Hunter Biden Hearing Grinds to a Halt After Ranking Democrat Threatens Bobulinski With Subpoena

A House Oversight and Accountability committee hearing came to a standstill after Democratic Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin threatened to subpoena Tony Bobulinski during a hearing detailing Hunter Biden’s foreign business deals.

Two of Hunter Biden’s ex-business associates, Bobulinski and Jason Galanis, appeared before the committee for a public hearing on Hunter Biden’s foreign business deals and his father, President Joe Biden’s, potential involvement. The hearing abruptly paused after Raskin tried to subpoena for Bobulinski’s Blackberry phone in which he said messages with Hunter Biden and Oneida Holdings partners took place.

“We’ve heard for months now and seen photos of that Blackberry with the cracked screen. Does the committee have in its possession the data from Mr. Bobulinski’s phone from which we allegedly have taken these pictures?” Raskin asked. “I think we need the data that they keep referring to. Maybe Mr. Bobulinski could just turn it over to us or we could subpoena it today?”

House Oversight and Accountability committee chairman James Comer informed Raskin that they had pictures of all the text messages while someone in the background added that Bobulinski had previously been willing to turn over his phone.

“Of course, he has just given us the one’s he has selected. I’m wondering whether we could get all of these texts. I’d move that we subpoena Mr. Bobulinski’s Blackberry phone on which the messages with Hunter Biden and Oneida Holdings partners are saved. He’s stated that he is willing to provide it to the committee so it should be rather simple,” Raskin continued. FBI Director to Face Contempt Charges for Refusing to Turn Over Biden Bribery Document

The Republican Majority on the House Oversight Committee announced it would be taking further action against the Biden FBI on Tuesday after the agency again refused to provide unclassified documents responsive to a committee subpoena regarding an alleged criminal bribery scheme between then-Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national.

In a statement, Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said that the Federal Bureau of Investigation had informed his committee “that it will not provide the unclassified documents subpoenaed by the Committee,” defying the House’s oversight powers on a matter of significant interest to members of Congress and the American people.

“The FBI’s decision to stiff-arm Congress and hide this information from the American people is obstructionist and unacceptable,” Comer continued. “While I have a call scheduled with FBI Director Wray tomorrow to discuss his response further, the Committee has been clear in its intent to protect Congressional oversight authorities and will now be taking steps to hold the FBI Director in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a lawful subpoena,” he explained. WATCH: Former Exec Claims Twitter’s Scrambling to Censor Hunter’s Laptop Was Mere ‘Mistake’

After Elon Musk teamed up with a handful of independent writers to release round after round of “Twitter Files,” the House Oversight Committee jumped into the sea of revelations on Wednesday morning with the first installment in a series of hearings on “Protecting Speech from Government Interference and Social Media Bias.”

Their first hearing focused on Twitter’s suppression of news stories regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop and the damning information it contained. Witnesses for Wednesday’s hearing included Twitter’s former Chief Legal Officer Vijaya Gadde, former Deputy General Counsel James Baker, and former Global Head of Trust & Safety Yoel Roth. Essentially the people most frequently mentioned in the Twitter Files as being apparent cheerleaders of censorship.

While some of the left and in the mainstream media sought to question the veracity of the Twitter Files and dispute the legitimacy of what they seemed to show, those doubts about how far Twitter went to silence a narrative that was inconvenient for the Biden family were finally dashed once and for all in the Oversight Committee hearing.

Roth, under oath, made an attempt at a mea culpa, admitting Twitter’s decision to censor The New York Post’s bombshell stories on Hunter’s laptop was a “mistake.”

“At first glance, bore a lot of similarities to the 2016 Russian hack-and-leak operation targeting the DNC,” Roth testified. “And in that moment, with limited information, Twitter made a mistake,” he added, even though the Twitter Files showed a seeming willingness to construct a narrative to justify its decision to censor coverage of Hunter’s laptop. “Under the Distribution of Hacked Material policy, the company decided to prevent links to The New York Post’s stories about the laptop from being shared across the service,” Roth added, reiterating the outcome of its “mistake.” (Read more from “WATCH: Former Exec Claims Twitter’s Scrambling to Censor Hunter’s Laptop Was Mere ‘Mistake'” HERE)
