Trump Accuses Democrats of Leaking Intel Assessment of Iran Strikes: ‘They Should Be Prosecuted!’

President Trump claimed Thursday that congressional Democrats leaked a preliminary Pentagon intelligence assessment that questioned the impact of Saturday’s airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear program.

“The Democrats are the ones who leaked the information on the PERFECT FLIGHT to the Nuclear Sites in Iran. They should be prosecuted!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

It’s unclear if Trump has evidence pointing to a culprit as the FBI investigates the Tuesday leak of the Defense Intelligence Agency assessment drafted shortly after the strike that said Iran’s nuclear development may only have been set back months.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said shortly before Trump’s claim that Democrats in Congress may have been responsible — though she described no specific evidence and said no conclusions had been made.

“It could have been someone in the intelligence community, or it could have been someone on Capitol Hill who had access to this document. Trump Will Limit Sharing of Classified Information With Congress After Iran Bombing Document Leak

The Trump administration will limit the sharing of classified information with Congress in the wake of a high-profile document leak, the White House has confirmed to the Washington Examiner.

President Donald Trump maintains that last week’s Iran strikes totally obliterated that country’s nuclear program, but his claim has been undermined by a leaked internal document suggesting the nuclear program was set back by only a few months.

Trump’s White House has responded to the leak with a full-court press, pushing back furiously against the reports, opening investigations into the leak, personally attacking the reporters involved, and now limiting how much information it shares with Congress.

A White House spokesperson also pointed to statements press secretary Karoline Leavitt made Wednesday afternoon about an FBI investigation into the matter.

More Fear Budget Bill Will Just Add Crushing Debt

The drawn-out negotiations over President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act are giving fiscal hawks more time to build the case that it will just add to the nation’s oppressive $37 trillion debt, a potential threat to passage.

While the administration and GOP leaders have been making the case that the tax and spending legislation will lower the debt, an overwhelming 84% of likely voters said that they are concerned about the national debt.

And, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports survey shared with Washington Secrets on Wednesday, voters by a 2:1 margin believe that the bill will simply add to that debt.

The bill was passed by House Republicans and is in front of the Senate. Republican leaders hope to pass it out of the chamber by July 4, when House and Senate negotiators would meld one bill.

NATO Chief Praises ‘Daddy’ Trump: ‘Man of Peace’

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte on Wednesday welcomed President Donald Trump to the alliance summit at The Hague by praising him as a “man of strength,” a “man of peace,” and the “daddy” who got Iran and Israel to stop fighting like “two kids in a school yard.”

Rutte summed up the 12-Day War between Iran and Israel, saying, “They fight like hell. You can’t stop them. Let them fight for about two, three minutes. Then it’s easier to stop them. Then, daddy has to sometimes use strong language.”

The NATO secretary was making a humorous allusion to Trump’s use of profanity when he complained about Iran and Israel breaking the ceasefire he had negotiated.

“We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f**k they’re doing,” Trump grumbled to reporters on Tuesday.

Trump’s F-bomb was the most surprising bit of American ordnance to be dropped during the 12-Day War and, while the president was initially criticized for employing salty language in a public statement, he did manage to get everyone back onside with the ceasefire. House Already Defeats Plan to Impeach Trump Over Iran

After President Donald Trump announced an attack on Iran’s nuclear program over the weekend, Democrats were less than thrilled. More radical members, such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), even claimed that it was an impeachable offense, with she and the president going at it, including via social media posts. Rep. Al Green (D-TX), who is often ranting and raving against Trump, including when it comes to his plans to see the president impeached, actually filed articles to do with the War Powers Clause, after he had also filed unrelated articles in May. Such a plan failed on Tuesday afternoon.

Leading up to the impeachment vote, “Al Green” has been trending on X, as has been Trump and AOC going at it. Green’s failed effort is embarrassing enough. But it also doesn’t look like there’s much support for impeachment overall.

On the House side, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) certainly have criticized Trump for actions over the weekend. This has in particular come back to haunt Pelosi as she fawned over then President Barack Obama’s plans for regime change in Libya in 2011.

Yet both of these top House Democrats appear to be hesitant to go for impeachment. That even Pelosi acknowledges “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon,” which Trump has been clear and consistent about for years, reflects how Americans overall, even and including Democrats, are concerned about Iran.

Trump Lashes Out at Israel and Iran Amid Accusations of Ceasefire Violations

Trump, in more comments made to reporters ahead of the NATO summit in The Hague, said he was “not happy” that Israel fired fresh rockets at Iran.

“These guys got to calm down. Ridiculous,” Trump said.

The president said that he didn’t like “plenty of things” he saw, including “the fact that Israel went out this morning at all.”

“I’m not happy with Iran either, but I’m really unhappy if Israel’s going out this morning,” he added.

Earlier, Trump in a strongly-worded post on Truth Social urged Israel to refrain from striking Iran. “ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS. IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!” he wrote.

‘Go Ahead and Try Impeaching Me Again — Make My Day!’ Trump Mocks ‘Stupid’ AOC, ‘Low IQ’ Crockett

President Donald Trump mocked far leftist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and others — including “seriously low IQ” Democrat darling Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) — for wanting to impeach him, daring them to “MAKE MY DAY.”

In a lengthy Truth Social post Tuesday morning, Trump addressed Ocasio-Cortez’s recent call to impeach him over the successful airstrikes on Iran.

“The President’s disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote over the weekend. “He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations. It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.”

Trump shot back, deeming Ocasio-Cortez one of the “dumbest” people in Congress and noting that Democrats have already tried to impeach him twice before, to no avail.

“Stupid AOC, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, one of the ‘dumbest’ people in Congress, is now calling for my Impeachment, despite the fact that the Crooked and Corrupt Democrats have already done that twice before,” Trump began, noting that the Democrat is complaining because of recent U.S. victories.

Trump Heads to NATO Summit Demanding ‘Freeloading’ Allies Pay Their Fair Share

President Donald Trump departed for the annual NATO summit at The Hague on Tuesday, hoping to claim another major foreign policy victory as most NATO allies have already agreed to his demand to boost defense spending after the president called out the European nations for “freeloading” and taking advantage of American military protection.

NATO countries, except Spain, agreed in preliminary talks to increase defense spending to 5% of their gross domestic product, a significant increase from the previous 2% target that many allies struggled to meet.

The spending commitment is divided into two parts: 3.5% for traditional military spending, such as air defense and recruitment, while the remaining 1.5% can include infrastructure like roads and bridges that troops could use.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has resisted the spending increase, arguing that it would strain the country’s extensive welfare state.

“We fully respect the legitimate desire of other countries to increase their defence investment, but we are not going to do it,” Sanchez said. In 2024, Spain’s defense expenditure as a share of GDP stood at a measly 1.28%, the lowest of any NATO country. Trump Announces Ceasefire in Iran-Israel ’12 Day War’

President Donald Trump announced on Monday that Israel and Iran had agreed to a “complete and total ceasefire,” after 12 days of ongoing war between the two countries.

“CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final mission!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

“Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World. During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL,” Trump added.

Trump continued to offer his congratulations to Israel and Iran for having agreed to a ceasefire “on the assumption that everything works as it should.”

Poll: Majority Say Democrats Should Take ‘Wait and See Attitude’ Toward Trump’s Actions

A majority say Democrats should take a “wait and see attitude” toward President Donald Trump’s actions rather than immediately opposing everything he does, a June Harvard-Harris survey found.

The survey asked respondents, “Do you think Democrats should oppose everything that Trump is doing or should they take more of a wait and see attitude towards his actions?”

Across the board, a majority, 58 percent, said they want Democrats to take more of a wait and see attitude toward Trump’s actions. Another 42 percent said they want Democrats to oppose everything Trump does.

Predictably, options vary across party lines. Most Republicans and independents — 82 percent and 61 percent, respectively — believe Democrats should take a wait and see approach to Trump’s actions. However, most Democrats, 71 percent, said they want their fellow Democrats to oppose everything Trump is doing. Only 18 percent of Republicans agree with them, as do 39 percent of independents.
