The Church of England (CoE) confirmed Sarah Mullally as its first female archbishop Wednesday.

Mullally’s appointment to the position of archbishop was first announced in October. The Anglican Communion has “tens of millions of members,” according to the CoE’s official website.

The archbishop of Canterbury “[leads] the vision and direction of the Church of England,” according to the CoE’s website.

Mullally has expressed liberal stances on certain biblical issues.

England Forced to Hire Health Aides to Care for Increasing Number Inbred Children; Parliament Refuses to Ban Incest

The NHS has begun hiring midwives and nurses specializing in managing genetic conditions resulting from cousin marriages, with salaries reaching £50,000, as the controversy around such unions resurfaces in Parliament.

These roles, found in trusts across England, aim to address the higher rates of birth defects observed in children born to closely related parents.

The positions involve supporting families with education on genetic risks and advocating for increased genetic testing. MailOnline reported that numerous NHS employers were hiring for the role.

This development occurred when Richard Holden, a Conservative MP, introduced a Private Members’ Bill seeking to ban cousin marriages, citing the associated health risks. . . .

Pentagon: Mysterious Drones Spotted Near Key U.S. Military Sites in England

Mysterious drones were spotted last week near three military bases in England that are used by American forces, Pentagon officials said Sunday, the latest in a string of troubling incidents involving unidentified craft flying around sensitive U.S. military sites.

U.S. Air Forces Europe said the drones were seen last week near the bases RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall and RAF Feltwell. U.S. Air Force personnel operate out of each location and the American detachments there are a key piece of U.S. combat capabilities in Europe.

The revelations come just days after the Defense Department revealed in a major report that strange drones were seen flying over U.S. nuclear infrastructure, weapons and launch sites at least 18 times between May 2023 and June 1 of this year. Earlier this year, an unexplained drone swarm also flew over Langley Air Force Base in Virginia.

Pentagon officials offered little detail on the nature of the drones seen in England last week. The U.S. military monitored the objects after they were spotted, officials said, though they offered no explanation of who may have been behind the incursions or what their intentions were.

Same-Sex Marriages to Receive Blessings in the Church of England

Same-sex marriages will receive “prayers for God’s blessing” for the first time in the Church of England following a vote at the General Synod, the legislative body of the established church of England.

On Thursday, the three houses of the Synod voted in favour of officially recognising gay marriages for the first time, with priests now being empowered to give their blessings to such unions.

The vote was overwhelmingly approved by the House of Bishops, which supported the measure by a margin of 36 to four, with two members of the house abstaining from the vote. However, the issue was far more contested amongst the lower houses of the Synod, with the House of Clergy backing the measure by a vote of 111 to 85, with three abstentions, and by the House of Laity which supported the move by a margin of 103 to 92, with five abstaining members.

In a joint statement, the two most senior bishops in the Church, Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and Stephen Cottrell, the Archbishop of York said: “It has been a long road to get us to this point.

In England, Praying Outside an Abortion Clinic Can Be a Jailable Offense

Just in time for Christmas, an English woman has been arrested for directing her thoughts to God in public. Isabel Vaughan-Spruce was interrogated, searched, and jailed for praying in silence on a public street in Birmingham, England. Her crime? She is alleged to have violated a local law establishing a so-called “buffer zone” banning prayer, even silent prayer, in the vicinity of an abortion facility.

“Buffer zones” would more appropriately be described as censorship zones. More befitting a totalitarian state, they are an extreme violation of fundamental freedoms.

Isabel’s arrest happened at the same time that a bill is being hotly debated in the Parliament of the United Kingdom that would roll out nationwide censorship zones. Where these zones are already in place, such as in Birmingham, the abuses have been egregious. Their existence indicates a rapidly escalating trend to criminalize the freedoms of expression and religion in the U.K. — essentially, the policing of inner thoughts.

On December 15, Isabel, the director of March for Life U.K., was charged with four counts of failing to comply with Birmingham’s Public Space Protection Order, which came into effect in September of this year. The order is based on the eerily titled Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act of 2014. It prohibits “protesting, namely engaging in any act of approval or disapproval or attempted act of approval or disapproval, with respect to issues related to abortion services, by any means” in a restricted zone encompassing several streets around an abortion facility. Country’s National Health Service Abandons Gender-Affirming Model of Care

After conducting a systematic review of evidence, England’s National Health Service has proposed new guidelines for treating trans-identifying youth, abandoning their previous endorsement of the “gender-affirming” model of care for a more cautious approach to treating gender dysphoria in minors.

The NHS now recognizes that children and adolescents identifying as transgender may be experiencing a “transient phase” and warns that doctors should not encourage them to change their names and pronouns, as “social transition” is not a “neutral act” and could have “significant effects” in terms of “psychological functioning.”

The new guidelines “reflect evidence that in most cases gender incongruence does not persist into adolescence” for young children. The guidance states that instead of encouraging transition, physicians should take “a watchful approach,” directly contrasting the American Academy of Pediatrics’ 2018 policy, equating “watchful waiting” with a “harmful” form of “conversion therapy.”

The NHS guidelines indicate that services will now be led by medical doctors rather than therapists, and will consider the impact of autism and other common co-occurring mental health issues. The new guidance also bans the use of puberty blockers in patients under 18, making exceptions only in certain cases for strict clinical trials. Woke Church of England Refuses to Define the Word ‘Woman’

The Church of England refused to offer up a definition of a woman, arguing that recent developments required “additional care” when attempting to define the word.

“There is no official definition, which reflects the fact that until fairly recently definitions of this kind were thought to be self-evident, as reflected in the marriage liturgy,” Senior Bishop Rt Rev Robert Innes said when asked to define the word, according to reporting from GB News.

Innes’ remarks came in response to a question posed by lay member Adam Kendry during the General Synod, who asked: “What is the Church of England’s definition of a woman?”

The Bishop argued that the definition of a woman used to be “self-evident” but no longer had a simple answer.

Woman With Spina Bifida Sues Mom’s Doctor for Millions, Says She Never Should Have Been Born

An English woman with spina bifida is suing her mother’s former doctor for millions of dollars in health care costs and damages claiming that she should never have been born.

Evie Toombes, a 20-year-old equestrian show jumper from Lincolnshire, is suing her mother’s general practitioner, Dr. Philip Mitchell, for “wrongful conception” after he allegedly failed to advise her mother to take folic acid supplements before getting pregnant that she claims resulted in her birth defect, according to The Telegraph.

Toombes was diagnosed with lipomyelomeningocele after her birth in November 2001, a neural tube defect to the spine. Her bones never properly developed along her spinal cord causing permanent disability.

She claims that her mother never would have had her if her doctor had informed her that she needed to take folic acid supplements to minimize the chances of the defect affecting her baby.

Her attorney, Susan Rodway, told the UK High Court judge that Toombes was suing for “having been born in a damaged state” and wants to recover millions of dollars needed to cover the costs of living with her condition. UK Government Urging People to Wear Three Layer Masks

Susan Hopkins, a specialist in infectious diseases at Public Health England, said that Britons should wear masks made with at least two, or even three, layers, and left open the possibility that the UK might follow the U.S.’s lead and recommend double masking.

The British government made wearing masks, or any kind of face covering, in shops mandatory in July 2020, with the government advising they be made with at least two layers of fabric.

Responding to a question on U.S. President Joe Biden ‘double masking’, Dr Hopkins said during a Downing Street press briefing on Monday: “The more layers you have, the better.”

“What we recommend is at least two layers and ideally three layers in a mask. That is really important to reduce the virus transmission both from you to others and others to you,” Hopkins added, according to The Times.

She then appeared to suggest that double masking could be coming to the United Kingdom, describing discussions about mask regulations as “ongoing”: “We have got a facemasks and face coverings advisory group who meet on a regular basis and look at new and emerging evidence. UK Govt: Lockdown Likely to Last 12+ Months, ‘Hard Winter’ Coming, Repeated Vaccinations May Be Required

Lockdowns won’t end until anticipated vaccines “come to our aid” in the future and the country can expect a “hard winter”, the Prime Minister has said, as the government’s science advisor warned it is quite possible the coronavirus will simply mutate to outperform vaccinations.

Speaking at the Downing Street press conference hours after the details of the new post-lockdown-lockdown were revealed to the country, Prime Minister Boris Johnson made clear to the nation that there was no reasonable hope of lockdown ending soon, saying merely that there was “reason to hope” that spring would see an end of “this era of restrictions”.

Given the United Kingdom’s regime of lockdowns began in March 2020, it stands to reason that the Prime Ministers remarks confirm that the nation’s lockdown will be in place with varying degrees of intensity for at least a full calendar year.

As England emerges from the so-called second lockdown running into early December and heads straight into tighter-than-before tiered regional lockdowns, the Prime Minister also teased that things stand to get worse before they improve. Johnson said: “to get there we must first navigate a hard winter, when the burden on our NHS is heaviest, and cold weather favours the virus… If we ease off now, we risk losing control all over again.” . . .

Yet subsequent comments by the science experts flanking the Prime Minister at Thursday’s conference made clear that the arrival of a vaccine would not necessarily herald the end of Covid-19 as repeat vaccinations may, in the eyes of the government, be required in return for allowing society to re-establish itself.
