Get Wrecked: The Moment Where This Liberal Feminist Realized a Big Thesis in Her Book Was Wrong

We all make mistakes. Some are bigger than others. When that happens, you need to fix it and acknowledge it immediately. Yet, it gets to become rather embarrassing, disastrous actually, when you realize that virtually your entire body of work is wrong because you screw up the legal term. That’s what happened to Naomi Wolf’s latest book, “Outrages: Sex, Censorship and the Criminalization of Love.”

Wolf wrote that scores of executions were carried out in the 19th century for homosexual behavior. Ms. Wolf also didn’t know a key sodomy case in her book was actually in reference to child sex abuse. Oh, and “death recorded” also threw her off (via Daily Beast) [emphasis mine]:

During the interview with journalist Matthew Sweet, Wolf realized she’d made two huge errors in her book. The host pointed out two serious problems with her work. First, she assumed “sodomy” means homosexuality, but Sweet pointed out that, in one key case in her book, it was referring to child sex abuse. Second, she mistakenly believed the 19th-century legal term “death recorded” meant the convict was executed, but it actually meant a death sentence wasn’t carried out because the prisoner was pardoned and freed. So Wolf’s claim that there were “several dozen” executions for homosexuality appears to be based on a complete misunderstanding of old court records. “I don’t think any of the executions you’ve identified here actually happened,” said Sweet.

Teacher Threatened Mass Shooting to Empower Women to Be Serial Killers in New #Metoo Movement, Police Say

By The Daily Wire. Authorities in Las Vegas arrested a high school teacher after she threatened to shoot up a concert so she could start a new #MeToo movement aimed at empowering women to become serial killers.

Bonanza High School teacher Leslie McGourty, 48, was arrested earlier this month on terrorism charges after she threatened to “poke a lot of holes in a lot of people” at a concert in Las Vegas in text messages she sent to her friend. . .

“A perfect plan with my favorite song surrounded by a bunch of f****** up misfits like I am,” McGourty wrote in a text message. “Imagine knowing exactly the moment that you’re going to die. I know exactly that your favorite song will be playing. By your favorite band. It’s just too perfect.”

The Metropolitan Police Department decided to arrest McGourty at her home on May 16, three days before the concert, but she wasn’t there; she was at school teaching.

“It was at that point we made the request for (Clark County School District police) to immediately take Leslie into custody and to be removed from the classroom,” the police report states, according to the Review-Journal. Police Report: Bonanza Teacher Threatened Shooting at Las Vegas Bar

By The Las Vegas Journal. Leslie McGourty was arrested on school grounds May 16 after her friend reported to Las Vegas police that she had threatened to kill herself and others during an ongoing conversation over text messages. The 48-year-old woman, who, according to public employment records, appears to have been a physics teacher, faces a felony charge of making a threat to commit an act of terrorism.

The text message exchange that landed her in police custody started early May 15 and extended late into the night, documents show.

In the series of text messages detailed in her arrest report, McGourty had repeatedly romanticized “being remembered” and said she hoped to start another #MeToo movement, “but this time in which women feel empowered enough to become serial killers.” . . .

Police also noted in the report that detectives “did not get much of a reaction from her” when they read excerpts from the text messages to her.

This Week’s Best ‘Feminist’ Moments — and How They Put Women to Shame

This week was one for the history books! From International Women’s Day being overshadowed by the A Day Without a Woman strike, to a paper towel campaign sure to empower aspiring housewives, it’s hard to choose the moment from this week that best proved how far women’s rights have truly come. There are just too many! Let’s take a look.

Feminism for the Kitchen

On Tuesday, the day before International Women’s Day (sorry — #ADayWithoutAWoman), the paper-towel company Brawny debuted its limited-time ad campaign “celebrating strong women who inspire us all.” How? By putting a woman on its paper towel packaging!

This move is truly brilliant. After all, I know that I personally, as a woman, constantly felt belittled walking past Brawny’s paper towel packaging in Wal-mart with that plaid-wearing man staring me down and telling me that I’m weak. Kind of like how I feel when my husband washes the dishes. As if I’m not strong enough to do those dishes myself!

Brawny’s “strength has no gender” campaign gives me hope that one day, my husband will also get a “feminist makeover” and acknowledge that “women can be ‘brawny’ too.” Maybe then he’ll stop viewing me as some weakling and will let me clean the kitchen by myself for once.

Feminist Fashionista Victim

Friday morning National Review did us all a favor by showing us this stunning and, frankly, sobering photo of one of the “victims” of America’s backward, sexist, oppressive culture. Just look at the tweet below.

This woman, marching in New York while presumably striking from a job for which she is underpaid, is obviously dedicated to the feminist cause since she is wearing red (beautiful shade, might I add). The fact that her eyebrows, peaking defiantly above those daring sunglasses, appear to have been recently groomed to perfection proves how above and beyond she is willing to go for a feminist photo-op.

But I think the icing on the cake — the thing that really shows her dedication — is that Michael Kors jacket she’s flaunting. (While there is no way of knowing exactly how much was paid for this piece of rally garb, a quick Google search reveals that other jackets in the popular designer line run between $200-$1,000.) Inspiring!

It’s easy to see that life is hard for this victim of oppression. It was brave of her to show up Wednesday.

TIME Celebrates Female Accomplishment

On Thursday, TIME Magazine, the same publication that featured Hillary Clinton’s “The Future is Female” speech and recently reminded us that “women are shouting at the tops of their lungs” for equality, tweeted that Amal Clooney “shows off her baby bump at the United Nations.”

Incidentally, Clooney was at the U.N. as a lawyer representing a victim of ISIS crime, admonishing world leaders “to stand up for justice.” Nice, I guess, but not as important as her baby bump!

I’m just glad, especially since it’s National Women’s History month, that TIME is dedicated to reminding us women that our career accomplishments matter. As famed feminist Gloria Steinem told Newsweek, “All over the world we are struggling as females to be valued for our brains as well as our wombs.”

All Kidding Aside — There is a War on Women

It’s amusing to laugh at these feminist faux pas, but I think they underscore just how ridiculous and even counterproductive the modern American feminism movement has become, considering that a very real and violent war rages against millions of women all over the world.

I have no shame in calling myself a feminist, since I wholeheartedly endorse and refuse to ignore its true definition. I understand, however, that many women today don’t want to identify themselves as a “feminist,” given that the liberal political agenda is not only hijacking the term, but putting women everywhere to shame.

Claiming that not having access to abortion is “violence” while women like Yue Zhang are held down on an operation table and their children aborted against their will puts us to shame. Demanding free birth control while women and girls are mutilated and forever prevented from experiencing sexual pleasure puts us to shame. Walking out of your job while other women wish they were legally permitted to drive a car puts us to shame.

Is there sexism in America today? Of course (unfortunately, there always will be). But unlike so many females around the world, we already have all the empowerment we need to fight back, work hard, and prove the sexists, misogynists and chauvinists wrong.

Maybe we can start by looking into organizations dedicated to helping our sisters around the world, or by helping our under-privileged American sisters reach the opportunities available to them. No man — not even the president of the United States — is preventing us from doing so. Nothing More Feminist Than Self-Defense, Gun Rights Advocate Says

A panel of women said that gun rights should be a feminist issue Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC.

During the discussion, Antonia Okafor, a student at the University of Texas at Dallas and campus carry advocate, said gun rights—and the ability to independently protect yourself—are the very epitome of feminism.

“How much more feminist can you get than by talking about self-defense and advocating for that,” Okafor said.

Gun advocates Kimberly Corban, Ashlee Lundvall, and Kristi McMains joined Okafor on the panel moderated by Townhall.com editor Katie Pavlich.

“We need to let women know it’s OK, it’s prudent, it’s legal, it’s moral to carry a gun for self-protection, in fact, it could save your life, because it saved mine,” McMains said.

McMains said she was attacked in a parking garage last year, and she used her concealed weapon to successfully fight off an attacker.

McMains spoke about the side of the gun control debate she said often goes unaddressed—how guns save lives.

“You can become a victim of violence anywhere, anytime, and therefore I should be able to save my own life anywhere, anytime,” McMains said. “When the time comes, should we need to, we’re gonna use [a firearm] to save our lives.”

Corban, a sexual assault survivor and vocal supporter of gun rights, said both the fear and curiosity surrounding guns can be alleviated through education.

“[Education] in it of itself is going to make a better firearms community, a better community in general,” Corban said.

“That’s the feminist movement, right?” she continued. “We want women to be educated and empowered, and feel like they can do anything and watch them do it.”

Corban said she hopes women will realize that guns are empowering, not something to be afraid of.

“Someone else already took my power away and I’m going to take it back,” Corban said.

According to a report from the National Rifle Association, women are the fastest-growing group of gun owners in the country. In 2011, 23 percent of women self-reported as gun owners, a 10 percent increase from 2005, a Gallup poll found. Additionally, 42 percent of women who own a firearm own at least three.

CPAC, the largest annual national gathering of conservative activists, runs from Wednesday to Saturday at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, just outside Washington. Once Again, Feminists Silence Pro-Life Women

It’s 2017 and women are still being silenced.

The twist is that it’s now by other women.

The Women’s March on Washington, scheduled to occur the day after President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration, had listed a pro-life group, New Wave Feminists, as a partner organization. After The Atlantic highlighted the group’s participation as a partner in the march, the Women’s March took the group off the list, saying its inclusion had been an “error.”

“The protest is pro-choice and that has been our stance from Day One,” the Women’s March said in a statement. “We want to assure all of our partners, as well as our participants, that we are pro-choice as clearly stated in our Unity Principles. We look forward to marching on behalf of individuals who share the view that women deserve the right to make their own reproductive choices.”

Never mind that the event’s organizers had told The Daily Signal’s Kelsey Harkness in December that pro-lifers were welcome to participate in the Women’s March. “The message is not whether a person is pro-life or pro-choice,” said march organizer Tamika Mallory at the time.

It wasn’t entirely surprising they caved. Since Mallory spoke to The Daily Signal, Planned Parenthood has become a partner. And after The Atlantic published its article about the New Wave Feminists’ inclusion, liberal feminists tweeted their dismay:

The exact mission of the Women’s March, which started with Hawaii grandmother Teresa Shook’s Facebook comment on election night that “I think we should march,” has been somewhat … nebulous from its inception.

“What sparked the need for this movement was the rhetoric of the campaign was so demeaning to women,” Shook told ABC’s “Good Morning America” in an interview. “I just felt women needed to stand up and say, ‘Here we are, hear our voice, we’re strong, we’re empowered, and we’re not going away.’”

But regardless of the mission that the event organizers finally settled upon—(assuming they did settle on one—the Women’s March is now in trouble with liberal feminists for removing a statement on rights for sex workers)—it shouldn’t be called the Women’s March if it isn’t meant to be inclusive for all women.

As much as the left (and some of their cheerleaders in the media) love to portray women as a unified bloc of pink-wearing Planned Parenthood cheerleaders who cherish no political right as much as they do the right to abortion, the political reality is far more complicated.

Four out of 10 women in America think abortion should be “illegal in all/most cases,” according to a poll released last year by the Pew Research Center. And two-thirds of women voters support legislation that would ban abortions after 20 weeks, except if the mother’s life is in danger or in cases of rape and incest, according to a November poll commissioned by the Susan B. Anthony List, a pro-life organization.

In other words, the pro-choice position of the “Women’s March” is excluding a lot of American women.

And unfortunately, that’s all too common. In our political discourse, it’s regularly assumed that all women agree with the Lena Dunhams of the world.

It doesn’t matter how many women passionately believe that both female and male unborn children deserve the right to life, despite being small and dependent. It doesn’t matter how many women think all women deserve something better than the kind of treatment delivered by Dr. Kermit Gosnell, under whose care a woman undergoing a second-trimester abortion died.

It doesn’t matter how many women think that what can best help a woman facing an unexpected pregnancy is financial support and personal care, the kind delivered by pregnancy centers across the country—not a push that she end the life of her child.

Or at least that doesn’t matter to the liberal feminists who constantly demand pro-life women be excluded.

It’s time the left accept that women have a diversity of views on many issues, including on abortion.

And if liberal feminists are sincere about women’s rights, they’ll realize that means that all women, not just those they agree with, deserve a seat at the table (or a place in the march) to represent their views. Feminist: Toddler’s Gator Death ‘Social Justice’

On Tuesday night outside a Walt Disney World hotel, a 2-year-old boy was snatched by an alligator and dragged into a lagoon in front of his vacationing parents. The father, attempting to rescue his baby boy, wrestled the alligator in vain. Tragically, the toddler was found dead on Wednesday.

Upon the report of the gut-wrenching incident, a disgusting racist feminist known as “Brienne of Snarth” on Twitter felt the need to voice her reprehensible views on the matter. She didn’t care that the 2-year-old was killed in front of his family. After all, the father—suffering through undoubtedly the worst tragedy he will ever face—was a white male.Therefore, the toddler’s death was an act of “social justice,” according to the feminist.

Brienne of Snarth commented: “I’m so finished with white men’s entitlement lately that I’m really not sad about a 2yo being eaten by a gator bc his daddy ignored signs.”

The account has since been deleted, but journalist Paul Joseph Watson captured the tweet by screenshot:

The Founder of a Major Feminist Group Just Made an Announcement to Christians That Will Definitely Surprise You

Sara Fernanda Giromini first made herself known to Brazil and to the world under the alias “Sara Winter” in 2012, when she became the founding member of Femen Brazil, and led a trio of girls in a number of topless protests that garnered much media attention. However, only three years later, the young activist has done an about-face and has declared war on feminism and abortion, and is apologizing to Christians for her offensive behavior. She has also published a short book detailing the abuse and disappointment she suffered at the hands of fellow feminists.

Giromini’s changing attitudes were first revealed in October of this year, when she expressed her repentance for an abortion that took the life of her first child, and acknowledged that the recent birth of her second child had changed her attitudes regarding the right to life.

“I have repented of having had an abortion and today I ask for forgiveness,” wrote Giromini. “Yesterday marked one month after the birth of my baby and my life has taken on a new meaning. I’m writing this while he sleeps serenely on my lap. It is the greatest sensation in the world.”

“Please, women who are desperate to abort, think carefully about it. I was very sorry I did it. I don’t want the same for you,” she added.

In the months that have followed, Giromini has revealed to her readership her disillusionment with feminism and gender ideology, and has repudiated her “bisexual” orientation. She has also expressed remorse for having offended Christians in January of 2014, when she engaged in a well publicized same-sex kiss with another seminude girl with a cross in the background, in front of the Church of Our Lady of Candelária in Rio de Janeiro. The photo of the two had become iconic in Brazil of homosexual contempt for Christianity.
