Biden Mocked on X After Renewing Call for ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban

On Tuesday, President Joe Biden used a post to X to renew his call for an “assault weapons” ban and was mocked in response.

Biden posted:

He was immediately mocked on X, with one user responding, “It’s time for a new president.”

Another user wrote, “You’re advocating for the disarming of citizens while you try to imprison your opponent. How fascist of you.”

Yet another added, “‘Shall not be infringed’ means ‘Shall not be Infringed.’ End of discussion.” (Read more from “Biden Mocked on X After Renewing Call for ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban” HERE)

Troubled Judge Facing 8 Felony Gun Charges Indicted Again After Alleged Drive-by Shooting at Brother-In-Law’s House

. . .A sitting Oklahoma judge already facing multiple felony gun charges in Texas has now been indicted for allegedly riddling his brother-in-law’s home with bullets in a drive-by shooting in his home state, authorities said.

Garfield County Associate Judge Brian Lovell, 59, was charged with fresh felony counts of discharging of a firearm into a dwelling and use of a vehicle to facilitate the discharge of a firearm last week in connection with the Feb. 12, 2023 gunplay in the town of Bison, Okla., the Enid News & Eagle reported.

Two days after the alleged shooting outside brother-in-law Kenneth Markes’ home, Lovell claimed that the gun had been stolen from his vehicle, Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond said in a press release this week. . .

The controversial jurist also faces eight felony counts in Texas for allegedly using the same Glock 23 .40-caliber gun in a similar incident in Austin on Sept. 11 of last year.

In that case, Lovell is accused of driving near Matamoros and Santa Maria streets in his white SUV, during which he allegedly “discharged a firearm approximately five times,” the Eagle said. Blue State Bill Could Ban Immensely Popular Pistol

The New York state Legislature is considering a bill that could ban the popular semi-automatic pistols manufactured by Glock, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Democratic State Sen. Zellnor Myrie of New York, who represents Brooklyn, will introduce the bill in the New York State Senate Tuesday, the WSJ reported. The legislation will require firearms manufacturers to alter their firearms to prevent easy conversion to fire fully-automatic or the pistols would be banned.

Myrie claimed that so-called “Glock switches” and “pistol converters” were a threat to his constituents, according to the WSJ. The parts, capable of being made by 3D printers, are the latest target of New York legislators, who also banned so-called “ghost guns” and bump stocks in past legislation, the WSJ reported.

Myrie’s proposed bill was celebrated by the Bloomberg-funded gun-control group Everytown in a post thread on X.

“For decades, Glock has known that its pistols are uniquely susceptible to being converted into illegal machine guns in a matter of minutes with cheap, quarter-sized devices, now called Glock switches,” the group claimed. (Read more from “Blue State Bill Could Ban Immensely Popular Pistol” HERE)

Biden: I’ll Consider Further Unilateral Action on Guns, Can’t Believe Trump Said ‘No One’s Going to Touch Your Guns’ (VIDEO)

During an interview with Univision that took place last Wednesday and aired on Tuesday, President Joe Biden stated that he would consider taking further executive action on guns and criticized 2024 Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump because Trump “famously told the NRA that, don’t worry, no one’s going to touch your guns” if Trump won.

Interviewer Enrique Acevedo asked, “[G]un violence remains the number one cause of death for children in America. Latinos have made it a top priority across the country, especially in places like El Paso and Uvalde in Texas. Your administration called on Congress to pass common-sense gun laws, but that’s unlikely to happen in the next few months. If you’re re-elected, would you consider taking further executive action on this issue?”

Biden to Pull Trigger on Background Checks for Private Gun Sales?

Joe Biden’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is working on a number of fronts to undermine, even devalue, the 2nd Amendment’s protections for the right of Americans to keep and bear arms.

And one of the campaigns involves creating new demands for background checks for private gun sales.

Those checks already are required of anyone who handles a firearms transaction while holding a federal firearms license, but to date they have not been required by law of those selling a gun to a neighbor, a relative or such.

However, a whilsteblower organization is warning that the Biden bureaucrats are pushing for an “unconstitutional” power grab that would now regulate private firearms transactions.

It is Empower Oversight, which recently represented the IRS agents in the Hunter Biden case, that warns in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland that two BATF sources confirmed the White House directed the bureaucrats to “make the change and ‘has drafted a 1,300-page document in support of a rule that would effectively ban private sales of firearms from one citizen to another by requiring background checks for every sale.'” (Read more from “Biden to Pull Trigger on Background Checks for Private Gun Sales?” HERE)

Judge Strikes Down Federal Ban on Handgun Sales

On Friday, Judge Thomas S. Kleeh issued a decision striking down the federal prohibition against 18 to 20-year-olds purchasing handguns.

The plaintiffs in the case are Steven Robert Brown, Benjamin Weekley, the Second Amendment Foundation, and the West Virginia Citizens Defense League.

Judge Kleeh, a Donald Trump appointee, is Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia.

Kleeh put the case in context:

This case requires the Court to assess the protected right of the people under the Second Amendment to the Constitution to keep and bear arms. U.S. Const. amend. II. Plaintiffs Robert Brown (“Brown”) and Benjamin Weekley (“Weekley”), individuals, are “law abiding, responsible adult citizens who wish to purchase handguns.”…Brown and Weekley are citizens of West Virginia and the United States of America and are between the ages of eighteen and twenty-one. Brown and Weekley, as law-abiding, responsible adult citizens, would purchase handguns and handgun ammunition from Federal Firearms Licensees (“FFLs”) but for the right proscribed by 18 U.S.C. §§ 922(b)(1) and (c)(1).

CNN Uses Misleading Data to Push Gun Control After Mass Shooting

Another mass shooting means another opportunity for Democrats to push their radical gun control agenda, in which they claim it is the guns that kill people.

On Wednesday, after a mass shooting in Lewistown, Maine, CNN highlighted misleading data that killed at least 22 people.

The Left-wing outlet claimed that there have been 525 “mass shootings” in 2023, adding that the Maine shootings contributed “to a list of 565 reported across the United States this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive.”

However, as pointed out by Breitbart News, data from the Gun Violence Archive is conducted by changing the definition of a “mass shooting.” Therefore, shootings caused by drive-by incidents, double or triple homicides, gang violence, and other related crimes are counted as “mass shootings,” leading to skewed data.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, incidents where a “minimum of four victims shot, either injured or killed, not including any shooter who may also have been killed or injured in the incident” are considered “mass shootings.” (Read more from “CNN Uses Misleading Data to Push Gun Control After Mass Shooting” HERE)

The One Detail That Torpedoes Any Gun Control Narrative in the Wake of Maine Shootings

Lewiston, Maine, the state’s second-largest city, was rocked by a horrific mass shooting that left up to 22 people dead and dozens injured. The suspect, Robert Card, remains at large. The manhunt roped in federal and state law enforcement agencies, but despite reportedly finding his vehicle near Lisbon at a boat ramp at Papermill Trail Park, Card is still missing. . .

I hate to get into the politics of this, but Democrats have already started stoking the flames of the gun control fires. That would happen anyway, but can we wait until all the details are released and the damage assessed before we get into this policy fight? We already had the information corrected. Would you like to guess which two things came up regarding the suspect that we’ve heard many times before concerning these crimes? He was known to law enforcement and had severe mental health problems. . .

Card is reportedly a 20-year Army veteran and a trained firearms instructor but had episodes of hearing voices in his head. He made threats to attack a National Guard base in Saco. In the summer of 2023, he was committed for two weeks at a mental health facility:

Senate Passes Measure Protecting Vets’ 2A Rights From Veteran Admin Overreach

On Wednesday, the Senate passed Sen. John Kennedy’s (R-LA) amendment protecting military veterans’ Second Amendment rights from Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) overreach.

During the end of Barack Obama’s second term as President, Breitbart News pointed to a Los Angeles Times report showing veterans’ concern over losing their 2A rights if they needed help managing their money.

According to the Times, “A strategy used by the Department of Veterans Affairs” meant that veterans “declared incompetent to manage pension or disability payments and assigned a fiduciary” were reported to the National Instant Criminal Background Checks System (NICS). The report to NICS meant they could not longer buy a firearm. . .

But various sources indicate Biden’s VA has continued reporting veterans to NICS.

For example, Fox News noted the policy still exists. “Under current law, the Department of Veterans Affairs reports a veteran’s name to the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System when they seek help managing their finances in a conservatorship,” according to the report.

Trump Appointee Strikes Down Gun-License Requirement of ‘Good Moral Character’

A federal judge ruled Tuesday that New York City’s requirement for a gun license applicant to have “good moral character” ran afoul of the Constitution.

Judge John P. Cronan, a Trump appointee, said the requirement gave officials “vast discretion on licensing,” which was inconsistent with the nation’s founding and traditions related to firearm ownership and possession.

He also reasoned that the government’s argument that the “good moral character” assessment was needed to separate law-abiding citizens from those who are not law-abiding lacks a historical analogue, which the Supreme Court ruled in 2022 was required for gun control laws to pass muster.

The government has “not identified any historical analogue for investing officials with the broad discretion to restrict someone’s Second Amendment right based on determining the person to “‘lack[] good moral character’ or for a vague and undefined notion of ‘good cause,’” Judge Cronan wrote.

The case was brought by Joseph Srour, a Brooklyn man, who had applications for gun licenses denied in 2019. City officials told Mr. Srour he had two prior arrests and several driving violations, so he lacked “good moral character” for the licenses.
