President Joe Biden spent part of his overseas trip wringing his hands over the possibility that global temperatures could rise by 1.5°, calling the prospect “more frightening than nuclear war.”

Biden made the comments from a Hanoi, Vietnam, press conference – during which he also referred to those who didn’t buy into climate alarmism as “lying dog-faced pony soldiers” and claimed that he’d borrowed the line (which he’s used before) from an old John Wayne movie. . .

“Correct me if I get this wrong, John, but I’m quite sure I’m right,” he said. “And that is that there’s more carbon absorbed from the air into the Amazon region, into the ground — the ground — than emitted in the entire United States on the same basis.”

“Now imagine if people go in and do what we did, 150-200 years ago — and cut down the forest and start farming in that area,” Biden continued, going on to say that the larger and wealthier nations should be doing what they could to prevent developing nations from employing those same strategies.

“In addition to helping the environment overall — and the only existential threat humanity faces, even more frightening than a — than a nuclear war, is global warming going above 1.5° in the next 20, ten years,” Biden added. “It would be real trouble, There’s no way back from that.”

NYT: Democrats Have Only 1 Year to Save Planet

Many, many warnings – and deadlines – for extremists to “save the planet” by imposing radical green agendas have come and gone.

Now comes the New York Times, with the newest from columnist Farhad Manjoo, who blared “Democrats have a year to save the planet.”

He, according to the report in Newsbusters, “screeched” that “this could be the treat turning point – an opportunity for the United States to finally take grand action to curb the worst effects of a climate barreling toward catastrophe.”

But similar warnings, from no less than Al Gore, have come and gone – without “catastrophe.”

Manjoo claimed, “A century from now, our descendants may look back on the next year or so as a hinge in history. … Picture the saga as it unfolds across the central gallery of the Biden presidential library: In the jubilant aftermath of a pandemic, a president campaigns tirelessly for an ambitious set of investments to mitigate the next great threat. Congress, shaken into action by a restive citizenry, somehow rises to the occasion, overcoming just enough partisan resistance to adopt a breakthrough environmental agenda. The global effort to curb planet-warming emissions had been foundering, but suddenly there was new hope. Censuring China Would Help the Earth Far More Than Banning Steak, Gasoline, and Cow Flatulence

Bashing America is popular on the radical left, but it betrays just how much they really don’t know about the rest of the world. For leftists concerned about the environment, incessantly focusing on the United States is an especially big mental failure. While American stewardship of our land, water, and air have gradually improved over the last 50 years, real degradation of the natural environment has been increasing overseas.

Politicians on the left preach piously about the need to protect the Earth while decrying any sort of restriction on trade with the world’s greatest polluter, China. Anyone who cares about good stewardship of the Earth should consider that trade with China is the United States’ most anti-environmental activity. If you want to be green, you must call for tariffs on China. . .

China is by far the world’s biggest user of coal, and unlike the west, they make little attempt to clean up the byproducts. They burned more coal than ever in 2020 and so far in 2021, they are on pace to use even more. Pollution in their major cities, where mask-wearing was a thing long before anyone heard of COVID-19, is telling.

Their uncaring attitude even extends to space, like earlier this year when bits of a Chinese rocket were left to fall wherever they might. Even when China pretends to be green, the efforts are an obvious sham. The Chinese Communist Party cares as little for the Earth as they do its inhabitants. Ridiculous: Here’s What Biden Claims Is America’s Number 1 Threat

President Joe Biden claimed Wednesday that the greatest threat to America was global warming in a speech to American troops in the United Kingdom.

Biden asked the nations of the world to commit to “ambitious climate action” to stop climate change and stop the world from warming no more than 1.5 degrees celsius.

Biden claimed that when he was elected as vice president with President Barack Obama, the Joint Chiefs of Staff told them that global warming was the greatest threat to the United States.

“The military sat us down and let us know what the greatest threats facing America were, the greatest physical threats,” Biden recalled. “This is not a joke. You know what the joint chiefs told us the greatest threat facing America was? Global warming.”

On Monday night, speaking at a rally at the University of Iowa, Senator Elizabeth Warren was asked by a child during the Q&A if she would end global warming if she were elected president. Without a shred of humility, Warren answered, “Yes.”

Warren’s arrogance could easily remind someone of another candidate who once promised that his presidency would change the climate of the planet Earth:

Warren continued by feeding the child’s worst nightmare: “You know, Eleanor, that is a big commitment because we’re in real trouble. You know this, right? That climate change threatens every living thing on this planet. And for me, the scariest thing that happens now is that every time scientists go back and recalculate the data, put in more information, it’s worse than we thought. The problem’s bigger; it’s moving faster and we have less time to respond.”

WATCH: Fast Food Workers Manhandle Global Warming Protesters

Employees at an In-N-Out burger restaurant in Long Beach, California are being praised for adroitly handling “Extinction Rebellion” protesters who thought they could barge into the establishment, create tons of noise, and disturb everybody within earshot all for the sake of raising awareness about global warming. Rather than acquiesce to these left-wing protesters’ demands, one In-N-Out employee simply picked up a grown man who was leading the demonstration and carried him out of the joint before calling police who promptly took over the situation.

As you can see in the following video, an In-N-Out employee named Tim, in his uniform replete with the classic company hat and red apron, simply manhandled the lefty and hauled him off the premises.

We Have Another Global Warming Prediction That Got Busted…and Glacier National Park Was Forced to Respond

They’re wrong about everything. This applies to the wider liberal media, but it especially applies to the environmental Left that has been preaching doomsday since Earth Day was created. The appalling condescension from this crew, despite peddling straight trash for years is exceedingly entertaining. It’s great because you know what the ending is—these folks eating it…hard. We had global cooling hysteria in the 1970s. It never happened. Now, we’re in the throes of this so-called global warming chapter, where we need to enact this Green New Deal by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) because in 12 years—we’re all toast or something. Funny, we’ve heard all of these predictions before. And now, people are saying by 2050, if nothing is done, we’re cooked. So, which is it, experts? Well, while you cobble together another wrong analysis, let’s go to Glacier National Park in Montana, where the signs indicating that the ice masses would be gone by 2020 have been removed because the area has been pounded by snow for years. Jazz Shaw touched on this over at Hot Air, citing the post by Jeff Dunetz who delivered a sledgehammer to this narrative:

Glacier National Park quietly removed a sign at its visitor center saying the glaciers will disappear by 2020 which were originally placed because former President Obama believed the predictions pushed by the left’s climate change hypothesis.

According to federal officials, several years in a row of high snowfall and cold temperatures totally obliterated a computer model that authorities relied on to claim that the glaciers would all be melted by 2020…

Here Are Some of the Worst Global Warming Predictions Pushed by…the Experts

This green warrior nonsense makes me want to buy all the aerosolized products at my local Walmart and just spray it intentionally into the air. Call me nuts, but I still think the jury is out. In 2007, the experts said the Arctic ice cap would be gone by 2013. It ended up growing by 533,000 square miles. In 2013, we had the calmest hurricane season in thirty years and the quietest tornado season in six decades. It seems like, I d don’t know, that there’s a natural cycle to this. It gets hot in the summer. Hurricanes form during…hurricane season; the same with tornados, and the seasons’ intensity varies. It’s not because of global warming. Oh, and the EPA buries this, but we’re at our most industrialized state ever; air quality couldn’t be better.

Ever since this blasted Earth Day was created in 1970, the green warriors have predicted catastrophe. And they were all totally and utterly wrong. Here are some of their biggest whoppers, courtesy of the American Enterprise Institute who doled out 18 of their biggest flops since 1970. You can about the rest in the link. The Day After Tomorrow is more…two days before the day after tomorrow (via AEI) [emphasis mine]:

Harvard biologist George Wald estimated that “civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.” . . .

“Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make,” Paul Ehrlich confidently declared in the April 1970 issue of Mademoiselle. “The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.”

“Most of the people who are going to die in the greatest cataclysm in the history of man have already been born,” wrote Paul Ehrlich in a 1969 essay titled “Eco-Catastrophe! “By…[1975] some experts feel that food shortages will have escalated the present level of world hunger and starvation into famines of unbelievable proportions. Other experts, more optimistic, think the ultimate food-population collision will not occur until the decade of the 1980s.”

NARRATIVE FAIL: One of Largest Glaciers on Earth That Shrank Is Growing Again

In a blow delivered to global warming purveyors, a new study discovered that a massive Greenland glacier that had been shrinking rapidly is expanding again.

NBC News reports that a new study published in Nature Geoscience examined the Jakobshavn glacier, in central west Greenland, the ice sheet’s fastest glacier and largest by volume discharge, and found that as opposed to the situation in 2012, when the glacier was shrinking 1.8 miles every year while thinning roughly 130 feet, over the last two years the process has been reversed.

The abstract for the study notes that the glacier “has been the single largest source of mass loss from the Greenland Ice Sheet over the last 20 years. During that time, it has been retreating, accelerating and thinning.” It links the growth and thickening of the glacier over the last two years to “to concurrent cooling of ocean waters in Disko Bay that spill over into Ilulissat Icefjord,” adding, “Ocean temperatures in the bay’s upper 250 m have cooled to levels not seen since the mid 1980s.”

The scientists note that their information was gleaned from two NASA data sets: the radar altimetry of the Oceans Melting Greenland mission and the laser altimetry of Operation Icebridge. The study states, “Between 2016 and 2017, we observe ice thickening of 20 to 30 m in the vicinity of the front … Repeat Glacier and Ice Surface Topography Interferometer (GLISTIN) measurements in 2018 show that the thickening continued at a similar rate near the front, but has now extended as far as 80km upstream and has spread laterally.”

The study acknowledges, “Over the past several years, ocean temperatures have cooled on the continental shelf in the vicinity of Jakobshavn Isbrae. New Global Warming Report Reveals Truth About Polar Bears

“Numbers are so high that Inuit leaders have been pleading with the Canadian government for more polar bear population control as violent attacks against native populations have dramatically risen in recent years,” pointed out Marc Morano at the Climate Depot website, which presents evidence countering the claim that mankind is causing catastrophic global warming. . .

But the report by zoologist Susan Crockford, writing for the non-partisan Global Warming Policy Foundation think tank, found that the bears are thriving.

Her study noted the finding “contradicts claims by environmentalists and some scientists that falls in sea ice would wipe out bear populations.” . . .

“Yet polar bear specialists are saying these bears are causing problems because they don’t have enough sea ice to feed properly,” she wrote. “The facts on the ground make their claims look silly, including the abundance of fat bears. Residents are pushing their government for a management policy that makes protection of human life the priority.”
