Immigration News: A New Wave Of Central American Kids Will Reach The US Soon According To Experts

Photo Credit: EFE/FileWhile the U.S. government acknowledges that there is still a lot to do about the crisis of Central American children entering the country, experts and activists believe that sooner rather than later a new wave of unaccompanied youngsters will arrive at the border with Mexico.
” The situation in Central America hasn’t changed, we have the same problems of insecurity and violence, the lack of governability continues and jobs are still a problem – there is no work for young people who are members of cartels or street gangs,” the director of the Americas Program of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Carl Meacham, told Efe on Thursday.

Photo Credit: APHouse GOP letter: Reveal exec orders

By SEUNG MIN KIM.

The latest group trying to claw information out of the Obama administration on its coming executive action on immigration: House Republicans.

GOP lawmakers on the House Judiciary Committee fired off a letter to President Barack Obama on Monday, demanding that he “immediately” publicize all the recommendations he’s gotten on how to go around Congress on immigration.

The chances that Obama will unveil his recommendations from Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and Attorney General Eric Holder are close to zero, at best. The administration has held the range of policy options it’s considering very close to its vest, including in private sessions with lawmakers and advocates.

Illegal Alien Frenzy: Border Rush in Advance of U.S. Crackdown

Photo Credit: APThe summer lull in illegal border crossings from Mexico is about to give way to a rush of even more immigrants in a frenzy of fear that Washington is about to shut the door, according to several Hispanic leaders.

In Honduras, for example, U.S. threats coupled with those from local leaders warning about the dangers of crossing the border have instead reenergized children and adults to run fast to America and pay inflated fees to “coyotes” to get them there.

“As I am speaking, hundreds of children are trying to leave Honduras,” said Jose Guadalupe Ruelas, a Honduran leader who advocates for children. “When people in Honduras hear that the U.S. is going to get stricter with immigration rules and laws then people think to themselves, ‘Now is the time for me to go,’” he said through an interpreter.

Ruelas and several other Hispanic leaders met in Washington on Tuesday after spending a week in Latin nations responsible for sending over 50,000 children across the U.S. border this year. Officials expect another 145,000 next year.

California Voters Worry Over Illegal Immigration but Support Path to Legality

Photo Credit: AP California voters broadly support a path to legalization for immigrants in the U.S. without proper documents, despite widespread worry about the effects of illegal immigration, a new poll shows.

Three in four of those surveyed support an overhaul of federal immigration laws, the USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times poll shows.

A majority of voters of all races, income levels and geography agreed that illegal immigration is a major problem, but there were significant differences over what to do about it, the Times reported Monday.

Beverly Bloom, a 59-year-old registered Democrat from Corona who works in physical education at a high school, said she doesn’t want to see punishment for the students and families she works with, many of them in the country illegally.

Amnesty-King John McCain Sounds Converted, Says ISIS is Trying to Cross Porous Southern Border

After urging national Republicans not to make illegal immigration an issue in the midterms, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) on Wednesday warned that ISIS is trying to exploit the porous U.S.-Mexico border to carry out terrorists attacks on American soil.

Appearing on Fox News with Sean Hannity after Obama’s foreign policy address to the nation on ISIS, McCain, the Gang of Eight member who has been one of the most prominent advocates of comprehensive amnesty legislation, said that ISIS terrorists are encouraging members to sneak into America through the southern border.

“On Twitter and Facebook, they are urging people to come across our border and attack the United States of America,” McCain said on Fox News of ISIS.

On CNN, McCain said America’s “porous” border with Mexico makes the country more vulnerable to a terrorist attack from ISIS. Former Homeland Security officials have previously conceded that ISIS terrorists may have already illegally entered the country through the porous U.S.-Mexico border.

BUCHANAN: EXECUTIVE AMNESTY WILL CAUSE ‘HELLISH FIRESTORM’

Breitbart TV.

Columnist and author Pat Buchanan predicted that President Barack Obama would “have a hellish firestorm on his hands” if he moved forward with plans to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants through an executive order on this weekend’s “The McLaughlin Group.”

“I’ll tell you, he’s going to have a hellish firestorm on his hands if, he in December, which my guess would be he would likely to do, he grants an executive amnesty…

'Armed Patriots': the Private Citizens Out to Secure the U.S. Border

Photo Credit: REUTERS / Rick Wilking By Lisa Maria Garza.

With binoculars in hand, an assault rifle slung over his chest and a Glock pistol on his hip, a man named Will scans the banks of the Rio Grande looking for anyone trying to cross from Mexico into Texas.

Will is a member of the Patriots, a group of heavily armed private citizens who use displays of force to intimidate people attempting to cross the border illegally. Since early summer the Patriots have patrolled an area near Brownsville, Texas.

“If you spot them and shine your light on them, that lets them know that you’re there,” said the 25-year-old construction worker from Indiana who flew to Texas for a stint with the Patriots. “Nine times out of 10, they’re not going to come over.

“Even if they are going to try to cross again, we’re still making it harder for them, and that’s the reason we’re here.”

The Patriots Information Hotline, a networking call center, estimates that 22 groups of “armed patriots” have sprung up along the border from Texas to California this year.

Feds Force Public Schools To Enroll Illegal Immigrant Children With No Medical Screening

By Eric Owens.

Since October 2013, 50,303 “unaccompanied children” from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras have crossed America’s porous Southern border to claim green cards via the immigration courts.

The Obama administration has sent none of these children home. Instead, federal officials have chosen to set aside normal immigration practices and to allow this wave of young illegal immigrants to apply for green cards via asylum applications and to disperse across the country.

With school now in session, these kids have enrolled in public schools nationwide.

In the event that any of these thousands of Central American children are carrying communicable diseases, experts claim, any subsequent health crisis will likely first manifest itself within a public school environment.

That’s alarming news. But wait! There’s more!

Photo Credit: UPIAmerica: Obama Isn’t A Strong Leader

By Sam Rolley.

In light of widespread American perception that President Barack Obama has failed to adequately respond to national problems such as illegal immigration and the threat of Islamic State terrorists, the commander in chief’s rating for “strong leadership” has reached a new low.

According to an ABC News/Washington Post poll released Tuesday, a majority (56 percent) of Americans disprove of the president’s handling of international affairs. Fifty-two percent reported that Obama has been too cautious in responding to ISIS and 65 percent want more airstrikes on positions held by the terror group in the Middle East.

524 Non-Citizens Received Regular Colorado Driver’s Licenses, DMV Says

Photo Credit: David McNew / GettyBy CBS4.

Colorado’s Department of Motor Vehicles mistakenly issued U.S. citizen driver’s licenses to 524 non-citizens, including some illegal immigrants, CBS4 has learned.

The licenses look like those given to state residents. The DMV blamed a software problem at a contractor, who is working with DMV to retrieve the licenses and re-issue correct IDs.

The licenses were mailed at the beginning of September. The contractor said it learned on Sept. 8 that the printing error occurred Aug. 8.

“What happened is there was a software update error on the part of the vendor,” said Director of Dept. of Revenue Barbara Brohl.

The DMV said Friday that drivers left its offices with correct temporary licenses, but the contractor later mailed the incorrect permanent licenses.

DEPORTATIONS DOWN 20 PERCENT, FEWEST SINCE 2007

BY ALICIA A. CALDWELL.

President Barack Obama has quietly slowed deportations by nearly 20 percent while delaying plans to act on his own potentially to shield millions of immigrants from expulsion.

The Homeland Security Department is on pace to remove the fewest number of immigrants since 2007, according to an analysis of its data by The Associated Press.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the federal agency responsible for deportations, sent home 258,608 immigrants between the start of the budget year last Oct. 1 and July 28 this summer, a decrease of nearly 20 percent from the same period in 2013, when 320,167 people were removed.

Over 10 months in 2012, Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported 344,624 people, some 25 percent more than this year, according to federal figures obtained by the AP.

Obama announced plans earlier this year to act on his own to slow deportations but now has postponed any changes until after November’s elections. The delay is an effort to shield vulnerable Democrats from potential voter ire at his unilateral actions.

GOSAR: FEDS REFUSING TO PROSECUTE MANY FIRST-TIME ILLEGALS

By BREITBART TV.

Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) reported that the Justice Department and president told one of his sheriffs the federal government was ending expeditious processing of first-time illegal immigrants and refusing to prosecute many first-time illegal aliens on Friday’s broadcast of the “The Laura Ingraham Show.”

Gosar said that under the expeditious processing plan, Operation Streamline, “usually those that were picked up together were processed together they’re quickly given opportunities to say ‘listen, the plea bargain is that you have to go home immediately’ and they plea to lesser charges.”

AZ SHERIFF: BORDER PATROL BAKING BIRTHDAY CAKES

By BREITBART TV.

Pinal County, AZ Sheriff Paul Babeu reported that Border Patrol agents are making birthday cakes for the unaccompanied minors in their facilities at the same time that drug smugglers who have been deported multiple times keep re-entering the United States on Thursday’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto” on the Fox News Channel.

Babeu stated “I can give you a window into this administration because just a month ago, while all this was going on, we heard, myself and countless sheriffs in Fort Worth, Texas, heard Director — he told us a story how wonderful it was these Border Patrol agents, federal law enforcement, had a birthday cake for this 13-year-old Honduran, and he’s never had a cake, and I was unglued…

Area Schools Scramble to Meet the Emotional Needs of Undocumented Children

Photo Credit: Michael Robinson Chavez / Los AngelesAll summer, Central American children caught at the U.S.-Mexico border have been trickling into the Washington area, sent to live with relatives in Latino communities. Now, they are descending en masse on the region’s public schools, bringing an array of problems that school officials are scrambling to address.

Ripped from distant worlds, most of the new students speak no English, and some are psychologically scarred from abuse by gangs or smugglers. Reunited with parents or other relatives they barely know, and still grieving for family and friends back home, they may feel depressed and resentful.

“Some of these kids arrive feeling very angry,” said Rina Chavez, a counselor with the Montgomery County schools. “After years of living with their grandparents, suddenly here they are with mom and a new stepdad and two younger siblings. Then they are expected in a heartbeat to sit down and learn, but they may not be ready.

“At first, some even refuse to learn English.”

Lynn Officials: Illegal Immigrant Children are Stressing City Services

Photo Credit: Fox NewsBy Crystal Haynes.

Lynn is a municipality on the brink. Key department officials say a recent influx of illegal immigrant children and families in the city is stressing almost every service from trash collection to healthcare.

“We have been aware of the unaccompanied children issue for quite a while, and we were able to absorb a lot of these children early on,” said Lynn Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy. “But now it’s gotten to the point where the school system is overwhelmed, our health department is overwhelmed, the city’s budget is being sustainably altered in order of accommodate all of these admissions in the school department.”

Flanagan Kennedy says the first contact for immigrant arrivals in the city is the school system.

The amount of new foreign born student admissions has nearly doubled in the last two years. This school year alone saw more than 600 new admissions. Among those students, 248 were from Guatemala. Flanagan Kennedy says of those 248 children, 126 were illegal, undocumented minors.

“They are not literate in any language, so they do need some skills. And I assume they are enrolling in school to receive those skills,” said Catherine Latham, Lynn’s superintendent of schools

Obama Refusing to Tell Congress Where Illegal Children Went

Photo Credit: Daily Caller Obama Hides Steady Inflow Of Central American Migrants

By Neil Munro.

The unprecedented multi-year inflow of 150,000 poor Central American migrants into the United States has dropped by only one-quarter during the hottest and most dangerous month of this year.

That’s contrary to the spin from the officials who have tried to claim the August drop was much larger and that the post-2009 inflow is perhaps coming to an end.

“The number of apprehensions in August are down from July, and they’re actually lower than they were August of last year,” President Barack Obama claimed during an August 28 press conference.

“Apprehensions in July were half of what they were in June [and] so we’re seeing a significant downward trend in terms of these unaccompanied children,” he said.

Obama however, focused the reporters’ attention on the smaller part of the inflow — the so-called “unaccompanied children” from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala.

Obama Invents ‘Immigration Rights’ For Foreigners

President Barack Obama believes that many foreigners have a right to immigrate into the United States, regardless of what Americans prefer, say immigration experts.

The evidence emerged from the president’s mouth on Labor Day, as Obama was urging his supporters to vote in November, despite the struggling economy.

“Cynicism is a bad choice… Hope is what gives young people the strength to march for women’s rights, and worker’s rights, and civil rights, and voting rights, and gay rights and immigration rights,” Obama told union supporters gathered Sept. 1 in Milwaukee, Wisc.

That “immigration rights” phrase “implies that some people have the right to move here,” said Mark Krikorian, director of the Center of Immigration Studies.

“It is supposed to be Congress [which decides who can immigrate] but what the president seems to be saying is that ‘If migrants themselves decides to immigrate, and if they are here long enough, we’ll let them stay,’” he said.
