Elon Musk Calls for Release of ‘QAnon Shaman’; Top Democrat on J6 Committee: We Actually Didn’t Review Any of the Surveillance Video

By Washington Times. Twitter CEO Elon Musk called for the release of Jan. 6 inmate Jacob Chansley, who was convicted and sentenced in November 2021 to a 41-month jail sentence for one felony count of obstruction of an official proceeding.

Best known as the fur- and horn-helmeted “QAnon Shaman,” Mr. Chansley was portrayed immediately after the attack on the U.S. Capitol as a dangerous figure who burst into the Senate chamber with his bullhorn.

“Free Jacob Chansley,” Mr. Musk quote-tweeted above a tweet of a resurfaced video of Mr. Chansley outside the capitol doors on Jan. 6, 2021. Mr. Chansley is telling protesters to listen to President Trump, who had tweeted that he wanted everyone to leave the Capitol grounds peacefully.

In a subsequent tweet, Mr. Musk said, “Chansley got 4 years in prison for a non-violent, police-escorted tour!?” He noted, “Dave Chapelle was violently assaulted on stage by a guy with a knife. That guy got a $3000 fine & no prison time.”

“Everybody go home. We made our points,” Mr. Chansley told the crowd through his bullhorn. He went on to read Mr. Trump’s tweet that implored the crowd to go home. (Read more from “Elon Musk Calls for Release of ‘QAnon Shaman’” HERE)

Top Democrat on J6 Committee: We Actually Didn’t Review Any of the Surveillance Video

By The Federalist. After Fox News host Tucker Carlson aired Capitol surveillance footage this week exposing yet more falsehood from the House Select Committee on Jan. 6 and leaving Democrats and their media allies irate, the committee chair on Wednesday said the panel never actually analyzed the crucial footage.

On Monday’s edition of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Fox News aired the footage of the riot on Jan. 6, 2021, undermining the select committee’s narrative of a “deadly insurrection.” Given access to the video by Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, Carlson’s team reviewed over 40,000 hours of footage, which offered proof the committee manipulated audio and video to dramatize the riot for its made-for-TV hearings in an election year.

But in a Wednesday night statement to CNN, select committee Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., claimed the panel never analyzed the blockbuster footage Fox News aired this week.

“I’m not actually aware of any member of the committee who had access,” Thompson said. “We had a team of employees who kind of went through the video.”

Hiring investigators who “kind of went through the video” doesn’t sound like a very thorough investigation. (Read more from “Top Democrat on J6 Committee: We Actually Didn’t Review Any of the Surveillance Video” HERE)

China Warns Elon Musk After COVID Lab Leak Comments

China is warning Twitter CEO Elon Musk against sharing posts that promote the lab leak theory of the coronavirus, suggesting that such commentary could hurt Tesla’s relationship with the company’s second-largest market.

The cryptic warning came on a social media post by the state-run Global Times newspaper. The writer was reacting to Musk commenting on a tweet that mentioned the Department of Energy’s conclusion that COVID-19 originated at a lab in Wuhan, China.

The original tweet, from the account “Kanekoa The Great,” questioned whether Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, was involved in the development of COVID-19 because he had funded “gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab.”

“He did it via a pass-through organization (EcoHealth),” Musk responded, referring to the nonprofit group that was awarded nearly $8 million in federal research grants to study bat coronaviruses in China. (Read more from “China Warns Elon Musk After COVID Lab Leak Comments” HERE)

Elon Musk Slams Dilbert Backlash as ‘Racist’ Against Whites (VIDEO)

Twitter CEO Elon Musk is slamming the fallout over Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams’ comments bashing Blacks as “racist” against whites.

Newspapers across the nation have dropped the Dilbert comic strip since Adams unleashed a tirade Wednesday on his YouTube program saying that white people should “get the hell away from Black people.” Adams also called Black people a “hate group,” adding: “I don’t want to have anything to do with them.” Adams has continued to defend his comments.

In a series of tweets responding to the uproar on Sunday, Musk insisted that “the media is racist,” and the backlash against Adams is “racist against whites.”

“For a *very* long time, US media was racist against non-white people, now they’re racist against whites & Asians,” Musk tweeted. “Same thing happened with elite colleges & high schools in America. Maybe they can try not being racist.”

Musk did agree with another tweet that said “Adams’ comments weren’t good,” but which also added that ” there’s an element of truth” to them. Musk indicated in another reply that media organizations promote a “false narrative” by giving more coverage to unarmed Black victims of police violence than they do to unarmed White victims of police violence. Elon Musk Hit Back at Ex-NASA Astronaut, Saying SpaceX’s Starlink Should Not Be Used to Help Fight the War in Ukraine

Elon Musk on Sunday lashed out at a former NASA astronaut Scott Kelly over the use of Starlink in Ukraine during the war with Russia.

SpaceX said in recent weeks that Ukraine can’t use its Starlink internet service for military purposes, such as to pilot drones, and has taken steps to prevent this, per Reuters.

Kelly tagged Musk in a tweet on Saturday, asking him to “restore the full functionality” of SpaceX’s Starlink internet satellites in Ukraine. Although SpaceX has limited Ukraine’s ability to use Starlink for military purposes, the service is still accessible for commercial use.

“Defense from a genocidal invasion is not an offensive capability. It’s survival. Innocent lives will be lost. You can help,” Kelly tweeted.

Musk told Kelly he was smart enough to “not swallow media & other propaganda bs.” He called Starlink the “communication backbone” of Ukraine, something he has said before. “But we will not enable escalation of conflict that may lead to WW3,” Musk tweeted. Musk Tweets Platform’s New ‘Values’ After Senator Jokes About Being Sent to Twitter Jail for Hunting Photo

Elon Musk on Tuesday said Twitter will henceforth be more accepting of different values after reinstating the account of Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., which was suspended over a hunting photo. . .

The tweet came shortly after the social media platform reinstated Daines account, which was suspended Monday night after the senator from Montana posted a picture of him and his wife after a “successful Montana antelope hunt.”

Daines said he received a notification Twitter locked his account for displaying “graphic violence.” The issue was resolved Tuesday afternoon.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, shared a photoshopped image of Daines appearing to pose for a mugshot while holding the photo that got his Twitter account suspended. Cruz captioned: “#FreeSteveDaines.”

Facebook’s Decision on Trump Ban Will Probably Infuriate Liberals

Donald Trump has now been fully reinstated on social media. Twitter released him from the bonds of political correctness jail upon Elon Musk’s takeover. Facebook and Instagram have now followed, insisting that “new guardrails” will be constructed to “deter repeat offenses” (via NBC News):

Former President Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts are being reinstated, the social media giant Meta announced Wednesday — a little more than two years after he was suspended from the platforms over incendiary posts on the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol.

Nick Clegg, president of global affairs at Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, said Trump’s accounts will be reinstated “in the coming weeks” and come with “new guardrails in place to deter repeat offenses.”

Those guardrails will include “heightened penalties for repeat offenses — penalties which will apply to other public figures whose accounts are reinstated from suspensions related to civil unrest under our updated protocol. In the event that Mr. Trump posts further violating content, the content will be removed and he will be suspended for between one month and two years, depending on the severity of the violation,” Clegg said on the company’s website.

Elon Musk Says He Suffered ‘Major Side Effects’ From Booster Shot, Felt Like He Was ‘Dying for Several Days’ — But His Healthy Cousin Fared Worse

Elon Musk admitted Friday evening to suffering “major side effects” after he received his second COVID booster shot — a shot he indicated was obligatory on account of business travel.

This admission came after Rasmussen Reports published recent survey results revealing both the apparent prevalence of vaccine side effects and the majority desire for a congressional investigation into how the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) handled vaccine safety. . .

In a follow-up Twitter post referencing these takeaways, Rasmussen posed the question, “How many people does CDC estimate had major side effects?”

Elon Musk responded to the post after it had been retweeted by Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams, providing a brief personal account of the troubles he faced after receiving his second booster shot.

Musk wrote, “I had major side effects from my second booster shot. Felt like I was dying for several days. Hopefully, no permanent damage, but I dunno.”

Elon Musk Says ‘Pendulum Has Swung a Bit Too Far’ on Gay Movement

Tesla and Twitter CEO Elon Musk commented on the gay movement on Thursday.

. . .Musk reacted to a video by a Twitter user which featured a National Hockey League (NHL) analyst commenting on Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov’s refusal to wear a Pride-themed jersey recently.

The analyst said, “Ivan Provorov can get on a plane any day he wants and go back to a place where he feels more comfortable.”

The commentator then made a suggestion that Provorov should go back to Russia and “get involved” in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Musk said in response to the video, “The pendulum has swung a bit too far.” (Read more from “Elon Musk Says ‘Pendulum Has Swung a Bit Too Far’ on Gay Movement” HERE)

Musk Vows to Disclose Censorship Practices and Make Twitter Code Open to Public

Billionaire and current Twitter CEO Elon Musk laid out a time frame for making Twitter’s recommendation code open source and publicly labeling shadowbanning Friday.

Musk is vowing to enact those changes “no later than next month.” It appears to be an effort to cultivate public trust and make good on his prior commitments to the company to make its algorithms open source, meaning available for the public to inspect.

Account status is expected to show whether a tweet or account is being throttled due to violations of Twitter policy. Currently, Twitter notes when accounts or tweets were suspended or removed but does not divulge when content is “shadowbanned” or devalued in its algorithms to curtail the spread of flagged material on the platform.

“Twitter is working on a software update that will show your true account status, so you know clearly if you’ve been shadowbanned, the reason why and how to appeal,” Musk explained in December. (Read more from “Musk Vows to Disclose Censorship Practices and Make Twitter Code Open to Public” HERE)

Who Will Become Twitter’s Next CEO After Elon Musk Steps Down?

Since Elon Musk’s announcement earlier this month that he plans to step down from his CEO position at Twitter sometime in the near future, rumors have surfaced about who might become his successor. . .

On December 18, Twitter CEO Elon Musk created a poll on the social media platform asking his 123 million followers if he should resign from his position. Regardless of the outcome, he vowed to abide by the results.

Over 57% of voters declared that Elon Musk should step down. A few days later, Musk confirmed his future resignation. . .

More likely candidates include several people from Musk’s inner circle, such as entrepreneur Jason Calacanis, Craft Ventures partner David Sacks, Boring Company President Steve Davis, and research scientist Lex Fridman.

Jason Calacanis, one of Musk’s closest friends and allies, is an entrepreneur, angel investor, podcaster, and writer. While Calacanis does not hold an official role at Twitter, he has previously expressed interest in becoming CEO, according to a text exchange between Calacanis and Musk.
