stated “Source #1,” meaning Steele, was “never advised” as to “the motivation behind the research into Candidate #1’s (Trump’s) ties to Russia.” (Read more from “Magazine Inadvertently Exposed Trump Dossier Lie” HERE)

Trump Not Getting Rich as POTUS, Sees Staggering Drop on Forbes Richest List

President Donald Trump dropped over 200 spots on Forbes Billionaires List from his position last year.

Trump currently comes in at No. 766 for Forbes 2018 list with a net worth of $3.1 billion versus 2017 when he was No. 544 with $3.5 billion on his ledger.

This year’s drop follows another one of over 200 spots in 2017.

Trump announced his candidacy for president in June 2015 and clearly devoted much of his energy to winning the race.

Additionally, he stepped down as the Trump Organization’s CEO in December 2016, turning over the reins to his sons Donald Jr. and Eric.

Also to address the issue of the appearance of conflicts of interest, Trump’s attorney announced his organization would undertake no new foreign deals, while he was in office, which effectively shut down one avenue stream.

The Washington Times reports about half of Trump’s net worth — $1.5 billion — is in real estate. The next largest share — $560 million — is invested in his golf clubs and resorts.

According to Forbes, the president’s decline in net worth can be mostly attributed to the New York City real estate market.

“The rise of e-commerce has pushed down the value of properties like Trump Tower, which sits in the heart of shopping mecca Fifth Avenue in New York City,” Forbes reported. It estimated the value of the property has declined $41 million.

Additionally, longtime tenant Nike announced it is vacating approximately 65,000 square feet of retail space at Trump’s property at 6 East 57th Street.

However, on the positive side, profits have surged at other properties that Trump owns stakes in located in New York and San Francisco.

In his speech at the Republican Convention in July 2016, Trump’s son Eric noted his father would be making a sacrifice to run and to be president.

“So my father made the courageous decision to set aside a company to which he has dedicated his entire life, to set aside a global brand that he has made synonymous with success, with quality, with uncompromising … just the best,” Eric Trump said.

“At a time when people at the pinnacle of their career like my father would have held fast to a lifestyle that has truly become the epitome of the American dream, my father instead chose to give that dream back to the people it had eluded for so long,” he added.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, who tops the 2018 Forbes list, has done very well under Trump, surpassing Microsoft founder Bill Gates to become the wealthiest man in the world, with an estimated worth of $112 billion.

Bezos was the first person to ever surpass the $100 billion mark.

Gates’ net worth now stands at $90 billion, followed by Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett at $84 billion, French businessman Bernard Arnault with $72 billion and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg at $71 billion. Top Economic Adviser Resigns From Trump Team

White House chief economic advisor Gary Cohn has resigned from President Donald Trump’s administration.

The former Goldman Sachs president and free trade advocate Cohn, whose departure date will come in a few weeks, decided to quit after Trump announced he would impose stiff tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.

In a prepared statement, Cohn said, “It has been an honor to serve my country and enact pro-growth economic policies to benefit the American people, in particular the passage of historic tax reform.”

“I am grateful to the President for giving me this opportunity and wish him and the Administration great success in the future,” Cohn said.

In his own statement, Trump said, “Gary has been my chief economic advisor and did a superb job in driving our agenda, helping to deliver historic tax cuts and reforms and unleashing the American economy once again. (Read more from “Top Economic Adviser Resigns From Trump Team” HERE)

The Media Admits Trump Was Right

Crumbling narrative… The United States media has systematically denied the existence of “no-go zones” in Europe. These zones are areas that neither police nor citizens of those countries dare to go into. Take for example this piece in The Atlantic from 2015, “Why the Muslim ‘no-go zone’ myth won’t die.” Except it is not a “myth.” Just last week, German Chancellor Angela Merkel publicly recognized the existence of “no-go areas” in her country. NewsBusters has the details. For the media, these “no-go zones” are counter to the narrative; that’s why reporters just deny the very existence of something that has been provable for a long time.

Oh, THAT crime problem… In the same vein as the non-coverage of the “no-go zones” is the ever-escalating migrant violence problem in Sweden. PowerLine’s Paul Mirengoff recounts how the New York Times slammed President Donald Trump in February 2017 after his CPAC speech, in which he mentioned the Swedish crime problem. Now that very same New York Times has documented the horrific crime wave that Trump was talking about. How bad is it? Forget guns, as Mirengoff explains: “According to the Times, there have been more than 100 incidents involving military-grade explosives in the Stockholm metro area that police have attributed to an ‘arms race’ among immigrant gangs.” The apology from the Times to Trump must be in the mail.

What socialism? … On Sunday the New York Times’ Sunday magazine featured a profile of the Venezuelan opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez. In the long feature, the current problems of Venezuela are discussed. Our friends over at NewsBusters noticed a very peculiar thing, however. There was no mention of how socialism is at the root of the problems in Venezuela. It was completely glossed over. Again, many in the media believe in left-wing ideologies like socialism. Publishing information that shows socialism in a bad light is counter to their narrative.

Collusion delusion …

Shot
… The New Yorker magazine just published a lengthy profileChaser … In the second episode of LevinTV host Mark Levin’s new Fox News show, “Life, Liberty, & Levin,” House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R. Calif., appeared for the full hour. Levin and Nunes discussed how the Obama administration used Steele’s dossier to spy on domestic political opponents. It’s must-see TV. The American Thinker has an in-depth look at the interview, which it says “raises the bar.” Here’s what Nunes had to say about the media:

The media in this country is dead. It no longer exists, and the American people need to understand this. I don’t know where it’s going to all end – if it’s dead forever – but 90% of the media is far-left-wing, and they are totally reliant on getting clicks and playing to their base and to their owners to support what their owners want.

That sounds about right.

March sadness …

My beloved UMass-Lowell Riverhawks made the jump from NCAA Division II to Division I beginning in the fall of 2013. After a four-year probationary period, all teams are finally able to participate in the postseason. This weekend, after jumping out to a 49-38 halftime lead over the UMBC Retrievers, the UML men’s basketball team cratered and ended up losing by double digits. This is my first taste of what it feels like to have your team lose during what I’m calling March sadness. I have a feeling it won’t be the last. of Christopher Steele, the former British spy responsible for the DNC/Hillary Clinton campaign-funded Trump dossier. One of the claims made in the profile is that “Steele told friends that Trump supporters were using him as a ‘battering ram’ to ‘take down the whole intelligence community.’”

The piece is heavily slanted towards the narrative that any questions about Steele’s work, how FISA warrants were obtained, and the notion that Trump colluded with the Russians in 2016 are totally unwarranted. It tries to paint Steele, whose dossier has not been verified, in a good light. (For more from the author of “The Media Admits Trump Was Right” please click HERE)

Man Behind Vanessa Trump’s White Powder Attack Had Disturbing Ties to Dem Party

Daniel Frisiello, the man charged with sending envelopes with white powder to Donald Trump, Jr., donated to Democratic causes and expressed dislike of the president on social media.

Police arrested Frisiello in Beverly, Massachusetts, Thursday in connection with sending five cryptic, threatening but evidently harmless letters to Trump and other figures, including a sitting Democratic senator and a Republican congressional candidate.

All five envelopes also contained a mysterious white substance which reportedly sent Trump’s wife, Vanessa, to the hospital after she opened the letter.

“You are an awful, awful person,” the note to Trump, postmarked Feb. 7, said.

“I am surprised that your father lets you speak on TV. You make the family idiot, Eric (Trump), look smart. This is the reason why people hate you, so you are getting what you deserve. So shut the (expletive) UP!”

Frisiello made one donation of $75 to Act Blue in April 2016, earmarked for the Massachusetts Democratic State Committee, according to records from the Federal Election Commission.

The filing indicates that Frisiello was unemployed at the time.

Frisiello followed a number of progressive causes on Facebook, and according to his public profile, he frequently shared posts critical to President Donald Trump and Republicans, including one meme shared Nov. 7, 2016, the day before the election, which compared Trump to Adolf Hitler.

“Called it!” Frisiello commented on the image.

The other powder-filled envelopes Frisiello allegedly sent were addressed to Michigan Democratic Sen. Deborah Stabenow, the U.S. Attorney for California, a professor at Stanford Law School, and Antonio Sabato Jr., who recently announced his candidacy as a Republican for a California congressional district.

“All five envelopes contained a white powder,” officials said. “At this point, testing has determined the powder in each envelope to be nonhazardous.”

One Twitter user pointed out that, according to Frisiello’s Facebook, he is a fan of Rep. Adam Schiff and Joe Scarborough.

A version of this article appeared on The Daily Caller News Foundation website.

BETRAYAL: Trump Says Government Should ‘Take the Guns First, Go Through Due Process Second’

On Wednesday, President Trump met with Congressional Democrats and Republicans to discuss measures to bolster student security in the aftermath of the Parkland, Florida massacre. There, Trump proceeded to make an anti-Second Amendment statement so radical that it put President Obama’s gun control sermons in the shade.

“I don’t want mentally ill people to be having guns,” Trump said. He continued:

You have to do something very decisive. Number one, you can take the guns away immediately from people that you can adjudge easily are mentally ill, like this guy. You know, the police saw that he was a problem, they didn’t take any guns away. Now, that could have been policing. I think they should have taken them away anyway, whether they had the right or not. But I’ll tell you this, you have to have very strong provisions for the mentally ill.

Just in case you missed the part where Trump explicitly denounced due process of law, he repeated it again.

After Vice President Mike Pence explained that Republicans in Congress wanted legislation that could allow friends and family members to apply to a court to suspend Second Amendment rights for the dangerously mentally ill, and stated that with such due process, Second Amendment rights would not be endangered, Trump stepped in.
