GOP’s ‘Young Guns’ Program Backs Pro-Abortion, Pro-Gay Marriage Candidates for Congress

Although the Republican Party Platform opposes abortion and same-sex marriage, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is backing and promoting through its “Young Guns” program two congressional candidates who are homosexual, and who support same-sex marriage and abortion.

In addition, one of the “Young Guns” candidates, Carl DeMaio, has received $15,000 from the political arm of House GOP leaders Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), while the other candidate, Richard Tisei, “has won the support of the entire House Republican leadership, including a $5,000 check from the PAC run by the vice-presidential nominee, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.),” reported the Washington Post.

Richard Tisei, who is “married” to his male partner Bernie Starr, in Edgartown, Mass., is running for a congressional seat in the 6th District in the Bay State. Carl DeMaio is running for a congressional seat out of San Diego, Calif.

DeMaio, who is openly gay, supports abortion and same-sex marriage. In a press release, he said, “I see myself as a ‘new generation Republican’ who wants to challenge the party to focus on pocket-book, economic and quality of life issues in a more positive and inclusive way, rather than issues that are, frankly, none of the government’s business in the first place.”

Tisei supports same-sex marriage and is pro-abortion, having received a 100% rating from NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts. The NRCC is spending money on television ads attacking Tisei’s opponent, Rep. John Tierney (D-Mass.), as is YG Action, a political action committee founded by former aides to House Minority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), reported the Washington Post.

PPP: GOP Leads Michigan Senate Race to Replace Democrat, ObamaCare to Blame

A new poll from Public Policy Polling (PPP) finds the Michigan GOP Senate candidate, Terri Land, taking the lead over Democrat Rep. Gary Peters in the race to replace retiring Sen. Carl Levin. Land trailed Peters by 7 points in October, at the height of the government shutdown. She now leads Peters by two, 42-40, a nine point swing in less than two months.

“The declining popularity of President Obama and the Affordable Care Act seems to be making life harder for Democrats here, as we’re finding in other key Senate races,” the Democrat polling firm writes in a memo. Although Obama won Michigan by 9 points last year, his approval ratings are now underwater. Just 47% of Michiganders approve of the job he is doing, while 51% disapprove. Michigan voters also oppose ObamaCare by a 14-point margin.

The big shift in the Michigan race is due largely to Independents. A few months ago, Land and Peters were basically tied among Independents. In the latest poll, Land has opened a massive 17-point lead with the critical voting block.

Will Failing to Support This Movement Prove the GOP’s Demise?

Dear Friend of Liberty,

Current GOP Establishment leadership “wisdom” in Washington is saying it is time to stand up to the Tea Party and show them who is boss.

This misguided way of thinking seeks to oppose a movement that stands for a limited federal government, grounded in the Constitution, which should be exactly what the Republican Party is for, especially at this critical moment in our nation’s history.

A return to these bedrock principles is the only hope for restoring the United States to a land where freedom and opportunity thrive.

The passion, principles, and political engagement of the Tea Party made the Republican Party relevant again. It fueled the GOP’s winning back control of the House and gave it the chance to get back in the game in the Senate only two years after the devastating losses of 2008, in which the Democrats not only took the Presidency and strengthened their grip on the House, but won a filibuster proof majority in the Senate.

It was the Tea Party that understood immediately the fundamental transformation of America that Barack Obama and the Democrats were seeking. It was the Tea Party that stood, and continues to stand, in opposition to that socialist agenda. And it is the Tea Party that is fighting for a new birth of freedom in America.

Here in Alaska, Senator Mark Begich has been a faithful foot soldier in Barack Obama’s and Harry Reid’s march towards their socialist, utopian dream. From voting for the trillion dollar failed stimulus package, to exponentially growing the entitlement state as the nation racked up $7 trillion in new debt, to his 60th and deciding vote for ObamaCare, Senator Begich has been an unquestioning “yes” for the Democrat agenda.

We have the chance to replace Mark Begich next year, but it must be with someone who is committed to a fundamental restoration of America. In this great challenge, a “go along to get along” Republican mentality will not be enough to stop and roll back the encroachments of the federal government during the last several years.

You know where I stand; I’m not “Johnny come lately” to this fight!

You don’t have to wonder whether I’ll fight for your Constitutional Liberties. You don’t have to wonder whether I’ll advocate for the free market. You don’t have to wonder whether I’ll speak up for those who can’t speak for themselves. You know I will.

I have been a strong opponent of ObamaCare from the start. I have advocated for its repeal. And I am the only candidate in this senate race who has embraced the accountability of signing the Senate Conservatives Fund Pledge to Defund Obamacare!

As Alaska’s next United States Senator, I will stand with leaders like Ted Cruz and Mike Lee, because they understand the grave consequences to our nation if we fail to act and act soon to restore fiscal soundness and our constitutional freedoms.

Truthfully, my opponents will likely talk a good talk in the months ahead, but when given the opportunity to support tea party reform in the past, they chose the establishment status quo with its bailouts, crony capitalism and trillions in deficit spending.

The contrast couldn’t be clearer.

Our country is at peril, and there is little time to turn it around. It’s time to take a bold stand for the country we love and fight for its future!

When I am elected to the United States Senate, I pledge to confront this lawless administration and its radical socialist agenda. You can bank on it.

I cannot do this alone; but together we can. If you want a fighter in the United States Senate, I need your help today.

Thanks for your generosity and support!

Because America is worth fighting for . . .

‘Bizarre Behavior’ Could be Risk to Christie White House Run

Photo Credit: AP/Ross D. FranklinGov. Chris Christie’s “bizarre behavior’’ in refusing to say he’ll support a possible GOP challenger to Gov. Cuomo next year could derail his chances to become president, state and national GOP insiders have told The Post.

“Christie already has a problem with many Republicans refusing to forgive him because of his embrace of [President] Obama and his socially liberal policies,’’ said a nationally prominent GOP operative. “But this bizarre behavior in suggesting he won’t help a Republican defeat a Democratic governor, and a Cuomo no less, could finish off his chances of becoming his party’s nominee for president in 2016,’’ the operative continued.

Cuomo claimed last week that Christie, the new head of the Republican Governors Association — an organization whose purpose is to elect GOP governors — had quickly called him to say The Post was wrong in reporting the New Jersey governor was ready to back Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, should he become the Republican nominee for governor next year.

“I spoke to Gov. Christie this morning, who told me the exact opposite,’’ Cuomo contended in reference to last week’s “Inside Albany” column.

But Christie spokesman Colin Reed refused to confirm Cuomo’s claim, referring questions to Christie political consultant and longtime GOP operative Mike DuHaime, who likewise refused to comment.

GOP Congressman Serves Up a Steaming Plate of ‘I-Told-You-So’ over Obamacare and the Shutdown (+video)

Photo Credit: Gage SkidmoreCongressman Raul Labrador isn’t unrepentant for the Republicans’ role in the fight over Obamacare that lead to the government shutdown — especially since the White House has unilaterally delayed multiple portions of the law since its implementation.

“There wasn’t a single Republican that wanted to shut down the government,”Labrador said in an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller. ”We all knew that on October first there was a new healthcare law that was going to impact every American and that was the only opportunity we had to do a fight on Obamacare.”

Labrador mocked Democrats for fighting so savagely against GOP proposals only to clamor for the very changes that the GOP was requesting as soon as President Obama’s signature piece of legislation went into a tailspin.

Solar Firm Linked to Obama Donors Could Be ‘Next Solyndra,’ top GOP Sen. Warns

Photo Credit: REUTERSA California-based solar company backed by several Obama supporters has been receiving millions in federal tax credits while losing $322 million since 2008, raising concerns about the company “becoming the next Solyndra.”

Among SolarCity Corp.’s biggest investors is Elon Musk — the high-profile donor and fundraiser who co-founded PayPal and whose companies SpaceX and electric-car company Tesla Motors have received at least $846 million in loans and startup money from the Obama administration.

Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, the top Republican on the Senate Budget Committee, warned about SolarCity’s financial standing in a letter Monday to the Treasury Department.

“There is concern that SolarCity might become the next Solyndra — a company propped on the back of the taxpayers,” Sessions wrote.

The company fired back Tuesday, specifically against the Solyndra comparison.

GOP Eyes Pope Francis for Divine Inspiration

Photo Credit: Alberto Pizzoli/AFP/Getty For his party to survive, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich believes the GOP needs to broaden its appeal beyond “the infamous 47 percent.” Conservative activist Ralph Reed would rebrand the Republican Party as a force of compassion – feed the poor and clothe the naked. Republican strategist John Feehery says the GOP craves a populist leader – “a happy warrior.”

Their model: Pope Francis.

“What Francis is doing,” Reed said, “is rebalancing the Catholic Church’s message to stress the pastoral mission of good works and service to people before getting to ideology. What he’s not doing is jettisoning the Catholic doctrine. What about that is not a model for the Republican Party?”

For top Republicans, Catholics in particular, the pontiff’s headline-seizing efforts to reverse negative stereotypes of one of the world’s oldest and most ossified institutions – almost exclusively through symbolic gestures – stands as an example for the GOP. The Republican Party, according to polls, is viewed by many in the United States as insular, intolerant and lacking compassion for the poor while consorting with the rich.

The Catholic Church has the same “brand problem” – and since his election in March, Pope Francis has ruthlessly tackled it. Here are four lessons Republicans should take away from the pope’s early success…

GOP Rep. Confirms Articles of Impeachment will be Filed Against Eric Holder (+video)

Photo Credit: AP By Jason Howerton

A group of fed-up House Republicans who say they are tired of being stonewalled by Attorney General Eric Holder plan to formally introduce articles of impeachment on Thursday in a bid to remove the nation’s top law enforcement officer from office.

Several GOP congressmen have been drafting articles of impeachment over a number of controversies relating to the U.S. Department of Justice. The lawmakers’ grievances include Holder’s refusal to turn over documents relating to Operation Fast and Furious, the DOJ’s habit of selectively enforcing federal laws, and the department’s refusal to prosecute IRS officials who accessed confidential taxpayer information, among other things.

The articles of impeachment also accuse Holder of providing false testimony to Congress, which is a “clear violation” of the law.

Rep. Pete Olson (R-Texas) told CQ Roll Call that he plans to formally introduce the charges on Thursday. Further, Rep. Ted Yoho (R-Fla.) confirmed the impeachment effort to TheBlaze TV in an interview set to air on Wednesday night. You can watch Yoho’s appearance on tonight’s episode of “Wilkow!” here.

Photo Credit: TPNN Citing Multiple Scandals Rep. Calls for Impeachment of Eric Holder

By Greg Campbell

On Wednesday, Florida Congressman Ted Yoho spoke candidly with TPNN’s The Voice of Reason, Tim Constantine. As President Obama, seemingly, walks between the rain drops without having to deal with the consequences of the numerous scandals that are piling up on his doorstep, Rep. Yoho noted that Attorney General Eric Holder, the Justice Department’s chief law enforcer, has been held in contempt of Congress and should be impeached.

Speaking of a mounting movement in Congress amongst conservatives to consider impeachment of Holder, Rep. Yoho explained,

“Whether it was Fast and Furious or some of these other [scandals], not enforcing the laws on the books and not upholding his constitutional duties and violating the law on numerous occasions- these things have been mounting up… When we got back from this last break we just said, ‘We’re going to go ahead with this. There’s just too many things that they’ve done in this administration, especially with the Attorney General, that anybody else in America, had they done what he had done, would go to jail. And so, the American people want accountability in their government and this is the time to start it.

GOP Pulls Even with Democrats in Congressional Poll

Photo Credit: AP/Charles DharapakA new poll shows voter frustration toward Republicans has significantly waned in recent weeks, with the GOP negating a 9 percentage-point disadvantage in generic polling and now running even with Democrats.

If congressional elections were held today, 39 percent of voters would cast ballots for Republicans — the same percentage who would pick a Democrat, a Quinnipiac University poll says.

A Quinnipiac poll from Oct. 1 showed Democrats with 43-percent support, compared with 34 percent for Republicans.

In the latest poll, 37 percent of independent voters said they would vote for a Republican, while 26 percent said they would go with a Democrat — a big swing from the October survey that showed Democrats with a 32-30 advantage among independents.

Obama Warns GOP: There Will Be a ‘Price to Pay’ for Defying ‘American People’

Photo Credit: Chip Somodevilla/Getty ImagesIn a stunning bit of hubris, President Obama told attendees at a Miami fundraiser that Republicans will pay a price for defying the will of the American people, which, Keith Koffler wrote at the White House Dossier Saturday, Obama himself embodies.

“So he’s pushing the line that in defying The Leader, it must be that Republicans are defying America itself,” Koffler wrote.

“The only way we can continue to place pressure to get that bill done is by making sure that the other side — or at least that small faction on the other side — understands there’s a price to pay when you don’t act on the basis of the interests of the American people. And so that’s something that I hope we can still get done by the end of this year,” Obama said, centering on his failed immigration bill.

Koffler called it “typical Obama.”

“Conservatives – forget for a moment he’s supposed to be their president too – are just a faction of heartless bastards who hate the ‘American values’ Obama thinks he represents,” he added.
