Fresno State Announces Fate of Professor Who Celebrated Barbara Bush’s Death

On Tuesday, Fresno State University announced that the professor who celebrated the death of Barbara Bush and who promoted acts of domestic terrorism will face no disciplinary actions from the university.

Fresno State President Joseph Castro said that after reviewing the “facts” that the university will take no disciplinary action against Jarrar because she did not violate any university policies and she was acting in a “private capacity.”

Castro failed to address multiple other issues surrounding Jarrar, including her interference with Arizona State’s crisis hotline, her comments celebrating plane hijackers, and her calls for violence against specific people.

Jarrar sparked controversy last week when she tweeted: “Barbara Bush was a generous and smart and amazing racist who, along with her husband, raised a war criminal. F**k outta here with your nice words.”

Jarrar, who later bragged that she couldn’t be fired because of tenure, also tweeted: “PSA: either you are against these pieces of s**t and their genocidal ways or you’re part of the problem. that’s actually how simple this is. I’m happy the witch is dead. can’t wait for the rest of her family to fall to their demise the way 1.5 million iraqis have. byyyeeeeeeee.” (Read more from “Fresno State Announces Fate of Professor Who Celebrated Barbara Bush’s Death” HERE)

By The Daily Wire. On Wednesday, the Fresno State professor who bragged on social media that she couldn’t be fired because she is tenured got a harsh reality check from Fresno State’s Chief Academic Officer (CAO).

During a press conference that was held to address professor Randa Jarrar’s offensive tweets, CAO Dr. Lynnette Zelezny said that tenured employees are not exempt from firing . . .

Clarifying her answer, Zelezny said, “You can be fired. There are certain processes that we have to follow but there are certainly situations where a tenured faculty person can be fired.”

Fresno State: Tenure Doesn’t Necessarily Protect Professor Who Tweeted About Barbara Bush

By The Fresno Bee. All options are on the table in dealing with the Fresno State professor who called Barbara Bush “an amazing racist” shortly after Bush died at age 92, university President Joseph Castro said Wednesday.

“A professor with tenure does not have blanket protection to say and do what they wish,” he said. “We are all held accountable for our actions.”

Castro declined to comment specifically on how the university may handle Randa Jarrar’s case, citing personnel matters. But he did say the next steps for the university include reviewing all the facts, as well as the faculty’s collective bargaining agreement.

Within an hour after the official announcement that Mrs. Bush died Tuesday at the age of 92., Jarrar took to social media to call the former first lady an “amazing racist” who raised a “war criminal.” Jarrar also expressed no concern that she could be fired or reprimanded for her outspokenness.
