Israel Sends Ground Troops Into Gaza; Biden Defends Israel Response to Hamas Attack

By Breitbart. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) sent ground troops into Gaza early Friday morning local time, in an effort to uproot Palestinian terrorists who have fired nearly 2,000 rockets at Israeli civilians over the past several days.

The IDF tweeted after midnight:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted a video message, vowing to restore “quiet and security to the State of Israel.”

He added: “The last word was not been said, and this operation will continue as long as necessary.” That may have been a warning to the international community, including the United Nations, not to intervene until Hamas had been defeated. (Read more from “Israel Sends Ground Troops Into Gaza HERE)

Biden: Israel Didn’t Overreact In Its Gaza Response

By Breitbart. President Joe Biden said Thursday that he does not think Israel has overreacted in its response to massive rocket fire from Gaza.

“One of the things I’ve seen thus far is that there has not been a significant overreaction [by Israel],” he said during a press conference.

“The question is how they get to a point where there is a significant reduction in the attacks, particularly the rocket attacks that are indiscriminately fired into population centers, but I expect that I’ll be having some more discussions,” Biden added.

He also noted that his administration is in frequent contact with Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and others about finding an end to the violence. (Read more from “Biden: Israel Didn’t Overreact In Its Gaza Response” HERE)

CAIR Official Exposed as Avowed Hamas Supporter

A senior official of the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR) who spoke last week at an event celebrating the election of three Muslim members of Congress is an avowed supporter of the U.S.-designated terrorist group Hamas.

Jinan Shbat (who goes by “Jinan Deena” on Twitter), CAIR’s national outreach manager, tweeted her support for the Palestinian terrorist group in June, expressing her preference for Hamas over the Palestinian Authority, which governs the Palestinian areas of the disputed West Bank.

Last week, she opened CAIR’s congressional reception celebrating Democrat Reps. Rashida Tlaib, Mich., Ilhan Omar, Minn., and Andre Carson, Ind. Shbat spoke prior to CAIR executive director Nihad Awad, who has in the past also declared his support for Hamas. CAIR was founded by Hamas-tied operatives for the purpose of raising clandestine funds for the Gaza-based terror group. Today, CAIR describes itself as a “grassroots civil rights and advocacy group.”

This follows news that Rep. Tlaib invited Abbas Hamideh, an open Hezbollah (a U.S.-designated terrorist group) supporter and the executive director of the extremist group Al-Awda, to her inaugural private dinner party. In 2016, Shbat led a pro-Palestinian rally held by Hamideh’s Al-Awda. Officials within the extremist organization have supported terrorist groups and called for terrorist attacks against Israelis.

It is unclear whether Shbat was also invited to the private dinner, but she did appear in multiple photos that day with Rep. Tlaib and posted them on social media.

The CAIR official is not just a Hamas supporter. Shbat is a passionate advocate for Israel’s destruction, often taking to social media to express her support for the boycott of Israel and for the country’s extermination.

Shbat, who, like Rep. Tlaib, identifies as a Palestinian-American, has expressed a deep hatred for America:

Conservative Review has reached out to Rep. Rashida Tlaib inquiring about her associations with Jinan Shbat. We will update the story if her congressional office responds. (For more from the author of “CAIR Official Exposed as Avowed Hamas Supporter” please click HERE)

Shocker: Even Leftist Columnist Rips Hamas, Says They Committed ‘an Act of Human Sacrifice’

Appearing on CNN with Anderson Cooper, New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, who has spent his career attacking the Israeli right wing, astonishingly ripped into Hamas for the violence along the Israeli-Gaza border and the Palestinians who were killed, saying Hamas had committed “an act of human sacrifice.”

Cooper precipitated Friedman’s response by assuming Friedman would buy into the media’s false narrative of the correlation between the opening of the embassy in Jerusalem and the Hamas riots, ignoring that Hamas had been rioting every week for weeks: “Tom, it was striking yesterday to watch members of the Trump Administration celebrating the unveiling of the new embassy and at the same time Palestinians were being killed on the Israeli-Gaza border.”

Shockingly, Friedman ignored Cooper’s attempt and targeted Hamas instead, saying:

You know, the whole thing, Anderson, is just like diplomatic pornography from beginning to end. Let’s start with Hamas and Gaza. I mean, it was an act of human sacrifice. I’m sorry, when you throw thousands of your youth, the flower of your youth against an Israeli fence, supposedly to get into Israel, some of them surrounded by armed Hamas fighters, it was inevitable that a lot of people were gonna get killed. Israel was not going to open the border to them and Hamas knew that, and this was entirely designed by Hamas to distract the attention of the world, not to mention the Middle East.

. . .

Friedman answered, “Absolutely. They’re totally in control. And this is their answer to failed leadership, to turn Gaza into some kind of decent flourishing state, which they could have done. They had the choice to do that before all these blockades began and they chose not to. They have a lot to answer for.” (Read more from “Shocker: Even Leftist Columnist Rips Hamas, Says They Committed ‘an Act of Human Sacrifice'” HERE)

Ex-Hamas Member Stands up for the Truth About the Palestinian Leadership, Leaves UNHRC Flabbergasted

I met Musab Hassan Yousef in 2012 when he was in Jerusalem to promote a new movie he wanted to make with American-Israeli film director Sam Feuer.

The movie, he explained, would be about his undercover work for Israeli intelligence from 1997 until 2007, when his situation became untenable.

He was smaller than I previously thought, and looked fragile next to his bodyguard. But his big dark eyes, his charisma and his determination to tell the truth about Israel and Palestinian society under the Palestinian Authority and Hamas rule impressed me .

Five years had passed since the “Green Prince,” the son of Hamas, had moved to the U.S., where he received political asylum after he stopped his work as mole in Hamas for the Israeli security service Shin Beth, and seven years after he converted to Christianity and was baptized in the Mediterranean Sea near Tel Aviv.

After his escape to the U.S., he publicly revealed his conversion to Christianity and renounced the Palestinian leadership, particularly Hamas.

Yousef, the son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, the spiritual leader of Hamas, published his autobiographical book, Son of Hamas, in 2010 and went on to give interviews and lectures about his life in Ramallah and other Palestinian cities. He also discussed his conversion to Christianity.

Youssef no doubt prevented countless murderous terror attacks and exposed numerous Hamas terror cells who where in the midst of preparations for suicide attacks and assassinations of Israelis.

He was regarded as the Shin Beth’s most valuable source of intelligence, and didn’t even hesitate to give information on the movements and deliberations of his own father.

Yousef was even incarcerated in Israel in order not to arouse suspicion regarding his work as a spy for the Israelis.

Last week, Yousef again did something extraordinary when he unexpectedly addressed the U.N. Human Rights Council, which gathered in Geneva for yet another Israel-bashing session.

The meeting took place after Nikki Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the U.N., had warned that the Trump administration could sanction the U.N. over its continuing obsession with Israel and the bashing of the Jewish state by the UNHRC.

The Sept. 25 meeting about the supposed human rights situation in Palestine featured representatives of human rights offenders such as Venezuela, Syria, Iran and North Korea, who accused Israel of massive human rights violations, abuse, stealing of land, mass colonization and war crimes.

But then came Yousef, who was invited by Hillel Neuer of U.N. Watch, a monitor organization which exposes U.N. bias against Israel. His words shocked the delegates.

“My name is Musab Hassan Yousef and I grew up in Ramallah as a member of Hamas,” he said.

He then first addressed the issue of the legitimacy of the PA which claims to be the “sole legitimate representative” of the Palestinian Arabs.

“I ask: Where does your legitimacy come from? The Palestinian people did not elect you, and they did not appoint you to represent them. You are self-appointed. Your accountability is not to your own people. This is evidenced by your total violation of their human rights,” Yousef said.

“You kidnap Palestinian students from campus and torture them in your jails. You torture your political rivals. The suffering of the Palestinian people is the outcome of your selfish political interests,” Yousef said, while some of the delegates turned their heads in disbelief.

“You are the greatest enemy of the Palestinian people,” Yousef told the representative of the Palestinian Liberation Organization while she rolled her eyes.

“If Israel did not exist, you would have no one to blame. Take responsibility for the outcome of your own actions,” Yousef thundered, while claiming the Palestinian leaders were fanning the flames of the conflict by maintaining their abusive power.

He then said the Palestinian representative was using the UNHRC to mislead the international community and Palestinian society to believe that Israel is the cause for the problems the Palestinian leadership has created.

Musab has said he wants to bring peace to the Middle East and hopes to return to his homeland one day. He has called Islam “the biggest lie in history” and Allah the “biggest terrorist” while saying “only Jesus could save mankind” and that “Jesus is the only way to God.” (For more from the author of “Ex-Hamas Member Stands up for the Truth About the Palestinian Leadership, Leaves UNHRC Flabbergasted” please click HERE)

THE BDS MOVEMENT: Hamas Terrorists Come to America

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERATo defeat the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign against Israel, it is first necessary to understand it.

The BDS campaign is an extraordinary phenomenon.

Activists from US coast to coast robotically parrot the same lies, employ the same tactics of bullying, intimidating and silencing pro-Israel activists and speakers on campus after campus.

Their goals are uniform. They seek to silence pro-Israel voices in US academia as a means to destroy general public support for Israel in America.

And they seek to make Jew-hatred socially acceptable in elite circles in America for the first time since the Holocaust.

This month it was leftist MK Tzipi Livni’s turn to fall victim to BDS bigotry and defamation. During a public appearance at Harvard Law School, one of the heads of BDS movement at the school, Husam el-Qoulaq, asked her why she is “smelly.”

Qoulaq is the head of Students for Justice in Palestine at Harvard Law School.
SJP is the central engine of the BDS movement.

Its members are the ones who organize the “divest from Israel” resolutions routinely passed by ignorant or intimidated student representatives on college councils.

SJP members are the ones who regularly harass pro-Israel students and riot or otherwise disrupt pro-Israel events on campuses.

They are the ones who willingly and purposely engage in rank anti-Semitic demonization of Jews and Israel to normalize Jew-hatred in America.

Given SJP’s lead role in the campaign against Israel and American Jewry on college campuses, students and Jewish groups trying to combat the racist movement focus their attention on SJP.

But it works out that SJP doesn’t formally exist.

There is no nonprofit group called Students for Justice in Palestine. SJP doesn’t file tax forms. It doesn’t have a paper trail. In other words, SJP is a ghost organization, an illusion.

To bring it down you need to find its controllers.

The Canary Mission (canarymission.org) is a website managed by students and activists. It was formed “to document people and groups that are promoting hatred of the USA, Israel and the Jewish people, particularly on college campuses in North America.”

According to the website, SJP was founded in 2001 by UC Berkeley Prof. Hatem Bazian. Bazian’s organizational pedigree reads like the who’s who of Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood front organizations in America.

Bazian fund-raised for a Hamas front group called KindHearts. In 2008, like a number of other Islamic groups that were found guilty of providing material support for terrorism in the framework of the Holy Land Foundation trial, KindHearts was forced to disband. KindHearts was found to have raised money for Hamas.

Another of Bazian’s former employers, the Islamic Association for Palestine, also disbanded after it was found guilty of funding Hamas.

According to the Canary Mission’s findings, Bazian founded SJP to distance the BDS movement from its Islamic masters. His idea was to brand it as a radical group that could easily collaborate with other radical groups on campus and so turn the radical establishment into an engine for anti-Israel activism.

Although Bazian went to great lengths to brand SJP as a non-Islamic movement, he had no intention of ceding control of the BDS movement to non-Islamic forces. To ensure control over SJP, and through it, the BDS movement as a whole, according to the Canary Mission, Bazian formed American Muslims for Palestine.

On April 19, during a hearing before the US House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade and the Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa, American Muslims for Palestine’s nature became clear.

Jonathan Schanzer served as a terrorism finance analyst for the Department of the Treasury from 2004 to 2007. He currently works as the vice president for research at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies in Washington. In testimony before the subcommittee, Schanzer revealed that the heads of AMP are alumni of three Islamist groups that were banned following their convictions for terrorism financing during the course of the Holy Land Foundation trial that ended in 2008.

AMP’s leadership held key positions at the Holy Land Foundation, KindHearts and the Islamic Association for Palestine. These groups and their employees transferred millions of dollars to al-Qaida, Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

Although Schanzer could find no indication that AMP is continuing its predecessors’ practice of sending funds to foreign terrorist groups, he demonstrated how the heir of Hamas-USA now direct the BDS movement. Through AMP, they control SJP.

In his words, “AMP is a Chicago-based organization that is a leading driver of the BDS campaign.

AMP is arguably the most important sponsor and organizer for Students for Justice in Palestine, which is the most visible arm of the BDS campaign on campuses in the United States. AMP provides speakers, training, printed materials, a so-called ‘Apartheid Wall,’ and grants to SJP activists.”

Schanzer added, “AMP even has a campus coordinator on staff whose job is to work directly with SJP and other pro-BDS campus groups across the country.”

The reason that SJP activists utilize the same tactics and rhetoric from sea to shining sea is because officials from the heir to disbanded terrorism funding groups tells them what to say and do. Everything from their “Apartheid Walls” and Die-Ins to their posters and slogans and tactic of shutting down pro-Israel events is dictated to them by AMP.

Whereas SJP doesn’t exist at all on paper, AMP’s existence is eyebrow-raising from a legal perspective.

AMP is not registered as a nonprofit so it is impossible to know its funding sources or the size of its donations, because it is not required to publicize them. As Schanzer explained, funds for AMP are raised through yet another organization called Americans for Justice in Palestine Education Foundation, or AJP, whose nature and behavior are also strange.

AJP’s chairman is Bazian. AJP and AMP share the same office in the Chicago suburb of Palos Hill.

Unlike AMP, AJP is a registered nonprofit. In its 2014 990 tax form, attached to Schanzer’s testimony, it reports raising in excess of $3.2 million between 2010 and 2014. But, in apparent breach of the law, AJP did not report how it spent the money or where it received the funds from.

Like AMP, AJP members worked in the past for the Holy Land Foundation, the Islamic Association for Palestine and KindHearts. Indeed, most of them are the same people.

Not only do AMP-AFP fail to divulge their financing sources or outlays, they revel in their practice of operating at the edges of the law. At AMP’s 2014 annual conference in Chicago, participants were invited to “come and navigate the fine line between legal activism and material support for terrorism.”

Given SJP’s raging success, it isn’t a surprise that Bazian isn’t the only one claiming to have founded it. For instance, Senan Shaqdeh claims that he founded SJP. As Schanzer testified, Shaqdeh, who also lives in Chicago, is listed as a terrorist from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine by the PLO’s Ministry of Expatriate Affairs’ website.

Shaqdeh is also the coordinator of the Chicago- based US Coalition to Boycott Israel. In 2014, Shaqdeh traveled to Ramallah where he met with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and PA Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah.

The chairman of the US Coalition to Boycott Israel is Ghassan Barakat. According to Schanzer, Barakat is a PLO consular official in Chicago.

Like SJP, the Coalition is not a legal entity. It is not registered with state or local tax authorities. But given Barakat’s and Shaqdeh’s associations with the PLO and the PA, it is likely that it is funded by the US-funded PA.

Perhaps money from the PLO to SJP and other BDS outlets is transferred through an opaque New York state registered nonprofit called Wespac. Currently, a delegation of Palestinian students, organized by Bir Zeit University, paid for by Wespac and managed by SJP is traveling through the US lobbying students to boycott Israel.

Schanzer’s testimony should lead anti-BDS efforts in three directions. Two of them are legal, and one is political.

On the legal front, AMP and AJP’s commingling is curious, to say the least. Their failure to report the sources of their funding or how the funds are used appear, at a minimum, to be a breach of reporting requirements. These irregularities, along with the fact that officers of these organizations were in the past officers of organizations disbanded due to their provision of material support for terrorism, warrant criminal investigations by both tax authorities and counterterrorism investigators.

Unfortunately, shortly after he entered office in 2009, President Barack Obama’s then-attorney- general Eric Holder ordered the Department of Justice to stop investigating Islamist nonprofit groups. Accordingly, it is highly unlikely that any investigation will be conducted by federal agencies in the near future.

This leaves state, local and congressional authorities.

Since AMP and AJP are registered in Palos Hills, both Illinois tax authorities and law enforcement and Palos Hills authorities can open investigations into their operations. Moreover, Congress, which exposed the fact that both groups appear to be a natural continuation of banned terrorism-supporting organizations, is fully empowered to conduct congressional investigations of their operations, replete with the power to subpoena witnesses.

As for the operations of PLO officials in Chicago, their work is arguably in breach of the laws stipulating the permitted conduct of PLO officials in the US. Congress can investigate their behavior as well, and determine whether or not it constitutes a material breach of the PLO’s permitted actions in America, and so requires the US to cut off its relations with the terrorist group. Certainly the involvement of PA/PLO officials in an anti-Semitic hate campaign is grounds for a cut off of US aid to the PA.

On the political front, it is vital that Israel fight BDS as the most widespread form of anti-Semitism in North America. Unlike the situation in Europe, where BDS is largely an economic warfare campaign, in the US its goal is political. Its leaders are not interested in harming the Israeli economy per se. They are interested in cultivating anti-Semitism and hatred of Israel to pave the way for economic warfare and actual war against Israel.

Government ministers involved with the fight against BDS need to provide anti-BDS activists with information about SJP’s links to Hamas and with the PA. American Jewish organizations and activists need to call out college administrators when they say since they refuse to carry out divestment resolutions that they oppose BDS, even as they allow SJP to operate on their campuses and even fund the Hamas front group directly.

Schanzer’s testimony makes clear that the BDS movement is part and parcel of the jihadist war against Israel whose goal is its annihilation.

Both legally and politically, it needs to be fought accordingly. (For more from the author of “THE BDS MOVEMENT: Hamas Terrorists Come to America” please click HERE)

Hamas in America: The Enemy Within

While Obama and his allies will focus their national security message on cracking down on so-called “assault weapons” and inanimate objects, they will ignore the true national security threat – the presence of “assault people” at the highest levels of government.

Last week, I noted that the Muslim Brotherhood represents the biggest threat to our homeland security and our survival as a civil society built upon constitutional freedoms. Although the political elites in both parties like to tell us we are at war, they fail to treat those in our country who support our enemies as traitors. In fact, many of these people have influence at the highest levels of our government, particularly the agencies dealing with homeland security. Today, I’d like to examine a case study to illustrate how deeply rooted this problem is in our own country — not just half away around the world in Syria.

A Muslim immigrant in the greater Chicago area named Kifah Mustapha posted the following on his Facebook account during the outbreak of the stabbing intifada in Israel:

لا يسمع دوي القنابل إلا من كان بعيدا عنها..أما الفائزون فيسمعون ترحيب الملائكة بهم..Only those far away from bombs would hear its explosionThe triumph ones would hear angels welcoming them

انتفاضة في الأرض المباركة ستعم ببركتها كل الثورات العربية إن شاء الله An uprising in the Blessed Land will reflect blessings on all Arab uprisings insha Allah

Posted by Kifah Mustapha ElMera'bi on Saturday, October 10, 2015

Unfortunately, that we have willingly imported large numbers of people from the Middle East who support our enemies, hate Israel, and praise terrorism is nothing new. Sadly, there are countless individuals we didn’t have to allow into our country who are now here cheering on Hamas and other Islamic terror groups. But Mr. Mustapha is not just any Muslim immigrant; he is the Imam of a large mosque in Chicago. He is also a community outreach leader for the FBI.

The FBI has a “Citizens Academy,” which “brings the community’s civic, business, and religious leaders together to experience firsthand how the FBI investigates crimes and threats to our national security and learn about the various tools and techniques we employ to carry out our mission.” As the FBI website notes, “[B]ecause of the classified investigative techniques discussed, nominees must also undergo a background check and get an interim security clearance.”

Guess who participated in this FBI training in 2010, security clearance and all?

Mr. Hamas himself, Kifah Mustapha. Here is a picture of the Hamas operative at our own National Counterterrorism Center!

So just who is Kifah Mustapha? He was the Illinois representative/fundraiser for the Holy Land Foundation, the Hamas terror financing arm that was the subject of the largest terrorism trial in American history.

Mustapha was also listed among the more than 240 unindicted co-conspirators in the HLF trial, according to Justice Department documents.

How in the world did a man who should have been indicted on terror charges and is free to engage in treason to this day obtain a security clearance? Why was he nominated to this position in the first place and who made the nomination?

Earlier in 2010, Mustapha’s behavior was repugnant enough that the Illinois state police fired him as a chaplain. When Mustapha filed a lawsuit, with the help of the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated CAIR, even the Democrat Attorney General was appalled by him. Attorney General Lisa Madigan filed a motion in federal court in 2013 noting that Mustapha “aided and abetted, or at least cheered for, terrorism” after he was caught on a video chanting “terrorist lyrics.”

In October 2010, Eli Lake reported in the Washington Times that then-Director of the FBI Robert Mueller was asked about the inclusion of the Hamas cleric in the FBI’s sensitive training program and he refused to answer the question, even as he admitted there are widespread terror links in the sphere of outreach groups they patronize.

Here are pictures of Mustapha meeting with officials from the Customs and Border Patrol at O’Hare airport. Could you imagine someone with the views of, say, David Duke — even without ties to foreign enemies — being treated as a community leader and given access to sensitive counterterrorism agencies?

How many more Kifah Mustaphas are there in our government with access to sensitive counter-terrorism information? How many other Islamic violent extremists are crafting our policies to “Counter Violent Extremism?”

How can we tolerate this for even one day?

The smart-set conservatives in Washington are obsessed with getting our troops involved in overseas civil wars between competing viper nests. Yet, they refuse to discuss the viper nest with access and influence to our agencies that are supposed to be fighting our enemy. In a major foreign policy speech in New Hampshire, Senator Marco Rubio blasted those who disagree with his Syrian intervention on behalf of Islamic rebels as “isolationists.” He spoke a lot about the vitality of Islamic interventions and the surveillance state but never uttered a word about the two most obvious threats to homeland security — threats for which the solutions don’t cost us a dime — Islamic immigration and the Muslim Brotherhood influence.

We have strong constitutional protections of free speech in this country. But as I noted last month, there is no affirmative right to immigrate, no right for non-citizen immigrants to remain in the country, and no right even for citizens to engage in treason and support our enemies or incite terrorism and violence. For those wringing their hands over a path forward in combating terror, maybe we ought to stop inviting onto our shores and into our most sensitive government offices. Hamas Stopped Palestinian Children from Going to Israel for Postwar Peace Trip

By Fares Akram. Gaza’s Hamas rulers prevented a group of children from entering Israel on Sunday for a postwar conciliatory trip meant to foster peace, Hamas and organizers said.

The 37 children, most of whom have lost a parent in fighting between Hamas and Israel, were to enter Israel on Sunday and spend a week visiting Jewish and Arab communities and a zoo. They were also going to travel to the West Bank for a meeting with the Palestinian president.

But a bus carrying the children and their adult chaperones was turned back when it reached the main crossing between Gaza and Israel. Hamas spokesman Eyad Bozum said the decision was made “to protect the culture of our children and our people” from normalizing relations with Israel. He said Hamas would make sure such a trip “will never happen again”. . .

Yoel Marshak, an Israeli organizer, said the visit was meant to a show a positive side of Israel and promote peace. (Read more on why Hamas stopped Palestinian children from their Israel peace trip HERE)

UAW Teachers Branch Joins Israel Boycott

By Sean Higgins. A local branch of the United Auto Workers has become the first U.S. labor organization to join the international movement to boycott Israel, according to liberal groups.

UAW Local 2865, which represents teaching assistants at the University of California, voted to join it on Dec. 4, saying that Israel was engaging in “ongoing human rights violations” against the Palestinians.

A total of 66 percent of the members backed joining the movement, which supporters call “Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against Israel.” Only 2,168 members participated in the Dec. 4 vote, a small fraction of Local 2865’s reported 13,000 members.

The ballot language asked members to support the boycott and to call on both the university and the UAW to join in by “divest[ing] their investments, including pension funds, from Israeli state institutions and international companies complicit in severe and ongoing human rights violations as part of the Israeli oppression of Palestinian people.” It also called on UAW and the university not to do business with any such companies and for the federal government to end economic aid to the country. U.S. Pledges $212 Million in Gaza Aid

Photo Credit: AP / Adel HanaThe United States on Sunday promised $212 million in immediate aid to help rebuild Gaza Strip infrastructure devastated by recent fighting between Hamas and Israel.

The pledge came during an international conference in Cairo, where nations worldwide committed $5.4 billion for the Palestinian-controlled enclave that borders Egypt and Israel.

“The people of Gaza do need our help desperately — not tomorrow, not next week, but they need it now,” said Secretary of State John Kerry while attending the conference.

Much of the territory’s infrastructure, including at least 100,000 homes, were damaged during a 50-day conflict between Israel and Hamas. A ceasefire took hold in August.

Kerry said the money will help the Palestinian Authority meet its budgetary needs for “relief and reconstruction” efforts, including the immediate distribution of food and medicine, repairing the region’s water and sanitation system, and rebuilding homes before winter.

Islamic State Seeks World Domination

Photo Credit: Fox NewsNetanyahu addresses Islamic terror threat in speech to UN

By Fox News.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had high praise for President Obama for leading the coalition attacking Islamic militants in Syria, and criticized those who condemned Israel for its war with Hamas in a speech to the United Nations Monday.

Speaking at the annual U.N. General Assembly meeting in New York, Netanyahu said the threat of Hamas and ISIS reaches far beyond Israel as Islamic militants across the globe share the same goal of world domination.

“Last week, many countries here rightly applauded President Obama for leading the effort to confront ISIS. And yet weeks before, some of these same countries, that now support confronting ISIS, opposed Israel for confronting Hamas,” Netanyahu said.

“They evidently don’t understand that ISIS and Hamas are branches of the same poisonous tree. ISIS and Hamas share a fanatical creed, which they both seek to impose well beyond the territory under their control,” he said.

The Israeli leader compared the spread of Islamic terrorism to a “cancer” that starts small, but left unchecked grows to cover a wider area. “To protect the peace and security of the world, we must remove this cancer before it’s too late,” Netanyahu told the crowd of leaders and diplomats.

Photo Credit: Fox NewsIran set to execute woman accused of killing attempted rapist

By Lisa Daftari.

An Iranian woman sentenced to death for killing a man who tried to rape her told her mother goodbye and prepared to die, even as the Islamic republic’s president was meeting with world leaders at the United Nations.

Rayhaneh Jabbari, 26, is set to be executed Tuesday, according to reports from Iran. On Monday, her mother, Shole Paravan, recounted on her Facebook page an emotional farewell call her daughter made when a sympathetic guard loaned her a cellphone before she was taken to Rajaiy Shahr Prison to be hanged.

“I am currently handcuffed and there is a car waiting outside to take me for the execution of the sentence,” Jabbari told her mother, whose recounting in Farsi was translated by FoxNews.com. “Goodbye, dear Mum. All of my pains will finish early tomorrow morning. I’m sorry I cannot lessen your pain. Be patient. We believe in life after death. I’ll see you in the next world and I will never leave you again because being separated from you is the most difficult thing to do in the world.”
