Ted Cruz called Donald Trump a “sniveling coward” and told him to leave his wife “the hell alone” on Thursday after Trump retweeted an unflattering photo of his spouse, Heidi Cruz.
“It’s not easy to tick me off. I don’t get angry often,” Cruz told reporters while campaigning in Wisconsin. “But you mess with my wife, you mess with my kids, that’ll do it every time. Donald you are a sniveling coward and leave Heidi the hell alone.”
“Our spouses and our children are off bounds,” Cruz warned. “It is not acceptable for a big loud New York bully to attack my wife.”
The Texas senator said Trump is scared by “strong women” and that “real men don’t try to bully women” . . .
The rivalry between the two got increasingly personal this week after an anti-Trump super PAC made an ad featuring a photo shoot of Melania Trump from 2000 with the meme caption: “meet Melania Trump. Your next first lady. Or, you could support Ted Cruz on Tuesday.” (Read more from “You’ll Never Believe What Ted Cruz Just Called Donald Trump” HERE)

Thursday on ABC’s “The View,” former presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson defended his endorsement of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump against co-host Whoopi Goldberg’s charges of racism and sexism.
Whoopi Goldberg asked, “Sir, I hate to ask this question, but you have aligned yourself with a man who has bashed women, made countless racist remarks, and you’re Ben Carson. Why would you — why would you align yourself with that is this this?”
Carson answered, “Well, you know, you have to look at the good and the bad. There’s no perfect person.”
Goldberg said, “No, I know that.”
Carson continued, “But you look at when Donald Trump first went down to Palm Beach area and a lot of the clubs down there would not accept Jews and Blacks. He insisted on Jews and Blacks and helped to break that open. So, has he said some things that I wouldn’t say or that you wouldn’t say? Of course.” (Read more from “Whoopi Goldberg to Ben Carson: Why Support ‘Racist’ Trump? ‘That’s How Hitler Got In'” HERE)

By Fred Maxwell. Should front-runner Donald Trump fail to obtain the necessary 1,237 delegates to clinch its nomination, the Republican Party may have a contested convention.
According to a poll released Wednesday by Monmouth University, 54 percent of those expected to vote Republican believe if a contest convention takes place, Trump should receive the Republican presidential nomination.
When asked if another person should be nominated if Trump failed to garner the delegates needed, 34 percent said yes. When asked who should win the nomination in the event of a contested convention, 33 percent chose Sen. Ted Cruz, while 23 percent went for Ohio Gov. John Kasich. Sen. Marco Rubio earned 10 percent of the vote.
If Trump should fall short of the mark by a narrow margin, he has predicted his supporters would riot as well as sit out the election if he is not given the party’s nomination.
However, 43 percent of those polled said that even though they support Trump, they would cast their vote for whoever is the Republican nominee.
Trump has remained in the lead of the majority of preference polls for months, and according to the Monmouth survey, leads the overall Republican field with 41 percent of the support, followed by Cruz at 29 percent and Kasich with 18 percent. John Kasich Rejects a G.O.P. Call to Quit to Block Donald Trump
By Trip Bariel. Republicans desperate to stop Donald J. Trump from capturing the presidential nomination increased the pressure Wednesday on Gov. John Kasich of Ohio to quit the race, with Jeb Bush joining the growing number of party figures throwing their weight behind Senator Ted Cruz.
Mr. Kasich refused, saying that he, not the Texas senator, was the best option to stop Mr. Trump. But his argument was undercut by his dismal showings Tuesday in Utah and Arizona, where he won no delegates — as well as by the surprise endorsement Wednesday morning by Mr. Bush of Mr. Cruz.
Mr. Bush, who dropped out of the presidential race last month, is the latest mainstream Republican — following Mitt Romney and Senator Lindsey Graham — who is ideologically closer to Mr. Kasich, but whose embrace of Mr. Cruz is a strategic calculation that he has a better shot at stopping Mr. Trump. Hours after a deadly Islamic terror attack in Brussels, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump was asked by CNN host Wolf Blitzer to share his prescription for increased threats of violence in the U.S. and around the world. Building on several previous controversial statements, Trump confirmed on Tuesday that he wants to see members of the U.S. military permitted to engage in the torture of terror suspects.
Speaking specifically about Salah Abdeslam, a suspect in last year’s Paris attacks, the brash billionaire said he would “be talking a lot faster with torture.”
Trump went on to theorize that introducing, or re-introducing, certain intense interrogation techniques could be the key to fighting global terrorism. He did acknowledge, however, that there are some people for whom he believes torture should be off limits.
“You’re going to make certain exceptions,” he told Blitzer, “and exceptions on heads of state and some of these people, and I’m not saying we don’t do that. But we have a real problem and people don’t have any idea what’s going on” . . .
“We’re fighting by different rules,” he complained. “They have no rules or regulations and can blow people up, and have bombs so vicious with the nails and the glass and all the things come spewing out, blinding people and destroying people. And we have rules and regulations and we can’t waterboard because it’s a little bit of a tough thing.” (Read more from “Trump Just Doubled Down on Terror Comments by Calling on These US Laws to Be Changed” HERE)

Donald Trump escalated his feud with Ted Cruz on Twitter Tuesday — but this time he also involved the Texas senator’s wife.
The real estate mogul tweeted that the Texas senator should “be careful” or he would “spill the beans on your wife” Heidi Cruz.
“Lyin’ Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin’ Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!,” he tweeted Tuesday evening, just minutes before polls closed in Arizona. Trump tweeted and deleted a similar version of the Tweet about 10 minutes earlier.
Trump appears to be referring to a Facebook advertisement targeted to Mormons that shows Trump’s wife, Melania, posing nude. That ad was produced by an anti-Trump super PAC, Make America Awesome, which has no known connection to the Cruz campaign. (Read more from “Donald Trump Makes Wild Threat to Ted Cruz’s Wife” HERE)
Scott Baio has endorsed Republican frontrunner Donald Trump for president.
The 55-year-old Happy Days and Joanie Loves Chachi star made his endorsement in an interview with Fox News’ Judge Jeanine Pirro on Saturday.
“It’s very simple,” Baio told Pirro of his reasons for supporting Trump. “Because when he speaks, I understand him. He speaks like I speak, he communicates with people very well. I want him, as any one person can do, to go into Washington and blow it up.”
The conservative actor said he was “fed up” with the Republican Party, who said “lied and conned and BS’ed me,” and added that he no longer considered himself a Republican but a “conservative Independent.” (Read more from “Hollywood Actor Makes Trump Endorsement” HERE)

Former presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson stunned many when he endorsed Donald Trump for president. Just a few days later, Carson admitted he would not only be advising Trump during the presidential campaign, but could also play a possible role in a Trump administration.
Many speculated this would mean a cabinet position for the retired neurosurgeon, who has displayed a wealth of knowledge both in medicine and education. Yet it seems these speculations might have underestimated Carson.
Today it was announced that members of Carson’s campaign team are planning to meet in Palm Beach, Fla., to discuss the possibility of a Trump/Carson ticket.
The meeting, which will take place March 29, will include Ben Carson Jr., former Carson campaign chairman Robert Dees, ex-campaign manager Ed Brookover, treasurer Logan Delaney, and former senior adviser Mike Murray.
Brookover has recently joined the Trump campaign to lead a “delegate selection team,” suggesting the two sides have a strong working relationship.
According the multiple sources, the group will discuss a vice-presidential push as well as what to do with the 700,000-member mailing list Carson’s campaign compiled. (Read more from “Something BIG Was Just Revealed About Trump and Carson That Might Surprise a Lot of People” HERE)

For rent: Downtown apartment, 2 bedrooms. Includes organic garden space, hot tub, great backyard. You can bring your dogs if they have references as good as yours. If voting for Donald Trump, do not call.
Supporters of The Donald aren’t welcome at Mark Holmes’ rental on Main Street, indicated by this advertisement he placed in The Nickel last week.
The ad prompted some anonymous callers who disagreed with his political statement to leave hate messages on his voicemail.
His reasoning behind placing the stipulation in the ad is that he doesn’t know what to do anymore about the possibility that Trump might be elected, and he’s just had it . . .
Holmes said he was inspired to include the stipulation for a few reasons, including the fact that he doesn’t want to share a roof with Trump sympathizers who subscribe to Trump’s rhetoric, which has included controversial comments about banning Muslims from the country, building a wall to keep out illegal immigrants and encouraging violence at his rallies. Conservative movement professionals in Washington, D.C. are plotting to form a “blacklist” of Donald Trump supporters that they can kick out of the movement, never to return.
Several conservative talking heads and Beltway consultant types have been very angry about the rise of businessman Trump, who is pushing for American sovereignty, a reversal of neoconservative foreign policy, and competitive bidding for pharmaceuticals even though the drug companies that fund the Republican Party would take a financial hit.
So far, anti-Trump think pieces referencing William F. Buckley have been ineffective.Memes comparing Trump to Hitler haven’t worked. So these Republicans are getting more Nixon-y. They’re coming out with an Enemies List.
CNN contributor and former Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) spokeswoman Amanda Carpenter volunteered to take the lead in writing the list.
Has anyone compiled the definitive list of conservatives who should be blackballed for supporting Trump? I will if it doesn't exist.
But Carpenter, who once got called an “idiot” by Donald Trump, did not mention that she formerly defended Trump on numerous occasions. Luckily, savvy Twitter users pointed it out for her in the responses below her tweet. (Read more from “GOP Set to ‘Blacklist’ Trump Supporters” HERE)

By Eliza Collins. Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County is relishing the opportunity to host Donald Trump at a rally on his own turf Saturday — and serve as the muscle at the same time.
After taking a few days off from his long streak of attention-grabbing rallies, Trump is cranking back up this weekend, and has scheduled one of his events right in the backyard of the long-serving and controversial Arizona sheriff.
“Here I’m gonna be kinda wearing two hats — in charge of the security there in the town and also participating, I would imagine, with Trump in the rally, so it makes it interesting,” Arpaio said in an interview with POLITICO, adding that it “is going to be a lot of fun taking care of business there.”
Arpaio, who officially endorsed Trump back in January, said that he’s expecting protests at Saturday’s event. But the 83-year-old sheriff who has repeatedly been accused of racial profiling Hispanic residents says Trump’s clashes pale in comparison to his own. Latino, Immigrant Activists to Protest All Trump Arizona Events
By Griselda Nevarez. Hundreds of Latinos and immigrant rights advocates plan to protest Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump when he speaks this weekend at several campaign events in Arizona, which holds its presidential primary Tuesday.
Trump is scheduled to attend an event Saturday morning with Fox News anchor Sean Hannity in downtown Phoenix before traveling about 30 miles to another event in Fountain Hills. He’ll end the day with a rally in Tucson. Organizers say they’re working out the details as they plan to have a presence at all three of Trump’s events.
“We’re coming together to stand up against the hate and the violence that Donald Trump is inciting towards our people,” said Carlos Garcia, director of Puente Arizona, one of the groups helping to organize the protests.
Garcia said he and other protesters “will not be there to antagonize or to be anything less than nonviolent, but we do have to be careful.” He noted that in July, when Trump made his first presidential campaign stop in Arizona, Trump supporters yelled racial slurs at protesters. Some protesters were also spat on, shoved and hit by Trump supporters. (Read more from “Latino, Immigrant Activists to Protest All Trump Arizona Events” HERE)

Protesters Block Traffic Around Trump Rally
Dozens of protesters blocked traffic near a Donald Trump event in Arizona on Saturday, while demonstrators marched in New York City to protest the GOP front-runner.
The protesters in Arizona parked vehicles sideways on Shea Boulevard, blocking both lanes of traffic into Fountain Hills, where Trump held a rally Saturday afternoon, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Joaquin Enriquez told CNN.
Enriquez described Shea Boulevard as the main artery into the area and the protesters’ actions were causing motorists to drive into oncoming traffic as they tried to get around them. Traffic was backed up for miles due to the blockage. (Read more from Protesters Block Arizona Rally HERE)
