Supreme Court Allows Trump to Strip Protections From Some Venezuelans; Deportations Could Follow

The Supreme Court on Monday allowed the Trump administration to strip legal protections from 350,000 Venezuelans, potentially exposing them to deportation.

The court’s order, with only one noted dissent, puts on hold a ruling from a federal judge in San Francisco that kept in place Temporary Protected Status for the Venezuelans that would have otherwise expired last month.

The status allows people already in the United States to live and work legally because their native countries are deemed unsafe for return due to natural disaster or civil strife. This New Tax Could Stop Illegal Immigration And Keep Money From Cartels

Each year, migrants send tens of billions of dollars out of the United States — often landing in cartel coffers.

That may be good for migrants and drug lords, but it’s bad for the American economy. That’s why Congress is considering a new tax on money flowing out of the country. Advocates say the tax would penalize illegal immigration, impose new costs on criminal networks, and increase government revenue, all without impacting Americans’ wallets.

Remittance outflows from the United States — when migrants send money back to their countries of origin — have steadily increased in recent years. Data from the Migration Policy Institute reveal that just over $66 billion was sent out of the American economy in 2020. That number climbed to $73.7 billion in 2021 and $81.6 billion in 2022. By 2023, remittance outflows hit nearly $86 billion.

Now, a five percent remittance tax, which is included in President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill,” could penalize illegal immigration, punish cartels, and create a new revenue stream for the American government.

Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) Media Director Ira Mehlman told The Daily Wire that a tax on remittances would recoup some of the money that is, in effect, exported out of the American economy. Judge Indicted Over Allegedly Helping Illegal Migrant Evade Ice After He Was Accused of Pummeling Victim

The Wisconsin judge who allegedly helped an illegal migrant evade immigration authorities was indicted by a federal jury Tuesday.

Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested last month after being accused of obstruction of justice and concealing Eduardo Flores-Ruiz from arrest at the end of a pre-trial hearing.

The high-profile arrest led to outcry from Democrats as the Department of Justice defended its action against the veteran jurist.

The indictment on Tuesday came at the end of a daylong hearing, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported.

She was temporarily relieved of her duties in the aftermath of the arrest late last month. (Read more from “Judge Indicted Over Allegedly Helping Illegal Migrant Evade Ice After He Was Accused of Pummeling Victim” HERE)

Criminal Docs Blow Apart Media Narrative About Migrant in El Salvador Prison

A deported illegal migrant whose family claimed he had no criminal history has previously been accused of several crimes, including carrying a loaded firearm near a school in February, records show.

New York police arrested 19-year-old Merwil Gutierrez Flores on Feb. 25 on three felonies and a misdemeanor a day before immigration authorities arrested him, according to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) document obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. After being sent to prison in El Salvador, Gutierrez-Flores has been at the center of sympathetic media coverage publicizing his family’s claims that “he’s never been accused of a crime.”

The document reveals Gutierrez Flores, a Venezuelan, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, carrying a loaded firearm on school grounds, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of ammunition feeding devices. President Donald Trump’s FBI contacted Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) about Gutierrez Flores a day later.

The DHS report alleged Gutierrez Flores “has been identified as [an] Associate/Active of” the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. Officials deported Gutierrez Flores to the “Terrorism Confinement Center,” or CECOT, in El Salvador on March 15, the DHS said in a statement to the DCNF.

“Merwil Alberto Gutierrez Flores was deported to CECOT because he is an associate of Tren de Aragua — a foreign terrorist organization — whose criminal record included an arrest for having a loaded firearm and ammunition feeding devices at a school,” DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said. “The Biden Administration released this dangerous criminal into our communities in 2023. President Trump and Secretary [Kristi] Noem are getting these criminals off our streets and out of country.” (Read more from “Criminal Docs Blow Apart Media Narrative About Migrant in El Salvador Prison” HERE)

Department of Homeland Security Investigating State Over Providing Benefits to Illegal Aliens: ‘The Gravy Train Is Over’

President Donald Trump’s Department of Homeland Security is investigating California over allegations of providing federal benefits to illegal aliens at the taxpayer’s expense.

The department made the announcement on Monday.

“Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Los Angeles Field Office issued a Title 8 subpoena to the State of California’s Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI),” the press release reads, noting that the CAPI program “provides benefits to aliens who are ineligible for Social Security benefits because of their immigration status.”

As a result, authorities will receive records — which include applications — from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services and investigate to see if illegal aliens received these federal benefits over the course of former President Joe Biden’s tenure.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement that “radical left politicians in California prioritize illegal aliens over our own citizens, including by giving illegal aliens access to cash benefits.” (Read more from “Department of Homeland Security Investigating State Over Providing Benefits to Illegal Aliens: ‘The Gravy Train Is Over’” HERE)

There’s No ‘Sanctuary’ For Family Of Woman Allegedly Killed By Illegal Alien

As Joe Abraham fights for justice for his daughter Katie and victims like her, the suburban Chicago father isn’t holding out much hope in “sanctuary” Illinois.

Katie Abraham was killed in a car crash near the campus of the University of Illinois in Urbana the weekend of Jan. 18. She was 20 years old.

Her killer, according to police, was a previously-deported illegal alien who was allegedly drunk when he slammed his SUV into the driver’s side of the vehicle Katie’s friend was driving as it was stopped at a red light. Julio Cucul-Bol, a 29-year-old Guatemalan national, was driving 78 miles per hour when his vehicle collided with the Honda Civic, Champaign State’s Attorney Julia Rietz said at the suspect’s arraignment, according to WCIA. Rietz said Cucul-Bol applied the brakes about a half a second before the collision; he made “little to no attempt to steer out of the way” of the car filled with four college-aged students, including 21-year-old Chloe Polzin, who died at the hospital from her injuries.

Cucul-Bol immediately fled the scene. When U.S. Marshals ultimately apprehended him days later, he was about an hour south of Dallas, Texas, en route to the U.S. southern border, according to federal law enforcement officials. Upon his arrest, the illegal immigrant gave police a phony name, Juan Jahaziel Saenz-Suarez. His falsified paperwork claimed that he was a 27-year-old Mexican national residing in Urbana.

‘I Don’t Have Faith’

Back in Champaign County, Cucul-Bol is now facing multiple charges, including two counts of reckless homicide, a Class 3 Felony, two counts of leaving the scene of a personal injury crash resulting in death, a Class I Felony, and aggravated driving under the influence resulting in death, a Class 2 Felony. White House Responds to Anti-Trump Ideology Expressed by New Pope

When Robert Prevost, a Chicago archbishop for the Catholic church, this week was picked to be the new pope, Leo XIV, President Donald Trump wished him well.

“Congratulations to Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, who was just named Pope. It is such an honor to realize that he is the first American Pope,” Trump said on his Truth Social account.

“What excitement, and what a Great Honor for our Country. I look forward to meeting Pope Leo XIV. It will be a very meaningful moment!” he said.

Then surfaced social media statements from Prevost, while a cardinal, that adopted an anti-Trump, pro-illegal immigration agenda. The statements specifically targeted the current White House administration with condemnation.

So the White House responded to that, too.

“The president made his reaction to Pope Leo’s announcement yesterday he is very proud to have an American Pope,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said during her briefing. “It’s a great thing…and we’re praying for him.” (Read more from “White House Responds to Anti-Trump Ideology Expressed by New Pope” HERE)

Colorado Democrats Deliver ‘Poke in the Eye’ to Trump by Passing Another Sanctuary Bill

Colorado became a symbol of immigrant-sanctuary laws run amok last year after Tren de Aragua gang members set up shop at an Aurora apartment complex, but that didn’t stop the Democratic state legislature from doubling down.

Headed to Democratic Gov. Jared Polis’ desk is Senate Bill 276, a measure that expands benefits for illegal immigrants and reduces cooperation with federal immigration enforcement in defiance of President Trump’s April 28 executive order against sanctuary jurisdictions.

It turns out that pushing back the Trump administration was the point, according to the bill’s sponsors.

“Our bill safeguards the civil and constitutional rights of everyone in Colorado,” Democratic state Rep. Lorena Garcia said in a statement. “Between carrying out sweeping, untargeted deportations that have included American citizens and defying federal court orders, the Trump administration’s immigration overreach has struck fear in Colorado communities.”

Democrats named the bill “Protect Civil Rights Immigration Status,” but Rob Natelson, senior fellow at the Independence Institute in Denver, has another label: the “Venezuelan Gang Protection Act.” (Read more from “Colorado Democrats Deliver ‘Poke in the Eye’ to Trump by Passing Another Sanctuary Bill” HERE)

Sanctuary California: Three Illegals Arrested for Allegedly Beating Man to Death in Gruesome Home Invasion

Three illegal aliens are accused of beating 47-year-old Aleksandre Modebadze in his own home as they burglarized him and left him for dead in the sanctuary jurisdiction of Los Angeles County, California.

Illegal aliens Paata Kochyashvili, 38 years old; Zaza Otarashvili, 46 years old; and Besiki Khutsishvili, 52 years old, all from Georgia, have been arrested and charged by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) for the murder of Aleksandre Modebadze on April 26.

According to LAPD, the three illegal aliens broke into Modebadze’s home, tied him up, and beat him to death while burglarizing his residence.

The trio is also accused of shutting down Modebadze’s home surveillance cameras ahead of the gruesome murder. (Read more from “Sanctuary California: Three Illegals Arrested for Allegedly Beating Man to Death in Gruesome Home Invasion” HERE)

ICE Nabs Rapists, Child Predators, Gang Members In Deportation Blitz

During the week marking President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office, ICE agents carried out a series of high-profile arrests of migrants with criminal records, according to a document first shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Starting the week of his 100-day mark, booking photos of illegal migrants with convictions or pending charges were displayed along the White House north lawn’s perimeter. Throughout the week, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) made major arrests across the country, with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) releasing details and photos of five of their most significant cases.

“Every single day I receive a report on my desk of the murderers, rapists, child abusers, and other sickos that our ICE enforcement agents are arresting around the country,” DHS Secretary Kristi Noem wrote on a social media post while showing additional arrests. “Under President Trump, we have arrested over 150,000 aliens—including more than 600 members of the vicious Tren de Aragua gang. If you are here illegally and break the law, we will hunt you down, arrest you and lock you up.”

ERO Detroit arrested Ludwig Ivan Castaneda-Gonzalez, a 33-year-old Mexican national, this week in Holland, Michigan. According to DHS, Castaneda-Gonzalez’s criminal history includes a conviction for criminal sexual conduct involving a person aged 13 to 15, which encompasses all sex offenses under Michigan law.
